Den foreliggende opfindelse angår et vandigt overtræksmateriale, især til brug ved elektroforetisk overtrækning, på grundlag af (A) et vandopløseligt neutralisationsprodukt af en base og et karbok= sylgruppeholdigt omsætningsprodukt af et dienpolymerisat med en α,β-ethylenisk umættet dikarboksylsyre, dens anhydrid, halvestere og/eller halvamider, fortrinsvis maleinsyrenahydrid, og eventuelt (C) en tungtflygtig polyhydroxylforbindelse med mindst to hydroxylgrup-per og en molekylvægt mellem 50 og 30Q0 on (D) et eventuelt med lavere alkoholer forætret kondensationsprodukt af formaldehyd med urinstoffer og/eller aminotriaziner og eventuelt indeholdende vandtolerante opløsningsmidler.

Fra de franske patenter nr. 1.467.595 og 1.509.692 er det kendt at omsætte polymerisater af diener, især af butadien, med maleinsyre= anhydrid og at bringe de fremkomne reaktionsprodukter i en vandopløselig form ved neutralisation med baser. Overtræksmidler, der fremstilles af sådanne bindemidler, bar generelt den ulempe at have forhøjet iltaktivitet. På den ene side er de i høj grad tilbøjelige til huddannelse allerede under lagringen, og på den anden side udviser de på basis af sådanne bindemidler fremstillede overtræk en meget hurtig overfladetørring og en dermed forbunden mangelfuld gen-nemhærdning, således at hinderne helt mangler en hæftning, der tilfredsstiller kravene i praksis. Derved er de meget følsomme overfor mekaniske Ødelæggelser og yder ingen tilstrækkelig korrosionsbeskyttelse.
X U.S. patent nr. 3.351.675 beskrives en maleiniseret kulbrintepolymer, som er strakt med en ikke-varmereaktionsdygtig fenolharpiks· I dette tilfælde er fenolharpiksen allerede så meget desaktiveret, at den ikke mere kan yde noget bidrag til den senere hærdning af hinden.
Ifølge engelsk patent nr. 1.107.147 formindsker man ved partiel hydro= genering den umættede karakter af additionsprodukter af dienpolyme-risater, som er årsagen til den forhøjede iltreaktionsdygtighed. Hydrogeneringen.sker ved et tryk på 5-50 ato i organiske opløsningsmidler under anvendelse af faste katalysatorer. Disse foranstaltninger kræver naturnødvendigt kostbare tekniske installationer. Bortset herfra må de hydrogenerede · additionsprodukter ved yderligere foranstaltninger befris for opløsningsmiddel og katalysator, før de er egnede til videre forarbejdning til vandopløselige overtræksmidler.
Det har nu vist sig, at man får overtræksmaterialer med efter neutralisation vandopløselige bindemidler, som ikke har de ovennævnte ulemper, når man anvender et overtræksmateriale, som ifølge oofin-delsen er ejendommeligt ved en tilsætning af (B) eventuelt forætre-de varmereaktionsdygtige kondensaticnsnrodukter af formaldehyd med fenolkarboksylsyrer, og eventuelt yderligere tilsætning af kondensationsprodukter af formaldehyd med fenoler.

Opfindelsen angår endvidere en fremgangsmåde til fremstilling af overtra*snaterialet, hvilken fremgangsmåde er ejendommelig ved, at , komponenterne ved temperaturer på indtil 150°C ved forsigtig kondensation bindes kemisk før neutralisationen.
Overtræksmaterialeme kan forarbejdes i pigmentereb eller upigmenteret form efter alle sædvanlige påføringsmetoder.

Konponenten B bevirker en stabilisering af Mxadeaidlet nod oksyda-tirt angreb, en forhaling af overfladetørringen i begyndelsen og dér-ved en forbedret strømning og en forbedret genmemhærdning af de deraf fremstillede overtrade.
