Auch ist es schwierig, den Draht mit Abstand vom Ende durch eine Vorrichtung lösbar zu erfassen und das Metallröhrchen über diesen Abschnitt zu schieben. Diese Bewegungsvorgänge sind nur schwer ohne Unterbrechungen zu automatisieren.   • c) ein zusätzlicher Führungskanal zum Leiten des vorgeschobenen freien Endes des Drahtes erneut in das Metallröhrchen am Umschnürungswagen,
  • d) weiterhin eine Einrichtung zum arretierenden Verbiegen des freien Drahtendes an dem Metallröhrchen und schließlich
  • e) eine Schneideinrichtung zum Abtrennen des um den Ballen verspannten Drahtes von der Vorratsspule nach dem Verplomben vorgesehen sind.

Beim zweiten Fahren des Drahtes 30" durch das Metallröhrchen 20 wird durch einen Endschalter der Bandvorschub 12 abgeschaltet, anschließend das freie Drahtende an dem Metallröhrchen 20 arretiert (siehe dazu Beschreibung der Fig. 3), dann der Führungsarm 18 mit Hilfe des Antriebes 17 um die Achse 16 in die strichpunktierte Stellung verschwenkt und schließlich der Bandvorschub 12 rückwärts gefahren zum Spannen des Drahtes 30 um den Ballen 1, wobei der Draht 30 aus den Führungskanälen an den drei Seiten des Ballens 1 herausgezogen wird. Gleichzeitig wird mit Hilfe des Antriebes 11 der Arm 10 der Umschnürungseinrichtung 5 gegen den Ballen 1 verschwenkt, womit der Draht 30 rund um den Ballen 1 verhältnismäßig fest zur Anlage kommt. Anschließend wird die Plombiervorrichtung gemäß Fig. 3 in Tätigkeit gesetzt und der mit der Vorratsspule 19 in Verbindung stehende Teil des Drahtes 30 von der Plombe 20' abgetrennt. Sind die beiden Drahtenden durch das Metallröhrchen 20 gezogen, so verschwenkt der Arm 23 mit Hilfe des Antriebs 36 in die strichpunktiert eingezeichnete Stellung, so daß jetzt ohne Beeinträchtigung der Haltefinger 24 das Metallröhrchen 20 zur Plombe 20' gemäß Figur 3 verpreßt werden kann. Im ausgeschwenkten Zustand wird jetzt mit Hilfe des Antriebs 25 aus einem Magazin 26 ein neues Metallröhrchen in die Haltefinger 24 geschoben, so daß die geöffneten Preßbacken 27, 28 nach Figur 3 erneut mit einem Metallröhrchen 20 bestückt werden können.FIGS. 2 and 3 show the details of the sealing and cutting device 15 according to FIG. 1. Bevor dieser Arbeitsgang jedoch durchgeführt werden kann, wird der von der Vorratsspule 19 kommende Draht 30 durch das von den Haltefingern 24 zwischen den Preßbacken 27 und 28 gehaltene Metallröhrchen 20 gezogen. Auf der Austrittsseite des Metallröhrchens 20 verläßt der Draht 30' die Metallröhrchen-Preßvorrichtung und umschlingt im Anschluß daran den Ballen 1 nach Figur 1 in der dort entsprechend beschriebenen Weise. Mit Hilfe des an der Umschnürungseinrichtung 5 gehaltenen Führungsarmes 18 gelangt dann das freie Ende des Drahtes 30" wieder zurück zur Metallröhrchen-Preßvorrichtung nach Fig. 3 und wird erneut durch das Metallröhrchen 20 geschoben. Nunmehr ist ein an der Rückseite der Preßvorrichtung gehaltener Schieber 31 in die dargestellte Stellung verschoben, so daß die in diesen Schieber 31 eingebrachte Sackbohrung 21 in Höhe der Austrittsöffnung des Metallröhrchens 20 angeordnet ist. Mit Hilfe des Drahtvorschubes 12 stößt also das Ende des Drahtes 30" in die Sackbohrung 21, woraufhin mit Hilfe des Endschalters der Drahtvorschub 12 zum Stillstand kommt. Jetzt bewegt sich der Schieber 31 in Richtung des Pfeiles 32 in die strichpunktiert eingezeichnete Stellung, so daß das aus dem Metallröhrchen 20 herausstehende Ende des Drahtes 30" in Richtung des Pfeiles 32 verbogen wird. Damit wird der Draht 30" an seinem Ende an dem Metallröhrchen 20 arretiert, so daß jetzt der Drahtvorschub 12 entgegengesetzt umlaufend angetrieben werden kann, um das Spannen des Drahtes 30 um den Ballen 1 zu erzielen. Nach dem Spannvorgang liegt die Metallröhrchen-Preßvorrichtung dicht an dem Ballen 1, wie es in Fig. 3 dargestellt ist. Zur Herstellung der Plombe 20' bewegt sich nun der Preßbacken 28 in Richtung des Pfeiles 29 in die strichpunktiert eingezeichnete Stellung, so daß nunmehr eine dauerhafte Verbindung zwischen den beiden Drahtenden 30' und 30" hergestellt ist.The metal tube pressing device according to FIG. 3 for producing a seal 20 'consists of two pressing jaws 27, 28, of which the one designated 27 is arranged in a stationary manner. Claims (8)

1. Method of binding a bale (1) or the like, preferably formed from chemical fibres, far example, by means of a metallic bandage (30) which, coming from a supply reel (19), travels with its free end initially through a metallic connecting element (20), which is kept readily available, then the bandage is guided around the bale (1), the advanced free end is conducted a second time into the connecting element (20), locked in position, then, by passing the bandage (30) rearwardly through the connecting element (20), this bandage is stretched round the bale, the connecting element is pressed, and the portion of the bandage still joined to the supply reel (19) is cut, characterised in that the bandage (30), which is in the form of a wire, passes through a small metal tube (20), which serves as a connecting element and is sealed, and a short portion of the free end of the wire, which had previously been passed around the bale, is twisted round the end of the small metal tube to lock it in position.
