Description
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Katalysatorkomponente
zur Verwendung bei der Polymerisation oder Copolymerisation
von Olefinen. Diese Katalysatorkomponente weist einen hohen
katalytischen Wirkungsgrad auf, enthält nur eine kleine Menge
einer modifizierten Organoaluminiumverbindung, liefert ein
Polymeres mit hohem Molekulargewicht und einer relativ brei
ten Molekulargewichtsverteilung und ermöglicht die einfache
Steuerung des Molekulargewichts und der Molekulargewichtsver
teilung. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner einen Katalysator, in
dem diese Katalysatorkomponente Anwendung findet, und ein
Verfahren zur Herstellung von Olefinpolymeren unter Verwen
dung eines derartigen Katalysators. Unter dem hier verwende
ten Ausdruck Olefinpolymere sind allgemein sowohl Homopoly
mere als auch Copolymere von Olefinen zu verstehen.
Zur Herstellung von Ethylenpolymeren, wie Polyethylen oder
Ethylen/α-Olefin-Copolymeren mit einer engen Molekularge
wichtsverteilung und einer engen Verteilung der Zusammenset
zung wurde kürzlich die Verwendung eines Katalysators mit
einem Gehalt an einer Zirconiumverbindung und einem Alu
minoxan vorgeschlagen (JP-58-19309A).
Gemäß einem Verfahren unter Verwendung eines derartigen Kata
lysators erhält man ein Ethylencopolymeres in hoher Ausbeute,
wobei das Copolymere sowohl eine enge Molekulargewichtsver
teilung als auch eine enge Verteilung der Zusammensetzung
aufweist. Jedoch ist das Molekulargewicht des Copolymeren ge
ring und die Menge des verwendeten Aluminoxans ist groß.
JP-3-234005A schlägt die Verwendung einer Übergangsmetallverbindung
mit einer 2-, 3- oder 4-substituierten Cyclopentadie
nylgruppe vor, um das Molekulargewicht des erhaltenen Polyme
ren zu verbessern. In JP-2-22307A wird die Verwendung einer
Hafniumverbindung mit einem Liganden, der an mindestens zwei
vernetzte, konjugierte Cycloalkadienylgruppen gebunden ist,
vorgeschlagen, um das Molekulargewicht des erhaltenen Polyme
ren zu verbessern. Jedoch ist die Verwendung von Hafnium als
Übergangsmetall insofern nachteilig, als die Ausbeute des er
haltenen Polymeren niedrig ist.
Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es, einen Katalysator
und ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Olefinhomopolymeren
oder -copolymeren mit hohem Molekulargewicht und einer rela
tiv breiten Molekulargewichtsverteilung in hoher Ausbeute be
reitzustellen, wobei eine äußerst geringe Menge einer modifi
zierten Organoaluminiumverbindung (insbesondere Methylalu
minoxan) verwendet werden soll.
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Katalysatorkomponente für die Po
lymerisation von Olefinen, die folgende Bestandteile enthält:
- (1) eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel RpMX4-p, worin M ein Übergangsmetall der Gruppe IVa des Periodensystems bedeu tet, R eine Cyclopentadienyl-, substituierte Cyclopentadie nyl-, Indenyl-, substituierte Indenyl- oder Aralkylgruppe mit 7 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet, mit der Maßgabe, daß die Reste R über eine C₂-C₈-Alkylengruppe und/oder eine Silylen gruppe miteinander verbunden sein können, X ein Halogenatom, ein Wasserstoffatom oder einen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 1 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet und p eine Zahl ist, die die Bedingung 1p4 erfüllt; und
- (2) eine Verbindung mit einer Kohlenstoff-Fluor-Bindung.
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft auch einen Olefinpolymeri
sationskatalysator mit einem Gehalt an der vorstehenden Kata
lysatorkomponente und einer modifizierten Organoaluminiumver
bindung mit einer Al-O-Al-Bindung, die durch Umsetzung einer
Organoaluminiumverbindung und Wasser erhalten worden ist.
Ferner betrifft die Erfindung ein Verfahren zur Herstellung
von Olefinhomopolymeren oder -copolymeren, das durch die Ho
mopolymerisation oder Copolymerisation eines oder mehrerer
Olefine in Gegenwart eines Katalysators mit einem Gehalt an
der vorstehenden Katalysatorkomponente und einer modifizier
ten Organoaluminiumverbindung mit einer Al-O-Al-Bindung, die
durch Umsetzung einer Organoaluminiumverbindung und Wasser
erhalten worden ist, gekennzeichnet ist.
Der erfindungsgemäße Olefinpolymerisationskatalysator weist
eine hohe Aktivität pro Übergangsmetall auf und behält seine
hohe Aktivität selbst dann, wenn die Menge der modifizierten
Organoaluminiumverbindung (insbesondere Aluminoxan) äußerst
gering ist. Daneben weist das erhaltene Olefinhomopolymere
oder -copolymere ein hohes Molekulargewicht und eine relativ
breite Molekulargewichtsverteilung auf.
Nachstehend wird zunächst die erfindungsgemäß verwendete Ver
bindung der allgemeinen Formel RpMX4-p näher erläutert. In
dieser Formel bedeutet M ein Übergangsmetall der Gruppe IVa
des Periodensystems, vorzugsweise Ti, Zr oder Hf und insbe
sondere Ti. R bedeutet eine Cyclopentadienyl-, substituierte
Cyclopentadienyl-, Indenyl-, substituierte Indenyl- oder
Aralkylgruppe mit 7 bis 24 und insbesondere 7 bis 13 Kohlen
stoffatomen. Die Reste R können über eine C₂-C₈-Alkylengruppe
und vorzugsweise eine C₂-C₄-Alkylengruppe und/oder eine Sily
lengruppe miteinander verbunden sein. X bedeutet ein Halo
genatom, wie Chlor, Brom oder Fluor, ein Wasserstoffatom oder
einen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 1 bis 24 und vorzugsweise 1
bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen. p ist eine Zahl, die die Bedingung
1p4 erfüllt.