Som komponent A kan anvendes: cmsætningsprodukter af dienpolymerisater med aaleinsyre, naleinsyreanhydrid, maleinsyrehalvestere, malein-syremonoamid og itakonsyre.
Sgnede polymerisater af diener dannes af 1,3-bmtadien og/eller 2-metylbutadien«l,3 og/eller 2,3-dimetylbutadien-l,3 og/eller kloroe pren o.s.v., eventuelt med andre blandingspolymeri s erbare monomere såsom styrol, alfa-metyl s tyrol, orto-, meta- eller par a-kl or s tyrol, vinylnaftalin, vinylcykl oh eksan, vinylcykloheksen, vinylacetat, metakrylsyreestere, metakrylnitril o.s.v·· De har molekylvægte mellem 200 og 20.000 og indeholder overvejende Isolerede dobbeltbindinger, der eventuelt kan være partielt hydrerede.
Fremstillingen af dien-homo- eller kopolymerisater er i og for sig kendt.
Som komponent B anvendes fortrinsvis resolkarboksylsyrer, således son de kan f&s på kendt måde ved kondensation af formaldehyd med fenol* karboksylsyrer, såsan 2-( 4-hydroksyfenyl) -2-( karbætoksyfenyl) -propan 4 141879 eller 4,4-bis-(4-hydroksyfenyl)»valerianesyre, eventuelt efter partiel eller fuldstændig forætring af metylolgrupperne. Kondensations-produkter af formaldehyd med fenoler, såsom p-tert iær-butylfenol, 2,2-bis-( 4-hydroksyfenyl)-propan, eventuelt efter forætring med la· vere alkoholer, kan også anvendes samtidigt dermed.
Som komponent C egner sig forbindelser, som ved hærdningstemperaturerne er så tungt flygtige, at de bidrager til opbygningen af et hærdet overtræk* De organiske forbindelser, der koraner i betragt· ning her, er: ætylenglykol, propylenglykol, butylenglykol, neopentyls glykol, glycerin, trimetylolpropan, pentaerytrit, epoksygruppefrie derivater af ætere af difenylolpropan med epiklorhydrin, f.eks* deres partielle estere med fedtsyrer, endvidere aminoalkoholer, f.eks, triætanolamin, Ν,Ν,Ν* ,N* -tetrakis-( 2-hydroksypropyl) -ætylendiamin, endvidere hydroksylgruppeholdige polymerisater, der f.eks, fås ved kopolymerisation af allylalkohol eller metakrylsyremonoætylenglykol= ester, eventuelt med andre alfa-beta-ætylenisk umættede monomere (såsom styrol, vinyltoluol, metakrylsyreestere, vinylacetat, meta= krylamid, metakrylnitril) eller omsætning af ætylenoksyder med forud dannede karboksylgruppeholdige polymerisater. Derudover får man produkter med særlige egenskaber, hvis man omsætter polyhydroksyl· forbindelsen partielt med isocyanater, således at denne komponent C stadig bærer mindst to hydroksylgrupper,
Sn mere højmolekulær komponent C kan, når dens egen vandopløseLighed er utilstrækkelig, omdannes til følgeprodukter ved forsigtig forkondensation med komponenten A og/eller B og/eller D, hvilke følgeprodukter efter neutralisation med baser danner klare opløsninger i vand.
Som komponent D kan anvendes partielt eller fuldstændigt med lavere alkoholer forætrede kondensationsprodukter af formaldehyd med urin= stof, tiourinstof, melamin, benzoguanamin og andre. Den samtidige anvendelse af disse aminoplastkomponenter muliggør nedsættelse af brændingstemperatur en.
De til neutralisation af bindemidlet i overtræksmaterialerne ifølge opfindelsen egnede baser er foruden ammoniak primære, sekundære og tertiære alkylaminer, f.eks. isopropylamin, butylamin, amylamin, diætylamin, diisopropylamin, dibutylamin, morfolin, piperidin, trimethylamin, triætylamin og ligeledes alkanolaminer, f.eks. diisopropanolamin, dimethylætanolamin og ligeledes alkvlen- 5 141879 polyaminer, f.eks. ætylendiamin, diætylentriarain, triætylentetra= min o.s.v.