2. Method according to claim 1, characterised in that, after the small metal tube (20) has been pressed, the portion of the bandage (30) which has been twisted on the lead seal, is straightened again.
3. Apparatus for tying-up compressed fibre bales (1) with wire (30, 30', 30"), having a press punch (2) and a counter-pressure plate (3), a wrapping truck (5) which is displaceable relative thereto and guide channels which surround the bale (1) in the looping plane on three faces, additionally having a wire feeding means (12) and a means for joining the wire ends (30', 30"), a pivot arm (10) being disposed on the wrapping truck (5) and, in its inwardly pivoted position, placing the wire (30) on the fourth face of the bale, as well as a magazine (26) being disposed on the wrapping truck (5) for tubular-like lead seals (20") , into which the wire ends (30', 30") can be inserted for lead-sealing purposes, and finally a lead seal pressing device (27, 28) is provided, characterised in that
a) the small metal tube (20), supplied by the magazine (26), can be brought into the operative position, that is to say, it can be brought into the path of movement of the wire (30) which surrounds the bale,
b) for this purpose, an arm (23) which is pivotably retained in position is disposed on the wrapping truck (5), and its free end is provided with retaining fingers (24) for retaining the small metal tube (20), the retaining fingers assigning, in their inwardly pivoted position, the small metal tube (20) to the path of movement of the bandage (30) and being allotted, in their outwardly pivoted position, to the magazine (26) of small metal tubes which is kept readily available,
c) an additional guide channel (18) is provided for guiding the advanced free end (2') of the wire (30) a second time into the small metal tube (20) on the wrapping truck (5),
d) in addition, a means (31) is provided for twisting the free end (30") of the wire so as to lock it on the small metal tube (20), and finally
e) a cutting means (33, 34) is provided for severing the wire (30), which is stretched round the bale (1), from the supply reel (19) after the lead sealing process.
4. Apparatus according to claim 3, having a wrapping means (5), which is adapted to be displaceable on the bale (1), to stretch the wire (30) round the bale (1), characterised in that the additional guide channel (18) is displaceable out of its operative position, e.g. it is mounted on the wrapping means (5) so as to be pivotable about the axle (16).
5. Apparatus according to claim 3, having a lead seal pressing device (27, 28), one pressing jaw (28) of which device is adapted to be displaceable in the direction of arrow (29) to press the small metal tube (20), characterised in that, in the direction of movement of the wire (30), a slide member (31) which blocks the path of movement of the wire (30) is retained on the rear surface of the pressing jaws (27, 28) so as to be forwardly and backwardly displaceable in the direction of arrows (32, 35), and a blind bore (21) or the like, extending from the pressing jaw (27, 28), is provided in the slide member (31) for the insertion of the free end (30") of the wire (30).
6. Apparatus according to claim 5, characterised in that the bore (21) extends towards the small metal tube (20) in a conically widening manner.
7. Apparatus according to claim 3, having a lead seal pressing device (27, 28), one pressing jaw (28) of which device is adapted to be displaceable in the direction of arrow (29) to press the small metal tube (20), and a cutting means (33, 34) is provided to sever the wire (30), characterised in that, in the direction of movement of the wire (30), the cutting means (33, 34) is disposed on the front surface of the pressing jaws (27, 28).
8. Apparatus according to claim 7, characterised in that a respective cutting rod (33, 34) is disposed on each of the two pressing jaws (27, 28), such rods having their cutting edges facing one another and severing the wire (30), which is joined to the supply reel, upon the small metal tube (20) pressing against the lead seal (20').
