Description
- Die Erfindung betrifft ein Schmieröl für Kompressoren von Kühlmaschinen, in dem halogenierter Kohlenwasserstoff als Kühlmittel verwendet wird (das Öl wird im weiteren als "Kühlmaschinenöl zur Verwendung mit einem halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoff als Kühlmittel") bezeichnet. Insbesondere betrifft die Erfindung solche Kühlmaschinenöle, die einen speziellen Ester als Basisöl umfassen und die in zahlreichen Eigenschaften überlegen sind.
- Im allgemeinen sind naphthenhaltige Mineralöle, paraffinische Mineralöle, Alkylbenzole, Polyglycolöle, Esteröle und Gemische davon, die jeweils eine kinematische Viskosität von 10 bis 200 cSt bei 40ºC besitzen, sowie die genannten Öle, in die geeignete Additive eingearbeitet worden waren, als Kühlmaschinenöle verwendet worden.
- Andererseits sind Kühlmittel von Chlorfluorkohlenstoff-(CFCS)-Typ, wie CFC-11, CFC-12, CFC-113 und HCFC-22, für Kühlmaschinen verwendet worden.
- Von diesen CFCS, können CFCS, wie CFC-11, CFC-12 und CFC-113, die dadurch erhalten werden, daß man sämtliche Wasserstoffatome von Kohlenwasserstoffen durch Halogenatome einschließlich Chloratome ersetzt, zur Zerstörung der Ozonschicht führen und deshalb ist die Verwendung der CFCS eingeschränkt worden. Demgemäß sind halogenierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie HFC-134a und HFC-152a als Ersatz für CFCS verwendet worden. Auf HFC-134a als Ersatzkühlmittel ruhen besondere Hoffnungen, da es in seinen thermodynamischen Eigenschaften dem CFC-12 ähnlich ist, das bislang in vielen Arten von Kühlmaschinen von Gefrierschränken, Klimaanlagen und dgl. verwendet worden ist.
- Kühlmaschinenöle müssen eine Reihe von Eigenschaften besitzen, unter denen ihre Kompatibilität mit Kühlmitteln äußerst wichtig im Hinblick auf die Schmierfähigkeit und die Wirksamkeit des Systems in Kühlmaschinen ist. Herkömmliche Kühlmaschinenöle, die als Basisöle naphthenhaltige Öle, paraffinische Öle, Alkylbenzole, bekannte Esteröle und dgl. enthalten, sind jedoch mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen, wie HFC- 134a kaum kompatibel. Wenn daher die genannten herkömmlichen Kühlmaschinenöle in Kombination mit HFC-134a verwendet werden, trennt sich das resultierende Gemisch bei Normaltemperatur in zwei Phasen, wodurch die Ölrückführbarkeit, die innerhalb des Kühlmaschinensystems äußerst wichtig ist, herabgesetzt wird und zahlreiche Probleme hervorgerufen werden, wie die Verringerung der Kühlleistung, die Verschlechterung der Schmierfähigkeit und infolge das Fressen des Kompressors innerhalb des Systems, wodurch die Kühlmaschinenöle für ihre Verwendung als solche unbrauchbar gemacht werden. Außerdem sind Polyglycolöle als Kühlmaschinenöle wegen ihres hohen Viskositätsindex bekannt und werden beispielsweise in der JP- A-421 19 und JP-A-61-52880 und der JP-A-57-51795 beschrieben. Diese im genannten Stand der Technik konkret beschriebenen Polyglycolöle sind jedoch mit HFC-134a nicht völlig kompatibel, wodurch dieselben Probleme, wie vorstehend genannt, auftreten und sie unbrauchbar machen.
- Die US-A-4 755 316 beschreibt Polyglycol-Kühlmaschinenöle, die mit HFC-134a kompatibel sind, und die US-A-4 851 144 beschreibt Kühlmaschinenöle, die ein Gemisch eines Esters und eines Polyglycols umfassen und die mit HFC-134a kompatibel sind. Zusätzlich haben die benannten Erfinder Polyglycol-Kühlmaschinenöle entwickelt, die eine hervorragende Kompatibilität mit HFC-134a im Vergleich mit herkömmlich bekannten Kühlmaschinenölen aufweisen, entwickelt und eine Patentanmeldung für die auf diese Weise entwickelten Polyglycol-Kühlmaschinenöle eingereicht und bereits ein Patent (US-A-4 948 525) darfür erhalten. Man hat jedoch gefunden, daß die Polyglycolöle Probleme hinsichtlich ihrer hohen Kompatibilität mit Wasser und ihrer mangelhaften elektrischen Isolierungseigenschaften aufwerfen.
- Andererseits sollen Kühlmaschinenöle, die in Kompressoren von Kühlschränken und dgl. verwendet werden, ein hohes elektrisches Isolationsvermögen aufweisen. Unter den bekannten Kühlmaschinenölen besitzen Alkylbenzole und die Mineralöle das höchste Isolationsvermögen, aber sie sind, wie schon erwähnt, kaum mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen wie HFC- 134a kompatibel. Die WO 90/12849 beschreibt eine Zusammensetzung, die einen halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoff und ein spezielles Ester-Schmiermittel umfaßt. Deshalb sind vor der Vollendung der Erfindung keine Kühlmaschinenöle, die sowohl eine hohe Kompatibilität mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen wie HFC-134a und ein hohes Isolationsvermögen aufweisen, entwickelt worden.
- Die benannten Erfinder haben zahlreiche intensive Untersuchungen durchgeführt, um Kühlmaschinenöle zu entwickeln, die den vorher genannten Anforderungen genügen, und als Ergebnis ihrer Untersuchungen haben sie gefunden, daß Ester mit speziellen Strukturen eine hervorragende Kompatibilität mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen wie HFC-134a und ein hohes elektrisches Isolationsvermögen sowie eine hervorragende Schmierfähigkeit aufweisen. Die Erfindung gründet sich auf diese Entdeckung.