Bevorzugte Beispiele für Substituenten in den substituieren
Cyclopentadienyl- und substituierten Indenylgruppen im Rahmen
von R sind C₁-C₆-Alkylreste, wie Methyl, Ethyl, Propyl, Bu
tyl, Pentyl und Hexyl, sowie entsprechende verzweigte Reste
und das Wasserstoffatom. Beispiele für Aralkylgruppen sind
Benzyl, Phenethyl, Benzhydryl, Trityl, Phenylbutyl und Phe
nylpropyl.
Sofern die Reste R miteinander über eine Alkylengruppe
und/oder eine Silylengruppe verbunden sind, wird aus einem
Wasserstoffatom in R eine freie Valenz und R kann eine zwei
wertige Gruppe bedeuten.
Sofern eine Alkylengruppe vorhanden ist, die die Reste R mit
einander verbindet und sofern R Cyclopentadienyl, substitu
iertes Cyclopentadienyl, Indenyl oder substituiertes Indenyl
bedeutet, so verbindet die Alkylengruppe üblicherweise diese
Ringe.
Sofern eine Silylengruppe vorhanden ist, die die Reste R mit
einander verbindet, gehören zu Beispielen für eine derartige
Silylengruppe Silylen, Dimethylsilylen, Phenylmethylsilylen,
Diphenylsilylen, Disilylen und Tetramethylsilylen. Wenn R Cy
clopentadienyl, substituiertes Cyclopentadienyl, Indenyl oder
substituiertes Indenyl bedeutet, verbindet die Silylengruppe
üblicherweise diese Ringe miteinander.
Bevorzugte Beispiele für Kohlenwasserstoffreste im Rahmen von
X sind die vorerwähnten Alkylgruppen, wie Methyl, Ethyl, Pro
pyl, Isopropyl, Cyclopropyl, Butyl, Isobutyl, tert.-Butyl,
Cyclobutyl, Pentyl, Isopentyl, Neopentyl, Cyclopentyl, Hexyl,
Isohexyl, Cyclohexyl, Heptyl und Octyl, Alkenylgruppen, wie
Vinyl und Allyl, Arylgruppen, wie Phenyl, Tolyl, Xylyl, Mesi
tyl, Indenyl und Naphthyl, Aralkylgruppen, wie Benzyl, Tri
tyl, Phenethyl, Styryl, Benzhydryl, Trityl, Phenylbutyl und
Phenylpropyl, Alkoxygruppen, wie Methoxy, Ethoxy, Propoxy,
Butoxy und Pentyloxy, Aralkyloxygruppen, wie Phenoxy und To
lyloxy, sowie Aryloxygruppen, wie Benzyloxy. Im Fall von 1p2
kann X gleiche oder unterschiedliche Bedeutungen haben.

Bei der Verbindung mit einer Kohlenstoff-Fluor-Bindung, die
den weiteren wesentlichen Bestandteil der erfindungsgemäßen
Katalysatorkomponente für die Olefinpolymerisation darstellt,
handelt es sich um eine Verbindung, die in ihrem Molekül eine
Kohlenstoff-Fluor-Bindung aufweist. Insbesondere handelt es
sich um eine organische Verbindung, in der ein Wasserstoff
atom, zwei Wasserstoffatome oder sämtliche Wasserstoffatome
durch Fluoratome substituiert sind. Beispielsweise handelt es
sich um eine Verbindung mit einer Kohlenstoff-Fluor-Bindung
der allgemeinen Formel R²-R³q oder R²(A-R³)q, worin q die Be
dingung 1q4 und vorzugsweise 1q3 erfüllt, A eine
unter -O-, -OSiR⁴₂-, -C(OR⁵)₂- und -C(OR⁵)₂O- ausgewählte
Gruppe bedeutet, R² eine fluoratomhaltige C₁-C₃₀-Kohlenwas
serstoffgruppe bedeutet, R³ und R⁴ jeweils Wasserstoffatome,
Halogenatome oder C₁-C₃₀-Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen bedeuten,
R⁵ eine C₁-C₃₀-Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe bedeutet, mit der Maß
gabe, daß, wenn R³, R⁴ und R⁵ mehrfach auftreten, diese Reste
gleich oder verschieden sein können und R² und R³ unter Bil
dung eines Rings verbunden sein können.
Die hier erwähnte Halogenkohlenwasserstoffgruppe bezeichnet
eine Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe, in der einige oder sämtliche
Wasserstoffatome in den Molekülen durch Halogenatome,wie
Fluor, Chlor, Brom oder Iod, substituiert sind. Bei der Koh
lenwasserstoffgruppe handelt es sich um eine einwertige Koh
lenwaserstoffgruppe mit üblicherweise 1 bis 30, vorzugsweise
1 bis 20 und insbesondere 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, oder um
eine mehrwertige Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe mit 2 bis 4 freien
Valenzen. Beispiele für einwertige Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen
sind Alkylgruppen, wie Methyl, Ethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, Cy
clopropyl, Butyl, Isobutyl, tert.-Butyl, Cyclobutyl, Pentyl,
Isopentyl, Neopentyl, Cyclopentyl, Hexyl, Isohexyl, Cyclo
hexyl, Heptyl und Octyl, Alkenylgruppen, wie Vinyl und Allyl,
Arylgruppen, wie Phenyl, Tolyl, Xylyl, Mesityl, Indenyl und
Naphthyl, und Aralkylgruppen, wie Benzyl, Trityl, Phenethyl,
Styryl, Benzhydryl, Trityl, Phenylbutyl und Phenylpropyl.
Beispiele für zweiwertige Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen sind Alky
lengruppen, wie Methylen, Ethylen, Propylen und Butylen, so
wie Arylen und Arylalkylen. Beispiele für dreiwertige Kohlen
wasserstoffgruppen sind Alkantriyl, Arentriyl und Arylal
kantriyl. Beispiele für vierwertige Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen
sind Alkantetrayl, Arentetrayl und Arylalkantetrayl. Selbst
verständlich können diese Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen Verzwei
gungen aufweisen, oder es können einige der Methylengruppen
in der Molekülkette durch Heteroatome, z. B. Sauerstoffatome,
ersetzt sein.
