Abstract

L'invention concerne la pilotage automatique d'une machine le long des bords d'un objet tel une feuille de verre, en vue du travail de ces bords ou de régions de la surface de l'objet repérables par rapport aux bords.
L'invention propose un procédé de pilotage d'une telle machine dans laquelle la position de l'outil de travail monté sur un chariot mobile dans deux directions perpendiculaires est déterminé par un programme, ce programme étant établi à l'aide d'un organe de palpage des bords de l'objet à travailler, articulé sur le chariot qui porte l'outil de travail, monté à l'avant de ce chariot, et qui relève les coordonnées des points du trajet que devra suivre l'outil de travail. Les valeurs ainsi relevées sont transformées en signaux, stockés dans un registre à décalage puis utilisés pour commander les moteurs d'entraínement du chariot qui porte l'outil de travail.
L'invention est applicable au pilotage d'une machine de meulage des bords de feuilles de verre.
