Description

L'invention concerne un dispositif de renversement pour véhicules conformément au préambule de la revendication 1.The invention relates to a reversing device for vehicles according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a reversing device for vehicles is known from US-A-2,583,877. The disadvantage of this is that the adjustable mechanism is difficult to handle and must be fixed to parts of the vehicle frame, the access is difficult. By Swiss patent applications CH-A-511 729, CH-A-325 947 or by British application GB-A-930 486 it is known that for overturning devices of similar vehicles it is possible to provide for the attachment of the vehicle to the hub wheels. Also known from patent application US-A-2 493 295 is a vehicle attachment which consists of a base plate on which pivot two arms, the other end of which can be attached to the brake drum of a vehicle.

The object of the invention is to provide an easy-to-assemble and affordable vehicle device of the kind described above which allows easy access to all parts of the vehicle.

According to the invention, this task is solved by the distinctive features of claim 1. Preferential features which advantageously improve the invention are set out in the dependent claims.

Due to the design of the invention, the reversing device for vehicles can be advantageously used for different types of vehicles since a simple adaptation to the different positions of the center of gravity is possible. The reversing device for vehicles not only has an advantageous construction principle which is therefore inexpensive to manufacture, but it can also be handled simply and without problems. Thanks to its dimensioning, the reversing device for vehicles according to the invention has the advantage of being able to be stored on a reduced surface for occasional use which makes it suitable for use in small workshops also.

We will now describe, with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, the reversing device, object of the present invention, which comprises movable frames 1 and 2, one of which 2 consists of 3-4 curved profiles, the upper part 5 of which ends in a straight part 6- 7. The profiles 3-4 are rigidly welded to a load-bearing transverse bar 10 and rigidified by vertical and diagonal spacers 11 12. On the transverse bar 10, a fixing mechanism 14 has been provided (fig. 1-4), which is consists of an adjustable base plate 15 surmounted by a support 16 which is provided with positioning holes 17-18 allowing the oscillating mounting of the arms 19-20 which are adjusted and fixed on the hub 21 of the left front wheel by known means and therefore not described.

The mechanism 25 being in every respect identical to the fixing mechanism 14 of the left front wheel which has been described above.

As can quickly be seen, the arms 19-20 are pivotally mounted in the holes 17-18 for quick adjustment, the plate 15 can also be adjusted transversely by means of the bolts 22-23 which slide in oblong holes.

The operating principle is as follows: Firstly, the entire front part of the vehicle 30 is raised by means of a lifting jack mounted on casters, so as to position the frame 2 on the front axle of the vehicle 30 which has previously been released from its wheels, the assembly being carried out quickly by means of the arms 19-20 which are fixed to the hub 21 respectively 27 by means of the studs 28 used for fixing the wheels. Then in a second operation, the rear part of the vehicle 30 is raised by means of a jack for mounting the frame 1 on the rear axle, according to the principle which has been described for the front part of the vehicle 30. From this instant, the vehicle 30 can be overturned (fig. 3) transversely without any difficulty to allow easy access of the parts to be changed or repaired directly at the operator's hands, which allows greater speed of intervention. As shown in fig. 3, a wedge 28 has been provided for definitively blocking the vehicle in a predetermined position which can be modified at any time.

La fig. 5 montre un cadre mobile 35 pourvu d'une barre transversale 36 rigidifiée au moyen des entretoises verticales 37 et diagonales 38.Fig. 5 shows a movable frame 35 provided with a transverse bar 36 stiffened by means of the vertical 37 and diagonal 38 spacers.

The movable frame 35 is additionally provided with hollow sections 39 which allow the positioning of the vehicle at different angles of rotation and this by means of a stand 45 which adjusts, by a safety means, in one of the hollow sections 39. The movable frame 35 also comprises displacement wheels 40-41 mounted on fixing plates 42-43 which are removable when the vehicle, respectively the movable frame 35 is in the overturning position.

The reversing device can be provided with 3 sets of wheels, that is to say, 2 wheels with the rear and a swivel wheel at the front cooperating with a drawbar or 4 swivel wheels mounted on the frames.

In an alternative embodiment, the frames 1 and 2 will be fixed to the ground, the vehicle 30 pivoting by means of rollers located inside the frames 1 and 2 which act as guide rails.

In another alternative embodiment, the overturning device will be provided with two carriages each placed under a frame and provided with at least two rollers which allow better rotation of the entire device, the coefficient of friction being greatly reduced.
