Abstract

A device for connecting a general traction cable and a bicycle, particularly applicable to ski-lifts, for hauling uphill bicycles or like machines, and in particular bicycles used for cross-country or off-the-highway cycling, outside the winter season. The device includes a towing part which is connected to the traction cable via an individual traction cable or individual traction bar. A towed part is connected to the bicycle and a safety device is provided for coupling the two towing and towed parts, with automatic connection by engagement of one of these two parts in the other. This coupling device includes, taking into account the effect of a tension regulator device, a disconnecting device operating on the towed part and releasing the cycle when the rider so desires and possibly in an automatic safety mode. The coupling device also includes an automatic disconnection device operating on the towing part and releasing the cycle when it deviates from the normal path or when it falls on the ground.

1.- Dispositif de liaison entre un câble tracteur général et un cycle, applicable notamment aux remonte-pentes pour assurer la remontée, en dehors de la saison hivernale, de cycles et engins similaires et notamment de cycles tout terrain utilisés pnur la pratique du vélocross et du vélo tout terrain, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte une partie tractrice (4) qui est reliée au câble tracteur général (2), par l'intermédiaire, d'un câble tracteur individuel (7) ou une barre tractrice individuelle, doté l'un ou l'autre d'un dispositif régulateur de tension (6), une partie tractée (5) reliée au cycle et un dispositif d'accouplement de sécurité (3) entre les deux parties tractrice (4) et tractée (5) , à accrochage automatique par engagement de l'une de ces deux parties dans l'autre, ce dispositif d'accouplement (3) comprenant, compte tenu de l'effet du dispositif de régulation de tension, des moyens (24) de décrochage opérant sur la partié tractée (5) et libérant le cycle (1) lorsque le conducteur le désire et éventuellement en sécurité automatique, ainsi que des moyens (11,12,17) de décrochage automatique opérant sur la partie tractrice (4), et libérant le cycle (1) lorsque celui-ci dévie de la trajectoire normale de remontée ou lorsqu'il tombe sur le sol.1.- Connecting device between a general towing cable and a cycle, applicable in particular to ski lifts other, this coupling device (3) comprising, taking into account the effect of the tension regulation device, means (24) for stall operating on the towed part (5) and releasing the cycle (1) when the condu as desired and possibly in automatic safety, as well as means (11,12,17) of automatic stall operating on the tractor part (4), and releasing the cycle (1) when it deviates from the normal ascent trajectory or when it falls on the ground. 2.- Dispositif suivant la revendication 1 caractérisé en ce que la partie tractrice (4) comprend un corps (9) supportant le mécanisme de traction et de sécurité, ce corps (9) ayant une forme destinée à recevoir, par emboîtement mutuel, un corps (10) de la partie tractée (5), en vue d'éviter toute rotation relative de ces deux corps en position d'accrochage, le mécanisme de traction et de sécurité de la partie tractrice (4) comporte un ensemble de deux mâchoires (11), (12) montées respectivement à pivotement, sur le corps (9) de la partie tractrice (4), autour d'axes (13,14) portés par le corps (9),les extrémités postérieures (11a,11b) de ces mâchoires (11,12), situées du coté de la partie tractée (5), sont maintenues fermées, en l'absence de tout effort, par au moins un ressort de rappel (20) porté par le corps (9) , et elles sont bloquées en position de fermeture, en cas de traction axiale, par une came de sécurité (17) reliée au câble tracteur individuel (7), et logée dans le corps (9), cette came de sécurité (17) étant articulée, sur le corps (9), autour d'un axe (18), et agissant sur les extrémités antérieures (11b,12b) des deux mê- choires mobiles (11,12) qui sont situées du côté du câble de traction (7), la forme des mâchoires mobiles (11,12) étant prévue pour maintenir en position fermée, entre leurs extrémités postérieures (11a,12b), un ergot (21) porté par la partie tractée (5).2.- Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the tractor part (4) comprises a body (9) supporting the traction traction cable (7), the shape of the jaws mobile (11,12) being provided to maintain in the closed position, between their rear ends (11a, 12b), a lug (21) carried by the towed part (5). 3.- Dispositif
