Definitions
- the present invention relates to a process for the preparation of fluorinated s-triazines, which is characterized in that liquid s-trichlorotriazine or a liquid mixed chlorinated-fluorinated s-triazine, in particular a fluorination mixture obtained by partial fluorination of s-trichlorotriazine, at temperatures of 50-160 ° C and pressures of 2-30 bar, especially 2-10 bar and very particularly 4-6 bar with anhydrous HF.
- the reaction can be carried out batchwise or continuously. Depending on the amount of HF used, mixed-chlorinated-fluorinated s-triazines or s-trifluorotriazine are obtained. In general, 0.5-10 equivalents of HF are used per equivalent of chlorine to be exchanged.
- the hydrogen chloride formed during the reaction is continuously expanded by a reflux condenser via a control valve at pressures of 2-30, in particular 2-10 bar, very particularly 4-6 bar.
- the internal temperature is lowered to 50 to 130 ° C., in particular 90-110 ° C., with the start of the HF feed line or after the exchange of about 5-20 equivalent percent chlorine.
- This reaction temperature is maintained by heating until the end of the reaction after about three hours, then the contents of the reactor are cooled and the reaction mixture is rectified by means of a column with a reflux condenser.
- Anhydrous hydrofluoric acid and all other possible reaction products can easily be separated from one another by distillation.
- Partially fluorinated s-trihalotriazines can be used in the fluorination as well as s-trichlorotriazine, even with the advantage of the more economical metering option, since all partially fluorinated s-trihalotriazines are liquid at room temperature; In addition, starting temperatures can be assumed to be below 150 ° C.
- the procedure is as described above.
- molten s-trichlorotriazine is additionally pumped into the reaction mixture in addition to anhydrous hydrofluoric acid.
- the two reactants hydrofluoric acid and s-trichlorotriazine are used in the desired ratio.
- the reaction mixture which is likewise continuously drawn off, is separated in a direct rectification.
- a reaction vessel at 5 bar nitrogen pressure with a reflux condenser and control valve is charged with 553 g of molten s-trichlorotriazine.
- 320 g of anhydrous hydrofluoric acid are started to be metered into the melt through a VA capillary at a rate of approximately 130 g / h.
- the boiler heating is switched off and the internal temperature is dropped from 150 ° C to 100 ° C and then held at this value until the end of the reaction.
- the HC1 formed is continuously expanded at a pressure of 6 bar.
- all of the hydrofluoric acid is pumped in after about 2.5 hours. Stir for 0.5 hours
- reaction mixture is rectified via a VA packed column ( ⁇ 3.8 cm, height 0.5 m, VA mesh coils) with a reflux divider. Approximately 140 ml of excess hydrofluoric acid are initially obtained, then 372 g of s-trifluorotriazine with a boiling point of 72-74 ° C. The residue, consisting of s-difluorochlorotriazine, can remain in the kettle and be used again in the reaction.
- reaction mixture contains, according to GC

Abstract
Description
-
- (s-TFT: s-Trifluortriazin; s-DFT: s-Difluorchlortriazin;
- s-MFT: s-Monofluordichlartriazin; s-TCT: s-Trichlortriazin).
-
