Claims (10)

  1. A device for opening a binding comb for binding sheets, comprising a base member on which a plurality of parallel opening fingers are fixedly arranged, and comprising a displaceable comb provided with several parallel opening hooks which cooperate with the opening fingers for detaching the opening hooks from the opening fingers in the direction of opening, by displacing the comb, characterised in that the comb (61), via two rotatable and movable arms (65, 67), is connected to a bar (63) mounted in such a manner, that said bar may move both in the opening direction (A) and in a direction at right angles to said opening direction in parallel motion.
  2. An opening device according to claim 1, characterised in that the bar (63) is pivotally connected to two further arms (64, 66) whose other ends are rotatably mounted on the base member (2).
  3. An opening device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the bar (63) is provided with a rack (77) coordinated with a pinion (78) of such a width that the rack (77) may be displaced axially on the pinion without becoming detached from the teeth thereof, and the pinion (78) is rotatably mounted on the base member (2) and connected to a lever (3).
  4. An opening device according to claim 3, characterised in that the shaft (79) of the pinion (78) is braked by a braking device (80).
  5. A binding machine comprising an opening device according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the base member is a base (2) carrying a vertically displaceable punch knife (25).
  6. A binding machine comprising an opening device according to one of claims 1 to 4, or a binding machine according to claim 5, characterised in that the base member is a base (2) carrying a vertically displaceable contact (35).
  7. A binding machine according to claim 5 or 6, characterised in that a support bar (12) connected to the base (2) is provided, on which the shafts (29;30) of levers (16;19) are mounted, via which the punch knife (25) is secured.
  8. A binding machine according to claim 5, 6 or 7, characterised in that the support bar (12) is an angle section with L-shaped cross-section.
  9. A binding machine according to one of claims 5 to 8, characterised in that there is an oblong box (91) underneath the punch knife, which may be pulled out.
  10. A binding machine according to one of claims 5 to 9, characterised by a punch lever (6) bent at right angles.
