Claims (6)

1. Procédé de traitement pyrométallurgique en continu de mattes plomb-cuivre, pauvres en cuivre, avec les stades opératoires successifs en continu, qui consiste
a) dans un premier stade du procédé, à faire fondre de la matte plomb-cuivre se composant de 15 à 50 % de cuivre, de 10 à 60 % de plomb, de 10 à 25 % de soufre, de 0 à 30 % de fer et des impuretés habituelles dans un four de fusion, à produire dans la masse fondue dans des conditions reductrices, neutres ou oxydantes et à des températures supérieures à 12500 C, une grande turbulence par introduction ou par insufflation de gaz, à évaporer des constituants volatils de plomb et, le cas échéant, d'autres substances susceptibles de se volatiliser et à les transformer en cendre volante et à produire une matte liquide enrichie en cuivre, ayant moins de 20 % en poids de plomb, ainsi que du plomb d'oeuvre métallique sous forme d'un alliage de plomb contenant du cuivre et à les évacuer séparément,
b) dans un deuxième stade du procédé, à former par introduction ou par insufflation de gaz contenant de l'oxygène libre à des températures supérieures à 1250°C, à partir de la matte liquide produite suivant le stade (a), en coexistence, une scorie de convertisseur riche en oxygène et un cuivre de convertisseur ayant une teneur en plomb inférieure à 1 % en poids et, en même temps, à transformer dans une grande mesure en une cendre volante les impuretés présentes dans la matte et susceptibles d'être volatilisées, et
c) dans un troisième stade du procédé, à raffiner le cuivre de convertisseur, contenant moins de 1 % en poids de plomb et d'autres impuretés, comme du nickel, de l'arsenic, de l'antimoine, par introduction ou par insufflation d'un gaz contenant de l'oxygène libre, les impuretés étant ainsi scorifiées par oxydation sélective et du cuivre préraffiné étant ainsi obtenu.
2. Procédé suivant la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste à oxyder, pour des mattes de plomb-cuivre contenant du fer, le fer pendant le processus de fusion par introduction ou insufflation d'un gaz contenant de l'oxygène libre et à le transformer, par addition de sources de CaO, en une scorie de ferrite de chaux ayant de 10 à 20 % environ en poids de CaO.
3. Procédé suivant la revendication 1, caractérisé en. ce qu'il consiste à brûler en atmosphère neutre ou réductrice, dans le cas de mattes de plomb- cuivre pauvres en fer, le combustible utilisé pour la fusion et la surchauffe de la matte de plomb- cuivre et à produire la turbulence du bain qui est nécessaire à la volatilisation des impuretés par introduction ou par insufflation d'un gaz inerte.
4. Procédé suivant l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste à obtenir dans le processus de fusion une matte partiellement chargée de plomb, d'une composition correspondant aux démixtions présentes dans le système d'équilibre cuivre-plomb-soufre et un alliage métallique coexistant, ayant des teneurs en plomb supérieures à 50 % et à soutirer les deux phases séparément l'une de l'autre.
5. Procédé suivant l'une des revendications 1 à 4, caractérisé en ce qu'il consiste à ajouter des composés oxydés comme Si02, B203 lors du raffinage de la scorie provenant du cuivre de convertisseur.
6. Appareillage de mise en oeuvre du procédé suivant l'une des revendications 1 à 5, qui comprend les équipements suivants communiquant entre eux en vue d'assurer un écoulement massique continu entre les fours:
a) un équipement de fusion (E), constitué d'un puits (2) et d'une sole qui communique avec celui-ci, comprenant des moyens (4) pour amener en continu la matte de cuivre (3) à fondre, au moins un brûleur (6), ainsi que des moyens (6, 9) pour amener en continu de manière réglable du combustible, du gaz contenant de l'oxygène libre et du gaz de balayage et des moyens (10, 11, 13) pour soutirer de manière séparée la matte fondue (14) traitée, la scorie (11a), l'alliage de cuivre riche en plomb (12) et l'effluent gazeux (10);
b) un four (V) pour convertir la matte fondue (14) traitée en cuivre de convertisseur, comprenant des dispositifs (16) pour amener la matte fondue (14) de l'équipement de fusion (E) ainsi que pour amener des agents de réaction (22, 24), et des orifices (17, 19) pour soutirer de manière séparée du cuivre de convertisseur (18) liquide, de la scorie de convertisseur (20) liquide et de l'effluent gazeux (23);
c) un four de raffinage (R) du cuivre de convertisseur comprenant des dispositifs (25, 28, 30) pour amener du cuivre de convertisseur (18) liquide ainsi que des agents de réaction, et des orifices (31, 34) pour soutirer de manière séparée de la scorie de raffinage (29), du cuivre de convertisseur (33) purifié et de l'effluent gazeux (35).
