Definitions
- the invention relates to a cadence regulator on a firearm operated by gas pressure, with a temperature-dependent throttle element which regulates the gas pressure by changing the cross section of a gas channel, which is arranged to be movable for changing the cross section and is moved by a device.
- a known cadence controller of this type (see CH-PS-511 714), the device mentioned has two bodies consisting of materials of different coefficients of expansion.
- the throttle element has a piston provided with a control edge, which is located in a cylindrical bore.
- the piston is loaded by a spring on one side and a liquid acts on the other side.
- the control edge of the piston can change the cross section of the gas channel.
- Mercury is used as the liquid in this known cadence regulator.
- This known cadence controller has the disadvantage that over time, i.e. with increasing heating of the weapon, which does not keep cadence constant.
- the present invention aims to provide a cadence controller which is simple and reliable in construction and which prevents an inadmissible increase in cadence when the firearm is heated.
- a gun barrel 1 According to Fig.l only a small section of a gun barrel 1 is shown.
- This weapon barrel 1 has a transverse bore 2, which serves for gas extraction and which opens into a gas extraction tube 3, which is arranged parallel to the weapon barrel 1 and is fastened to the latter.
- the gas sampling tube 3 has at its lower end a further transverse bore 4 which opens into the cadence controller 5.
- the cadence control 5 and the weapon barrel 1 are fastened in a weapon housing 6, of which only a very small section is also shown in FIG.
- This cadence controller 5 has a cylinder 7 in which a gas piston 8 is slidably mounted.
- the firearm With the help of the gas piston 8, the firearm is actuated in a manner known per se and therefore not shown in detail, that is after each shot the next shot is triggered with the help of the gas piston 8 in a series fire.
- the gas drawn from the weapon barrel 1 with the aid of the transverse bore 2, the gas extraction channel 3 and the transverse bore 4 serves to actuate the gas piston 8, the cadence regulator 5 having the task of controlling the supply of the extracted gas to the gas piston 8.
- the structure of the cadence regulator 5 is now as follows:
- the cylinder 7, in which the gas piston 8 is slidably mounted, has a bottom 9 in its central part, which has an opening 10.
- This opening 10 can be closed by a displaceable throttle body 11.
- the cylinder 7 has in its central part an outer annular groove 12 into which the transverse bore 4 opens.
- the bottom 9 of the cylinder 7 has, parallel to the opening 10, a number of further bores 13 which on the one hand open into the outer annular groove 12 and on the other hand into an upper chamber 14.
- a cylindrical tube 15 is fastened to the upper end of the cylinder 7.
- a pin 16, into which a second cylindrical tube 17 is inserted, is screwed into the upper end of the cylindrical tube 15.
- This second cylindrical tube 17 is concentric with arranged first cylindrical tube 15 and is located inside the first tube 15.
- the above-mentioned throttle body 11 is attached.
- the throttle cross section between the throttle body 11 and the opening 10 can be adjusted with the aid of the pin 16 screwed into the pipe 15. The deeper the pin 16 is screwed into the pipe 15, the smaller the throttle cross section.
- the throttle body 11 has a number of transverse bores 18 and a central axial bore 19 which is arranged coaxially with the two tubes 15 and 17.
- the pin 16 also has a central axial bore 20 which is arranged coaxially with the inner tube 17. With a locking member 29, the pin 16 can be secured against unintentional rotation.
- the mode of operation of the cadence regulator 5 described is as follows: with each shot, part of the hot exhaust gases passes through the transverse bore 2, the gas sampling tube 3 and the transverse bore 4 into the annular groove 12. From this annular groove 12, the hot exhaust gases pass through the bores 13 into the Chamber 14. From the chamber 14, the hot exhaust gases flow on the one hand through the transverse bores 18, the central bore 19 into the interior of the tube 17 and through the axial bore 20 of the pin 16 into the atmosphere, and on the other hand the hot exhaust gases flow out of the chamber 14 between the throttle body 11 and the bottom 9 through the opening 10 and act on the gas piston 8, whereby this moves and triggers the next shot in a manner known per se. The hot exhaust gases heat the inner tube 17, causing it to expand more than the outer tube 15. As can be seen from Fig. 1, the throttle cross section, i.e. the gap between the throttle body 11 and the bottom 9 is smaller and less exhaust gas can flow through the opening 10 against the gas piston 8.
- FIG. 2 only a small section of the weapon barrel 1 is shown.
- This gun barrel 1 has the cross bore 2 through which gas is withdrawn and which opens into the gas sampling tube 3, which is arranged parallel to the weapon barrel 1.
- the gas sampling tube 3 has at its lower end the transverse bore 4 which opens into the cadence controller 21 according to the second embodiment.
- the cadence control 21 and the weapon barrel 1 are fastened in the weapon housing 6, of which only a very small section is also shown in FIG.
- the Kaden controller 21 has the cylinder 7, in which the gas piston 8 is slidably mounted. With the help of the gas piston 8, the firearm is actuated in a manner known per se and therefore not shown in detail, ie after each shot the next shot is triggered with the help of the gas piston 8 in a series fire.
- the gas drawn from the weapon barrel 1 with the aid of the transverse bore 2, the gas sampling tube 3 and the transverse bore 4 serves to actuate the gas piston 8, the cadence regulator 21 having the task of controlling the supply of the extracted gas
- the structure of the cadence regulator 21 is now as follows:
- the cylinder 7, in which the gas piston 8 is displaceably mounted, has the bottom 9 in its central part, which has the opening 10.
- the parts of the cadence regulator 21 according to the second exemplary embodiment described so far do not differ from the corresponding parts of the cadence regulator 5 according to the first exemplary embodiment, which are provided with the same reference numbers.
- the cadence controller 21 according to the second exemplary embodiment differs from the cadence controller 5 described first by the following features.
- the cylinder 7 has in its central part the outer annular groove 12, into which the transverse bore 4 opens.
- the bottom 9 of the cylinder 7 has, parallel to the central opening 10, a number of bores 13 which on the one hand open into the outer annular groove 12 and on the other hand into an upper chamber 14. From this chamber 14 the gas can on the one hand unhindered through the central bore 10 the gas piston 8 act and on the other hand through a bore 22 a Flow insert body 23, which is also located in the upper chamber 14.
- a cylindrical tube 24 is attached, which is preferably made of aluminum.
- a pin 25, into which a second cylindrical tube 26 is inserted, is screwed into the upper end of the cylindrical tube 24. This second cylindrical tube 26 is arranged concentrically with the first cylindrical tube 24 and is located inside the first tube 24.

Abstract
