Definitions
- the invention relates to a matrix printhead with printing needles which can be driven for printing by punctiform formation of characters on a recording medium by means of an electromagnetic solenoid associated with each printing needle with an anchor for printing, the printing needles being mounted and guided in a part of the front and the anchors in the rear part Part of the housing and wherein the electromagnetic coils are combined to form a magnetic block on a base plate and the base plate is connected to the housing.
- Matrix print heads of this type produce, in matrix printers, back and forth movements in front of the parallel printing abutment (platen roller) via an ink ribbon on the recording medium, printing points which result in alphanumeric characters when the recording medium is fed continuously or step by step.
- the frequency when the individual printing needles are fired is of crucial importance for the printing speed.
- the structure of the print needle drive assembly is of essential importance.
- Matrix printheads with printing needles are known, the construction of which is relatively complicated, so that manufacturing inaccuracies occur in several places, which, when added up, represent considerable storage errors for printing needles, magnet armatures and other moving parts. For this reason, such matrix print heads operate relatively imprecisely and are subject to great wear, which is also determined in part by heating, so that the service life of such matrix print heads is limited.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a matrix printhead for matrix printers which initially allows economic tolerances in terms of the accuracy of the manufacture of the individual parts or the individual assemblies, which also has functional stability, ie a long service life, and which is ultimately economical is mountable.
- the stated object is achieved according to the invention in the matrix print head described at the outset in that the base plate of the magnetic block together with the magnetic yokes consists of a one-piece coil holder which receives the electromagnetic coils and that the coil holder is connected to a core bushing which has a stop disk for the magnet armature and which is connected to one Heatsink is further developed with cooling fins.
- This invention has the advantages of economical production with economical manufacturing tolerance, furthermore the advantage of a reduced assembly time and the matrix print head according to the invention achieves a stability during operation which could not previously be achieved, so that a long service life is achieved.
- the stability of the magnetic block and the low-wear power transmission from the electromagnetic coils to the pressure wires is achieved according to further features of the invention in that the base plate of the magnetic block has a base-forming ring to which the magnet yokes are integrally formed and made of the same material in the investment casting process or in the sintering process are.
- the cost-effectiveness of manufacturing an assembly previously composed of several individual parts with appropriate dimensional accuracy, corresponding tolerance quality and corresponding durability is further achieved in that the one-piece coil carrier consists of an iron-silicon alloy.
- a separate invention which however can also be used in connection with the previous invention, is a matrix print head with damping stop means for the backward movement of the magnet armature. It is advantageous here that a stop disk covers an end face of the core bushing which is made of plastic and is heat-insulating.
- the print head guide assembly 1 of the matrix print head is opposite the print abutment 2, which consists of the platen roller 2a.
- the record carrier 3, usually a paper web 3a, is transported through the platen roller 2a.
- the ribbon 4 is also located in front of the recording medium 3.
- the print needle guide assembly 1 has a housing 5 a as part of the print head housing 5.
- the housing 5a there are guides 6 and 7 for the printing needles 8.
- the column of the printing needles 8, i.e. several, e.g. five to twelve, superimposed printing needles 8 are also guided in the guide mouthpiece 9 very close to the pressure abutment 2.
- the guide mouthpiece 9 is also fastened to the guide carrier 10 and adjustable in two height positions by means of the stop 11, the spring 12, the electromagnet 13 and the adjustable working air gap 14.
- the height adjustment is not part of the present invention.
- the pressure needles 8 can therefore also be guided in a height-adjustable manner in the guide mouthpiece 9.
- the pressure needle drive assembly 15 has a connection housing 5b which is kept at a distance from the housing 5a by means of shims 16 which allows the position of the pressure needles 8 on the guide mouthpiece 9 to be readjusted or readjusted at any time during the life of the matrix print head.
- the pressure needles 8 are supported in a rear pressure needle bearing 17 and their needle head 8a abuts against a bearing surface 17a via the compression spring 8b.
- a magnet armature 13 which bears against the needle head 8a, is also supported on a conventional plastic ring 19 and can be actuated by means of the electromagnet 20.
- the electromagnetic coils 21 and the magnetic yokes 22a and 22b with further features are combined to form a magnetic block 23 and shown separately in FIG. 2 '. 2, the magnetic block 23 is drawn without the winding 21.
- the magnet block 23 has a base plate 24, which forms a ring 24a, on which the magnet yokes 22a and 22b are integrally formed, so that the base plate 24 (ring 24a) together with the magnet yokes 22a and 22b form a one-piece coil carrier 25 .
- the base plate 24 is connected to a core bushing 27 by a press connection 26.
- the core bushing 27 forms a transition to a receiving collar 27b through ribs 27 1 .
- the core bushing 27 is machined on the end face 28 or on the face 29, if machining has not already become unnecessary due to the manufacturing process (investment casting process, sintering process). A precise distance 30 arises during machining, the tolerance quality being simple and economical to maintain.
- the stop disc 31 which consists of a tough and wear-resistant plastic or the like.
- the core bushing 27 is simultaneously configured to form a heat sink 32 with cooling fins 33.
- the stop disc 31 forms a centering projection 31a, a stop surface 31b, which is of course at a tolerance distance from the surface 29.
- the stop disk 31 also forms a recess 31c between two ribs 27a, through which connecting cables 34a and 34b run to the electromagnetic coils 21 (FIG. 3).
- FIG. 1 Another design of a stop disk 35, which, however, fulfills the same functions and properties of the stop disk 31, is shown in FIG. 1, the only modification being the laying of the recesses 31c: there are other recesses 36 through the ring 24a and through the receiving collar 27b intended. However, both the recess 31c and the recess 36 lie within the largest diameter of the matrix print head.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 3 eine Draufsicht zu Fig. 2.