- Es ist die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, Kühlmaschinenöle zur Verwendung mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen als Kühlmittel bereitzustellen, wobei die Öle als Hauptkomponente (oder als ein Basisöl) mindestens eine Art eines Esters umfaßen, der eine spezielle Struktur und eine hervorragende Kompatibilität mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen wie HFC-134a und ein hohes elektrisches Isolationsvermögen besitzt.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung stellt ein Kühlmaschinenöl bereit zur Verwendung in Kompressoren, in dem ein halogenierter Kohlenwasserstoff als Kühlmittel verwendet wird, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß das es im wesentlichen aus mindestens einem Ester als Basisöl, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus: [I] eine Pentaerythritester der allgemeinen Formel (1)
- worin R¹-R&sup4; gleich oder verschieden voneinander sein können und jeweils eine Gruppe, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus geradkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen, verzweigtkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen und Cycloalkylgruppen mit 6 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, sind, wobei die geradkettigen Alkylgruppen mit einem Verhältnis von nicht mehr als 60 % der gesamten Alkylgruppen vorhanden sind, und a eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3 ist; [II] einem Polyolester der allgemeinen Formel (2)
- worin R&sup5;-R&sup7; gleich oder verschieden voneinander sein können und jeweils eine Gruppe, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus geradkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen, verzweigtkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen und Cycloalkylgruppen mit 6 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, sind, wobei die geradkettigen Alkylgruppen mit einem Verhältnis von nicht mehr als 60 % der gesamten Alkylgruppen vorhanden sind, R&sup8; eine Gruppe, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus Methyl-, Ethyl- und Propylgruppen ist, und b eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3 ist; [III] einem Ester der allgemeinen Formel (3)
- worin X¹ eine Gruppe der allgemeinen Formel -OR¹¹ oder -O-R¹²-O-C-R¹³ ist, X² eine Gruppe der allgemeinen Formel - R¹&sup4; oder - -(R¹&sup5;)-eC-OR¹&sup6; ist, R&sup9; und R¹&sup5; jeweils eine zweiwertige Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen sind, R¹&sup0; und R¹² jeweils eine zweiwertige gesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe mit 2 bis 16 Kohlenstoffatomen sind, R¹¹ und R¹&sup6; jeweils eine verzweigtkettige Alkylgruppe mit 3 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen sind, R¹³ und R¹&sup4; jeweils eine verzweigtkettige Alkylgruppe mit 3 bis 14 Kohlenstoffatomen sind, c und e jeweils eine ganze Zahl von 0 oder 1 sind, und d eine ganze Zahl von 0 bis 30 ist; und
- [IV] einem Polyolester, erhalten durch die Synthese von (a) einem mehrwertigen Neopentyl-Alkohol mit 5 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen und 3 bis 4 Hydroxylgruppen, (b) einer geradkettigen Monocarbonsäure und/oder einer verzweigtkettigen Monocarbonsäure, wobei die verzweigtkettige Monocarbonsäure mit einem Verhältnis von nicht weniger als 50 Mol% der gesamten Monocarbonsäuren vorhanden ist, (c) einer Dicarbonsäure als Ausgangsmaterialien; besteht und daß es weiterhin mindestens eine Epoxyverbindung, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus Epoxyverbindungen vom Phenylglycidylether-Typ, Epoxyverbindungen vom Glycidylester-Typ, epoxidierten Fettsäuremonoestern und epoxidierten Pflanzenölen in einer Menge von 0,1 bis 5,0 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des Kühlmaschinenöls, enthält.
- Zunächst werden die Pentaerythritester [I] im Detail erläutert. In der Formel (1) können R¹-R&sup4; gleich oder verschieden voneinander sein und sind jeweils eine Gruppe, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus geradkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 3 bis 7 Kohlenstoffatomen, verzweigtkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 4 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen und Cycloalkylgruppen mit 6 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 6 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen. Die erfindungsgemäßen Cycloalkylgruppen können Alkylcycloalkylgruppen einschließen. Zusätzlich beträgt das Verhältnis der geradkettigen Alkylgruppen zu den gesamten Alkylgruppen nicht mehr als 60 %, bevorzugt nicht mehr als 50 %. Des weiteren ist a eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3. Auf diese Weise veranschaulicht die Formel (1) Monopentaerythritester, Dipentaerythritester und Tripentaerythritester.
- R¹-R&sup4; sind beispielsweise jeweils eine n-Propylgruppe, n-Butylgruppe, n-Pentylgruppe, n-Hexylgruppe, n-Heptylgruppe, n-Octylgruppe, n-Nonylgruppe, n-Decylgruppe, n-Undecylgruppe, Isopropylgruppe, Isobutylgruppe, Isopentylgruppe, Isohexylgruppe, Isoheptylgruppe, Isooctylgruppe, Isononylgruppe, Isodecylgruppe, Isoundecylgruppe, Isododecylgruppe, Isotridecylgruppe, Isotetradecylgruppe, Isopentadecylgruppe, Cyclohexylgruppe, Cycloheptylgruppe, Cyclooctylgruppe, Cyclononylgruppe, Cyclodecylgruppe, Cycloundecylgruppe, Cyclododecylgruppe, Methylcyclohexylgruppe, Ethylcyclohexylgruppe, Propylcyclohexylgruppe, Butylcyclohexylgruppe, Pentylcyclohexylgruppe oder Hexylcyclohexylgruppe.
