Definitions
- the invention relates to a rotary tube with an outer jacket and at least one heat-treatable treatment tube arranged therein, which is held in end disks and optionally intermediate disks, these disks being supported on the outer jacket.
- the task to be solved is to find a rotary tube in which the thermal expansions between the heated treatment tube and the colder outer jacket are compensated for while avoiding stress.
- one of the disks is fixed in the axial direction, but is guided so as to be movable in the radial direction, and in that at least n-1 disks each have at least three pegs pointing in the radial direction with lateral sliding surfaces which are provided in the associated outer jacket and engage axially parallel sliding grooves, these sliding grooves having such a length and depth that the displacements of the pins to be expected as a result of the thermal expansion of the treatment tube can be absorbed in the different directions.
- the pins can alternatively be provided on the outer jacket and the sliding grooves on the disks.
- the insert consisting of one or more treatment tubes mounted in end disks and possibly intermediate disks can expand freely in the axial direction of the rotary tube as well as in the radial direction under the influence of heat and is nevertheless adequately and stress-free stored in the outer jacket.
- the contact surfaces of the pins and sliding grooves are periodically loaded up to a maximum during one revolution and again completely relieved.
- the edge of the fixed disk engages in an annular groove in the outer jacket, which lies in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tube.
- the groove must be deep enough to absorb the radial thermal expansion of the disc.
- the width of the groove should be selected so that the washer is not clamped under the operating conditions.
- the remaining sliding grooves allow the longitudinal displacement of the engaging pins and their expansion in the radial direction due to their axially parallel arrangement.
- the insert consisting of the treatment tube and the disks is therefore not carried by the end faces of the pins but by their flanks, which rest on the walls of the sliding grooves.
- Each pin is in its vertical position, i.e. in the lower and upper position, completely relieved, while towards the horizontal position its load rises steadily to the maximum.
- the construction according to the invention makes it possible to use a large number of washers, as a result of which the wall thickness of the treatment tube can be reduced, so that better and faster heat transfer takes place with indirect heating and lower-quality material can be used. Even with the arrangement of a plurality of tubes instead of a single treatment tube, no problems arise.
- the pipes are usually attached to the fixed disc; in addition, they can also be attached to the other panes.
- the pins are preferably designed as runners or sliding blocks, but the side surfaces represent the sliding surfaces. Accordingly, when selecting the material for the pins and the sliding grooves, the high loads on the side surfaces must be taken into account.
- the actual rotary tube 1 consists of an outer jacket 3 provided with a refractory lining 2 and an insert 4 held therein.
- a torch lance 6 and a feed tube 7 are passed through a rigidly arranged head piece 5.
- Another head piece 8, which is displaceable in the axial direction of the rotary tube 1, is arranged at the other end of the rotary tube 1. It is provided with rollers 10 running on rails 9 and has a material outlet opening 11 in the lower part and a gas outlet opening 12 in the upper part.
- the outer jacket 3 is provided with races 13, which rest on roller bearings 14.
- the drive which takes place via ring gear and pinion or directly driven rollers, is not shown.
- the outer jacket 3 faces the head piece 5 an annular groove 15.
- four circumferential sliding grooves 16 are provided, which are formed by strong sheets 17 welded to the outer jacket. The latter are still secured by supports 18 (Fig.3).
- the insert 4 consists of a fixed end plate 19, the edge of which engages in the annular groove 15, and of a further end plate 20, the intermediate plates 21 (only one is shown) and the treatment tubes 22 mounted in the plates 19, 20, 21 Face disk 19 carries on the outside a loading ring 23 into which the feed tube 7 opens.
- the depth of the annular groove 15 is matched to the largest diameter of the face plate 19 under the influence of heat so that a gap remains.
- the width of the annular groove 15 is slightly larger than the thickness of the edge of the engaging face plate 19 so that the face plate 19 can rotate freely when the insert 4 rotates, but is sufficiently held in position in the longitudinal direction.
- the disks 20, 21 have welded pins designed as sliding blocks 24, which are reinforced by supports 25 (FIG. 4).
- the sliding blocks 24 engage in the sliding grooves 16; their depth and width are matched to the greatest thermal expansion to be expected of the disks 20, 21 or the sliding blocks 24 in order to ensure a sliding movement even in extreme cases.
- the face plate 19 has openings 26 for filling the treatment tubes 22 and a central opening 27 through which the burner lance 6 projects.
- the disks 20, 21 are provided with openings 28 for the passage of the gases.

Description
- Fig. 1 das Drehrohr im Schnitt gemäß Linie AB in Fig. 2 ;
- Fig. 2 einen Schnitt durch das Drehrohr gemäß Linie C-D in Fig. 1 ;
- Fig. 4 einen Schnitt durch die Einzelheit E gemäß Linie F-G in Fig.3.
