Description
- Diese Erfindung betrifft neue Schmieröladditive und diese enthaltende Schmierölzusammensetzungen, die die wünschenswerten Eigenschaften besitzen, daß sie multifunktinale Dispersionsmittel und Viskositätsindexverbesserer für sowohl Benzin- als auch für Dieselmotorformulierungen sind. Genauer betrifft die Erfindung Aminderivate von öllöslichen kohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Bernsteinsäureanhydriden, die durch eine aus einer Umsetzung mit bestimmten vorgeformten cyclischen Aminoverbindungen resultierende makrocyclische Aminstruktur charakterisiert sind.
- Schmieröladditive, insbesondere Dispersionsmittel, die durch Umsetzung von kohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Bernsteinsäureanhydriden mit Polyaminen hergestellt werden, um lineare Mono- oder Bisimide zu ergeben, sind in der Technik wohlbekannt, und repräsentative Offenbarungen schließen US-A-3 172 892 und USA- 3 272 746 ein. Patente, die eine cyclische Struktur für das Dispersionsmitteladditiv offenbaren, schließen US-A-4 102 798 und US-A-4 239 636 ein, das ein einen makrocyclischen Lactonester enthaltendes Produkt offenbart.
- Dispersionsmittel-Viskositätsindex(VI)verbesserungsmittel, die aus dem Pfropfen von Maleinsäureanhydrid auf ein Ethylen/- Propylen-Copolymer und nachfolgender Umsetzung mit Polyaminen resultieren, sind ebenfalls bekannt und werden zum Beispiel in US-A-4 089 794 und US-A-4 144 181 offenbart. Die vorliegende Erfindung wird durch Bildung der charakteristischen makrocyclischen Polyaminstruktur als von den vorhergehenden Patenten abgegrenzt angesehen.
- US-A-4 160 739 lehrt, daß bei der Reaktion zwischen Polyaminen und gepfropften Maleinsäureanhydridpolymeren nur eine reaktive Aminogruppe in dem Polyamin vorhanden sein muß, um störende Reaktionen zu eliminieren. US-A-4 137 185 lehrt, daß bei der Reaktion zwischen denselben Substanzen Alkylenpolyamine mit zwei primären Aminogruppen lineare Amido-Imide ergeben, die schädliche Viskositätserhöhungen verursachen können, und daß daher zur Verhinderung von Kettenverlängerung die Acylierung der NH&sub2;-Gruppen in den Amino-Imidprodukten mit Anhydriden erforderlich ist.
- Ein Aspekt der vorliegenden Erfindung basiert auf der Entdeckung, daß bestimmte makrocyclische Polyaminverbindungen signifikante Eigenschaften als multifunktionale Dispersionsmittel- Viskositätsindexverbesserungsmittel besitzen, insbesondere die Fähigkeit, sowohl in Benzinmotorschmierölformulierungen als auch in den entsprechenden Dieselmotorschmierölformulierungen ein sehr effektives Dispersionsmittel zu sein, und es daher den diese neuartigen Additive enthaltenden Schmierölen ermöglicht, die höchsten Qualifikationsstandards für solche Öle zu bestehen oder zu übertreffen.
- US-A-3 977 981 offenbart bestimmte makrocyclische Tetraminverbindungen zur Verwendung in Zusammensetzungen zur Beschichtung von Metalloberflächen wie z. B. Ölquellenrohrleitungen zur Korrosionshemmung, aber dies ist für die Schmieröl- oder Brennstoffadditivtechnologie nicht relevant.
- Die vorliegende Erfindung liefert die Verwendung einer öllöslichen makrocyclischen Polyaminverbindung als Additiv für Schmieröl und für Brennstoffe, wobei die Polyaminverbindung das Reaktionsprodukt eines Kohlenwasserstoffbernsteinsäureanhydrids oder einer -carbonsäure mit 8 bis 15 000 Kohlenstoffatomen und einer makrocyclischen Azaverbindung mit mindestens zwei NH-Gruppen und der Formel
- ist, in der U, V und W NH, S oder O sein können, n und m ganze Zahlen von 1 bis 4 sind und Alkylen C&sub2; bis C&sub4; ist.
- Die Erfindung liefert außerdem Schmierölzusammensetzungen und Brennstoffzusammensetzungen, die öllösliche makrocyclische Polyaminverbindungen wie oben definiert umfassen.
- Die Erfindung liefert weiterhin eine öllösliche makrocyclische Polyaminverbindung, die das Reaktionsprodukt eines Kohlenwasserstoffbernsteinsäureanhydrids oder einer -carbonsäure mit 8 bis 15 000 Kohlenstoffatomen und einer makrocyclischen Azaverbindung mit mindestens zwei NH-Gruppen und der Formel
- ist, in der U, V und W NH, S oder O sein können, n und m ganze Zahlen von 1 bis 4 sind und Alkylen C&sub2; bis C&sub4; ist, mit der Maßgabe, daß mindestens einer aus U, V und W von NH verschieden ist.