Die fluoratomhaltige Halogenkohlenwasserstoffgruppe im Rahmen
von R² in der vorstehenden Formel weist als Halogenrest ein
Fluoratom allein oder sowohl ein Fluoratom und ein weiteres
beliebiges Halogenatom, z. B. Chlor, Brom oder Iod auf. Die
Anzahl der als Substituenten vorliegenden Fluoratome ist
nicht besonders beschränkt. Es können 1, 2 oder mehr oder
sämtliche Wasserstoffatome durch Fluoratome ersetzt sein.
Auch hinsichtlich der Substitutionsposition und der steri
schen Konfiguration gibt es keine speziellen Beschränkungen,
so daß diesbezüglich eine willkürliche Auswahl möglich ist.

haltende Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen, d. h. für R² aufgeführt:

Ferner können 2- bis 4-wertige Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen, die
das gleiche Kohlenstoffgerüst wie die vorerwähnten einwerti
gen Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen aufweisen, als Beispiele für
fluorhaltige Halogenkohlenstoffgruppen verwendet werden, wo
bei 1 bis 3 Wasserstoffatome in den einzelnen Molekülen zu
freien Valenzen werden.
Die Substitutionspositionen für die Fluoratome können in den
vorstehend erwähnten fluorhaltigen Halogenkohlenstoffgruppen
recht willkürlich gewählt werden, so daß beliebige Positionen
herangezogen werden können.
Beispiele für Halogenatome in R³, R⁴ und R⁵ sind die vorer
wähnten Fluor-, Chlor-, Brom- und Iodatome. Die vorerwähnte
Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe bedeutet eine ggf. substituierte Koh
lenwasserstoffgruppe, in der ein oder mehrere Wasserstoff
atome durch beliebige funktionelle Gruppen ersetzt sind. Bei
spiele für derartige funktionelle Gruppen sind Gruppen der
allgemeinen Formel -OR, worin R die vorerwähnte Kohlenwasser
stoff- oder Halogenkohlenwasserstoffgruppe mit 1 bis 20 Koh
lenstoffatomen bedeutet, sowie Halogenatome, wie Fluor,
Chlor, Brom und Iod. Als Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe, die als
Grundgerüst für den erwähnten Kohlenwasserstoffrest dient,
lassen sich Gruppen mit 1 bis 30, vorzugsweise mit 1 bis 20
und insbesondere mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen erwähnen.

Die fluoratomhaltige Halogenkohlenstoffgruppe im Rahmen von
R⁶ in den vorstehenden Formeln weist als Halogenrest ein
Fluoratom allein oder ein Fluoratom und ein beliebiges wei
teres Halogenatom, wie Chlor, Brom oder Iod auf. Die Anzahl
der als Substituenten vorliegenden Fluoratome ist nicht spe
ziell beschränkt. Ein Wasserstoffatom, zwei oder mehr Wasser
stoffatome oder sämtliche Wasserstoffatome können durch
Fluoratome substituiert sein. Ferner gibt es hinsichtlich der
Substitutionsposition und der sterischen Konfiguration keine

R⁹ hat in den vorstehenden Formeln die gleiche Bedeutung wie
R⁸ oder bedeutet ein Wasserstoffatom. R¹⁰ bedeutet ein Was
serstoffatom oder ein Halogenatom, wie Fluor, Chlor, Brom

einem von einem Alkohol abgeleiteten Kohlenstoffgerüst. Kon

Beispiele für Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel VI sind Or
thoesterverbindungen mit mindestens einem Fluoratom in einem
von einer Carbonsäure abgeleiteten Kohlenstoffgerüst. Kon
krete Beispiele hierfür sind 1,1,1-Trimethoxy-2,2,2-tri
fluorethan und 1,1,1-Triethoxy-2,2,2-trifluorethan.
Beispiele für Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel VII sind
Orthoesterverbindungen mit mindestens einem Fluoratom in
einem von einem Alkohol abgeleiteten Kohlenstoffgerüst. Ein
konkretes Beispiel hierfür ist 1,1,1-Tri-(2,2,2-trifluoreth
oxy)-ethan.
Beispiele für Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel VIII sind
Halogenkohlenstoffverbindungen mit mindestens einem Fluoratom
oder Kohlenwasserstoffverbindungen mit mindestens einem
Fluoratom. Konkrete Beispiele hierfür sind Perfluorhexan,
Perfluorheptan, Perfluormethylcyclohexan, Perfluoroctan, 1-
Bromheptadecafluoroctan, Perfluordodecan, Perfluor-2,7-dime
thyloctan, Perfluor-2,11-dimethyldodecan, Tribromfluormethan,
Dibromfluormethan, 1-Brom-2-fluormethan, 1,2-Dibrom-1,1-

Von den vorstehenden allgemeinen Formeln werden die Formeln
II und III bevorzugt. Unter den vorstehend aufgeführten Ver
bindungen werden folgende Verbindungen besonders bevorzugt:
3-Perfluorhexyl-1,2-epoxypropan, 2-Trifluormethylfuran, 2-
Trifluormethyltetrahydrofuran, 2-Trifluormethyltetrahydropy
ran, 2,2,2-Trifluorethylbenzylether, 2,2,2-Trifluorethyltri
tylether, 2,2,3,3-Pentafluorpropyltritylether, 1H,1H-He
xafluorbutyltritylether, 2,2,2-Trifluorethyltriphenylsi
lylether, 2,2,3,3-Pentafluorpropyltriphenylsilylether, 1H,1H-
Hexafluorbutyltriphenylsilylether, 2,2-Dimethoxy-1,1,1-
trifluorpropan, 2,2-Diethoxy-1,1,1-trifluorpropan, 2,2-Di

Selbstverständlich können diese Verbindungen in einer Kombi
nation aus zwei oder mehr Verbindungen eingesetzt werden.
Bei der erfindungsgemäß verwendeten modifizierten Organoalu
miniumverbindung handelt es sich um das Reaktionsprodukt von
einer Organoaluminiumverbindung und Wasser. Sie enthält 1 bis
100 und vorzugsweise 1 bis 50 Al-O-Al-Bindungen im Molekül.
