Definitions

  • the invention relates to a folding door according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a folding door is known (e.g. DE-A No. 2829912). It is used in particular in factories and warehouses and has the advantage that it can be used to close relatively wide door openings, the space required to open the door leaves, two of which are generally provided, and the space required for the open ones Gate wing space is relatively small. When the gate is opened, it is folded so that its segments lie against each other. The opening is usually carried out with the aid of an opening device which mechanically opens the door leaves and is controlled, for example, by a light barrier which responds when a vehicle approaches the folding door.
  • the supporting structures of the individual segments are designed as rigid frames, which also have sections along the mutually facing edges of the two segments. Between these sections of the supporting structures there are several hinges distributed over the height of the folding door, which provide the articulated connection between the first segment and the second segment and also bear the entire weight of the second segment and lead into the supporting structure of the first segment.
  • the guide roller running in the running rail arrangement is supported only in a horizontal plane on the running rail arrangement and ensures that the end of the upper edge of the second segment facing away from the first segment follows the desired path determined by the running rail arrangement when opening and closing.
  • the invention has for its object to design the generic folding door in such a way that the repair effort in the event of bumps against the folding door is reduced.
  • the segment filling of the second segment is suspended from the swivel arm, which is located at the upper edge of the second segment, the support structure of the second segment preferably consisting exclusively of the swivel arm. Due to the design according to the invention, a load-bearing connection between the two segments on their mutually facing edges and essentially over their entire height can be dispensed with, so that impacts against the segment filling of the second segment are practically not transmitted to the first segment and consequently cannot damage it.
  • the design according to the invention also ensures that the weight of the second segment is borne in approximately equal parts by the running rail arrangement and by the first segment.
  • the load on the first segment by the second segment is reduced in the folding door according to the invention. So that the entire weight of the second segment at the articulated connection between the swivel arm and the supporting structure of the first segment is not introduced into it due to unfavorable tolerance or due to alignment errors despite the support of the swivel arm at its other end on the running track arrangement, the inventive folding door provides that the swivel arm can be moved around a horizontal axis relative to the first segment in addition to a vertical axis, so that the swivel arm can hang freely between the two supports at its two ends and a static overdetermination is avoided, which means that the supporting structure of the structure is more dimensioned first segment would require.
  • segment filling of the second segment is suspended on the swivel arm does not exclude that the segment filling of the second segment is directly connected to the first segment, provided that the latter connection is not a vertical and / or horizontal forces suitable connection, but, for example, only about flexible sealing strips or sleeves, which are intended to seal the gap between the two segments.
  • the supporting structure of the first segment comprises a rigid, L-shaped frame, one leg of which runs vertically on or parallel to the axis of the gate wing bearing and the other leg of which runs horizontally along the upper edge of the first segment and has at its free end the articulated connection with one end of the swivel arm.
  • the supporting structures of the gate wing are arranged exclusively along the edges of the gate opening and thus in an area where the risk of being hit directly is the lowest, and also the distance from the most frequently hit area of the folding door, which is located near the free edge of the second segment at the bottom is largest.
  • this L-shaped frame as the supporting structure of the first segment the introduction of approximately half the weight of the second segment into the running track arrangement and thus the partial relief of the weight of the second segment from the first segment is particularly advantageous because the horizontal leg accordingly can be weaker.
  • the segment fillings are webs made of a flexible material. Soft PVC or rubber are particularly suitable for this.
  • the segment fillings can also consist of two rigid plates arranged one above the other, the lower plate being suspended from the upper plate in each case. In this case too, the principle is maintained that, at least in the second segment, the segment filling is carried by the swivel arm and there is no load-bearing connection between the two mutually facing edges of the first and second segments, but at the same time there is the possibility due to the rigid construction of the plates, use the folding door as a lockable outer door.
  • the folding gate according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 is first described below.
  • the folding door shown is located in or in front of a door opening, not shown, along whose upper boundary a running rail arrangement 2 is fastened, which essentially consists of two parallel, straight, horizontally running running rails 4 and 6, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • a gate wing bearing which consists of a lower pivot bearing 8 and an upper pivot bearing 10, which together define a vertical axis 12, about which a gate wing, generally designated 14, can be pivoted, which closed state closes half of the door opening.
