Definitions

  • the invention relates to a slide needle for stitch-forming textile machines, with a cross section of a substantially rectangular needle shaft, in which an essentially U-shaped longitudinal groove is formed, delimited by three surfaces, in which a slide part designed according to the groove cross section is guided so as to be longitudinally displaceable, the longitudinal groove is at least partially closed on its top by guide parts.
  • Such a slide needle is known from DE-A-2705605.
  • the longitudinal groove extends over approximately 2/3 of the length of the needle shaft and is closed over most of its length by elongated stop parts which limit the sliding path of the slide and which guide the slide on both sides of its foot and therefore act as guide parts.
  • the elongated stop or guide parts which are connected to the needle shaft by welding, riveting or the like and which seal the longitudinal groove, make this slide needle much more stable than slide needles with an open longitudinal groove, in which only parts of the slide covering over parts of the slide are provided to cover the slide.
  • an elongate recess aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the groove is arranged in the bottom surface of the longitudinal groove, through which fluff can escape into the longitudinal groove, so that jamming of the slide part due to fluff accumulation in the longitudinal groove be avoided.
  • the slide part which makes a reciprocating movement relative to the needle shaft, has a cleaning effect in the sense that during its longitudinal movement it repeatedly transports the fluff located in the longitudinal slot into the region of the recess and thus removes it from the longitudinal groove.
  • two transverse pins are located in the side cheeks of the needle shaft delimiting the longitudinal groove in front of and behind the recess used, which run through assigned slots in the slide part.
  • the longitudinal groove is open at the top over its entire length, the lateral stability of this needle is limited, particularly in the region of the recess.
  • sliding needles are also known (CH-A-215 641), in which the longitudinal groove arranged in the needle shaft is open over its entire length up to the area of the breast rise in the immediate vicinity of the needle hook towards the back of the shaft, with the one facing away from the back of the shaft A groove-like opening allowing the passage of the slide part is arranged only in the area of the needle face.
  • the shaft of this needle is through the groove-like opening just near the hook is laterally unstable, so that it can only absorb relatively small lateral forces.
  • the object of the invention is to create a slide needle which on the one hand has a very stable structure and can therefore absorb large forces, in particular on the side acting on the hook, without impairing their function, and on the other hand a perfect lint removal from the longitudinal groove is ensured, so that trouble-free operation is guaranteed even when processing strong lint-forming threads or yarns over long periods of operation.
  • the slide needle mentioned at the outset is characterized according to the invention in that the longitudinal groove has at least one recess which penetrates one of the three surfaces delimiting it and is aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the groove, and in that the guide parts have a guide web arranged in the region of the respective recess.
  • the recess can, as is known per se, be arranged in the base surface of the longitudinal groove, but the arrangement can also be such that the recess is provided in only one side surface of the longitudinal groove or that recesses are present in both side surfaces of the longitudinal groove .
  • the mutually opposite recesses can also be arranged laterally offset from one another in the longitudinal direction of the groove, which is favorable in terms of stability. It is also conceivable that the mutually opposite recesses are at least partially overlapping.
  • the guide web is arranged symmetrically to the recess assigned to it. It can be rigidly connected to the shaft cheeks delimiting the longitudinal groove on both sides and molded onto it, for example in one piece.
  • the guide web is formed on only one of the shaft cheeks delimiting the longitudinal groove, for example by flanging this shaft cheek at a right angle in the region of its upper edge.
  • Simple manufacturing relationships result if the two-part guide web is formed on the two shaft cheeks delimiting the longitudinal groove and its two parts are arranged parallel to one another on their free longitudinal edges.
  • the two-part guide web can be formed by flanging the two cheeks; the web parts formed on the two shaft cheeks not only act as guide elements for the slide part, but at the same time also as stiffening ribs which increase the stability of the slide needle.
  • the slide needle shown in the figures in various embodiments each has a needle shaft 1 which is essentially rectangular in cross section and which carries on one side a needle hook 2 which adjoins the needle shaft via an obliquely rising needle breast 3.
  • the needle shaft on the back at 4 is provided with a recess running towards the hook 2.
  • an essentially U-shaped longitudinal groove 5 is formed, in which a the cross section of the longitudinal groove 5 adapted slide part 6 is guided to be longitudinally displaceable.
  • the slide part 6 is chamfered so that it can cover the tip of the needle hook 2 in the driven-out state and thus close the needle hook.
  • the slide part 6 carries a known foot, not shown in the drawing, which projects beyond the edges of the longitudinal groove 5 and can interact with a corresponding lock channel.
  • an elongated recess 9 is formed which is aligned parallel to the longitudinal axis of the groove and is delimited on both sides by obliquely or slightly curved surfaces 10, 11 which run inwards and which is used to remove fluff entering the interior of the longitudinal groove 5.
  • a thin guide web 12 is provided on the needle shaft 1, which is integrally formed on both sides of the shaft cheeks 13, 14 (FIG. 2) delimiting the longitudinal groove 5.
  • the slide part 6 is guided in the longitudinal groove 5 together with the bottom surface 8 and the side surfaces of the longitudinal groove 5 in a longitudinally displaceable manner.
  • the guide web 12 ensures a high stability of the needle shaft 1 even in the area of the weakening zone caused by the recess 9.
  • the length of the guide web 12 is at least equal to one fifth of the length of the recess 9.
  • FIGS. 5 to 7 essentially corresponds to that according to FIGS. 1 to 4.
  • the same reference numerals designate the same parts, the further explanation of which is unnecessary.
  • the guide web 12 is formed in two parts, its two parts 12a, 12b each being integrally formed on the shaft cheek associated with them and delimiting the longitudinal groove 5, by the shaft cheeks 13, 14 being bent or flanged at right angles in the region of their upper edges.
  • the two cheek pieces 13, 14 end at the rear of the guide bar 12 - at 17 - while in the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4 they extend over a larger part of the needle shaft length 1 to the guide bar 12.
  • the needle shaft 1 of the above-described embodiments of the slide needle can also have a plurality of recesses 9 arranged one behind the other with an associated guide web 12.
  • the recess 9 leading outward from the longitudinal groove 5 is not in the base area 8 of the longitudinal groove 5, but provided in one or both side surfaces of the longitudinal groove 5.
  • the arrangement is such that in each of the two shaft cheeks 13, 14 delimiting the longitudinal groove 5 there is in each case an elongated recess 9a or 9b parallel to the longitudinal axis of the groove, the two recesses 9a , 9b are arranged offset in the longitudinal direction of the shaft in the manner shown in FIG. 10 and only overlap somewhat at 18.
  • the longitudinal groove 5 is closed on the side facing away from the needle shaft back by the guide web 12, which is integrally formed on the two cheek pieces 13, 14 and is arranged symmetrically to the two recesses 9a, 9b such that its central axis coincides with the central axis of the overlapping region 18 coincides.
  • each of the recesses 9a, 9b its own guide web 12, which is then provided - possibly symmetrically - above the respective recess 9a or 9b.
  • the two recesses 9a, 9b each extend up to the base 8 of the longitudinal groove 5, so that there is a step-free exit surface for the fluff which has roughly entered the longitudinal groove 5.