- Die Pentaerythritester [I] sind Ester von Pentaerythrit, Dipentaerythrit oder Tripentaerythrit und einer Monocarbonsäure und werden gewöhnlich durch Reaktion von Pentaerythrit, Dipentaerythrit, Tripentaerythrit oder einem Gemisch davon mit einem Gemisch mindestens einer Carbonsäure, die die vorher erwähnte Alkylgruppe besitzt, erhalten.
- Als zweites werden die Polyolester [II] im Detail erläutert. In der Formel (2) können R&sup5;-R&sup7; gleich oder verschieden voneinander sein und sind jeweils eine Gruppe, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus geradkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 3 bis 7 Kohlenstoffatomen, verzweigtkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 4 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen und Cycloalkylgruppen mit 6 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 6 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen. Die erfindungsgemäßen Cycloalkylgruppen können Alkylcycloalkylgruppen einschließen. Im Hinbick auf die oben genannten Rest R&sup5;-R&sup7; beträgt das Verhältnis der geradkettigen Alkylgruppen zu den gesamten Alkylgruppen (einschließlich Cycloalkylgruppen) nicht mehr als 60 %, bevorzugt nicht mehr als 50 %. Zusätzlich ist R&sup8; eine Gruppe, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus Methylgruppe, Ethylgruppe und Propylgruppe. Des weiteren ist b eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3. So veranschaulicht die Formel (2) Trimethylolethanester, Trimethylolpropanester, Trimethylolbutanester und Dimere-Trimere davon.
- R&sup5;-R&sup7; können beispielsweise jeweils eine n-Propylgruppe, n- Butylgruppe, n-Pentylgruppe, n-Hexylgruppe, n-Heptylgruppe, n-Octylgruppe, n-Nonylgruppe, n-Decylgruppe, n-Undecylgruppe, Isopropylgruppe, Isobutylgruppe, Isopentylgruppe, Isohexylgruppe, Isoheptylgruppe, Isooctylgruppe, Isononylgruppe, Isodecylgruppe, Isoundecylgruppe, Isododecylgruppe, Isotridecylgruppe, Isotetradecylgruppe, Isopentadecylgruppe, Cyclohexylgruppe, Cycloheptylgruppe, Cyclooctylgruppe, Cyclononylgruppe, Cyclodecylgruppe, Cycloundecylgruppe, Cyclododecylgruppe, Methylcyclohexylgruppe, Ethylcyclohexylgruppe, Propylcyclohexylgruppe, Butylcyclohexylgruppe, Pentylcyclohexylgruppe oder Hexylcyclohexylgruppe sein.
- Die Polyolester [II] sind Ester von Trimethylolethan, Trimethylolpropan, Trimethylolbutan oder einem Dimeren oder Trimeren davon und einer Monocarbonsäure und werden gewöhnlich durch die Reaktion von Trimethylolethan, Trimethylolpropan, Trimethylolbutan, einem Dimeren oder Trimeren davon und einem Gemisch daraus mit einem Gemisch von mindestens einer Carbonsäure, die die vorher erwähnte Alkylgruppe besitzt, erhalten.
- Als drittes werden die Ester [III] im Detail erläutert. In der Formel (3) ist X¹ eine Gruppe der allgemeinen Formel -OR¹¹ oder -O-R¹²-O- -R¹³ und X² ist eine Gruppe der allgemeinen Formel - -R¹&sup4; oder - -(R¹&sup5;)-e -OR¹&sup6;. Zusätzlich sind R&sup9; und R¹&sup5; jeweils eine zweiwertige Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 1 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen, R¹&sup0; und R¹² sind jeweils eine zweiwertige gesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe mit 2 bis 16 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 2 bis 9 Kohlenstoffatomen, R¹¹ und R¹&sup6; sind jeweils eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen und R¹³ und R¹&sup4; sind jeweils eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 14 Kohlenstoffatomen, bevorzugt 1 bis 11 Kohlenstoffatomen. Des weiteren sind c und e jeweils ganze Zahlen von 0 bis 1 und d ist eine ganze Zahl von 0 bis 30, bevorzugt 1 bis 30.
- R&sup9; und R¹&sup5; sind jeweils beispielsweise eine Methylengruppe, Ethylengruppe, Propylengruppe, Trimethylengruppe, Butylengruppe, Tetramethylengruppe, Pentamethylengruppe, Hexamethylengruppe, Heptamethylengruppe, Octamethylengruppe, Phenylengruppe, oder ungesättigte Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen oder dgl. R¹&sup0; und R¹² werden jeweils durch eine Nonamethylengruppe, Decamethylengruppe, Undecamethylengruppe, Dodecamethylengruppe, Tridecamethylengruppe, Tetradecamethylengruppe, Pentadecamethylengruppe, Hexadecamethylengruppe, Cyclohexylengruppe oder dgl. zusätzlich zu den oben genannten Alkylengruppen (mit Ausnahme der Methylengruppe) veranschaulicht. Konkrete Beispiele für R¹³ und R¹&sup4; sind gerad- oder verzweigtkettige Alkylgruppen, wie eine Methylgruppe, Ethylgruppe, Propylgruppe, Butylgruppe, Pentylgruppe, Hexylgruppe, Heptylgruppe, Octylgruppe, Nonylgruppe, Decylgruppe, Undecylgruppe, Dodecylgruppe, Tridecylgruppe oder Tetradecylgruppe. R¹¹ und R¹&sup6; werden jeweils durch eine geradoder verzweigtkettige Alkylgruppe, wie eine Pentadecylgruppe, zusätzlich zu jeder der oben genannten Alkylgruppen veranschaulicht.
- Ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der Ester [III] unterliegt keinen besonderen Beschränkungen. Ein Gemisch der Ester [III] kann beispielsweise in einem Ansatz durch Veresterungsreaktion (i) eines Diols, das keine Ether-Bindungen in den verzweigten Ketten besitzt, mit (ii) einer Dicarbonsäure und (iii) einer Monocarbonsäure und/oder (iv) einem einwertigen Alkohol hergestellt werden. Die Ester [III] werden auch durch die Reaktion des Diols (i) mit der Monocarbonsäure (iii) oder der Reaktion der Dicarbonsäure (ii) mit dem einwertigen Alkohol (iii) hergestellt.
- Die dabei verwendeten Diole (i) sind solche mit 2 bis 16 Kohlenstoffatomen und Beispiele dafür sind Alkylenglycole, wie Ethylenglycol, Propylenglycol, Butylenglycol, Trimethylenglycol, Tetramethylenglycol, Pentamethylenglycol, Hexamethylenglycol, Heptamethylenglycol, Octamethylenglycol, Nonamethylenglycol, Decamethylenglycol, Neopentylglycol, 2-Ethyl-2-methyl-1,3-propandiol, 2-Methyl-2-propyl-1,3-propandiol, 2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-propandiol, 2-Butyl-2-ethyl-1,3-propandiol, 3-Methyl- 1 ,5-pentandiol, 2,4-Pentandiol, 2-Methyl-2,4-pentandiol, 2-Methyl-1,6- hexan, 1,4-Cyclohexandimethanol und 2,2-Bis-(4-hydroxycyclohexyl)-propan.
- Die dabei verwendeten Dicarbonsäuren (ii) sind solche mit 2 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen, und Beispiele dafür sind gesättigte, aliphatische Dicarbonsäuren, wie Oxalsäure, Malonsäure, Bernsteinsäure, Glutarsäure, Adipinsäure, Pimelinsäure, Suberinsäure, Azelainsäure, Sebacinsäure, Methylmalonsäure, Ethylmalonsäure, Dimethylmalonsäure, Methylbernsteinsäure, 2,2-Dimethylbernsteinsäure, 2,3-Dimethylbernsteinsäure, 2-Ethyl-2- methylbernsteinsäure, 2-Methylglutarsäure, 3-Methylglutarsäure, 3,3-Dimethylglutarsäure und 3-Methyladipinsäure; ungesättigte, aliphatische Dicarbonsäuren, wie Maleinsäure, Fumarsäure, Itaconsäure, Citraconsäure und Mesaconsäure; und aromatische Dicarbonsäuren, wie Phthalsäure, Isophthalsäure und Terephthalsäure.
- Die dabei verwendeten Monocarbonsäuren (iii) sind solche mit 2 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen und Beispiele dafür sind Essigsäure, Propionsäure, Butansäure, Pentansäure, Hexansäure, Heptansäure, Octansäure, Nonansäure, Decansäure, Undecansäure, Dodecansäure, Tridecansäure, Tetradecansäure, Pentadecansäure, 3-Methylbutansäure, 2-Methylbutansäure, 2-Ethylhexansäure, 2,4-Dimethylpentansäure, 3,3,5-Trimethylhexansäure und Benzoesäure.
- Die dabei verwendeten einwertigen Alkohole (iv) sind solche mit 1 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen, und Beispiele dafür sind Methanol, Ethanol, Propanol, Butanol, Pentanol, Hexanol, Heptanol, Octanol, Nonanol, Decanol, Undecanol, Dodecanol, Tridecanol, Tetradecanol, Pentadecanol, Isopropanol, Isobutanol, 2-Methyl-1-butanol, 2,2-Dimethyl-1-propanol, 3,3- Dimethyl-1-butanol, 2-Methyl-1-pentanol, 3-Methyl-1-pentanol, 2,4,4-Trimethyl-1-pentanol, 2,2,4-Trimethyl-1-pentanol, 2-Ethyl-3-methyl-1-pentanol und 2-Ethyl-1-hexanol.
- Das Molekulargewicht des Esters [III] unterliegt keinen besonderen Beschränkungen, aber das zahlenmittlere Molekulargewicht des Esters [III] liegt im Bereich von bevorzugt 200 bis 3000, mehr bevorzugt 300 bis 2000, um die Abdichtbarkeit des Kompressors zu verbessern.
- Als viertes wird der Polyolester [IVJ im Detail erläutert.
- Die mehrwertigen Neopentyl-Alkohole (a) mit 5 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen und 3 bis 4 Hydroxylgruppen werden durch Trimethylolethan, Trimethylolpropan und Pentaerythrit veranschaulicht.
- Die herbei bevorzugt verwendeten Monocarbonsäuren (b) sind solche mit 2 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen, und Beispiele dafür sind Essigsäure, Propionsäure, Butansäure, Pentansäure, Hexansäure, Heptansäure, Octansäure, Nonansäure, Decansäure, Undecansäure, Dodecansäure, Tridecansäure, Tetradecansäure und Pentadecansäure.
- Diese Carbonsäuren können entweder geradkettig oder verzweigtkettig sein, aber es ist bevorzugt, die letzteren einzusetzen, die eine verzweigtkettige Struktur in einer Menge von nicht weniger als 50 Mol%, mehr bevorzugt nicht weniger als 60 Mol% aufweisen.