Ved anvendelse af overtræksmaterialet ifølge opfindelsen i elek-troforeselakker kan der til neutralisationen anvendes alkalihydrok= syder og/eller jordalkalihydroksyder og »-salte af sådanne syrer, hvis dissociationskonstanter er mindre end dissociationskonstanterne af de kunstharpikser, som anvendes ifølge opfindelsen, for så vidt de med sidstnævnte eventuelt i nærværelse af våndtolerante opløsningsmidler danner vandopløseliqe produkter. Eksempler på egnede salte af sådanne svagt dissocierede syrer er alkalimetalkarbonater og alkalimetalkarbamater.
Som vandtolerante opløsningsmidler kan f.eks. anvendes alkoholer såsom metanol, ætanol, isopropanol, isobutanol, sekundær butanol, tertiær butanol, halvæteme af glykoler såsom ætylenglykolmono*etyl= æter, ætylenglykolmonoætylæter, ætylenglykolmønoisopropylæter, ætylenglykolmonobutylæter, ketoalkoholer såsom diacetonealkohol.
De følgende eksempler belyser opfindelsen uden at begrænse denne.
Alle dele er vægtdele.
Komponent A: 1. Til 400 g polybutadien med en viskositet på 5 P ved 20°C og $0$ cis»isomer sættes 10 gram af en kobbemaftenatopløsning i xylol, der indeholder 1% kobber, og 100 gram maleinsyreanhydrid. Man opvarmer til 190~220°C, indtil indholdet af fri maleinsyreanhydrid er faldet under 0,05$. Efter afkøling til 100°C fortynder man med 50 gram diacetonealkohol og hydrolyserer med 20 gram vand i 2 timer ved 95°C.
2. 200 gram maleinsyreanhydrid og 95 gram ætanol omsættes til halv« esteren ved 130°C. Efter tilsætning af 10 gram af en kobbernaftenat« opløsning i xylol, der indeholder 1% kobber, lader man tilflyde 400 gram polybutadien med en viskositet på 5 P ved 20°C og 80$ cis« isomer. Man opvarmer til 200°C, hvorved der undviger 80 ml flygtige bestanddele i forlaget. Efter 5 timers reaktionstid kan der ikke mere påvises fri halvester. Man afkøler til 100°C, fortynder med 60 gram diacetonealkohol, hydrolyserer med 20 gram vand i 2 timer ved 95°C og fortynder med ætanol til et indhold af 70$ faste stoffer.

Komponent B: 1. 300 gram 36% formaldehydoplø sning, 106 gram triaetylamin og 286 gram 4,4-bis-( 4-hydroksyfenyl) »valerianesyre opvarmes til 8Q°C, og pH-værdien af reaktionsmaterialet (målt i forholdet 1:10 i destilleret vand) indstillet eventuelt på 7,7 ~ 8,0 ved tilsætning af mere triaetylamin. Man holder i 10 timer ved 80°C og afkøler.
2. 228 gram 2,2-bis-( 4**hydroksyfenyl) -propan opløses under opvarmning i 500 ml 2n natronlud. Derefter iblandes en opløsning af 110 gram kloreddikesurt natrium (teknisk) i 170 gram vand, og temperaturen hæves langsomt til 60-90°C og holdes 1 time under stadig omrøring af reaktionsblandingen.
Den i en blanding af toluol og butanol opløselige del af en prøve, der ved syrning er befriet for alkali, viser ved sit syretal, at ca. 85# af bisfenolen er blevet omsat, medens resten er forblevet fri.
