Description

  • Die Erfindung betrifft eine Dichtungsbahn aus mindestens einer Schicht auf der Basis von Mischpolymerisaten aus Äthylen und Propylen mit oder ohne Ter-Komponente (EPDM/ EPM), wobei die Mischpolymerisate einen Äthylengehalt von mindestens 50 % und phys:kalische Vernetzungsstellen aufweisen und mit einem Verstärkerharz versetzt sind.
  • Ein derartiges Material ist aus der DE-A-1 669 886 bekannt. Die dort beschriebenen Massen sind jedoch noch mit an sich bekannten Vulkanisationszusätzen vermischt und werden anschließend vulkanisiert. Bei Verwendung derartiger vulkanisierter Massen, bei denen ein Verstärkerharz zur Erhöhung der Festigkeit zugemischt wird, ergeben sich jedoch Schwierigkeiten bei der Verwendung als Dichtungsbahnen, beispielsweise für Flachdächer, da hierbei die Verbindung benachbarter Bahnen nur mit erheblichem Aufwand und unter Schwierigkeiten möglich ist.
  • Ferner ist aus der DE-A-2 219 147 eine Dichtungsbahn aus elastomerem Werkstoff bekannt, die einen hohen Anteil EPDM vom Sequenztyp aufweist, darüberhinaus aber 20 - 30 Gew.-% Bitumen enthält, das die Eigenschaften und Festigkeiten des elastomeren Grundwerkstoffes wesentlich beeinflußt. Schließlich ist aus der DE-B-2 628 741 eine mehrschichtige Dichtungsbahn bekannt, deren innere Schicht vulkanisierbar ist, deren Außenschichten aber aus nicht beschleunigten, jedoch ebenfalls vulkanisierbaren Materialien bestehen, so daß diese Bahn thermisch und/oder durch Lösungs- bzw. Quellmittel verschweißbar ist. Nachteilig bei dieser Bahn ist die relativ kurze Lagerfähigkeit, da der hohe Beschleunigeranteil der mittleren Schicht nach außen wandert und somit auch die äußeren Schichten durchvulkanisieren kann.
  • Demgegenüber liegt der vorliegenden Erfindung die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Dichtungsbahn der eingangs genannten Art zu schaffen, die die vorteilhaften elastomeren Eigenschaften aufweist, aber dennoch thermoplastisch verarbeitbar ist, ohne daß diese Verarbeitbarkeit auch nach längerer Lagerung eingeschränkt wird.
  • Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, daß die Mischung aus Mischpolymerisaten und Verstärkerharz vulkanisationsbeschleunigerfrei ist und durch Wärmebehandlung ein interpenetrierendes Netzwerk aus chemisch unvernetzem EPDM/EPM und einem chemisch vernetzten Verstärkerharz bilden, wodurch das Material thermisch und/ oder durch Lösungs- bzw. Quellmittel verschweißbar ist.
  • Zweckmäßige Ausgestaltungen sind in den Unteransprüchen genannt.
  • Die mit der Erfindung erzielten Vorteile beruhen insbesondere auf folgendem: Die Dachbahn besteht aus unvulkanisiertem EPDM und/oder EPM, das nur physikalisch vernetzt ist sowie einem chemisch vernetzten Verstärkerharz, das lediglich als eigenständiges Netzwerk um das physikalisch Vernetzte des EPDM verschlungen ist, wodurch sich ein interpenetrierendes Netzwerk aus beiden Komponenten bildet. Das EPDM/EPM ist in der angegebenen Zusammensetzung nicht nur nicht vulkanisiert, sondern durch das Fehlen von Vernetzungsmitteln, Vulkanisationsbeschleunigern und Vulkanisationshilfsmitteln ist es auch nicht vulkanisierbar. Dadurch behält der Kautschuk seine thermoplastischen Eigenschaften und die entsprechenden Dichtungsbahnen können thermisch oder mittels geeigneter Lösungsmittel verschweißt werden.
  • Die Mischung wird in üblicher Weise in einem Kneter hergestellt; aus dieser Mischung wird z.B. auf einem Kalander bei 135°C die Folie gezogen, deren Dicke etwa 0,6 mm beträgt. Die anschließende Wärmebehandlung erfolgt dann bei etwa 160° C auf einer Auma.
  • Auch bei der zusätzlichen Verwendung eines Flächengebildes aus textilem Material, beispielsweise eines leichten Polyester-Gittergewebes, zur Stabilisierung der Dichtungsbahn bereitet die Herstellung keine Probleme, da dann lediglich zwei Folien auf die angegebene Weise gezogen werden müssen, die als Schichtengebilde Folie/Flächengebilde/-Folie auf der Auma zusammengebracht und wärmebehandelt werden.