- Die hier verwendeten Dicarbonsäuren (c) sind solche mit 2 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen, und Beispiele dafür sind gesättigte, aliphatische Dicarbonsäuren, wie Oxalsäure, Malonsäure, Bernsteinsäure, Glutarsäure, Adipinsäure, Pimelinsäure, Suberinsäure, Azelainsäure, Sebacinsäure, Methylmalonsäure, Ethylmalonsäure, Dimethylmalonsäure, Methylbernsteinsäure, 2,2-Dimethylbernsteinsäure, 2,3-Dimethylbernsteinsäure, 2-Ethyl-2- methylbernsteinsäure, 2-Methylglutarsäure, 3-Methylglutarsäure und 3- Methyladipinsäure ungesättigte, aliphatische Dicarbonsäuren, wie Maleinsäure, Fumarsäure, Itaconsäure, Citraconsäure und Mesaconsäure; und aromatische Dicarbonsäure, wie Phthalsäure, Terephthalsäure und Isophthalsäure.
- Die Ester [IV] werden durch Veresterungsreaktion der vorher erwähnten Komponente (a) mit der Komponente (b) und der Komponente (c) unter gewöhnlichen Bedingungen der Veresterung, beispielsweise in Gegenwart eines sauren Katalysators, wie Schwefelsäure, und bei einer Temperatur von 100 bis 180ºC hergestellt.
- Die chemische Struktur des erfindungsgemäßen Esters [IV] wird durch die folgende allgemeine Formel (6) veranschaulicht,
- worin X³ und X&sup4; gleich oder verschieden voneinander sein können und jeweils für eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen oder eine Gruppe der allgemeinen Formel -CH&sub2;-O- R³¹ stehen, R²&sup6;-R²&sup9; und R³¹ gleich oder verschieden voneinander sein können und jeweils für eine Alkylgruppe mit 4 bis 15 Kohlenstoffatomen stehen; R³&sup0; eine Alkylengruppe mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen ist; j eine ganze Zahl von 0 oder 1 ist; und k eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 5 ist.
- Das Molekulargewicht des Polyolesters [IV] unterliegt keinen besonderen Beschränkungen, das zahlenmittlere Molekulargewicht des Esters [IV] liegt jedoch im Bereich von bevorzugt 200 bis 3000, mehr bevorzugt 300 bis 2000, um die Abdichtbarkeit des Kompressors zu verbessern.
- Die durch die oben erwähnten Verfahren erhaltenen Produkte können zur Entfernung von Nebenprodukten und/oder nicht-umgesetzten Reaktanten gereinigt werden, die Nebenprodukte und/oder die nicht-umgesetzten Reaktanten können jedoch in kleinen Mengen in den erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenölen vorhanden sein, soweit sie deren hervorragende Eigenschaften nicht beeinträchtigen.
- Bei der Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle können die oben erwähnten Ester [I] bis [IV] einzeln oder gemeinsam als Gemisch von mindestens zwei Esterarten verwendet werden.
- Die kinematischen Viskositäten der erfindungsgemäßen Ester liegen im Bereich von bevorzugt 2 bis 150 cSt, mehr bevorzugt 5 bis 100 cSt bei 100ºC.
- Das erfindungsgemäße Kühlmaschinenöl kann als einziges Basisöl mindestens eine Verbindung ausgewählt aus den vorstehend genannten Estern [I] bis [IV] und erforderlichenfalls zusätzlich weitere Basisöle für Kühlmaschinenöle enthalten. Unter den weiteren Basisölen werden bevorzugte wie folgt erläutert:
- Ein Polyoxyalkylenglycol oder dessen Ether, dargestellt durch die allgemeine Formel (4)
- worin R¹&sup7; und R¹&sup8; jeweils ein Wasserstoffatom oder eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen sind, R¹&sup9; eine Alkylengruppe mit 2 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen ist und f eine ganze Zahl von 5 bis 70 ist, und
- ein Polyoxyalkylenglycolglycerinether der allgemeinen Formel (5)
- worin R²&sup0;-R²² jeweils für ein Wasserstoffatom oder eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen stehen, R²³-R²&sup5; jeweils für eine Alkylengruppe mit 2 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen stehen und g bis i jeweils eine ganze Zahl von 5 bis 7 sind.
- Diese herkömmlichen Öle der allgemeinen Formeln (4) und (5) können entweder einzeln oder gemeinsam als Zusatz zum erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöl eingesetzt werden. Des weiteren können dem erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöl paraffinische Mineralöle, naphtenische Mineralöle, Poly- α-olefine, Alkylbenzole und dgl. zugesetzt werden. In diesem Fall wird jedoch die Kompatibilität des entstehenden gemischten Öls mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen herabgesetzt.
- Die Menge dieser so zugesetzten, herkömmlichen Basisöle unterliegt keinen besonderen Beschränkungen, soweit die hervorragenden Eigenschaften der erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle nicht beeinträchtigt werden, die Ester [I] bis [IVJ sollten jedoch in dem entstehenden Ölgemisch in einem Verhältnis von gewöhnlich mehr als 50 Gew.-%, bevorzugt nicht weniger als 70 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des Ölgemischs, vorhanden sein.