Massen forenes med 200 gram formaldehyd (35$) under dannelse af en klar opløsning og holdes i 3 dage ved ca. 40°C. Herefter fældes blandingen af resolkarbonsyre og resol i nærværelse af 100 gram butanol med den beregnede mængde saltsyre. Efter flere ganges vask fås ca. 500 gram butanolisk opløsning, som har et syretal på ca. 140 mg KOH pr. gram. Indholdet af fast stof andrager ca. 65$. Efter neutralisation af opløsningen med ammoniak er den ubegrænset fortyndelig med vand.
3. Under anvendelse af et overskud af kloreddikesurt natrium udover den teoretiske mængde, hensigtsmæssigt under samtidig bedst mulig udelukkelse af betingelser, der begunstiger en uønsket forsæbning af kloreddikesyren eller dens natriumsalt, sker der en praktisk taget kvantitativ forætring af den ene fenoliske hydroksylgruppe, således at man i det væsentlige får difenylolmonoglykolsyreæter eller dennes natriumsalt. Der kondenseres videre som under komponent B 2 med 175 gram formaldehyd og oparbejdes til slut under anvendelse af 114 gram butanol eller cykloheksanol. Kondensatet har et syretal på ca. 155 mg KOH pr. gram.
I stedet for 2,2-bis-(4-hydroksyfenyl)-propan i komponent B 2 og B 3 kan også anvendes andre analoge bisfenoler, der fås af højere ketoner, 7 141879 såsom metylætylketon, cykloheksanon, metyl cykl oh eksanon o.s.v« . I stedet for en alkanrest kan også svovl eller SQ2 danne broen i bise fenol» eller dioksydifenyl kan umiddelbart tjene som bisfenol.

En blanding af 120 gram komponent A2 og 50 gram komponent Bl fortyndes med 35 gram ætanol og indstilles ved hjælp af triætylamin til en pH-værdi på 6,5 (målt i lO&g opløsning), fed tilsætning af destilleret vand fortyndes harpiksen til et indhold af 1θ£ faste stoffer.
1 en metalbeholder med en kapacitet på 1,5 liter» der indskydes som katode, udskiller dar sig af harpikaopldaniogw -d 100 solt i 1 ml- , nut ved 25°C et overtræk på en 200 cm^ stor anodeflade. Efter brænding (30'/l60°C) fremkommer en hinde med en lagtykkelse på 20 my» som også ved anvendelse af ikke-behandlet jernblik som anodemateriale udviser fremragende korrosionsbestandighed og udmærkede mekaniske egenskaber.
Eksempel 2 570 gram af komponent Al bringes til i 1 time at reagere ved 110 · 115°C med 30 gram af et kopolyaerisat af allylalkohol og styrol med en molekylvægt på ca. 1600 og en arie vivalentvægt på ca. 300» indtil en prøve af reaktionsproduktet indstillet på en pH-værdi af 8 er klart opløselig i vand. Man afkøler til 80°C, tilsætter 180 gram af en ætylenglykolmonoætylæter og iblander ved 60°C 50 gram af komponent Bl og 50 gram af en på kendt måde fremstillet éO^ig» i diæty« lenglykolmonoætylæter opløst vandopløselig melaninharpiks, som i gennemsnit indeholder 4 mol formaldehyd og 3 mol metanol pr. mol melamin. Efter neutralisation med triætylamin til en pH-værdi mellem 7,3 og 7,7 (målt i 10#ig opløsning i destilleret vand) fremstilles med jemoksydrødt (forhold mellem pigment og bindemiddel 1:1) en farvepasta, som efter fortynding med vand til påføringsviskositet giver en lakopløsning, der kan påføres ved neddypning, overskylning eller sprøjtning.
Hinder brændt ved 140°C/30* giver også på ikke-forbehandlet jernblik fremragende korrosionsbeskyttelse overfor salttåge, industriatmosfære og fugtighed. De mekaniske egenskaber af binderae er tydeligt bedre end af hinder fremstillet på analog måde kvin af komponent A.
