Description

The invention relates to an arrangement for binding an object, especially a wire harness made from a tape elongated tongue made of tough elastic plastic and a lock arranged at one end of the band and a binding tool consists.

There are tools known (US 5205328, EP-A 596 363) that at one end of the elongate tool body side of the openable and closable wrapping pliers have, which serves for guiding the band around the article to be tied. In the tool body there is a band guide channel with a feed element for advancing the band with the band tongue in front, which opens inside the looping pliers. This is followed by a guide groove in the wrap-around pliers, which guides the tape forward around the object to be tied. The width of the band channel corresponds to the cross section of the lock, which is much thicker than the band cross section. The tape therefore does not find any exact guidance between the walls of the tape channel. However, this guide is necessary so that its free end hits the groove of the loop pliers correctly. In the known tool, therefore, a spring rocker is arranged in the band guide channel near its end, which presses the leading, free end of the band against a channel wall and thereby forces a guide direction that matches the direction of this wall. It does not hinder the passage of the thicker lock because it can spring out. In order for the free end of the strap to properly hit the opening of the strap lock after it has passed through the loop pliers, it must be held at a defined location. For this purpose, a lock holder is provided on the body of the tool at the mouth of the band channel. According to US Pat. No. 5,205,328, it is composed of a stop which prevents the further movement of the lock and a spring rocker which, on the one hand, presses the lock against the stop and thereby determines its position, and on the other hand forms part of the band guide of the wrap-around pliers forms. However, this embodiment has the disadvantage that the spring rocker must be withdrawn from the looping pliers by a separate control mechanism in order to remove the band at the end of the binding process. This control mechanism causes additional effort and makes it difficult to design the tape feeder cheaply. In the EP-A-596 363 known tool the lock mount from a stop and the feed member used for feeding the tape is composed, which presses the lock against this stop and thereby determines its position. This embodiment has disadvantages because the feed element as such must be guided precisely, which is expensive. The feed member can only return to its starting position when its holding function is no longer required; this leads to loss of time or the need for a very fast, wear-sensitive drive.

The invention is therefore based on the object of an arrangement that described above, mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 Kind of creating the less complex and insensitive is.

The solution according to the invention lies in the features of the claim 1 and preferably that of the subclaims.

The spring rocker (rocker) is then mounted on a pivotable part of the looping pliers. This ensures that with the opening of the pliers at the end of the binding process, the rocker is withdrawn, so that without special control measures, their share in the formation of the lock holder is omitted and the lock can be removed freely .

The rocker is expediently mounted at a distance from the lock holder. This applies in particular when the rocker has, adjacent to its end face which is involved in the formation of the lock holder, a holding surface which sits on the lock on the side facing away from the tool body. This prevents the lock from escaping towards the opening formed within the loop pliers. Corresponding holding surfaces can be provided on the opposite side, which prevent retreating.

Since the end of the spring rocker lies directly at the lock in the area in which the free end of the band is guided to the lock opening, it is expedient according to the invention if the free end face of the rocker participates in the formation of the band guide in the wrap-around pliers. For example, it can form the groove base of the guide groove provided in the wrap-around pliers in the end region adjacent to the lock holder. The connection allows me to accomplish more easily by mounting the swing arm according to the invention on a pivotable part of the looping pliers.

  • Fig. 1 die Anordnung bei geöffneter und
  • Fig. 2 die Anordnung bei geschlossener Umschlingungszange.
  • The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, which illustrates an advantageous embodiment. Show it:
  • Fig. 1 shows the arrangement when open and
  • Fig. 2 shows the arrangement with closed loop pliers.
Fig.1 zeigt die Umschlingungszange in offener Stellung. The illustrations show the front part of a tool body 1 of a cable tie tool, all of which for understanding parts not required for the function are omitted are. On the forehead of the tool body there is a loop wrench provided that a lower pliers part 2 and a upper pliers part 3, which around axes 4 and 5 in the tool body are pivotable. Fig. 1 shows the loop pliers in the open position. If an item is to be bound, it is inserted into the wrap-around pliers and this becomes by moving the upper pliers part 3 into that shown in Fig.2 Location closed. The lower pliers part 2 could also by appropriate pivoting movement on the opening and Participate closing function of the pliers; however, this is in the shown embodiment not provided. The swivel movement of the upper pliers part 3, which is guided on an arm 6 is by the interaction of one connected to the arm 6 Cam 7 and one at 8 without details of the curve indicated cam. The return takes place by spring force, not shown.

The pivotal movement of the lower pliers part 2 is from the Cam 8 causes, namely via the rocker arm 9. Der The purpose of the pivoting movement of the lower part of the pliers will be later explained.