Die Umsetzung der Organoaluminiumverbindung mit Wasser wird
üblicherweise in einem inerten Kohlenwasserstoff durchge
führt. Beim inerten Kohlenwasserstoff kann es sich um belie
bige aliphatische, alicyclische und aromatische Kohlenwasser
stoffe handeln, wie Pentan, Hexan, Heptan, Cyclohexan, Me
thylcyclohexan, Benzol, Toluol und Xylol, wobei aliphatische
und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe bevorzugt werden.
Bei der vorstehend erwähnten Organoaluiminiumverbindung han
delt es sich üblicherweise um eine Verbindung der allgemeinen
Formel RnAlX3-n, worin R eine Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe, wie
eine Alkyl-, Alkenyl-, Aryl- oder Aralkylgruppe mit 1 bis 18
Kohlenstoffatomen und vorzugsweise mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoff
atomen bedeutet, X ein Wasserstoffatom oder ein Halogenatom
bedeutet und n eine ganze Zahl entsprechend der Bedingung 1n3
ist. Vorzugsweise wird ein Trialkylaluminium verwendet.
Bei der Alkylgruppe im Trialkylaluminium kann es sich um Me
thyl, Ethyl, Propyl, Isopropyl, Butyl, Isobutyl, Pentyl,
Hexyl, Octyl, Decyl und Dodecyl handeln, wobei Methyl beson
ders bevorzugt wird. Das Umsetzungsverhältnis (Wasser/Al-Mol
verhältnis) von Wasser zur Organoaluminiumverbindung liegt
vorzugsweise im Bereich von 0,25/1 bis 1,2/1 und insbesondere
von 0,5/1 bis 1/1. Die Reaktionstemperatur liegt üblicher
weise im Bereich von -70 bis 100°C und vorzugsweise von -20
bis 20°C. Eine geeignete Reaktionszeit wird üblicherweise im
Bereich von 5 Minuten bis 24 Stunden und vorzugsweise von 10
Minuten bis 5 Stunden gewählt. Als für die Umsetzung erfor
derliches Wasser kann nicht nur Wasser an sich, sondern auch
das in Kupfersulfat-hydraten, Aluminiumsulfat-hydrat und
dergl. enthaltene Kristallisationswasser herangezogen werden.
Die erfindungsgemäße Katalysatorkomponente für die Olefinpo
lymerisation wird erhalten, indem man die wesentlichen Be
standteile untereinander in Kontakt bringt. Bei diesen Be
standteilen handelt es sich, wie vorstehend erwähnt, um (1)
eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel RpMX4-p [Bestandteile
(1)] und (2) eine Verbindung mit einer Kohlenstoff-Fluor-Bin
dung [Bestandteil (2)). Ferner wird das durch diesen Kontakt
erhaltene Reaktionsprodukt mit (3) einer modifizierten Orga
noaluminiumverbindung [Bestandteil (3)], die durch Umsetzung
von einer Organoaluminiumverbindung und Wasser erhalten wor
den ist und eine Al-O-Al-Bindung enthält, in Kontakt ge
bracht. In bezug auf die Reihenfolge der Kontaktierung der
einzelnen Bestandteile gibt es keine speziellen Beschränkun
gen. Beispielsweise kann ein Verfahren angewandt werden, bei
dem die Katalysatorbestandteile außerhalb des Polymerisati
onssystems gemäß einem der folgenden Verfahrensweisen in Kon
takt gebracht werden und der erhaltene Katalysator sodann dem
Polymerisationssystem zugeführt wird:
- A. Gleichzeitige Zugabe von (1), (2) und (3).
- B. Kontaktieren von (1) und (2) unter Bildung des Bestand teils (4) und anschließende Zugabe von (3).
- C. Kontaktieren von (1) und (3) unter Bildung des Bestand teils (5) und anschließende Zugabe von (2).
- D. Kontaktieren von (2) und (3) unter Bildung des Bestand teils (6) und anschließende Zugabe von (1).

Eine andere Möglichkeit besteht darin, die Bestandteile (4),
(5) und (6) außerhalb des Polymerisationssystems herzustellen
und sodann dem Polymerisationssystem gemäß einer der folgen
den Reihenfolgen zuzusetzen:

Eine andere Möglichkeit besteht in der Anwendung einer Me
thode, bei dem die Bestandteile (1), (2) und (3) unter Bil
dung des Bestandteils (7) gemäß einem der vorstehenden Metho
den A bis S in Kontakt gebracht werden, wonach sich die
Zugabe zum Polymerisationssystem gemäß einer der folgenden
Reihenfolgen anschließt:

Insbesondere wird die Vorgehensweise bevorzugt, bei der
zunächst die Bestandteile (1) und (3) in Kontakt gebracht
werden wonach sich der Kontakt mit dem Bestandteil (2) an
schließt.
Hinsichtlich der Art und Weise, wie die drei Bestandteile
miteinander in Kontakt gebracht werden, können ebenfalls be
liebige Methoden angewandt werden. Gemäß einer üblicherweise
angewandten Methode werden die Bestandteile (1), (2) und (3)
in einer inerten Atmosphäre, beispielsweise einer Stickstoff-
oder Argonatmosphäre, in Gegenwart eines inerten Kohlenwas
serstofflösungsmittels, wie Heptan, Hexan, Benzol, Toluol
oder Xylol, bei einer Temperatur im Bereich von -100 bis
200°C und vorzugsweise von -50 bis 100°C für eine Zeitspanne
von 30 Minuten bis 50 Stunden und vorzugsweise von 2 bis 24
Stunden miteinander in Kontakt gebracht. Für den Fall, daß
die Bestandteile in einem inerten Kohlenwasserstofflösungs
mittel miteinander in Kontakt gebracht werden, kann der ge
bildete Katalysator direkt nach Beendigung sämtlicher Kontak
tierungsreaktionen im Lösungszustand für die Polymerisation
herangezogen werden. Eine andere Möglichkeit besteht darin,
den Katalysator ggf. durch Ausfällen, Trocknen oder andere
geeignete Maßnahmen als festen Katalysator zu entnehmen und
anschließend für die Polymerisation einzusetzen. Selbstver
ständlich können die einzelnen Kontaktierungsreaktionen mehr
fach durchgeführt werden.