- Die Erfindung liefert zusätzlich eine öllösliche makrocyclische Polyaminverbindung, die das Reaktionsprodukt eines Kohlenwasserstoffbernsteinsäureanhydrids oder einer -carbonsäure mit 50 bis 15 000 Kohlenstoffatomen und einer makrocyclischen Azaverbindung mit mindestens zwei NH-Gruppen und der Formel
- ist, in der U, V und W NH, S oder o sein können, n und m ganze Zahlen von 1 bis 4 sind und Alkylen C&sub2; bis C&sub4; ist.
- Die polycyclischen Polyaminadditive können erfindungsgemäß durch Kondensation von Kohlenwasserstoffbernsteinsäureanhydriden mit polycyclischen Polyaminen (Aza-Kronenverbindungen) in einer Acylierungsreaktion hergestellt werden.
- Die für die erfindungsgemäße Umsetzung mit den vorgebildeten cyclischen Aminen geeigneten kohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Bernsteinsäureanhydride sind im allgemeinen von öllöslichen Kohlenwasserstoffen abgeleitet, die nicht verzweigte gesättigte oder ungesattigte Kohlenwasserstoffketten mit mindestens 8, vorzugsweise mindestens 50 Kohlenstoffatomen einschließlich sowohl polymerer als auch oligomerer und nicht polymerer aliphatischer Ketten umfassen, insbesondere Polymere von C&sub2;- bis C&sub5;-Olefinen.
- Zur erfindungsgemäßen Verwendung besonders bevorzugt ist thermisches Polyisobutenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid mit einem Mn von etwa 900 bis 2 000, das in einer "En"-Reaktion durch gemeinsames Erhitzen von Polyisobutylen mit Maleinsäureanhydrid auf etwa 200ºC hergestellt wurde. Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituenten mit etwa 8 bis 50 Kohlenstoffatomen sind, obwohl sie brauchbare öllösliche Produkte bilden, als Dispersionsmittel-Viskositätsindexverbesserungsmittel weniger bevorzugt. Es wurde allerdings gefunden, daß sie wünschenswerte Eigenschaften als Antioxidantien in öligen Zusammensetzungen zeigen, wie z. B. die von Octadecenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid abgeleiteten erfindungsgemäßen Produkte.
- Geeignete Olefinpolymere schließen Polymere ein, die eine größere molare Menge von C&sub2;- bis C&sub5;-Monoolefinen umfassen, z. B. Ethylen, Propylen, Butylen, Isobutylen und Penten. Die Polymere können Homopolymere wie Polyisobutylen sowie Copolymere von Ethylen und Propylen, Butylen und Isobutylen, Propylen und Isobutylen und dergleichen sein. Weitere Copolymere schließen solche ein, in denen eine geringe molare Menge der Copolymermonomere, z. B. 1 bis 20 Mol.%, ein nicht konjugiertes C&sub4;- bis C&sub1;&sub8;-Diolefin ist, z. B. ein Copolymer von Ethylen, Propylen und 1,4- Hexadien, d. h. die EPDM-Polymere.
- Die Olefinpolymere besitzen üblicherweise durchschnittliche Molekulargewichte (Zahlenmittel) innerhalb des Bereichs von etwa 500 bis etwa 200 000, üblicher bis etwa 60 000. Besonders brauchbare Olefinpolymere für Dispersionsmitteladditive haben durchschnittliche Molekulargewichte (Zahlenmittel) (Mn) innerhalb des Bereichs von etwa 900 bis etwa 2 000 mit annähernd einer terminalen Bindung pro Polymerkette. Ein besonders brauchbares erfindungsgemäßes Material ist Polyisobutylen. Polybuten-1 und Polypropylen sind ebenfalls bevorzugte Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituenten zur Herstellung von Dispersionsmitteln.
