Definitions

  • the invention relates to a packaging machine, in particular for cigarettes, in which blanks made from packaging material (tinfoil) are separated from a material web wound into a bobbin, several bobbins being provided in a storage holder and being able to be conveyed one after the other into a consumption position.
  • packaging material such as tobacco
  • High-performance packaging machines especially for the production of cigarette packs, consume a lot of packaging material. So far cuts in the area of the packaging machine from a continuous web of the packaging material are produced by cutting, it is necessary to provide this packaging material wound into bobbins to a sufficient extent. Changing the bobbins in the area of the consumption position is time-consuming and tedious.
  • a number of bobbins lying next to one another on the same axis are kept ready in a trough-shaped storage holder.
  • the respective front bobbin or the consumption station facing it is located on a bobbin holder which is designed in the usual way so that the web of packaging material can be pulled off the bobbin.
  • the bobbins rest on conveyor belts within the supply holder, which feed the next one after each bobbin has been used.
  • the invention is based on the object of proposing a packaging machine which is provided with a storage holder of high capacity for bobbins and which enables used bobbins to be exchanged quickly and reliably for one from the supply.
  • the packaging machine according to the invention is characterized by a bobbin magazine with a plurality of bobbin holders which can be moved one after the other into a removal position.
  • the bobbin magazine is preferably a bobbin revolver formed, the trough-shaped bobbin holder are arranged on a support frame rotating in cycles about a preferably horizontal axis of rotation.
  • the arrangement of six bobbin holders is expediently axially parallel to one another and at equal angular distances from one another. Two adjacent bobbin holders are each in the removal position. The support frame with the bobbin holders is moved in cycles when the two bobbin holders are empty in the removal position.
  • the trough-shaped bobbin holders of the bobbin turret are designed in such a way that a plurality of bobbins which are coaxially juxtaposed are gripped and held exclusively on the circumference. Due to the high capacity, the total number of bobbins of the bobbin turret can be chosen so that the need for a working shift is covered. The packaging machine is therefore "loaded" only once before the start of the shift.
  • the bobbin holders in the region of the removal position are assigned (two) bobbin conveyors, which are responsible for transferring the bobbins from the bobbin holders to a bobbin holder (consumption station).
  • these bobbin conveyors are designed such that they each take over the entire contents of a bobbin holder and then feed the bobbins individually according to the consumption of the bobbin holder.
  • a packaging machine 20 is shown as a preferred application example, which is used, for example, for the production of (hard box) cigarette packs.
  • the packaging machine 20 shown in outline in FIG. 1 is equipped for this purpose with a conventional cigarette magazine 21, a folding turret 22 and other conventional organs.
  • the cigarettes formed in groups are first encased in an inner wrap made of tin foil or the like. Blanks for this are produced in the area of the packaging machine 20, specifically by cutting them off a continuously fed web 23 of the packaging material.
  • the web 23 in turn is drawn off from a bobbin 24, which is located in the area of a consumption station 25 for this purpose.
  • the production of the blanks and the packaging process take place in a known manner.
  • a powerful bobbin magazine 26 is assigned to the packaging machine 20. This is arranged in the area between the cigarette magazine 21 and the folding turret 22, namely where the cigarettes are wrapped in the inside wrap.
  • the bobbin magazine 26 consists of a bobbin turret 27, the consumption station 25 with two bobbin receptacles 28 and 29 and two bobbin conveyors 30 and 31 which can be moved back and forth between these and the bobbin turret 27.
  • the bobbin turret 27 is provided with a plurality of bobbin holders 32, 33, 34.
  • bobbin holders 32, 33, 34 are arranged on a common support frame 35. This is mounted on a journal 37 with pivot bearings 36.
  • the bobbin holders 32, 33, 34 are arranged at equal angular distances from one another on the support frame 35, which is driven to rotate in a vertical plane around the horizontal journal 37.
  • the arrangement has been made so fen that the two bobbin holders 33, 34 each lying at the top assume a removal position.
  • bobbins 24 are removed from the bobbin holders 33 and 34 and transferred to the consumption station 25 as required.
  • the bobbins 24 of these bobbin holders 33, 34 in the removal position lie essentially with their axes in a common horizontal plane.
  • each bobbin holder 32, 33, 34 is designed such that they grip and hold the bobbins 24 accommodated therein along an outer circumference that is greater than 180 °. This makes it possible to carry the bobbins 24 even with the bobbin holders 32 pointing downward.