  • the gate wing 14 consists of a first segment 16 on the left in FIG. 1 and a second segment 18 on the right in FIG. 1.
  • the two segments 16 and 18 have an essentially rectangular outline.
  • the first segment 16 has a segment filling 20 in the form of a web made of an elastic, flexible material, for example made of soft PVC, which extends practically over the entire height and the entire width of the first segment 16.
  • the first segment 16 comprises a supporting structure in the form of an L-shaped frame 22, which consists of a vertical leg 24 and a horizontal leg 26 which is fixedly connected to the vertical leg 24 at the upper end and which is to the right in FIG. 1 from the vertical leg 24 goes out.
  • the vertical leg 24 is rotatably supported at its two ends in the bearings 8 and 10.
  • a strip 28 or 30 is attached, for example by welding.
  • the two strips 28 and 30 serve to fasten the segment filling 20 to them, for example with the aid of a few screws, not shown, on the left and upper edge of the segment filling 20 in FIG. 1.
  • the supporting structure of the first segment 16 which consists of the frame 22, extends exclusively along the left and upper edge of the segment 16 in FIG. 1 and has no elements on the lower and right edge of the segment 16.
  • the support structure of the first segment 16 thus runs exclusively along the edge of the gate opening, not shown, i. H. in an area to which practically no direct impacts are exerted.
  • FIG. 1 At the right end of the horizontal leg 26 in FIG. 1 there is a pin 32 on which an opening device for the folding door engages, of which only a pneumatic cylinder 34 is shown in FIG. 1, which, depending on the loading, the first segment 16 either in the closed position shown pivots or brings it out of this into an open position, not shown.
  • a pneumatic cylinder 34 is shown in FIG. 1, which, depending on the loading, the first segment 16 either in the closed position shown pivots or brings it out of this into an open position, not shown.
  • the precise design of the opening device is not important for understanding the invention.
  • the second segment 18 of the gate wing 14 comprises a segment filling 36 which, like the segment filling 20, consists of a sheet made of a flexible, elastic material and which extends practically over the entire height and width of the second segment 18. It can be seen that the segment panels 20 and 36 overlap in the region of their mutually facing edges and that the right edge 30 of the segment panel 36 in FIG. 1 extends such that there is an overlap with the corresponding segment panel 40 of the otherwise not shown right gate wing when the folding door is closed.
  • the second segment 18 comprises a rigid, essentially straight swivel arm 42, which can be made for example from a profile tube.
  • the swivel arm 42 runs along the upper edge of the second segment 18 and thus the segment filling 36, which is fastened to the swivel arm 42 with the aid of a strip 44 which is welded to the rest of the swivel arm 42.
  • the connection between the strip 44 and the segment filling 36 effect some screws, not shown.
  • the entire weight of the segment filling 36 is borne by the swivel arm 42, on which the segment filling 36 is only suspended, so that no further supporting construction sections along the two lateral edges or along the lower edge of the segment 18 are necessary for carrying the segment filling 36. Due to the described design of the segment filling 36 and the swivel arm 42 and the described connection between the swivel arm and the segment filling, the segment filling is articulated on the swivel arm 42, because the elasticity and flexibility of the material from which the segment filling 36 is made allows the segment filling to pivot forward or backward, its area near the bar 44 being slightly bent without any significant forces being introduced into the pivot arm 42.
  • the swivel arm 42 is articulated at its left end in FIG. 1 to the free end of the horizontal leg 26.
  • the design of this articulated connection is shown in detail in FIG. 2.
  • a bearing pin 52 is inserted into the bearing bore 48, the axis of which extends in the vertical direction and defines the pivot axis between the first segment 16 and the second segment 18.
  • the bearing pin 52 is fastened at its upper and at its lower end in tabs 54, of which only the lower tab 54 can be seen in FIG. 2 and which in turn are attached to the free end of the leg 26.
  • This design makes it possible to pivot the intermediate piece 46 in a horizontal plane around the bearing pin 52 and thus relative to the leg 26.