Was die Anteile der drei Bestandteile betrifft, ist es bevor
zugt, daß pro 1 Mol des Bestandteils (1) der Anteil des Be
standteils (2) im Bereich von 0,01 bis 100 Mol, insbesondere
von 0,1 bis 10 Mol und ganz besonders von 0,5 bis 2 Mol liegt
und der Anteil von (3) bei 1 bis 1000 Mol, vorzugsweise 1 bis
100 Mol und insbesondere 1 bis 50 Mol liegt.
Erfindungsgemäß werden Olefine in Gegenwart eines Katalysa
tors, der die auf diese Weise hergestellte Katalysatorkompo
nente und die vorstehend beschriebene modifizierte Organoalu
miniumverbindung enthält, homopolymerisiert oder copolymeri
siert. Dabei können einer dieser Bestandteile oder beide Be
standteile auf einen anorganischen Träger, wie Magnesiumver
bindungen, Aluminiumoxid, Siliciumdioxid und Siliciumdioxid-
Aluminiumoxid, und/oder einem teilchenförmigen polymeren Trä
ger aufgebracht sein. In sämtlichen Fällen werden geeignete
Anteile der Katalysatorkomponente und der modifizierten Orga
noaluminiumverbindung so gewählt, daß das Atomverhältnis des
in der modifizierten Organoaluminiumverbindung enthaltenen
Aluminiums zum Übergangsmetall in der Katalysatorkomponente
im Bereich von 1 bis 100 000 und vorzugsweise von 5 bis 1000
liegt.
Beispiele für Olefine sind α-Olefine, cyclische Olefine,
Diene, Triene und Styrolanaloge, Beispiele für α-Olefine sind
solche mit 2 bis 12 und insbesondere mit 2 bis 8 Kohlen
stoffatomen. Konkrete Beispiele hierfür sind Ethylen, Propy
len, Buten-1, Hexen-1 und 4-Methylpenten-1. Ein α-Olefin kann
unter Verwendung der erfindungsgemäßen Katalysatorkomponente
homopolymerisiert werden. Es ist auch möglich, zwei oder mehr
Arten von α-Olefinen unter Verwendung einer derartigen Kata
lysatorkomponente zu copolymerisieren. Bei der Copolymerisa
tion kann es sich um eine alternierende Copolymerisation,
eine statistische Copolymerisation oder eine Blockcopolymeri
sation handeln.
Unter die Copolymerisation von α-Olefinen fällt auch die Mög
lichkeit, bei der Ethylen und ein α-Olefin mit 3 bis 12 und
vorzugsweise mit 3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen copolymerisiert
werden, z. B. Ethylen/Propylen, Ethylen/Buten-1, Ethy
len/Hexen-1 und Ethylen/4-Methylpenten-1, sowie die Möglich
keit, bei der Propylen und ein α-Olefin mit 3 bis 12 und vor
zugsweise mit 3 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen copolymerisiert wer
den, z. B. Propylen/Buten-1, Propylen/4-Methylpenten-1, Pro
pylen/4-Methylbuten-1, Propylen/Hexen-1 und Propylen/Octen-1.
Bei der Copolymerisation von Ethylen oder Propylen mit einem
weiteren α-Olefin kann die Menge eines derartigen α-Olefins
wahlfrei unter der Bedingung gewählt werden, daß diese Menge
90 Mol-% der gesamten Monomermenge nicht übersteigt. Im all
gemeinen ist jedoch im Fall eines Ethylencopolymeren die
Menge eines derartigen weiteren α-Olefins nicht größer als 40
Mol-%, vorzugsweise nicht größer als 30 Mol-% und insbeson
dere nicht größer als 20 Mol-%, während bei einem Propylenco
polymeren die Menge eines derartigen weiteren α-Olefins im
Bereich von 1-90 Mol-%, vorzugsweise 5-90 Mol-% und insbeson
dere 10-70 Mol-% gewählt wird.
Beispiele für erfindungsgemäß verwendbare cyclische Olefine
sind solche mit 3 bis 24 und vorzugsweise mit 3 bis 18 Koh
lenstoffatomen, wie Cyclopenten, Cyclobuten, Cyclohexen, 3-
Methylcyclohexen, Cycloocten, Cyclodecen, Tetracyclodecen,
Octacyclodecen, Dicyclopentadien, Norbornen, 5-Methyl-2-nor
bornen, 5-Ethyl-2-norbornen, 5-Isobutyl-2-norbornen, 5,6-Di
methyl-2-norbornen, 5,5,6-Trimethyl-2-norbornen und Ethyli
dennorbornen. Üblicherweise wird ein cyclisches Olefin mit
dem vorerwähnten α-Olefin copolymerisiert. In diesem Fall ist
die Menge des cyclischen Olefins nicht größer als 50 Mol-%
und liegt üblicherweise im Bereich von 1 bis 50 Mol-% und
vorzugsweise von 2 bis 50 Mol-%, bezogen auf das Copolymere.
Bei den erfindungsgemäß verwendbaren Dienen und Trienen han
delt es sich um kettenartige Polyene der folgenden Formel:
CH₂CH (CH)n(CHCH₂)m
worin m den Wert 1 oder 2 hat und n den Wert 0 bis 20 und
vorzugsweise 2 bis 20 hat. Beispiele hierfür sind Butadien,
1,4-Hexadien, 1,5-Hexadien, 1,9-Decadien, 1,13-Tetradecadien,
2,6-Dimethyl-1,5-heptadien, 2-Methyl-2,7-octadien, 2,7-Dime
thyl-2,6-octadien und 1,5,9-Decatrien. Sofern erfindungsgemäß
ein kettenartiges Dien oder Trien verwendet wird, wird es üb
licherweise mit dem vorerwähnten α-Olefin copolymerisiert.
Der Anteil des kettenartigen Diens und/oder Triens im Copoly
meren liegt üblicherweise im Bereich von 0,1 bis 50 Mol-% und
vorzugsweise von 0,2 bis 10 Mol-%.
