Description

The invention relates to a container which can be closed with a lid for receiving and pressing waste, in particular paper waste, in which the lid which is immersed in the container and is pivotably mounted is connected to an actuating device.

As soon as the loosely layered waste fills a known container of this type (FR-A-2 387 864) up to the area in which the lid is located. Closing dips, the pressing process begins with the lid. Each further piece of waste thrown into the space taken up by the lid when the container is closed is individually compressed by the closing lid and then pressed into the container. Only a relatively small pressure is required for this. By blocking the lid in the closed state of the container, the pressed waste must remain in the predetermined volume of the container. As a result, the internal tension of the waste will weaken after a short time, so that it no longer springs back when the lid is opened again. This creates a free space corresponding to the shape of the lid in the upper part of the waste container when the lid is open, into which new unpressed pieces of waste can be thrown, which are pressed again with the subsequent lid closing movement. A multiple of the container volume of waste can be accommodated in these known containers. However, the devices for operating the cover can be operated either only by hand or only by foot. The manual control is relatively unsanitary, and the foot control involves a relatively large amount of construction work.

The object of the present invention is to provide a structurally simple container of the type in question, the lid of which can be operated in a hygienic manner.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a container of the type mentioned above in that the actuating device consists of a bar running transversely on the front of the container, each having a horizontal rod on both sides of the container and two articulated with rods and a container wall connected swivel arms mounted on the container and horizontally displaceable, and that the rods each have a driver, each of which engages with a non-rotatably connected cam guide, the cam guide being designed and arranged in relation to the swivel axis of the lid, that is when moving the bar on the container to which the lid is swung open. Due to the actuating device designed according to the invention as a bar, the cover can be operated by body operation, e.g. by means of the thigh or the hip area. The body control is hygienic, since there is no skin contact with the container or lid during operation, and requires only a relatively small amount of construction. The body control therefore combines the advantages of the previously known manual control, which is also structurally simple, and the foot control, which is hygienic, without the disadvantages of these known forms of operation - the manual control is relatively unhygienic and the foot control requires a relatively large amount of design. Body control should also be perceived by many as more comfortable than foot control, because standing on both feet and pushing the body exerts greater forces than standing on one foot and pushing the other foot. In addition, the body control also has a positive effect in that you cannot pull back the body as quickly as e.g. a foot so that the lid moves more slowly and falls back into its closed position more quietly, especially when the container is still relatively empty.

Advantageous embodiments of the container according to the invention, in particular the curve guidance and a device for blocking the container, are stated in the subclaims. The driver is brought into a final position which causes the lid to close and block by means of a tension spring.

In the following, the invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment in conjunction with the drawing. It shows:
  • Fig. 1 is a schematically illustrated, partially broken side view of an embodiment of the container according to the invention in the closed state, and
  • Fig. 2 is a side view corresponding to Fig. 1 in the open state of the container.

Hierdurch ergibt sich ein ansteigender Anpreßdruck beim Schließen des Deckels 3.1 and 2, a container 1 is shown with a cover 3 pivotable about a horizontal axis 2. A bar 4 is arranged on the front of the container and preferably extends essentially across the entire width of the container. On the sides, the beam 4 is each connected to a horizontal rod 5, each of which is mounted on a container side wall 8 via two swivel arms 6, 7 and can be displaced horizontally in the direction of the arrow. A tension spring 10 is provided between the front swivel arm 6 and the front wall 9 of the container. At the rear end of the rod 5, a driver 1 is arranged, which engages with a curved guide connected to the cover 3 in a rotationally fixed manner. 1 and 2 is only schematically a preferably curvilinear ver running slot 12 shown on the side wall of the lid, in which the driver 11 is guided. The operation of the container is readily apparent from FIGS. 1 and 2. The bar 4 is preferably pressed in the direction of the arrow with the help of the thigh or the hip part, as a result of which the driver 11 pivots the cover 3 into the open position shown in FIG. 2 via its positive guidance in the slot 12. in this state the waste is thrown into the container. The bar 4 is then released. Through the tensioned tension spring 10, the cover 3 is automatically transferred to the closed state according to FIG. 1, the special design of the slot 12 ensuring that the closing movement of the cover 3 already after a relatively short return movement of the rods 5 or the bar 4 has largely been completed. The last smaller part of this closing movement of the cover 3, in which essentially the waste is pressed, if this is already piled up to the underside of the cover, takes place during the larger part of the return movement of the bar 4. This results in an increasing contact pressure when closing cover 3.
