- connecting wires also called plug-in wires
- connecting wires are used as connecting means for the wire coils, such a connecting wire is manually pushed into the tubular channel, which forms the last pair of coils, from one side. If the turns of the wire coils are not aligned so evenly that they form a straight tubular channel of uniform cross section, the connecting wire can no longer be inserted. If a wire helix is in the wrong position, it can no longer be straightened out by the connecting wire, since the windings cling to each other and hold in a fixed position. For these reasons, one had to keep the inside diameter of the winding head bends larger or the diameter of the connecting wires smaller than would have been desirable in view of the intended use and the service life of the wire link strips to be produced.
