- Another advantage of the machine according to the invention is that only a small force has to be applied to hold the lever arms against the associated stops.
- the adjustment device therefore only serves to prevent the lever arms from lifting off the stops. However, this is normally not the case anyway, since the lever arms rest on the stops under their own weight or the weight of the press roller. In the known machine, the adjusting device has to overcome this weight in order to press the lever arms firmly against the stops.
- the adjusting device is a pulling device. It can be formed, for example, by hydraulic adjustment cylinders.
- the stops are supported on a rigid spring according to a further embodiment of the invention.

- the stop arrangement 23 is formed by two wedges 24, 25, which are supported on a stop surface 26 of the machine frame 10. On the opposite side they have an inclined surface which cooperate with inclined stop surfaces 27, 28 of the lever 17. The stop surfaces 27, 28 on the lever converge towards the center.
- the wedges 24, 25 sit on left and right-hand thread sections of an adjusting shaft 29, which can be driven by a motor 30 via a gear 31.
- a transmitter 33 is also attached to the gear shaft 32.
