Definitions

  • the invention relates to a headlamp, in particular a main headlamp for motor vehicles according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a headlamp known for example from DE-OS 31 39 943
  • the partial light beam illuminating the vicinity of the roadway is raised and simultaneously fanned out to the side.
  • the entire roadway is illuminated more intensively, particularly in the vicinity.
  • the above-described measure does not achieve the desired, intensive illumination of the road, both the illumination of the long-distance area and the area immediately below the light-dark boundary.
  • the additional sector according to the invention has such an optical geometry and is arranged with respect to the reflector in such a way that a partial light beam which is fanned out on the strong side and raised in the vertical direction is produced with sufficient illumination of the near area of the road.
  • FIG. 1 shows the inside view of a rectangular headlight with several sectors of different configurations in a reduced representation
  • FIG. 2 shows an additional sector, produced separately with respect to the reflector, in an enlarged spatial representation
  • FIG. 3 shows the partial light beam (raw light) projected onto a measuring screen of the reflector in FIG. 1 with a light source for the asymmetrical low beam.
  • FIG. 1 shows the interior view of a rectangular reflector 10, only schematically shown, with an upper and lower boundary surface 8, 9 and an apex opening 14 into which an incandescent lamp, not shown, with a high-beam filament and a low-beam filament can be inserted is.
  • the optically effective reflection surface of the reflector 10 is formed by a long-range sector 11 and two short-range sectors 12 and an additional sector 13. This is arranged symmetrically with respect to the vertical center plane 18, which intersects with the horizontal center plane 17 in the optical axis 15 of the reflector 10.
  • the boundary edges 6 and 7 of the sectors 11 to 13 point to the optical axis 15.
  • the additional sector 13 in FIG. 2 is a concave surface part of a non-rotating hollow body, which in a first embodiment is a paraboloid ellipsoid.
  • a horizontal central section 19 through the paraboloid ellipsoid results in an ellipse 19 'with a first semi-axis 19 "and a second second axis coaxial with the optical axis 15.
  • the vertical central section 20 through the non-rotating hollow body is a parabola 20'.
  • the additional sector 13 has a concave reflection surface 21, the size and configuration of which depend on the parameters of the respective headlight.
  • the reflector 10 produces the following raw light distribution on a measuring screen according to FIG. 3:
  • the far-range sector 11 generates two light-intensive, far-reaching partial light beams 11 'near the vertical center plane 18 and immediately below a Patoscuro boundary 22 which limits the low beam at the top.
  • the two near-comparison sectors 12 of the reflector 10 generate two partial light beams 12 'illuminating the road ahead of the motor vehicle.
  • the additional sector 13 on the other hand, produces a partial light beam 13 'which illuminates the roadway over the entire width on the one hand and the other half of the roadway in the close range on the other hand.
  • the additional sector is a concave surface part of a polyellipsoid, the horizontal central section of which is an ellipse, the large semiaxis of which is shorter than the large semiaxis of the ellipse of the vertical central section.
  • the concave surface part forming the additional sector belongs to a hollow body, the horizontal center section and vertical center section (main sections) of which are a higher-order conic section-like curve.
  • the additional sector is formed by two sector halves which meet in the vertical central plane and whose common abutting edge is either a ridge line 22 pointing away from the optical axis of the reflector or a valley line 23 pointing towards the optical axis (FIG. 2).