- Die erfindungsgemäße Kühlmaschinenöl-Zusammensetzung kann mindestens eine Art einer Phosphorverbindung, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus Phosphorsäureestern, sauren Phosphorsäureestern, Aminsalzen von sauren Phosphorsäureestern, chlorierten Phosphorsäureestern und Estern der phosphorigen Säure enthalten, um die Verschleißbeständigkeit und den Belastungswiderstand der Ölzusammensetzung zu verbessern. Diese Phosphorverbindungen sind Ester der Phosphorsäure oder der phosphorigen Säure und eines Alkanols oder eines Polyether-Alkohols oder Derivate der Ester. Beispiele für die Phosphorsäureester sind Tributylphosphat, Triphenylphosphat und Tricresylphosphat. Beispiele für die sauren Phosphorsäureester sind Ditetradecylhydrogenphosphat, Dipentadecylhydrogenphosphat, Dihexadecylhydrogenphosphat, Diheptadecylhydrogenphosphat und Dioctadecylhydrogenphosphat. Beispiele für die Aminsalze der sauren Phosphorsäureester sind Salze aus den oben genannten sauren Phosphorsäureestern und Aminen, wie Methylamin, Ethylamin, Propylamin, Butylamin, Pentylamin, Hexylamin, Heptylamin, Octylamin, Dimethylamin, Diethylamin, Dipropylamin, Dibutylamin, Dipentylamin, Dihexyalamin, Diheptylamin, Dioctylamin, Trimethylamin, Triethylamin, Tripropylamin, Tributylamin, Tripentylamin, Trihexylamin, Triheptylamin und Trioctylamin. Beispiele für ch lorierte Phosphorsäureester sind Tris-dichlorpropylphosphat, Tris- chlorethylphosphat, Polyoxyalkylen-bis[di(chloralkyl)]phosphat und Tris- chlorphenylphosphat. Beispiele für die Ester der phosphorigen Säure sind Dibutylphosphit, Tributylphosphit, Dipentylphosphit, Tripentylphosphit, Dihexylphosphit, Trihexylphosphit, Diheptylphosphit, Triheptylphosphit, Dioctylphosphit, Trioctylphosphit, Dinonylphosphit, Didecylphosphit, Diundecylphosphit, Triundecylphosphit, Didodecylphosphit, Tridodecylphosphit, Diphenylphosphit, Triphenylphosphit, Dicresylphosphit, Tricresylphosphit und Gemische davon. Diese Phosphorverbindungen können dem Kühlmaschinenöl in einem Verhältnis von 0,1 bis 5,0 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 0,2 bis 2,0 Gew.-%, von der Gesamtmenge des Kühlmaschinenöls zugesetzt werden.
- Um die Stabilität des erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöls weiter zu verbessern, wird ihm mindestens eine Epoxyverbindung, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus Epoxyverbindungen vom Phenylglycidylethertyp, Epoxyverbindungen vom Glycidylestertyp, epoxidierten Fettsäuremonoestern und epoxidierten Pflanzenölen, zugesetzt. Die hier verwendeten Epoxyverbindungen vom Phenyglycidylethertyp schließen Phenylglycidylether und Alkylphenylglycidylether ein. Die Alkylphenylglycidylether sind solche mit 1 bis 3 Alkylgruppen mit 1 bis 13 Kohlenstoffatomen, unter denen die mit einer Alkylgruppe mit 4 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen, wie Butylphenylglycidylether, Pentylphenylglycidylether, Hexylphenylglycidylether, Heptylphenylglycidylether, Octylphenylglycidylether, Nonylphenylglycidylether und Decylphenylglycidylether bevorzugt sind. Die Epoxyverbindungen vom Glycidylestertyp schließen Phenylglycidylester, Alkylglycidylester und Alkenylglycidylester ein, wobei Glycidylbenzoat, Glycidylacrylat, Glycidylmethacrylat und dgl. bevorzugt sind.
- Die epoxidierten Fettsäuremonoester schließen Ester einer epoxidierten Fettsäure mit 12 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen und eines Alkohols mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, eines Phenols oder eines Alkylphenols ein.
- Insbesondere können Butyl-, Hexyl-, Benzyl-, Cyclohexyl-, Methoxyethyl-, Octyl-, Phenyl- oder Butylphenylester der epoxidierten Stearinsäure bevorzugt eingesetzt werden.
- Die epoxidierten Pflanzenöle schließen epoxidierte Verbindungen von Pflanzenölen, wie Sojabohnenöl, Leinsamenöl und Baumwollsaatöl, ein.
- Unter diesen Epoxyverbindung sind die bevorzugten Epoxyverbindungen vom Phenylglycidylethertyp und epoxidierte Fettsäuremonoester, wobei die ersteren mehr bevorzugt sind. Am meisten bevorzugt sind Phenylglycidylether, Butylphenylglycidylether und Gemische davon.
- In dem Fall, in dem diese Epoxyverbindungen dem erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöl zugesetzt werden sollen, ist es zweckmäßig, daß sie in einem Verhältnis von 0,1 bis 5,0 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 0,2 bis 2,0 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des Kühlmaschinenöls, zugesetzt werden.
- Natürlich können sowohl die vorher erwähnten Phosphorverbindungen als auch die Epoxyverbindungen gemeinsam miteinander verwendet werden.
- Um das Leistungsvermögen des erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöls noch weiter zu erhöhen, können dem Kühlmaschinenöl erforderlichenfalls bekannte Additive für ein Kühlmaschinenöl zugesetzt werden, die Antioxidantien vom Phenoltyp, wie Di-tert.-butyl-p-cresol und Bisphenol A, Antioxidantien vom Amintyp, wie Phenyl-α-naphthylamin und N,N-Di(2- naphthyl)-p-phenylendiamin; verschleißbeständige Additive, wie Zinkdithiophosphat; Hochdruckmittel, wie chlorierte Paraffin- und Schwefelverbindungen; Mittel zur Verbesserung der Schmierfähigkeit, wie Fettsäuren; Antischäummittel wie solche vom Silicontyp; und Metallinaktivatoren, wie Benzotriazol einschließen. Diese Additive können einzeln oder gemeinsam verwendet werden. Die Gesamtmenge dieser zugesetzten Additive beträgt gewöhnlich nicht mehr als 10 Gew.-%, bevorzugt nicht mehr als 5 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des Kühlmaschinenöls.