- Besonders brauchbare Materialien, wenn Dispersionsmittel- Viskositätsindexverbesserungsadditive gewünscht werden, leiten sich von Ethylen/Propylen-Copolymeren, -Terpolymeren und -Tetrapolymeren mit einem Mn von etwa 10 000 bis 200 000 und insbesondere 25 000 bis 100 000 ab. Ein Beispiel ist ein Copolymer von etwa 30 bis 85 Mol.% Ethylen, 15 bis 70 Mol.% C&sub3; bis C&sub5; Mono-αolefin, vorzugsweise Propylen, und 0 bis 20 Mol.% eines nicht konjugierten C&sub4;- bis C&sub1;&sub4;-Diens. Bevorzugte Beispiele solcher Diene schließen solche aus US-A-3 790 480, US-A-4 089 794 und US-A-4 137 185 ein. Besonders brauchbare Diene sind 5-Ethylidennorbornen; 1,4-Hexadien; 2,5-Norbornadien und Ethylnorbornadien. Die letzteren Terpolymere sind im Handel erhältlich unter den Warenzeichen VISTALON®, ein elastomeres Terpolymer von Ethylen, Propylen und 5-Ethyliden-norbornen, vermarktet von Exxon Chemical Company, und NORDEL®, ein Terpolymer von Ethylen, Propylen und 1,4-Hexadien, vermarktet von E. I. DuPont de Nemours and Company. Der Ausdruck Copolymere, wie hier verwendet, soll Terpolymere und Tetrapolymere einschließen.
- Andere brauchbare Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituenten sind Styrol/Isopren-Copolymere, Styrol/Isobuten-Copolymere, Isobuten/- Butadien-1,3-Copolymere, Propen/Isopren-Copolymere, Isobuten/- Chloropren-Copolymere, Isobuten/(Paramethyl)styrol-Copolymere, Copolymere von Hexen-1 mit Hexadien-1,3, Copolymere von Octen-1 mit Hexen-1, Copolymere von Hepten-1 mit Penten-1, Copolymere von 3-Methylbuten-1 mit Octen-1, Copolymere von 3,3-Dimethylpenten-1 mit Hexen-1 und Terpolymere von Isobuten, Styrol und Piperylen. Spezifischere Beispiele solcher Interpolymere schließen ein: Copolymer von 95 Gew.% Isobuten mit 5 Gew.% Styrol; Terpo- Irner von 98 % Isobuten mit 1 % Piperylen und 1 % Chloropren; Terpolymer von 95% Isobuten mit 2 % Buten-1 und 3 % Hexen-1; Terpolymer von 60 % Isobuten mit 20 % Penten-1 und 20 % Octen-1; Copolymer von 80 % Hexen-1 und 20 % Hepten-1; Terpolymer von 90 % Isobuten mit 2 % Cyclohexen und 8 % Propylen.
- Verfahrensweisen zum Anheften von Bernsteinsäureanhydridgruppen an die oben beschriebenen Kohlenwasserstoffe und Polymere sind im Stand der Technik bekannt und schließen beispielsweise die direkte Umsetzung von Maleinsäureanhydrid mit dem Polyolefin ein, das vor der Umsetzung mit dem Maleinsäureanhydrid im Bereich von 2 bis 5 Gew.% halogeniert worden sein kann. Das Pfropfen von Maleinsäureanhydrid mit Ethylen/Propylen-Copoleeren und -Terpolymeren ist in US-A-4 089 794 und US-A- 4 137 185 beschrieben und stellt eine besonders bevorzugte Ausführungsform dar, da es einen Mehrstellenreaktanten liefert, der nach erfindungsgemäßer Aminolyse und Cyclodehydrierung zu einem Schmieröladditiv mit besonders wertvollen multifunktionalen Dispersionsmittel-Viskositätsindexverbesserungseigenschaften führt, und solche Produkte sind besonders wertvoll zur Verbesserung der Dispergierbarkeit von Dieselmotorölformulierungen.
- Geeignete Aza-Kronenverbindungen besitzen mindestens zwei NH-Gruppen und können durch die folgende Formel
- wiedergegeben werden, in der U, V und W NH, S und/oder O sein können, n oder m eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis etwa 4 ist und Alkylen C&sub2;- bis C&sub4; ist, üblicherweise eine Ethylen- oder Trimethylengruppe, und diese Aza-Kronenverbindungen schließen makrocyclische Polyamine (U=V=W=NH), Polyetheramine (U=W=O, V=NH, etc.) und Polythioetheramine (U=W=S; V=NH) ein.
- Beispiele innerhalb des Umfangs der vorhergehenden Formel sind makrocyclische Polyamine und deren Komplexe mit drei bis etwa acht Stickstoffatomen, wobei mindestens eines eine NH-Gruppe ist. Bevorzugt sind solche, die vier Stickstoff-Donoren in Ringen mit etwa 12 bis 16 Atomen aufweisen. Beispiele brauchbarer makrocyclischer Polyamine schließen ein: 1,4,8,11-Tetraazacyclotetradecan (Cyclam), 1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclododecan, 1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclotridecan, 1,4,8,12-Tetraazacyclopentadecan, 1,5,9,13-Tetraazacyclohexadecan und 1,4,7,10,13,16-Hexaazacyclooctadecan (Hexacyclen).
