The system for fitting a band (9) around a cable harness comprises a clip (2), through which the band is fed as a loop. The band first passes through jaws (7) and a swivelling plate (6) above the band periodically prevents one end (21) of the clip from fastening.

Description

The invention relates to an arrangement for binding an object, in particular a cable harness, with a tool, a band and a lock, wherein the band is guided in the form of a loop through the lock, which has a band passage and disposed therein engaging in the band detents, the tool comprising a pair of pliers and a tape guide terminating in a lock holder on an end face of the tool and a movable cover tongue temporarily preventing at least one of the detents from engaging in the tape.

An arrangement of this kind is known from US Patent 4,908,911. There is described in particular a tool for binding a held by a lock band. The tool has a tool housing, at the front end of a pair of pliers is arranged. In the tool housing is a tape guide, along which the tape is fed from a magazine through the housing to and through the pliers towards, and a lock channel is provided, through which the locks are guided to a lock holder. The lock holder is arranged on the nose-side mouth of the tape guide. In operation, a lock is placed on the lock channel in the lock holder, then the tape is advanced from the tape guide through the lock in the lock holder in the pliers and guided around the object to be tied as a loop. The free end of the tape is then passed through the lock back into the tool to tension the tape. The strap loop is held taut by the lock and can be removed after cutting the tape from the tool. Thus, a release of the belt loop can be prevented from the lock, it has latches for holding the tape. But so that the tape can pass unhindered through the lock during advancement, a covering tongue is provided which can be introduced into the region between the band and the detent pawl to prevent engagement of the detents of the lock in a toothing of the tape and thus inhibiting the tape feed , The cover tongue is guided longitudinally displaceable by means of a carriage and has a wedge on its tip in order to lift one of the detent pawls from the band and thus prevent it from interfering with its teeth. However, the known arrangement is disadvantageous in terms of reliability and versatility. The tool is sensitive to deviations in the position of the lock or the latch relative to the Abdeckzunge. If the lock is deviating from its ideal position, it may happen that the cover does not grasp with its wedge tip under the latch when inserted into the lock and lifts it, but runs head-on against the latch and thereby either blocked or the latch to damaged to its destruction. An undesirable stoppage of the tool is the result. The same problem also occurs when different locks with different latches are to be used for different thicknesses of tape. The tool must then each time cumbersome adapted to the particular lock used with its arrangement of the pawls to avoid interference.

The invention has for its object to increase the reliability and variability of such an arrangement.

The solution according to the invention consists in an arrangement with the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments emerge from the subclaims.

According to the invention, in an arrangement for binding an object, in particular a cable harness, with a tool, a band and a lock, wherein the band is guided in the form of a loop through the lock, which has a band passage and arranged therein engaging in the band detents, the tool having a pair of pliers and a tape guide opening into a lock holder on an end face of the tool and a movable cover tongue temporarily preventing at least one of the pawls from engaging in the tape, provided that the cover tongue is pivotally mounted.

The pivotable mounting according to the invention gives the covering tongue an additional degree of freedom which makes it possible to adapt to different positions of the latching pawls in the case of different locks. The covering tongue can be deflected so far when introduced into the lock, that in all expected locks together with their pawls can be carried out a secure under-grasping the latch. This ensures a secure gripping the latches even with tolerances inevitable deviating positions of the latches within the same Schloßart. The pivotal mounting of the covering tongue makes it possible that the covering tongue when inserting into the lock no direct contact with the Need to have latch; it can rather be introduced at a safe distance from the detent pawls.

Preferably, the cover tongue is pivotable about an axis which is perpendicular to a tape guide direction. This has the advantage that the pivot axis of the cover tongue is approximately parallel to the axis or the axes about which the latch or latching pawls of the lock move; Usually, the axis of the latch, more precisely that of the instantaneous pole about which the latch moves, is also perpendicular to the tape feed direction. The tracks on which the covering tongue on the one hand and the latch on the other hand move, then lie in one plane. This allows a harmonious course when lifting the latch by the covering tongue.

Preferably, the pivot axis of the cover tongue is arranged so that a movement path of the cover tongue intersects at an acute angle with a movement path of the latching pawl.

Conveniently, the area intended for engagement with the latch of the lock surface of the covering tongue is formed grooved. This has the advantage that on the one hand a slight insertion of the cover tongue is made possible in the area under the latch and on the other hand also when lifting the latch resulting relative movements between latch and cover tongue, in particular towards each other, can be well received.

The pivoting of the covering tongue can be effected actively or passively. When active is expediently a separate drive provided for the covering tongue. In the passively expediently the cover tongue is arranged so that it swings out in the area provided at the lock for tape passage area. As the tape is advanced out of the tool body through the lock towards the pliers, it strikes the cover tongue and forces it out of the tape guide area, causing the cover tongue to pivot.