  • Anhand einer schematischen Zeichnung sind Ausführungsbeispiele der Anordnung und Verlegung der erfindungsgemäßen Dichtungsbahn näher erläutert. Dabei zeigen:
    • Fig. 1 benachbarte Dichtungsbahnen in überlappender Verlegung;
    • Fig. 2 Stoß an Stoß verlegte Dichtungsbahnen mit Verbindung durch ein Abdeckband;
    • Fig. 3 die Anordnung zweier Dichtungsbahnen mit Verbindung durch eine elastische Dehnfuge;
    • Fig. 4 eine Aufsicht auf drei aneinanderstoßende Dichtungsbahnen mit sogenanntem T-Stoß;
    • Fig. 5 einen Schnitt durch den Stoßbereich entsprechend der Schnittlinie V-V nach Fig. 4;
    • Fig. 6 einen Schnitt durch den Stoßbereich entsprechend der Schnittlinie VI-VI nach Fig. 4 und
    • Fig. 7 einen Schnitt durch drei benachbarte Abdeckbahnen in überlappender Anordnung mit einer unterseitigen Vlies schicht.
  • Die erfindungsgemäße Dichtungsbahn kann beispielsweise nach folgender Rezeptur hergestellt werden:
    • 100 Gewichtsteile EPDM oder EPM (vom Sequenztyp) 7 Gewichtsteile Polyisobutylen
    • 11 Gewichtsteile Chlorparaffin
    • 5 Gewichtsteile Antimontrioxid
    • 14 Gewichtsteile Cumaronharz
    • 14 Gewichtsteile Bitumen
    • 84 Gewichtsteile Ruß
    • 71 Gewichtsteile Calziumcarbonat
    • 5 Gewichtsteile Fettsäure
    • 9 Gewichtsteile Verstärkerharz (Novolak)
    • 1,4 Gewichtsteile Hexamethylentetramin
  • Diese Mischung, die durch Verwendung von Antimontrioxid und Chlorparaffin bereits flammwidrig eingestellt ist, wird im Gi-Kneter hergestellt und dann auf einem Kalander bei ca. 135°C als Folie mit einer Dicke von etwa 0,65 mm gezogen.
  • Bei der anschließenden Verarbeitung und Wärmebehandlung dieses Folien-Rohlings auf der Stahlband-Auma bei 160-180°C bildet sich das interpenetrierende Netzwerk zwischen den EPDM-Molekülen und dem Verstärkerharz, wobei die guten Eigenschaften des EPDM und seine thermoplastische Verarbeitbarkeit erhalten bleiben.
  • Dieses Material, das eine Dichte von 1,32 g/cm3 und eine Shore-A-Härte von 78 hat, weist darüber hinaus eine hohe Wärmestabilität auf.
  • In der Zeichnung zeigt Fig. 1 die Anordnung zweier beispielsweise auf einem Dach verlegter Dichtungsbahnen 1 und 2, wobei die Dichtungsbahn 2 die Dichtungsbahn 1 in einem schmalen Randbereich 3 überlappt. Die Verbindung dieser beiden Bahnen 1 und 2 erfolgt dabei entweder durch Erwärmung des Überlappungsbereichs 3 oder nach Einstreichen dieses Bereichs mit einer geeigneten Quellschweißlösung, so daß beide Bahnen 1 und 2 mechanisch fest miteinander verschweißen.
  • Fig. 2 zeigt die beiden Dichtungsbahnen 1 und 2 Stoß an Stoß verlegt, wobei der Stoß 4 von einem dünneren Abdeckband 5 aus gleichem oder ähnlichem Material überdeckt und mit den beiden Bahnen 1 und 2 in vorstehend beschriebener Weise thermisch oder quellverschweißt ist.
  • In Fig. 3 ist die Verlegung zweier Dichtungsbahnen 1 und 2 unter Bildung einer Dehnfuge dargestellt. Dabei sind die beiden Bahnen 1 und 2 mit Abstand voneinander verlegt, wobei die dadurch entstehende Fuge durch ein elastisches Abdeckband 6 überdeckt ist, das zweischichtig aufgebaut ist und aus einer oberen Schicht 7 vulkanisierten EPDM's und einer unteren Schicht 8 des erfindungsgemäßen Dichtungsbandmaterials besteht, wobei beide Schichten gemeinsam über die Auma gezogen und dort fest miteinander verbunden sind. Damit behält das Abdeckband 6 insgesamt die elastischen Eigenschaften vulkanisierten EPDM's und bildet somit eine Dehnfuge mit den beiden Dichtungsbahnen 1 und 2. Die Verbindung mit diesen Bahnen erfolgt dann in gleicher Weise durch thermische oder Quellverschweißung.