  • each bobbin holder 32, 33, 34 consists of an arc-shaped outer support shell 38. These extend over an outer circumference of the bobbins 24, which is considerably larger than 180 °. However, the bobbins 24 protrude with a part of their circumference from the support shells 38 on the outer circumference of the bobbin turret 27.
  • Support members for the bobbins 24 are arranged within the support shells 38 at a circumferential distance from one another, in the present case three groups of support rollers 39, 40, 41. These are rotatably arranged on pins 42 in inwardly projecting bearing blocks 43 of the support shells 38.
  • the bobbins 24 each rest on the support rollers 39, 40, 41 in the manner of a three-point bearing.
  • the distance between the groups of the support rollers 39, 40, 41 in the circumferential direction is such that the bobbins 24 are adequately supported even with the bobbin holders 32 pointing downward.
  • each carrier shell 38 is equipped in the axial longitudinal direction with a large number of support rollers 39, 40, 41 lying close together in the region of each group.
  • the distance between these support rollers 39, 40, 41 is chosen so that each bobbin 24 inside half of a bobbin holder 32, 33, 34 is carried by two support rollers 39, 40, 41 per group.
  • the support rollers 39, 40, 41 also allow the bobbins 24 to be displaced in the axial direction of the bobbin holders 32, 33, 34. Cavities 44 and 45 are formed in each case between the groups of the support rollers 39, 40, 41.
  • the bobbin magazine 26 is arranged on the packaging machine 20 in such a way that the bobbin turret 27 lies on the back of the packaging machine 20.
  • the individual bobbin holders 32, 33, 34 can be loaded with bobbins 24 from the open back.
  • the journal 37 is connected to the machine frame of the packaging machine 20.
  • a gearwheel 46 arranged on the support frame 35 is cyclically driven by a pinion 47, namely by an angle corresponding to two bobbin holders 32, 33, 34.
  • the bobbins 24 located in the (upper) bobbin holders 33, 34 are transferred as required to the consumption station 25, namely to the bobbin holders 28 and 29 assigned to each bobbin holder 33, 34.
  • a hub 48, 49 facing the bobbin holders 33, 34 with the free side.
  • a bobbin 24 receives receptacles for the continuous removal of the web 23.
  • the two hubs 48 and 49 are on a traverse 50 arranged, which is connected via a support arm 51 to the machine frame.
  • FIG. 10 is a schematic of Manually operated web connector 52 shown that can be used in the present case.
  • the running web 23 runs over a lower deflecting roller 53, which at the same time forms a pivot bearing 54 for a pivotable, manually operated pressure jaw 55.
  • the free web end 56 of the new web 23 to be connected is fixed on this, by suction air via suction bores 57.
  • a second pressing jaw 58 can be pivoted equally about a pivot bearing 59 arranged parallel to the axis.
  • the pressing jaw 58 is pivoted counterclockwise in the present illustration into the position shown in broken lines.
  • the web 23, which is also held via suction bores 60, is taken along and cut off in the area of a stationary cutting knife 61 by a counter knife 62 arranged on the pressing jaw 58.
  • the now formed end of the running web 23 is pressed by the further moving pressure jaw 58 against the ready web end 56 and connected by adhesive or the like.
  • the web 23 adjoining the web end 56 is thus the running one.
  • the entirety of the bobbins 24 is taken from the bobbin holders 33 and 34 in the area of the consumption station 25.
  • the bobbin conveyors 30, 31 are each assigned to the bobbin holders 33, 34 in the upper position. These remove all the bobbins 24 from the bobbin holders 33, 34 and each deliver one - front - bobbin 24 to the bobbin holder 28 and 29, respectively.
  • the bobbin conveyors 30, 31 consist of a trough 63, which is adapted to the outer contour of the bobbins 24.
  • the trays 63 are slidably mounted on (two) support rods 66,67. The support rods extend from the bobbin turret 27 to directly into the area of the bobbin receptacles 28 and 29, namely beyond the hubs 48, 49.
  • the support troughs 63 and the support rods 66, 67 are mounted in such a way that when the bobbins 24 are taken over from the bobbin holders 33, 34 they can be nested, namely into the cavity 44, 45.
  • the relative position is such that that the support ribs 64, 65 lie in the plane of the peripheral surfaces of the reels 24, that is to say in the bearing plane predetermined by the support rollers 39, 40, 41.
