Definitions
- the invention relates to a foldable deck chair according to the preamble of the main claim.
- a collapsible deck chair is of great importance, whereby this deck chair would have to be collapsible so small that it can be easily transported on a bicycle, so that it is possible for cyclists, motorists and the like, for example to build a deck chair with a high level of seating comfort on a campsite or the like, but which takes up as little space as possible when not in use.
- the invention has for its object to improve the generic folding construction of a deck chair so that it can be folded up in an even smaller space than the known construction, but the stability of the deck chair formed is increased when set up.
- the invention is based on the consideration that the longest bar for the formation of the deck chair is the connecting bar between the back bar and the front bar, and on this basis it is proposed that armrest bars connect to the back bar which, since they have to be relatively long in a deck chair , formed from two equally long partial bars and are firmly connected to each other via a joint bearing.
- This armrest bar is supported by support bars, which again also consist of two individual bars, which are articulated and thus firmly connected to one another and which support the individual bars of the armrest bars in a supportive manner.
- the foremost single bar of the armrest bar is carried by the upper end of a front bar, which is supported at its lower end on the outer end of the front single bar of the support bars.
- a side support element which consists essentially of the back bar, the armrest bars, the front bar and the support bars, this side support element now combined with another side support element forms a frame into which the actual cloth seat of the deck chair can be inserted ; the connection of the side support elements takes place via cross bars, which not only have the task of carrying the cloth seat, but also fulfill the task of keeping the lateral support elements at a distance and locking them against one another.
- lateral and front and rear reinforcing struts can be provided in the lower region of the frame formed in this way, which are also designed to be foldable and thus do not interfere with the folding of the deck chair.
- the cloth seat with the cross bars is folded into itself by the two side support elements and now the entire deck chair consists only of the support frame folded up in the smallest space, which is formed by the side support rods and a kit made of cloth seat and cross strips. Both parts can be stored in a simple bag that can be kept so small that it can be transported on a bicycle.
- 1 denotes a deck chair which has a cloth seat 2 and which is essentially formed by two lateral support elements 3 and 4.
- the lateral support elements are shown as rods made of wood, but it is of course possible to produce all rods or part of the rods from different materials, such as wood, plastic or metal.
- the two lateral support elements 3 and 4 are connected to one another by means of front and rear reinforcing struts 5 and 6 arranged in the lower region and lateral reinforcing struts 7 and 8, all reinforcing struts 5 to 8 being foldable in the center, as can be seen at 9, while in their end regions are arranged in fixed articulated bearings 10.
- Fig. 2 shows the side support member 4 seen from the seat side. Every lateral support element 3 or 4 is of identical design, so that the explanation of the lateral support elements can be made with reference to FIG. 2.
- the lateral support element 4 has a back bar 11, to which an armrest bar 14 connects at the center and articulated at 12, which consists of two individual bars 15 and 16, which are connected to one another via an articulated bearing 17, the single bar 16 being articulated at its front end 18 carries a front bar 19.
- a support bar 20 which is formed from the individual bars 21 and 22, which are articulated to one another at 23, the length of the individual bars 21 and 22 being chosen so that it is on the underside of the armrest bar 14 in Area of the joint bearing 17 support the armrest bar 14.
- the support rod 20 is fixed to the armrest rod 14 in the assembled state via corresponding locking means 24.
- the front rod 19 connects in an articulated manner.
- the lateral support element is built up by individual trusses 26 and is accordingly stable.
- the reinforcing strut 8 connects at the end in the hinge points for the connection of the individual rod 21 to the back rod 11 and the individual rod 22 to the front rod 19.
- the reinforcing struts 5 and 6 can be seen (shown in section), which run transversely to the orientation of the reinforcing strut 8.
- a head bar 27 which is articulated on the back bar 11 in such a way that it can be folded onto the front of the back bar.
- Cross strips 28, 29 and 30 are arranged between the side support elements 3 and 4, the cross strips 28 and 29 being positively connected to the side support elements 3 and 4, while the cross strip 30 can simply be pushed through a bore at the end of the head rod 27.
- the cross support strips 28, 29 and 30 carry the actual cloth seat 2.
- Fig. 3 the deck chair is shown in the folded state without the cloth seat 2; for the sake of clarity, the reference symbols are additionally designated here with the reference symbols 3 and 4 for the respective lateral support element.
- the back bar 411, the single bar 415, the single bar 421 of the side support element 4 can be seen, as can the back bar 311, the single bar 315 and the single bar 321 of the side support element 3.
- the reinforcing strut 5 is assigned to both lateral support elements 3 and 4.
- the choice of the length of the back bar 11 is matched to the length of the single bar 15 and of the single bar 21 such that these two single bars can be opened onto the back bar 11 over the length thereof.

Description
- Fig. 2 eine Seitenansicht auf ein seitliches Tragelement,
- Fig. 3 die beiden seitlichen Tragelemente in ihrem zusammengefalteten Zustand.