Bei den erfindungsgemäß verwendbaren Styrolanalogen handelt
es sich um Styrol und Styrolderivate. Beispiele für derartige
Derivate sind tert.-Butylstyrol, α-Methylstyrol, p-Methylsty
rol, Divinylbenzol, 1,1-Diphenylethylen, N,N-Dimethyl-p-ami
noethylstyrol und N,N-Diethyl-p-aminoethylstyrol.
Die erfindungsgemäße Katalysatorkomponente eignet sich auch
zur Verwendung bei der weiteren Polymerisation eines Homopo
lymeren oder eines Copolymeren von Olefinen mit einem polaren
Monomeren zum Zweck der Modifikation des Homopolymeren oder
Copolymeren. Beispiele für derartige polare Monomere sind un
gesättigte Carbonsäureester, wie Methylacrylat, Methylme
thacrylat, Butylmethacrylat, Dimethylmaleat, Diethylmaleat,
Monomethylmaleat, Diethylfumarat und Dimethylitaconat. Der
Anteil des polaren Monomeren im auf diese Weise modifizierten
Copolymeren liegt üblicherweise im Bereich von 0,1 bis 10
Mol-% und vorzugsweise von 0,2 bis 2 Mol-%.
Die Polymerisationsreaktion kann als Aufschlämmungspolymeri
sation, Lösungspolymerisation oder Dampfphasenpolymerisation
in Gegenwart der vorstehend beschriebenen Katalysatorkompo
nente und Promotorkomponente durchgeführt werden. Insbeson
dere werden eine Aufschlämmungspolymerisation oder eine
Dampfphasenpolymerisation bevorzugt. Das oder die Olefine
werden in einem im wesentlichen sauerstoff- und wasserfreien
Zustand und in Gegenwart oder Abwesenheit eines inerten Koh
lenwasserstofflösungsmittels, das unter aliphatischen Kohlen
wasserstoffen, wie Hexan und Heptan, aromatischen Kohlenwas
serstoffen, wie Benzol, Toluol und Xylol, und alicyclischen
Kohlenwasserstoffen, wie Cyclohexan und Methylcyclohexan,
ausgewählt wird, polymerisiert. Was die Polymerisationsbedin
gungen betrifft, so wird bei einer Temperatur im Bereich von
20 bis 200°C und vorzugsweise von 50 bis 100°C, einem Druck
im Bereich von Atmosphärendruck bis zu einem Überdruck von 70
kg/cm² und vorzugsweise von Atmosphärendruck bis zu einem
Überdruck von 20 kg/cm² und mit einer Polymerisationszeit im
Bereich von 5 Minuten bis 10 Stunden und vorzugsweise von 5
Minuten bis 5 Stunden gearbeitet.
Das Molekulargewicht des zu bildenden Polymeren kann in ge
wissem Umfang durch Veränderung der Polymerisationsbedingun
gen, beispielsweise der Polymerisationstemperatur und des Ka
talysator-Molverhältnisses eingestellt werden, jedoch ist die
Zugabe von Wasserstoff zum Polymerisationsreaktionssystem für
diesen Zweck wirkungsvoller.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren eignet sich auch zur mehrstu
figen Polymerisation unter Durchführung von zwei oder mehr
Stufen, die unterschiedliche Polymerisationsbedingungen, bei
spielsweise unterschiedliche Wasserstoffkonzentrationen, un
terschiedliche Monomermengen und unterschiedliche Polymerisa
tionstemperaturen und -drücke, beinhalten.
Die folgenden Beispiele dienen zur weiteren Erläuterung der
Erfindung, sollen aber keine Beschränkung der Erfindung bein
halten.
Folgende Methoden wurden zur Bestimmung der physikalischen
Eigenschaften der in den Ausführungsbeispielen und Ver
gleichsbeispielen erhaltenen Polymeren herangezogen.
Bestimmt bei 190°C unter einer Belastung von 2,16 kg gemäß
ASTM D 1238-57T.
Bestimmt gemäß ASTM D 1505-68.
Bestimmung des Schmelzpunkts unter Verwendung eines Differen
tialabtastkalorimeters (DSC). In einer Schmelzpunkt-Meßvor
richtung Modell DSC-20 (Produkt der Firma Seiko Denshi K. K.)
wurde eine Polymerprobe (5 mg) 3 Minuten auf 180°C gehalten
und sodann mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 10°C/min auf 0°C ab
gekühlt. Nach 10-minütigem Belassen der Probe bei 0°C wurde
die Temperatur mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 10°C/min angeho
ben, um den Schmelzpunkt zu bestimmen.
Die Bestimmung erfolgte unter Verwendung einer Typ 150C GPC-
Vorrichtung (Produkt der Firma Waters Co.), einer GMH-6-Säule
(Produkt der Firma Toyo Soda Manufacturing Co.), mit o-Di
chlorbenzol als Lösungsmittel bei einer Temperatur von 135°C
und einer Strömungsgeschwindigkeit von 1,0 ml/min.
Die modifizierte Organoaluminiumverbindung (Methylaluminoxan:
MAO), die in den nachstehenden Ausführungsbeispielen und Ver
gleichsbeispielen verwendet wurde, wurde auffolgende Weise
hergestellt.
13 g Kupfersulfat-pentahydrat wurden in einem Dreihalskolben
mit einem Innenvolumen von 300 ml, der mit einem elektroma
gnetischen Induktionsrührer ausgerüstet war, vorgelegt und in
50 ml Toluol suspendiert. Sodann wurden 150 ml einer Lösung
mit einem Gehalt an 1 mMol/ml Trimethylaluminium tropfenweise
innerhalb von 2 Stunden bei 0°C zu der erhaltenen Suspension
gegeben. Anschließend wurde die Temperatur auf 25°C angeho
ben. Die Reaktion wurde 24 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur
durchgeführt. Sodann wurde die Reaktionslösung zur Entfernung
von Toluol aus der Lösung, die das Reaktionsprodukt enthielt,
abfiltriert. Man erhielt 4 g Methylaluminoxan in Form von
weißen Kristallen.