  • the carrying recess 63 is formed on its underside with a rack 68 running in the longitudinal direction.
  • a pinion 69 which is mounted in or on the machine frame and is driven in a suitable manner, engages with this.
  • the support troughs 63 are formed with an extension piece 70 which is held by the support rods 66, 67 when the support troughs 63 are completely retracted into the reel holders 33, 34 to take up reels 24 (position according to FIG. 6).
  • the trays 63 have pawl-shaped drivers 71, 72, 73. These are each assigned to a bobbin 24, such that in the driving position a bobbin 24 on the one in För the direction of the rear side surface is detected.
  • the driver 71 engages the outer bobbin 24 on its end face.
  • Each trough 63 is equipped with two groups of such drivers 71, 72, 73. These are pivotably mounted outside of a space occupied by the bobbins 24 within the support recesses 63 and are designed as two-armed levers (FIG. 8).
  • a lever arm 74 is formed with a support surface 75 abutting the bobbin 24, while the other lever arm 76 is elastically supported by a (compression) spring 77.
  • the lever arms 74, 76 which are arranged at an angle to one another, result in an angled position of the drivers 71, 72, 73. A barbing effect results from the mounting and elastic support.
  • the drivers 71, 72, 73 are ineffective by pivoting (in FIG. 8 counterclockwise), while they perform a supporting or entraining function in the opposite relative movement.
  • the group of bobbins 24 is now conveyed out of the relevant bobbin holder 33, 34 into a position according to FIG. 5 as a result of the return movement (from right to left in FIG. 6) - provided that the associated bobbin holder 28, 29 is empty.
  • the bobbin 24 lying forward in the direction of movement is pushed onto the associated hub 48, 49, specifically by the conveying movement of the carrying recess 63.
  • the trough 63 moves back into a position which is shown, for example, in FIG. 2 in relation to the (upper) bobbin conveyor 30.
  • the subsequent bobbins 24 in the trough 63 and these themselves have a sufficient distance from the bobbin receptacle 28 and 29, so that the web 23 can be pulled off the bobbin 24 which is now in the working position.
  • the carrying trough 63 can now serve as a feed conveyor for the next bobbin 24 when the one previously pushed onto the hub 48, 49 has been used up. The same process then takes place with respect to the third bobbin 24 within the trough 63.
  • FIG. 7 shows how this last bobbin 24 is pushed onto the hub 48, 49 by the carrying recess 63 under the action of the drivers 73. In the previous return movement, further stops 79 come into effect, which likewise bring about a relative displacement of the bobbins 24 within the carrying recess 63.
  • the support recesses 63 are formed with a longitudinal groove 80, which enables entry into the reel holder 33, 34 by entry of the support rollers 40 or the associated bearing block 43 into this longitudinal groove 80.
  • the bobbin receptacle 28, 29 and the hub 48, 49 are also designed in a special way.
  • the bobbins 24 are usually provided with an inner, sleeve-shaped core 81, predominantly made of cardboard. This core 81 remains as a residue on the hub 48, 49 when the bobbin 24 is driven empty.
  • the bobbins 24 are held over the core 81 on the hub 48, 49, in the present exemplary embodiment by means of essentially radially movable, hook-shaped clamping jaws 82. Several of these, in the present exemplary embodiment two, are arranged opposite one another.
  • the clamping jaws 82 are designed as pivotable levers with hook-shaped ends.
  • the majority of the clamping jaws 82 is mounted within the hollow hub 48, 49, namely in a pivot bearing 83.
  • An actuating lever 84 which extends beyond this pivot bearing 83 and is connected to the respective clamping jaw 82, is connected to a common push rod 85. This emerges on the side opposite the bobbin 24 with a handle from the hub 48, 49.
  • the clamping jaws 82 are pivoted inwards in the present exemplary embodiment in such a way that the core 81 can be removed freely from the hub 48, 49.
  • the pivoting movement takes place against the load of a (compression) spring 86, which in the present case is arranged as a spreading spring between the two diametrically opposite clamping jaws 82.
  • a counter disc 87 is arranged, against which the bobbin 24 is pressed by the clamping jaws 82 while the web 23 is running.
  • the hook-shaped ends of the clamping jaws 82 can be designed with sharpened edges, such that they press into the material of the core 81 (cardboard) in the working position (FIG. 9) and thus hold it in a form-fitting manner and secure it against relative rotation.
  • the hub 48, 49 can be designed in a conventional manner.