  • the other bearing bore 50 has a horizontal axis which runs at a certain distance from the axis of the bearing bore 48.
  • a bearing pin 56 is inserted, which is fastened with its two ends to the left end of the pivot arm 42 in FIGS. 1 and 2, so that the pivot arm 42 can be pivoted in a vertical plane relative to the intermediate piece 46.
  • the articulated connection described above is thus such that the swivel arm 42 can be moved relative to the leg 26 and thus to the frame 22 in addition to a vertical axis, namely the axis of the bearing pin 52, and also about a horizontal axis, namely the axis of the bearing pin 56.
  • the swivel arm 42 is suspended from a carriage 58, as is shown in more detail in FIG. 3.
  • a short transverse arm 60 extends perpendicular to the plane of the drawing in FIG. 1 and a vertically extending rod 62 is fastened to the free end thereof.
  • a guide roller 64 is rotatably mounted at the level of the two guide rails 4 and 6, which is guided by the two guide rails 4 and 6 in a horizontal plane, so that the guide roller 64 can only follow the straight path defined by the guide rail arrangement 2 . This also defines the path of movement of the right edge of the second segment 18 in FIG. 1 when the folding door is opened and closed.
  • the rod 62 is articulated on the carriage 58 by means of a suitable joint (not shown in detail) in such a way that the rod 62 can be pivoted in all directions with respect to the carriage 58 within a certain range.
  • the connection between the rod 62 and the carriage 58 is, however, such that it can introduce vertical forces from the transverse arm 60 and thus from the swivel arm 42 into the carriage 58, which in turn by means of rollers 66, which are on the upper sides of the rails 4 and 6 can run, introduces into the running rails and thus into the running rail arrangement 2.
  • the swivel arm 42 is thus suspended at both ends, namely on the one hand with the help of the carriage 58 on the running rail arrangement 2 and on the other hand with the aid of the intermediate piece 46 on the frame 22. Due to the fact that the swivel arm 42 on the frame 22 also is pivotable in a vertical plane, which is made possible in the illustrated embodiment by the pin bearing with the bearing pin 56 and the bearing bore 50, the swivel arm 42 assumes a position such that the weight of the second segment 18 is evenly corresponding to the geometry of the second segment 18 the two supports of the swivel arm 42 are distributed, so that the frame 22 only has to be dimensioned such that it can carry the weight portion of the second segment 18 which is attributable to it.
  • the supporting structures of the two segments 16 and 18 are arranged exclusively in the region of the edges of the gate opening or the edges of the gate leaf and thus outside the region in which there is the greatest risk of damage.
  • the two segments 16 and 18 are not connected to one another in a load-bearing manner along their mutually facing edges, so that no greater forces can be transmitted from one segment to the other in this region.
  • This does not conflict with the fact that, for example, at the lower edge of the gate wing 14, the two segment fillings 20 and 36 are connected to one another, for example by means of an elastic tab 68, which is intended to prevent the two segment fillings 20 and 26 from overlapping incorrectly, but which is stronger would not withstand their shock loads.
  • the segment filling 36 of the second segment 18 consists of two rigid, rectangular plates 74 and 76, which are arranged one above the other, the lower plate 76 being suspended from the upper plate 74, which in turn is suspended from the bar 44 is.
  • the respective suspensions are not stiff, so that, for example, the lower plate 76 can be pivoted relative to the upper plate 74 without the upper plate 74 also being moved.
  • the segment fill 20 of the first segment 16 consists of two rectangular rigid plates 70 and 72, the upper of which is attached to the strips 30 and 22, while the lower plate 72 is attached to the strip 28 and also the upper Plate 70 is hung.
  • the fastenings of the plates 70 and 72 to the strips 30 and 28 are preferably such that in the event of impacts on the plates 70 and 72, the fastening means break before the strips 28 and 30 and the frame 22 are damaged.
  • the rigid plates 70, 72, 74 and 76 make it possible to use a folding door made of two door leaves of the type shown in FIG. 4 as a closable or lockable outer door. At the same time, however, it is possible, in the event of damage to the gate wing, to replace the respectively damaged plate without the corresponding segment or even both segments with their supporting structures having to be exchanged or repaired at the same time.