Eine Lösung von Methylaluminoxan in Toluol (0,5 mMol/ml)
wurde zu 2,2×10-5 Mol Biscyclopentadienylzirconiumdichlorid
in Toluollösung (Al/Zr = 50) gegeben. Nach Rühren bei Raum
temperatur wurde die erhaltene Lösung mit 2,2×10-5 Mol He
xafluorbenzol in Toluol versetzt. Sodann wurde bei Raumtempe
ratur gerührt. Man erhielt eine Katalysatorlösung mit einer
Zr-Konzentration von 4,4×10³ mMol/ml.
200 g gewaschener und wärmebehandelter Meersand wurden in
einem 2 Liter fassenden Autoklaven vorgelegt und gründlich
getrocknet. Sodann wurden 5 ml der auf die vorstehende Weise
hergestellten Katalysatorlösung in den Autoklaven gegeben, in
den dann ein gasförmiges Gemisch aus Ethylen und 1-Buten
[Buten/Ethylen = 0,2 (Molverhältnis)] bis zu einem Überdruck
von 9 kg/cm² eingeleitet wurde. Die Polymerisation wurde 2
Stunden bei 60°C unter Aufrechterhaltung des genannten Drucks
durchgeführt. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 62 kg/g·Zr.
Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9352 g/cm³, einen Schmelz
index von 1,0 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 108,9°C und
einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 16,3 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch Trifluorethyltri
tylether ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 64
kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,226 g/cm³, einen
Schmelzindex von 1,1 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 106,2°C
und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 13,3 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch Trifluorethyltriphenyl
silylether ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 63
kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9300 g/cm³, einen
Schmelzindex von 1,0 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 107,2°C
und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 15,0 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch Chlorpentafluorbenzol
ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 55 kg/g·Zr.
Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9215 g/cm³, einen Schmelz
index von 0,92 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 105,5°C und
einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 12,9 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch 3-Perfluorhexyl-1,2-ep
oxypropan ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 57
kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9222 g/cm³, einen
Schmelzindex von 1,4 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 106,2°C
und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 15,5 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch Perfluormethylcyclo
hexan ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 55
kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9340 g/cm³, einen
Schmelzindex von 1,0 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 107,9°C
und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 13,7 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch Perfluorheptan ersetzt
wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 55 kg/g·Zr. Das Pro
dukt wies eine Dichte von 0,9345 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex
von 1,0 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 108,0°C und einen
Mw/Mn-Wert von 16,5 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch Trifluormethyltrieth
oxymethan ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 58
kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9236 g/cm³, einen
Schmelzindex von 1,4 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 107,0°C
und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 13,4 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch 2,2-Bismethoxyhe
xafluorpropan ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug
58 kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9216 g/cm³,
einen Schmelzindex von 0,90 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von
105,8°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 12,4 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch Bis-(trifluorethoxy)-
propan ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 80
kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9342 g/cm³, einen
Schmelzindex von 1,7 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 107,8°C
und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 13,7 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol durch Tris-(trifluorethoxy)-
ethan ersetzt wurde. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 75
kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9347 g/cm³, einen
Schmelzindex von 1,4 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 108,1°C
und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 16,5 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß 2,2×10-5 Mol Biscyclopentadienylzirconiumdime
thyl in Toluollösung anstelle der Lösung von Biscyclopentadi
enylzirconiumdichlorid in Toluol verwendet wurden. Die kata
lytische Leistung betrug 60 kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine
Dichte von 0,9348 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 1,0 g/10 min,
einen Schmelzpunkt von 108,9°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 16,3
auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß 2,2×10-5 Mol Ethylenbisindenylzirconiumdichlo
rid in Toluollösung anstelle der Lösung von Biscyclopenta
dienylzirconiumdichlorid in Toluol verwendet wurden. Die ka
talytische Leistung betrug 70 kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine
Dichte von 0,9200 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 0,45 g/10
min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 105,1°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von
14,3 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß 2,2×10-5 Mol Biscyclopentadienyldimethoxyzirco
nium in Toluollösung anstelle der Lösung von Biscyclopentadi
enylzirconiumdichlorid in Toluol verwendet wurden. Die kata
lytische Leistung betrug 55 kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine
Dichte von 0,9248 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 1,7 g/10 min,
einen Schmelzpunkt von 106,0°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 11,2
auf.
Eine Lösung von Methylaluminoxan in Toluol (0,5 mMol/ml)
wurde zu 2,2×10-5 Mol Biscyclopentadienyltitandichlorid in
Toluollösung (Al/Ti = 500) gegeben. Sodann wurde bei Raumtem
peratur gerührt. Die erhaltene Lösung wurde mit 2,2×10-5
Mol Chlorpentafluorbenzol in Toluol versetzt und bei Raumtem
peratur berührt. Man erhielt eine Katalysatorlösung mit einer
Ti-Konzentration von 8,8×10-4 mMol/ml. 200 g gewaschener
und wärmebehandelter Meersand wurden in einem 2 Liter fassen
den Autoklaven vorgelegt und gründlich getrocknet. Sodann
wurden 25 ml der auf die vorstehende Weise hergestellten Ka
talysatorlösung in den Autoklaven gegeben, in den dann ein
Gasgemisch aus Ethylen und 1-Buten bis zu einem Überdruck von
9 kg/cm² eingeleitet wurde. Unter Aufrechterhaltung dieses
Drucks wurde die Polymerisation 2 Stunden bei 60°C durchge
führt. Die katalytische Leistung betrug 15 kg/g·Ti. Das Pro
dukt wies eine Dichte von 0,9225 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex
von 2,5 g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 107,2°C und einen
Mw/Mn-Wert von 15,0 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 13 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß 2,2×10-5 Mol Biscyclopentadienylhafniumdichlo
rid und Methylaluminoxan anstelle des Biscyclopentadienylti
tandichlorids verwendet wurden. Die katalytische Leistung be
trug 8 kg/g·Hf. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9325
g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 7,0 g/10 min, einen Schmelz
punkt von 108,3°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 16,3 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß Pentafluorbenzyltritylether anstelle des He
xafluorbenzols verwendet wurden. Die katalytische Leistung
betrug 90 kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies eine Dichte von 0,9200
g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 0,92 g/10 min, einen Schmelz
punkt von 106,5°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 12,9 auf.