A band channel 10 is provided in the tool body 1, which is connected to a band magazine (not shown) and initially runs parallel to the longitudinal direction of the tool body in order to pass through a bend of approximately 90 ° when approaching the tool face. Its inner wall 11 is carried out to the point at which the band lock 12 (FIG. 2) is in the ready-to-bind state. Its outer wall 34 ends further above at a distance from the point at which the band lock 12 is located at 13 in FIG. 2 the clear width of the band channel 10 and which is forced into the band channel 10 by spring force 16. If the lock 12 is not in the position shown in FIG. 2, it can penetrate into the last section of the band channel 10, which is open after the end 13 of the outer wall 34 , into the band channel up to the inner wall 11 of its inner surface 17, which narrows the band channel at an acute angle, delimits this instead of the wall 34 on the outside. When the upper part of the pliers 3 is pivoted upwards in order to open the pliers (FIG. 1), the rocker 15 deflects outward under the influence of the end 13 of the outer wall 34 onto its inner surface 17.

The band channel 10 opens parallel to the end face of the tool body 1 within that enclosed by the wrap-around pliers 2, 3 Area approximately parallel to the forehead of the tool body 1 at the point where the Band lock 12 is located. Until then it has a width that is for the passage of the lock 12 is suitable. He sits in narrower width (across the plane of the drawing) to form laterally projecting steps 18 in the form of a groove 19, to which a groove 20 contained in the lower pliers part 2 connects in alignment. This is from a corresponding groove 21 continued in the upper pliers part 3. The groove 21 ends finally where the lock is in the ready position 12 (Fig.2) is the passage opening 22. The Opening 22 is aligned with the end of groove 21. Shoulders 18 are arranged so that they have a stop for the lock 12th form to position this at this point. Shoulders 18 thus form a housing stop as part of the lock holder, against which the lock 12 during its feed movement running.

The bottom of the groove 21 is not at its end from the upper Pliers part 3, but from the end face 23 of the rocker 15 educated. This is at its corner adjacent to Castle 12 cut out in stages so that an end face 24 is formed, who sits behind the lock 12 when this is on the shoulders 18 rests, and a holding surface 25, which is under the force the spring 16 is placed on the rear edge of the lock 12, to press it against the inner wall 11. This part of the inner wall 11 and the stepped surfaces 24, 25 of the rocker form hence the other parts of the lock bracket that hold the position determine the lock 12 in the position ready for binding. The The inner wall has a passage opening at the location of the lock opening 22 on.

The working game of the tool comprises the following sequence of functions. First, the item to be bound, for example a wire harness, inserted into the open loop pliers (Fig.1). The pliers are made by swiveling down the upper part of the pliers 3 closed, the rocker 15 in the band channel 10 penetrates to the opposite wall 11. The band whose free end first, for example, in the place of Arrow 26 is located by a slide, not shown Band channel 10 advanced. If its tip is the position of the Arrow 27 reached, it gets into the wedge gap between the inner wall 11 of the band channel and the inner surface 17 of the Swing arm 15 and thereby, while it is the swing arm 15 little displaced to the outside, held in contact with the inner wall 11. This gives it an exactly reproducible position and feed direction, so that it is ensured that it after the End of the band channel 10 according to arrow 28 correctly entering the guide groove 20 of the lower pliers part 2 takes place. With continuing Feed now becomes the leading end of the tape through the grooves 20, 21 around the object to be bound.

After the lock 12 has passed the rocker 15, it snaps behind the lock 12 into the band channel 10, its end face 24 settling behind the lock 12 and thus fixing its position. The rocker 15 is arranged so that the lock 12 has just space between the stop acting on its front, formed by the shoulders 18, and the end face 24 of the rocker 15 acting on its rear .

When the lock 12 reaches its ready-for-binding position according to FIG. 2 and the feed stops, the leading end has reached the position according to arrow 29. Now an inward pivoting movement of the lower pliers part 2 begins, by means of which the circumference of the area enclosed by the wrap-around pliers is reduced. Since the rear end of the band in the form of the lock 12 is held in the lock holder, the free end of the band is forced to pass through the opening 22 of the lock 12 in the direction of arrow 30 until it is gripped by a tensioning device which is driven by a driven tensioning wheel 31 and two counter rollers 32, 33 is formed. The wrapping pliers 2, 3 can now be opened, characterized the rocker 15 is also withdrawn, thereby opened by retraction of the swing arm 15 and the lock mount without being required special control measures. This is not required for the further function, since an exact positioning of the lock 12 is no longer required for the subsequent clamping process. The control can thus be carried out more simply . In a known manner, the free end of the tape protruding beyond the lock 12 is cut off as soon as a predetermined tape tension is reached. This concludes the binding process.