Preferably, the cover tongue is arranged longitudinally displaceable between a position advanced into the lock holder and a position withdrawn therefrom. By a combination of the pivoting movement according to the invention with the longitudinal movement, the operation of the covering tongue can be improved and simplified. Thus, in particular, the extraction of the cover tongue can be done by simply longitudinal displacement. It is understood by longitudinal displacement not only a linear movement, but it can be an arbitrary z. B. circular motion with sufficient longitudinal component. It is particularly advantageous to arrange the covering tongue on an eccentric for this purpose. This is the easiest way both a pivoting and a longitudinal movement allows.

Conveniently, an actuator for the cover tongue is provided, which is controlled so that the cover tongue is advanced with the pliers closed and withdrawn with the pliers open. Thus, the cover tongue can be connected in an effort to save the operation of the pliers, possibly by means of the eccentric.

The arrangement according to the invention consists of a tool 1, a band 9 and at least one lock 2. By means of the tool 1, the band 9 is guided around a binding object, for example a cable bundle 99, in a loop and the respective ends of the band loop of the Castle 2 held.

The tool 1 has an elongated tool body 11 on which a pistol-like handle 12 is arranged with an actuating switch 14. In a rear region of the tool 1, a tape magazine 13 is attached to the tool body 11. The tape magazine 13 does not necessarily have to be arranged directly on the tool body 11, it may also be arranged separately from this, in which case the supply of the strip material takes place via a connecting line; Such an embodiment is particularly suitable for large magazines. The tool body 11 has in its interior a tape guide 7, of which a front end can be seen in the partially sectioned region of Fig. 1. Likewise within the tool body 11 or outside in a separate large magazine (not shown) is a supply of locks 2, which are fed via a lock channel arranged at the front end of the tool body 11 lock holder 5. The lock holder 5 has a cavity 51 for receiving one of the locks 2. The tape guide 7 within the tool body 11 opens the tool side of the lock holder 5 approximately in the middle of the receiving space 51, wherein the Bandführungsnut 41 of the gun 4 is connected to the mouth of the tape guide 7 in alignment. At the lock holder 5, a cutting blade 8 for cutting the tape 9 is also arranged on the tool side.

An enlarged and more detailed view of the area of the tool 1 to the lock holder 5, the tape guide 7 and the covering tongue 6 is shown in Fig. 2. Shown is a configuration at the beginning of a binding process. The band 9 is guided in the band guide 7. Its front band end 91 is located in the region of the blade 8 as a result of a preceding severing operation.

Above the tape guide 7, the covering tongue 6 is arranged. It is connected via a pivot bearing 63 with a carriage 64 which is guided in a guide 65 longitudinally displaceable. The band tongue lies in the region of its tip 61 at the front end of the tape 91, in such a way that it touches the lower end 66 of the front end of the tape. At its upper side, the covering tongue 6 has a groove 67 in the region of its tip 61. The covering tongue is shown in Fig. 2 in her shown advanced position in which it protrudes with its tip 61 in the lock receiving space 51. When panning, it moves approximately on a path shown by a dashed line 62.

In the receiving space 51 of the lock holder 5 is the lock 2. It has a band passage 23 in its center. In the passage two latching pawls 21 are arranged opposite each other. The latches 21 are connected to the lock 2 of the lock side, on which the belt loop is after a binding process. The latching pawls 21 extend from the belt loop side of the lock 2 in a pioneering manner into the band passage 23. They have at their outer end in each case two latching lugs 24 which are arranged parallel to one another in each case to the other latching lug 24 facing surface of the latching pawl 21. The latching lugs 24 are formed for engagement in a toothing (not shown) on one of the outer sides 92 of the belt 9. The clear width between the latches 21 is sized so that it is greater than the simple thickness of the belt 9, but smaller than twice the thickness of the belt 9; However, the lower limit is not mandatory, the clear width may also be less than the thickness of the belt 9. The outer of the locking teeth 24 moves in deflected ratchet teeth 21 approximately on a path shown by a dotted line 22.

The arrangement is operated as follows: At the beginning of a binding operation, a lock 2 is fed into the receiving space 51 of the lock holder 5. From a previous binding process, there is still the band 9 in the band guide 7, wherein the band end 91 is located in the region of the blade 8. The cover tongue 6 is in its forward and swung out Position. Depending on the thickness of the belt 9, the swung-out position is not completely reached. This condition is shown in FIG.

The actual binding process begins, as well as the forceps 4 is closed to be connected to the harness 9. In a known manner, the band 9 is moved over the tape guide 7 in the feed direction 71. In this case, the front end of the tape 91 passes through the tape passage 23 of the lock 2 and enters into the Bandführungsnut 41 of the gun 4 in alignment. In this case, the band 9 deflects with its outer side 92, which bears against the rear side 66 of the covering tongue 6, the covering tongue, so that it (in the illustration upwards) is pivoted into its partially pivoted-in position. In this case, the cover tongue 6 engages with its tip 61, the upper latch 21, wherein the groove 67, the outer locking tooth 24 of the latch comes to rest and covers him. As a result, the latching pawl 21 is slightly spread away from the belt 9 and thus prevents engagement of the latching teeth 24 in the toothing on the rear side 92 of the belt 9. Although the covering tongue 6 covers only the outer of the two locking teeth 24, but this is sufficient to prevent engagement of both locking teeth 24 in the toothing of the belt 9. This condition is shown in FIG.