Eine Lösung von Methylaluminoxan in Toluol (0,5 mMol/ml)
wurde zu 2,2×10-5 Mol Cyclopentadienyltitantrichlorid in
Toluol (Al/Ti = 500) gegeben. Sodann wurde bei Raumtemperatur
gerührt. Die erhaltene Lösung wurde mit 2,2×10-5 Mol He
xafluorbenzol in Toluol versetzt und bei Raumtemperatur ge
rührt. Man erhielt eine Katalysatorlösung mit einer Ti-Kon
zentration von 8,8×10-4 mMol/ml. 200 g gewaschener und wär
mebehandelter Meersand wurden in einem 2 Liter fassenden Au
toklaven vorgelegt und gründlich getrocknet. Sodann wurden 25
ml der auf die vorstehende Weise hergestellten Katalysatorlö
sung in den Autoklaven gegeben, in den dann ein Gasgemisch
aus Ethylen und 1-Buten bis zu einem Überdruck von 9 kg/cm²
eingeleitet wurde. Unter Aufrechterhaltung dieses Drucks
wurde die Polymerisation 2 Stunden bei 60°C durchgeführt. Die
katalytische Leistung betrug 10 kg/g·Ti. Das Produkt wies
eine Dichte von 0,9610 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 0,30
g/10 min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 129,3°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert
von 15,0 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol nicht verwendet wurde. Die
katalytische Leistung betrug 40 kg/g·Zr. Das Produkt wies
eine Dichte von 0,9198 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 23 g/10
min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 106,7°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von
2,0 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 13 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Chlorpentafluorbenzol nicht verwendet wurde.
Die katalytische Leistung betrug 10 kg/g·Ti. Das Produkt wies
eine Dichte von 0,9200 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 4,5 g/10
min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 107,0°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von
3,7 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 14 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß Chlorpentafluorbenzol nicht verwendet wurde. Die
katalytische Leistung betrug 5 kg/g·Hf. Das Produkt wies eine
Dichte von 0,9180 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 0,51 g/10
min, einen Schmelzpunkt von 108,1°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von
3,5 auf.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 1 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Methylaluminoxan nicht verwendet wurde. Es
erfolgte keine Polymerisation.
Das Verfahren von Beispiel 16 wurde wiederholt, mit der Abän
derung, daß das Hexafluorbenzol nicht verwendet wurde. Die
katalytische Leistung betrug 5 kg/g·Ti. Das Produkt wies eine
Dichte von 0,9600 g/cm³, einen Schmelzindex von 1,5 g/10 min,
einen Schmelzpunkt von 129,0°C und einen Mw/Mn-Wert von 7,0
auf.
Claims (9)
1. Katalysatorkomponente für die Polymerisation von Olefi
nen, enthaltend:
- (1) eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel RpMX4-p, worin M ein Übergangsmetall der Gruppe IVa des Periodensystems bedeu tet, R eine Cyclopentadienyl-, substituierte Cyclopenta dienyl-, Indenyl-, substituierte Indenyl- oder Aralkylgruppe mit 7 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet, mit der Maßgabe, daß die Reste R über eine C₂-C₈-Alkylengruppe und/oder eine Silylengruppe miteinander verbunden sein können, X ein Halogenatom, ein Wasserstoffatom oder einen Kohlenwas serstoffrest mit 1 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet und p eine Zahl ist, die die Bedingung 1p4 erfüllt; und
- (2) eine Verbindung mit einer Kohlenstoff-Fluor-Bindung.
2. Katalysatorkomponente nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekenn
zeichnet, daß es sich beim Übergangsmetall um Titan, Zirco
nium oder Hafnium handelt.
3. Katalysatorkomponente nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekenn
zeichnet, daß es sich bei der Verbindung mit der Kohlenstoff-
Fluor-Bindung um eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel R²-
R² q oder R²(A-R³)q handelt, worin q die Bedingung 1q4
erfüllt, A eine unter -O-, -OSiR⁴₂-, -C(OR⁵)₂- und -C(OR⁵)₂O-
ausgewählte Gruppe bedeutet, R² eine fluoratomhaltige C₁-C₃₀-
Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe bedeutet, R³ und R⁴ jeweils ein Was
serstoffatom oder eine C₁-C₃₀-Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe bedeu
ten und R⁵ eine C₁-C₃₀-Kohlenwasserstoffgruppe bedeutet.
4. Katalysator für die Polymerisation von Olefinen, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß er die Katalysatorkomponente nach einem
der Ansprüche 1 bis 3 und eine modifizierte Organoaluminium
verbindung, die durch Umsetzung einer Organoaluminiumverbin
dung mit Wasser hergestellt worden ist, enthält, wobei die
modifizierte Organoaluminiumverbindung eine Al-O-Al-Bindung
aufweist.
5. Katalysator für die Polymerisation von Olefinen nach An
spruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die modifizierte Or
ganoaluminiumverbindung 1 bis 100 Al-O-Al-Bindungen im Mole
kül enthält.
6. Katalysator für die Polymerisation von Olefinen nach An
spruch 4 oder 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Umsetzungs
verhältnis von Wasser zur Organoaluminiumverbindung, angege
ben als Wasser/Al-Molverhältnis, 0,25/1 bis 1,2/1 beträgt.
7. Katalysator für die Polymerisation von Olefinen nach ei
nem der Ansprüche 4 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die
Organoaluminiumverbindung durch die allgemeine Formel
RnAlX3-n wiedergegeben wird, wobei R eine C₁-C₁₈-Kohlenwas
serstoffgruppe bedeutet, X ein Wasserstoffatom oder ein
Halogenatom bedeutet und n die Bedingung 1n3 erfüllt.
8. Katalysator für die Polymerisation von Olefinen nach An
spruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es sich bei der Organo
aluminiumverbindung um ein Trialkylaluminiumverbindung han
delt.
9. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Olefinhomo- oder -copo
lymeren, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man mindestens ein Ole
fin in Gegenwart des Katalysators nach einem der Ansprüche 4
bis 8 polymerisiert.
