- a dipole antenna for a portable radio is known (DE-OS 19 33 150), which firstly requires a device housing made of conductive material because part of the housing is required to form the antenna, and secondly has a conductor arrangement which has the space for other electrical components reduced.
- the dipole antenna according to the invention with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that the entire inner surface of the radio can be used for the formation of the antenna. Further advantages can be seen that the antenna is largely insensitive to body contact and that no damping of the dipole by electrical components and their shielding occurs because these components themselves form part of the antenna.
- a radio device equipped with the dipole antenna according to the invention which preferably operates in a frequency range between 80 MHz and 1 GHz, has a comparatively high sensitivity.
- a dipole antenna according to the invention is particularly advantageous in which the electrical separation between the two dipole halves is selected in terms of circuitry in such a way that the smallest possible number of conductor tracks is interrupted. In this way, the manufacture of the dipole antenna is simplified and electrical interference is avoided.
- a dash-dotted line denotes an insulating housing 10 of a radio receiver to be carried, for example, in the hand or on the body.
- the housing contains a circuit board 11, which is a copper-clad insulating material plate with conductor tracks and conductor surfaces 12, 13 and with various construction stages and components of the radio receiver.
- a high-frequency amplifier 14, a demodulator 15, a low-frequency amplifier 16 and optionally a loudspeaker 17 are arranged on the printed circuit board 11.
- Two dipole halves 18 and 19 which are electrically insulated from one another and consist of the conductor surfaces 12 and 13 separated from one another by a gap 20 are used as the antenna; these are preferably shielding surfaces, in connection with the construction stages and components arranged in the region of the conductor surfaces 12 and 13 and, if appropriate on the back of the circuit board existing conductor tracks 28 (Fig. 3). Any existing shielding housings of the construction stages also contribute to the formation of the dipole halves.
- the upper conductor surface 12 of the first dipole half 18 is connected via a coupling capacitor 21 to a first input of the high-frequency amplifier 14, the second input of which is directly at the potential of the lower conductor surface 13.
- an electrical isolation of the radio device circuit is also required.
- the separation takes place, for example, between the output of the demodulator 15 and the input of the LF amplifier 16 if the division is made as in FIG. 1, that is to say if the high-frequency amplifier 14 and demodulator 15 are connected to the conductor surface 13 and LF amplifier 16 and Loudspeakers 17 are arranged in the area of the printed circuit board 11 belonging to the conductor surface 12. Electrical bridging takes place via a high-resistance resistor 22.
- the electrical separation of line 23 between demodulator 15 and LF amplifier 16 is symbolically indicated by contacts 24, 25.

- the negative pole 39 of the battery 30 is connected directly to the conductor surface 13.
- the conductor surface 12 receives the negative potential via a coil 40 of the dipole tuning circuit 29.
- the coils 35 and 40 can be arranged together on a coil body 41 fastened to the printed circuit board, it being possible under certain circumstances to wind both coils as a bifilar coil.
- the bifilar coil then results in a perfect separation of the DC circuit and the high-frequency circuit.