Eksempel 3 B 141879
En blanding af 570 gram komponent Al og 300 gram komponent B2 fortyndes med 240 gram ætylenglykolmonoaebylæter og indstilles med tri= ætylamin til en pH-værdi på 7,0 (målt i 10#ig opløsning i destilleret vand).
500 gram af dette neutraliserede bindemiddel udrives på et trevalse-værk med 40 gram titandioksyd (rutil), 48 gram aluminiumsilikat og 3 gram sod* Pastaen fortyndes med 2500 gram destilleret vand* I en metalbeholder med en kapacitet på 3 liter, der indskydes som katode, udskiller der sig af lakopløsningen ved 25°C på 1 minut ved o 150 volt jævnstrømsspænding et tæt overtræk på en 200 cm stor anodeflade af affedtet stålblik. Efter hærdning (30*/150ο0) har der dannet sig en glat, bøjelig hinde, som giver det overtrukne stålblik fremragende korrosionsbeskyttelse. Dette bevises af prøven for saltsprøj testabilitet efter ASTM B 117-61, ved hvilken der efter 200 timers prøvetid i gennemsnit kun konstateres et angreb på 2 mm ved i øvrigt uforandret fladebeskyttelse og kantbeskyttelse.
Det skal bemærkes, at man på den ene side ved forhøjelse af hærdningstemperaturen og på den anden side ved forbehandling af stålblikket med en sædvanlig zinkfosfatering eller jernfosfatering først får dette ringe angreb efter 400 timers prøvetid, hvorved er dokumenteret overlegenheden af dette fuldsyntetiske bindemiddel over de traditionelle produkter på basis af naturlige råstoffer.
I stedet for komponent B2 kan også anvendes komponent B3. De hinder, der fås af bindemidlet, udviser praktisk taget analoge egenskaber.
Eksempel 4 570 gram komponent Al bliver ved 120°C omsat med 100 gram af en hy-droksylrig partialester (fremkommet ved forestring af 135 gram pen-taerytrit med 300 gram kolofonium til et syretal på 5 mg KOH pr. gram), indtil en prøve af reaktionsproduktet efter neutralisation med ammoniak er klart opløselig i vand. Man fortynder med 300 gram ætylenglykolmonoætylæter og tilsætter 100 gram komponent B2.

Pigmenteringen, neutralisationen med ammoniak og fortyndingen sker som i eksempel 3·
Overtrasksmaterialerne udmærker sig ved en stor fremtrængningsevne, således at overtrækkene dækker godt, foruden at de har en udmærket korrosionsstabilitet. De egner sig derfor især til elektroforetisk lakering af kompliceret formede genstande, f.eks. bil» karosseridele eller materiel, der er udsat for varig påvirkning af en korroderende atmosfære.
Eksempel 5 Påvisningen af det tekniske fremskridt med o vertrask smidlet ifølge opfindelsen sammenlignet med den kendte teknik repræsenteret ved anvendelse af komponent A alene fremgår af følgende.
På samme måde,som beskrevet i eksempel 3, fremstilles af komponent A alene en vandig lak, som i det beskrevne anlæg anvendes til overtræk på affedtet stålblik. De praktiske forhold i et stort elektro-foreseanlæg efterlignes på den måde, at lakbadet omrøres uafbrudt, og at der daglig overtrækkes 2-3 prøveblik, hvis overtræk bedømmes efter brændingen. Forandringen af overtræksresultaterne med tiltagende røretid iagttages, hvorved man får de i tabel 1 sammenfattede resultater.
Bortset fra den fra begyndelsen iagttagede dårligere vedhæftning af hinder af komponent A alene ser man af tabellen, at badmaterialet hurtigt bliver ubrugeligt på grund af den løbende berøring med luftens ilt, som forekommer i praksis i alle anlæg. 1 modsætning hertil udviser overtræksmaterialet ifølge opfindelsen en helt igennem markant forbedring af stabiliteten og kvaliteten af de udskilte hinder.