- Die erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle, die mindestens einen der Ester [I] bis [IV] als Basisöl enthalten, sollten eine Viskosität und einen Stockpunkt aufweisen, der bzw. die für ein gewöhnliches Kühlmaschinenöl normalerweise geeignet sind, sollten jedoch zweckmäßigerweise einen Stockpunkt von nicht höher als -10 C, bevorzugt -20ºC bis -80ºC, besitzen, um die Verfestigung bei niedriger Temperatur zu verhindern. Des weiteren sollten sie zweckmäßigerweise eine kinematische Viskosität von nicht weniger als 2 cSt, bevorzugt nicht weniger als 3 cSt bei 100ºC, besitzen, um die Abdichtbarkeit des Kompressors beim Betrieb aufrechtzuerhalten, während sie zweckmäßigerweise eine kinematische Viskosität von nicht mehr als 150 cSt, bevorzugt nicht mehr als 100 cSt bei 100ºC, im Hinblick auf ihr Fließverhalten bei niedriger Temperatur und die Wirksamkeit des Wärmeaustauschs im Verdampfer bei Betrieb besitzen sollten.
- Die Kühlmittel, die in den Kühlmaschinen verwendet werden können, in denen die Schmieröle (Kühlmaschinenöle) der vorliegenden Erfindung in geeigneter Weise verwendet werden, schließen halogenierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Trifluormethan (HFC-23), Pentafluorethan (HFC-125), 1,1,2,2- Tetrafluorethan (HFC-134), 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluorethan (HFC-134a), 1,1-Difluorethan (HFC-152a), Monochlordifluormethan (HCFC-22), 1-Chlor-1,1-difluorethan (HCFC-142b), Dichlortrifluorethan (HCFC-123), Monochlortetrafluorethan (HCFC-124) und Gemische davon ein. Unter diesen halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen sind chlorfreie Halogenkohlenstoffe, wie HFC-23, HFC- 125, HFC-134, HFC-134a und HFC-152a bevorzugt, wobei HFC-134a unter dem Gesichtspunkt der Umweltproblematik besonders bevorzugt ist.
- Die erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle sind im Vergleich zu den bekannten Kühlmaschinenölen in Bezug auf ihre Kompatibilität mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen hervorragend. Des weiteren sind die erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle nicht nur aufgrund ihrer hohen Kompatibilität mit halogenierten Kohlenwasserstoffen und ihres hohen elektrischen Isoliervermögens, sondern auch aufgrund ihrer hohen Schmierfähigkeit und ihrer geringen Hygroskopizität hervorragend.
- Die erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle können besonders bevorzugt in Kühlmaschinen, Klimaanlagen, Entfeuchtern, Kühlboxen, Gefriergeräten, Gefrier- und Kühlhäusern, Verkaufsautomaten, Vitrinen, Kühleinheiten in chemischen Fabriken und dgl., die einen Kolben- oder Rotationskompressor besitzen, verwendet werden. Des weiteren können die oben genannten Kühlmaschinenöle auch bevorzugt in Kühlmaschinen mit einem zentrifugalen Kompressor verwendet werden.
- Die Erfindung wird durch die folgenden Beispiele und Vergleichsbeispiele näher erläutert.
- Die erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle und die zum Vergleich verwendeten Kühlmaschinenöle des herkömmlichen Typs sind folgende:
- Ein Tetraester von Pentaerythrit (1 Mol) und 2-Ethylhexansäure (4 Mol):

- Das Leistungsvermögen der Basisöle aus den Beispielen 1 bis 23 für die erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle, d.h. ihre Kompatibilität mit HFC- 134a, ihr Isolationsvermögen, ihre Verschleißbeständigkeit und Hygroskopizität wurde durch die folgenden Testverfahren bewertet. Zum Vergleich wurden das Mineralöl, das Alkylbenzol, die Polyglykole und die Ester der Vergleichsbeispiele, die zuvor als Kühlmaschinenöl verwendet worden waren, in der gleichen Weise wie in den Beispielen 1 bis 23 bewertet.
- 0,2 g des Testöls aus jedem der Beispiele und Vergleichsbeispiele und 1,8 g des Kühlmittels (HFC-134a) wurden in einem Glasrohr mit einem Innendurchmesser von 6 mm und einer Länge von 220 mm eingeschlossen. Dieses Glasrohr wurde dann in einen auf einer vorher bestimmten niedrigen Temperatur oder hohen Temperatur gehaltenen Thermostaten eingebracht, um zu beobachten, ob das Kühlmittel und das Testöl miteinander mischbar waren, sich voneinander trennten oder trüb-weiß wurden.
- Der spezifische Volumenwiderstand bei 25ºC der Testöle wurde gemäß der JIS-Norm C 2101 gemessen.
- Die Testöle wurden jeweils bei einem Testzapfen angewendet, um die Menge des Testzapfens zu messen, die verschlissen wurde, wenn der Testzapfen bei einer Temperatur des Testöls von 100ºC unter einer Last von 150 lb 1 min lang und anschließend unter einer Last von 250 lb 2 h lang gemäß der ASTM-Norm D 2670 betrieben wurde.
- Jeweils dreißig Gramm (30 g) der Testöle wurden in ein 300 ml-Becherglas gegeben und 7 Tage lang bei einer Temperatur von 60ºC und einer Luftfeuchtigkeit von 30 % in einem Luft-thermostatisierten Bad stehengelassen. Anschließend wurde der Wassergehalt nach dem Karl-Fischer-Verfahren bestimmt. - Aus den in Tabelle 1 gezeigten Werten wird offensichtlich, daß die erfindungsgemäßen Kühlmaschinenöle (Beispiele 1 bis 23) im Vergleich mit jenen der Vergleichsbeispiele 1 bis 2 und 7 bis 10 hervorragend in Bezug auf die Mischbarkeit mit einem Kühlmittel, HFC-134a, sind.
