Es wurde gefunden, daß man maschenfeste Gewirke,. die sich, durch eine gute Wasehbeiständigkeit auszeichnen, erhält, wenn man die Gewirke mit wäßrigen Lösungen von Silicaten und dann mit wäßrigen Lösungen von Zirkonsalzen oder deren Hydrolysaten behandelt.
Es war zwar schon bekannt, die Haltbarkeit von Strumpfwaren durch ganzfiächige ίο oder örtliche Behandlung mit etwa 4- bis 5%igen Lösungen von Acetylcellulose zu erhöhen. Demgegenüber besitzt das erfindungsgsmäße Verfahren den Vorteil, daß einfach nur mit wäßrigen Lösungen gearbeitet wird und gegenüber dem bekanntem Verfahren zum Maschenfestmachen von Wirkwaren durch Ausrüsten mit Aluminiumhydroxyd bzw. basischen Aluminium-Salzen der Vorteil der höheren Wirksamkeit erzielt wird.

.Beispiel
Trikotage bzw. Kunstseidenstrümpfe werden mit einer Lösung von 8 g Natriummetasilicat bei Temperaturen bis zu 900 behandelt, danach wird geschleudert und getrocknet bei Temperaturen nicht über 6o°.
Anschließend werden die Strümpfe in einem Bad, enthaltend 2,5 bis 3 g Zirkon-
oxychlorid (mit einem Gehalt von 30% ZrO2), kalt kurz behandelt, geschleudert und getrocknet.
Man erhält einen maschenfesten Strumpf, bei dem die Masche nicht mehr läuft. Der Effekt widersteht einer Wäsche mit den üblichen Waschpulvern.

Claims (1)

  1. Patentanspruch:
    Verfahren zum Maschenfestmachen von Gewirken, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man die Gewirke mit wäßrigen Lösungen von Silicaten und dann mit wäßrigen Lösungen von Zirkonsalzen oder deren Hvdrolvsaten behandelt.
