Muffenkupplung für schmiedeiserne Rohre.

Die Zeichnung zeigt die Muffenkupplung, wie dieselbe zwei Rohre verbindet. Wie aus Fig. ι
ersichtlich, befindet sich im Muffengehäuse ά unten und oben ein nach innen vorspringender
Rand. Die Oeffnung im unteren Rande ist dem äufseren Umfange der zu verbindenden Rohre
entsprechend; die Oeffnung des oberen Randes ist so grofs, dafs die Plantschen, welche sich
an den Enden der Rohre befinden, durchgesteckt werden können. In diesem oberen Rande
befinden sich zwei Einschnitte in radialer Richtung.
Auf der hohlen Kopfschraube c, die so weit ausgebohrt ist, dafs sie sich auf dem Rohre
bequem drehen und schieben läfst, sitzt eine runde Mutterschraube b, deren äufserer Umfang
etwas kleiner ist als die Oeffnung im oberen Rande des Gehäuses a., Diese Mutterschr,aube
hat seitlich zwei Ansätze in radialer Richtung, die sich leicht durch die oben angeführten Einschnitte
im oberen Rande in das Gehäuse
schieben lassen. Die Entfernung vom unteren bis zum oberen Rande im Innern des Gehäuses a
gestattet den beiden Rohrflantschen, dem dazwischen liegenden Dichtungsmaterial und der
Mutterschraube b genügenden Raum.
Wird nun die Kopfschraube c mit der auf ihr sitzenden Mutterschraube b durch den oberen
Rand in das Gehäuse gebracht und umgedreht, so greifen die Ansätze der Schraube b unter
den oberen Rand. Ein im Gehäuse angebrachter Anschlag gestattet aber der Mutterschraube
nur 90° Umdrehung, während die Kopfschraube weiter gedreht werden kann, bis ihr unteres
Ende auf die Rohrflantschen drückt und so die beiden Rohre fest an einander preist.

- Patent-Anspruch:In einem Muffengehäuse vermittelst einer hohlen Kopfschraube und einer auf ihr sitzenden entgegengesetzt drückenden Mutterschraube zwei Rohre direct zu verkuppeln.Hierzu ι Blatt Zeichnungen.