- Wie aus den in Tabelle 2 gezeigten Ergebnissen offensichtlich ist, sind die Ester aus den Vergleichsbeispielen 7 und 9, bei denen sämtliche Alkylgruppen der Säuregruppierung geradkettig sind, in Bezug auf die Mischbarkeit mit dem Kühlmittel unterlegen. Die Tabelle 2 zeigt weiterhin, daß die Ester aus den Vergleichsbeispielen 8 und 10, die bisher als Schmieröle, Kühlmaschinenöle und dgl. verwendet worden sind und bei denen die Säuregruppierung aus einem natürlichen Fett oder Öl stammt, ebenfalls in Bezug auf die Mischbarkeit mit dem Kühlmittel unterlegen sind.
- Die Tabelle 2 zeigt weiterhin, daß die Ether aus den Vergleichsbeispielen 3 und 4 sowie die Polyoxypropylenglykole aus den Vergleichsbeispielen 5 und 6 in Bezug auf die Mischbarkeit mit dem Kühlmittel hervorragend sind, daß diese Ether und Glykole jedoch in Bezug auf ihr fsolationsvermögen unterlegen sind, wodurch sie für hermetische Kompressoren unbrauchbar werden. Tabellen 1 und 2 zeigen weiterhin, daß die Ether und Glykole aus den Vergleichsbeispielen 3 bis 6 eine 5- bis 10-mal so große Hygroskopizität aufweisen wie die Kühlmaschinenöle aus den Beispielen 1 bis 23 und ebenfalls in Bezug auf ihr elektrisches Isoliervermögen, die Unterdrückung der Eisbildung, der Verschleißbeständigkeit, der Stabilität und dgl. den Kühlmaschinenölen aus den Beispielen unterlegen sind.
- Der FALEX-Verschleißtest zeigt, daß die Kühlmaschinenöle aus den Beispielen 1 bis 23 in Bezug auf die Verschleißbeständigkeit jenen aus den Vergleichsbeispielen 3 bis 6 mindestens ebenbürtig sind.
- Wie aus den obigen Vergleichsversuchen offensichtlich wird, sind die erfindungsgemäßen Schmieröle für Kompressoren von Kühlmaschinen, in dehalogenierter Kohlenwasserstoff als Kühlmittel verwendet wird, für die Verwendung in Kühlmaschinen geeignet. Sie sind hervorragend in Bezug auf ihr elektrisches Isolationsvermögen, ihre Verschleißbeständigkeit sowie in Bezug auf ihre Eigenschaft, nicht hygroskopisch zu sein.

1. Kühlmaschinenöl zur Verwendung in Kompressoren, in dem
ein halogenierter Kohlenwasserstoff als Kühlmittel verwendet
wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
das es im wesentlichen aus mindestens einem Ester als
Basisöl, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus:
[I] einem Pentaerythritester der allgemeinen Formel

worin R¹-R&sup4; gleich oder verschieden voneinander sein können
und jeweils eine Gruppe, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe,
bestehend aus geradkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 11
Kohlenstof fatomen, verzweigtkettigen Alkylgruppen mit 3 bis 15
Kohlenstoffatomen und Cycloalkylgruppen mit 6 bis 12
Kohlenstoffatomen, sind, wobei die geradkettigen Alkylgruppen
in einem Verhältnis von nicht mehr als 60 % der gesamten
Alkylgruppen vorhanden sind, und a eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3
ist;
[II] einem Polyolester der allgemeinen Formel (2)
worin R&sup5;-R&sup7; gleich oder verschieden voneinander sein können

jeweils eine verzweigtkettige Alkylgruppe mit 3 bis 14
Kohlenstoffatomen
sind, c und e jeweils eine ganze Zahl von 0
oder 1 sind, und d eine ganze Zahl von 0 bis 30 ist; und
[IV] einem Polyolester, erhalten durch die Synthese von
(a) einem mehrwertigen Neopentyl-Alkohol mit 5 bis 6
Kohlenstoffatomen und 3 bis 4 Hydroxylgruppen, (b) einer
geradkettigen Monocarbonsäure und/oder einer verzweigtkettigen
Monocarbonsäure, wobei die verzweigtkettige Monocarbonsäure in
einem Verhältnis von nicht weniger als 50 Mol% der gesamten
Monocarbonsäuren vorhanden ist, (c) einer Dicarbonsäure als
Ausgangsmaterialien; und daß es weiterhin mindestens eine
Epoxyverbindung, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe, bestehend aus
Epoxyverbindungen vom Phenylglycidylether-Typ,
Epoxyverbindungen vom Glycidylester-Typ, epoxidierten
Fettsäuremonoestern und epoxidierten Pflanzenölen in einer Menge von 0,1
bis 5,0 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des
Kühlmaschinenöls, enthält.
2. Kühlmaschinenöl nach Anspruch 1, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß der halogenierte
Kohlenwasserstoff ein Kohlenwasserstoff vom chlorfreien Typ ist.
3. Kühlmaschinenöl nach Anspruch 1, dadurch
gekenn2eichnet, daß es weiterhin mindestens eine
Art einer Phosphorverbindung, ausgewählt aus der Gruppe,
bestehend aus Phosphorsäureestern, sauren Phosphorsäureestern,
Aminsalzen von Phosphorsäureestern, chlorierten
Phosphorsäureestern und Estern der phosphorigen Säure, in einer
Menge von 0,1 bis 5,0 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge
des Kühlmaschinenöls, enthält.
4. Kühlmaschinenöl nach Anspruch 1, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Basisöl einen Stockpunkt
von nicht höher als -10ºC und eine kinematische Viskosität
von 2 bis 150 cst bei 100ºC besitzt.
