Definitions

  • the invention relates to a clamping device with a guide rail, along which a first clamping arm is slidably guided and one end of which carries a second clamping arm which can be pivoted and locked in the direction of the first clamping arm by means of a clamping lever.
  • clamping devices are often referred to as grip pliers.
  • the tensioning arm which is displaceable on the guide rail, is formed by a forged part which has a breakthrough-like guide opening which is penetrated by the guide rail and which can be fixed by tilting during tensioning on the guide rail.
  • the second, pivotable clamping arm is essentially formed by a sheet metal part of high-strength steel with a U-shaped cross section, which overlaps one end of the guide rail and is articulated directly on the guide rail.
  • the pivoting and fixing of the second clamping arm e.g. B. in DE-OS 28 06 555 of the applicant described clamping mechanism which is fixedly attached to the guide rail and has a clamping lever articulated on the second clamping arm.
  • the invention had for its object to provide a gripper-like clamping device that can be used even more universally than the known grip pliers described above, and starting from a clamping device of the type mentioned above, this object can be achieved according to the invention in that at least two first on the guide rail Clamping arms are slidably guided, each of which has a guide piece which is penetrated by the guide rail and can be fixed thereon, and that the free ends of the first clamping arms are arranged at a distance from one another in the transverse direction.
  • Such a clamping device can also be used to clamp objects which are at different distances from one another at locations spaced from one another in the clamping direction, and such a clamping device can also be used, for example, when two objects of different height are to be used to connect them, for example by welding or soldering. If you want to forego the advantage of simply putting on and fixing the first clamping arms by tilting, the guide pieces of the first clamping arms can of course also be fixed in a certain position by special locking elements such as locking screws.
  • the term “transverse” should be understood above and below to mean the direction approximately perpendicular to the guide rail and to the unloading of the tensioning arms.
  • the free end of the second clamping arm is expediently designed in such a way that it has a transverse extension which is at least equal to the transverse distance of the first clamping arms from one another, since otherwise there may be a board or the like between the second clamping arm and the one to be clamped Must insert object or objects.
  • the measure according to the invention to provide variable clamping arms in their throat allows workpieces of almost any shape to be clamped and there is also no need to be able to grasp a workpiece in the immediate vicinity of its edge, as is the case with the known grip pliers described above.
  • the guide pieces for these clamping arms are designed in such a way that their guide openings are at the same height when guide pieces are in contact with one another, ie. H. when the guide pieces for the first clamping arms are pushed together on the guide rail, their guide openings have the same distances from the pivotable, second clamping arm.
  • the second, pivotable clamping arm could have a single clamping surface with a transverse extent which corresponds at least to the transverse distance of the free ends of the first clamping arms.
  • the guide piece articulated on the guide rail has at least two guide openings arranged at a transverse distance from one another, each for a second clamping arm.
  • This preferred embodiment therefore has a plurality of second clamping arms, the projection of which is individual and z. B. lets the projection of the first clamping arms arranged above choose accordingly.
  • the preferred grip pliers according to the invention have a guide rail 10 made of drawn and tempered steel, the profile of which results from FIG. 3.
  • a guide rail 10 made of drawn and tempered steel, the profile of which results from FIG. 3.
  • two guide pieces 12 and 14 are slidably arranged, each of which has an opening 12a and 14a, which, as is usual with screw clamps and grip pliers, is designed such that each of the guide pieces is clamped to the guide rail when an object is clamped 10 can be set.
  • the guide pieces 12 and 14 are preferably of identical design according to the invention and are graduated as shown in FIG. 2, so that second, breakthrough-like openings 12b and 14b are at the same height when the guide pieces are pushed together.
  • first clamping arms 16 and 18 are guided in these openings 12b, 14b so as to be displaceable in the direction of their projection, and the profile of these clamping arms is matched to the shape of the openings 12b, 14b such that the first clamping arms 16, 18 can be fixed in a known manner by tilting when clamping an object relative to the guide pieces 12, 14.
  • the clamping arms 16, 18 have clamping surfaces 16a and 18a, which preferably form planes running perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the guide rail 10, each with a prismatic transverse groove 16b or 18b.
  • each of the clamping arms 16, 18 has nose-like projections 16c and 18c, which are arranged at a longitudinal distance from one another and by which the displacement path is limited relative to the guide pieces 12, 14, so that the clamping arms cannot fall out of the guide pieces 12, 14, for example.
  • a lever handle 20 is fixedly attached. Furthermore, a support piece 22 is articulated at the lower end of the guide rail, namely by means of a riveted pin 24, and this, as a cross-sectionally U-shaped sheet metal part made of high-strength steel, comprises the guide rail and lever handle 10 or 20 in such a way that it is downward over the protrudes the part mentioned and in the direction of the clamping arm projection from these a small distance, so that a gap 26 is formed (see Figure 1). Therefore, the support piece 22 can be pivoted slightly in the direction of the double arrow B shown in Figure 1 in both directions about the pin 24.
  • This pivoting of the support piece 22 and its fixing is used by a toggle lever clamping mechanism comprising a tension lever 32 articulated at 30 on the support piece 22 and a support lever 36 articulated at 34 on the tension lever 32, so that the support piece 22 is pivoted clockwise around the pin 24 according to FIG if one grips and presses the tension lever 32 and the lever handle 20 with one hand, d. H. the clamping lever 32 pivoted counterclockwise around the hinge pin 30.
  • This tensioning mechanism is known, e.g. B. from DE-OS 2 806 555, so that it need not be explained in detail.
  • a cross-member-like guide piece 40 is fastened to the support piece 22, which has two breakthrough guides 40a, the spacing of which from one another is preferably the same as the transverse spacing of the openings 12b and 14b from one another and which serve to guide two second clamping arms 42.
  • These have flat clamping surfaces 42a, which are perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the guide rail 10, and a profile which is adapted to the shape of the openings 40a, so that the second clamping arms 42 can also be fixed relative to the guide piece 40 when clamping an object by tilting.
  • the second clamping arms 42 are provided with projections 42c which limit the displacement path.
  • a workpiece 50 can be clamped, which has different thicknesses in the area of the clamping arm pairs 16, 42 and 18, 42 - measured in the clamping direction - which are also two separate ones Workpiece parts 50a and 50b can act, which are to be clamped and placed against each other.
  • the clamping arm pairs 16, 42 and 18, 42 can be set so that they have different projections, so that the workpiece area covered by one clamping arm pair is at a different distance from the guide rail 10 than the workpiece area captured by the other clamping arm pair.