  • Fig. 4 zeigt einen sogenannten T-Stoß zwischen drei Dichtungsbahnen 10, 11 und 12, die sich gegenseitig überlappen. Wie dabei aus den Schnitten nach Fig. 5 und 6 zu ersehen ist, überlappt im Stoßbereich die Dichtungsbahn 10 die anschließende Bahn 12 auf der Oberseite, während die Bahn 11 die beiden anderen Bahnen 10 und 12 auf der Unterseite überlappt. Die im gestrichelt gezeichneten Überlappungsbereich 13 eventuell auftretende Fuge 14 (Fig. 5) kann mit einer entsprechenden Nahtpaste geeigneter Zusammensetzung zusätzlich verschlossen und abgedichtet werden.
  • In Fig. 7 ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Anordnung von drei nebeneinanderliegenden Dichtungsbahnen 15, 16 und 17 gezeigt, die auf der Unterseite mit einem Vlies 18, 19 und 20 versehen sind. Durch dieses Vlies wird erreicht, daß beispielsweise bei der Abdichtung von Schrägdächern eine gute Haftung zu einem auf dem Untergrund aufgebrachten Bitumenstrich gewährleistet ist, um beispielsweise ein Abrutschen der Dichtungsbahn zu verhindern. Für eine thermische oder Quellschweißverbindung der verlegten Dichtungsbahnen 15, 16 und 17 ist es dabei zweckmäßig, daß der jeweilige Überlappungsbereich frei von dem Vlies 18, 19 bzw. 20 ist, d.h. daß das Vlies sich nicht über die gesamte Breite der jeweiligen Dichtungsbahn erstreckt, so daß eine einwandfreie Verbindung der Bahnen möglich ist.
  • Darüber hinaus sind die hier dargestellten Dichtungsbahnen noch mit einer Verstärkungsschicht aus einem textilen Material, beispielsweise einem leichten Polyestergittergewebe 21 versehen, das bei der Wärmebehandlung der Dichtungsbahnen leicht in diese eingebracht werden kann. Dazu werden zwei beispielsweise auf dem Kalander entsprechend der oben angegebenen Rezeptur gezogenen Folien mit dem zwischengelegten Gittergewebe gemeinsam auf die Auma gezogen und dort dauerhaft miteinander verbunden. Dadurch ergibt sich eine zusätzliche mechanische Festigkeit der Dichtungsbahnen.

Claims (10)

1. Dichtungsbahn aus mindestens einer Schicht auf der Basis von Mischpolymerisaten aus Äthylen und Propylen mit oder ohne Ter-Komponente (EPDM/EPM), wobei die Mischpolymerisate einen Athylengehalt von mindestens 50 % und physikalische Vernetzungsstellen aufweisen und mit einem Verstärkerharz versetzt sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Mischung aus Mischpolymerisaten und Verstärkerharz vulkanisationsbeschleunigerfrei ist und durch Wärmebehandlung ein interpenetrierendes Netzwerk aus chemisch unvernetztem EPDM/EPM und einem chemisch vernetzten Verstärkerharz bildet, wodurch das Material thermisch und/ oder durch Lösungs- bzw. Quellmittel verschweißbar ist.
2. Dichtungsbahn nach Anspruch 1, gekennzeichnet durch 5 bis 15 Gew.-Teile Verstärkerharz und 0,5 bis 2 Gew.-Teile eines Formaldehyd-Donors auf 100 Gew.-Teile EPDM/EPM.
3. Dichtungsbahn nach einem der Ansprüche 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Verstärkerharze Phenolharze verwendet werden.
4. Dichtungsbahn nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Phenolharze Novolake verwendet werden.
5. Dichtungsbahn nach einem der Ansprüche 3 oder 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, das als Formaldehyd-Donor Hexamethylentetramin verwendet wird.
6. Dichtungsbahn nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß zwischen zwei Abdeckbahnschichten eine Verstarkungsschicht insbesondere aus textilem Material oder aus Glasfasern, angeordnet ist.
7. Dichtungsbahn nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Verstärkungsschicht ein Gewebe, insbesondere ein Gittergewebe, vorgesehen ist.
8. Dichtungsbahn nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß auf die Unterseite zumindest abschnittsweise eine Vliesschicht aufkaschiert ist.
9. Dichtungsbahn nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, gekennzeichnet durch Kombination mit einer Schicht aus vulkanisiertem EPDM/EPM.
10. Verwendung der Dichtungsbahn nach Anspruch 9 als streifenförmige Dehnfuge.