When the band 9 has passed through the forceps 4 during its movement in the direction of advance 71, it again enters from the forceps side into the band passage 23 of the lock 2 with its outer band end 91 in front. The outer band end 91 runs parallel, but in the opposite direction to the feed direction 71 of the remaining band 9. When the band end 91 thereby enters the region of the latching pawls 21 are both latches 24 spread, as in the unexpanded state, the inside width is not sufficient for the thickness of two bands. The rear side 92 of the band 9 comes into contact with the latching teeth 24 of the lower latching pawl 21 ', ie the latching teeth 24 engage in the toothing provided on the rear side 92. Usually this does not disturb, since in this direction, which is also referred to as the clamping direction, a movement of the tape tip 91 of the latch 21 'is not inhibited (but probably in the opposite direction). In the other, in the feed direction moving part of the belt 9, however, engagement of the locking teeth 24 in the toothing on the outside 92 would inhibit the movement. However, the covering tongue prevents with its tip 61, which lies between the outer locking teeth 24 and the back 92 of the band, engagement of the locking teeth 24 in the toothing on the back 92. The movement of the band is therefore not inhibited by the latch 21. This condition is shown in FIG.

Since thanks to the band tongue 6 an engagement of the locking teeth 24 in the toothing of the back 92 is prevented, the band 9 can be pushed further until finally the band tip reaches the position shown in dashed lines in Fig. 4, in which it rests against the blade 8. The blade 8 acts as a stop for the tape tip 91. Thus, the feed movement of the belt 9 is completed. The cover tongue 6 can be pulled out of the region between the band 9 and the latch 21. In order for the latch 21 engages in the provided on the back 92 teeth of the belt 9 and prevents further movement of the belt 9 to the pliers. After tensioning the band, the band 9 is then severed by means of the blade 8. Thanks to the pawls 21 of the lock 2 remains the obtained by the band 9 loop 93 around the cable bundle 99, since a leading to the solution movement of the band to the loop out of the latches 21 of the lock 2 is prevented.

As best seen in Fig. 2, the web 22 of the latch 21 during spreading and the trajectory 62 of the cover tongue 6 intersect at an acute angle. The angle is in the illustrated example about 25 °. However, it is not absolutely necessary that the angle is so acute, but preferably it is less than 60 °, more preferably less than 45 °, even more preferably less than 20 °. This acute angle ensures that the tip 61 of the covering tongue 6 does not move during its pivoting motion or only slightly relative to the latching pawl 21. Such a shift would be disadvantageous because the locking lug would be abraded in an uncontrolled manner by the occurring horizontal movement between covering tongue 6 and locking lug 24, whereby the connection security would be deteriorated.

In the illustrated embodiment, the cover tongue 6 is provided only on one side and only acts on the latch 21, against which the belt 9 rests with its toothed side 92 during its advancing movement. It is understood that more than one cover tongue 6 may be provided to cover more pawls.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 5, the covering tongue 6 'is arranged pivotably below the band 9. The cover tongue has in its central region an opening 68 ', through which the band 9 is guided. On the bearing side and the tip-side end of the opening 68 'are each bevels 69 'provided. The tip 61 'of the cover tongue moves on pivoting on the path shown with a dashed line 62'. In the receiving space 51 of the tool, a lock 2 'is added, the dimensions of which differ from those of the lock 2. Thus, its latches 21 '', 21 '''less bulky than the latches 21, 21' of the lock 2. An outer latching tooth 24 '' of the latch 21 '' moves during spreading along a dotted line 22 'shown path ,

In the state shown in FIG. 5, the band 9 extends through the opening 68 'of the cover tongue 6' from the tool body 1 to pliers 4 and the tip 61 'of the cover tongue just below the outer locking tooth 24''of the latch 21'' , The cover tongue 6 'lies with its tip-side slope 69' on the toothed side 92 of the band. As a result, the band 9 with its toothed side 92 pivots the covering tongue so far that the locking teeth 24 "of the locking pawl 21" are lifted off the band 9. The band 9 can run freely through the lock 2 '. Upon reentry of the tape tip 91 after looping, the moving part of the tape 9 in the feed direction is urged upward to the latch 21 '' out. In this case, it caused a further pivoting of the cover 6 ', wherein the latching tooth 24''underneath tip 61', the latch 21 '' lifts off from the belt 9, so that engagement of the locking teeth 24 '' in the band 9 is prevented. The band 9 can therefore be further advanced until it has reached its end position with the tip 91 adjacent to the blade 8. Thus, finally, the cover tongue 6 ', the latch 21''releases and thus enables engagement and retention of the belt 9 in the lock 2', the cover tongue 6 'further up along its path 62 'pivoted until it is so far away from the moving on its path 22' pawl 21 '' that the latch 21 '' comes free, snaps back towards the belt 9 and engages with their ratchet teeth in the toothed side 92 so as to prevent movement of the belt 9 in the direction 71. In this embodiment, it is not necessary that the cover tongue 6 'is mounted longitudinally displaceable.