- Ebenfalls geeignet sind makrocyclische Amine mit gemischten Donoren, die Stickstoff-Sauerstoff-, Stickstoff-Schwefel- und Stickstoff-Sauerstoff-Schwefel-Donorgruppen wie unten abgebildet enthalten, die acyliert werden können, um brauchbare Schmierstoffadditive zu ergeben.
- Diese Aminoverbindungen können acyliert werden, indem mit mindestens ein halbes Moläquivalent bis zu zwei Moläquivalenten der zuvor genannten kohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Bernsteinsäureanhydride umgesetzt wird, um brauchbare Schmierstoffadditive zu ergeben.
- Weitere Ausführungsformen der Erfindung betreffen die Bildung von Metallkomplexen und anderen Nachbehandlungsderivaten, z. B. borierten Derivaten, der neuartigen, erfindungsgemaß hergestellten, makrocyclischen Additive. Geeignete Metallkomplexe können nach bekannten Verfahren der Verwendung einer reaktiven Metallionenspezies während oder nach der Umsetzung des Polyamins mit der Kohlenwasserstoffanhydridverbindung gebildet werden. Komplexbildende Metallreaktanten schließen die Nitrate, Thiocyanate, Halogenide, Carboxylate, Phosphate, Thiophosphate, Sulfate und Borate von Obergangsmetallen wie Eisen, Kobalt, Nickel, Kupfer, Chrom, Mangan, Molybdän, Wolfram, Ruthenium, Palladium, Platin, Cadmium, Blei, Silber, Quecksilber, Antimon und dergleichen ein. Zum Stand der Technik gehörende Offenbarungen dieser Komplexierungsreaktionen können in US-A-3 306 908 und dem erneut erteilten US-Patent 26 433 gefunden werden.
- Nachbehandlungszusammensetzungen schließen die Umsetzung der neuartigen erfindungsgemäßen makrocyclischen Additive mit einem oder mehreren Nachbehandlungsreagentien ein, üblicherweise ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Boroxid, Boroxidhydrat, Borhalogeniden, Borsäuren, Schwefel, Schwefelchloriden, Phosphorsulfiden und -oxiden, Carbonsäure- oder Anhydridacylierungsmitteln, Epoxiden und Episulfiden sowie Acrylnitrilen. Die Umsetzung solcher Nachbehandlungsmittel mit den neuartigen erfindungsgemäßen makrocyclischen Polyaminverbindungen wird unter Verwendung bekannter Verfahren durchgeführt. Beispielsweise wird die Borierung gemäß der Lehre von US-A-3 254 025 durchgeführt, indem die makrocyclische Polyaminverbindung mit einem Boroxid, -halogenid, -ester oder einer Borsäure behandelt wird, um etwa 0,1 bis 1 atomare Anteile Bor auf jeden atomaren Anteil Stickstoff in der Zusammensetzung zu liefern. Die Behandlung wird durch Zugabe von etwa 1 bis 3 Gew.% Borverbindung, vorzugsweise Borsäure, Erhitzen und Rühren der Reaktionsmischung für 1 bis 5 Stunden bei etwa 135ºC bis 165ºC, gefolgt von Stickstoffstrippen und Filtrieren, falls gewünscht, durchgeführt. Mineralöl oder inerte organische Lösungsmittel erleichtern das Verfahren.
- Eine besonders bevorzugte Nachbehandlungstechnik, insbesondere brauchbar zur Herstellung der Schmieröldispersionsmittel, ist die Nachbehandlung mit einem Polyisobutenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid. Bei dieser Ausführungsform wird erfindungsgemäß zuerst ein makrobicyclisches Reaktionsprodukt aus Polyisobutenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid und Poly-3-aminopropylamin hergestellt und nachfolgend mit etwa 10 bis 50 Mol.% zusätzlichem Polyisobutenyl(Mn etwa 900 bis 2 000)bernsteinsäureanhydrid bei erhöhten Temperaturen von etwa 120ºC etwa eine Stunde oder, bis die Reaktionsmischung eine vollständige Umsetzung des freien Anhydrids zeigt, behandelt. Solche Produkte sind besonders brauchbar als Dispersionsmittel für Dieselmotorschmierölzusammensetzungen.
- Die erfindungsgemäßen Produkte können in Schmierölzusammensetzungen, z. B. Benzin- oder Dieselmotorschmieröl, in Konzentrationen an aktivem Bestandteil im Bereich von etwa 0,01 bis 20 Gew.%, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht der Schmierölzusammensetzung, eingebracht werden. Solche Additive werden üblicherweise in Form von Konzentraten wie unten diskutiert angeboten.
- Die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Produkte können in eine breite Vielfalt von Schmierstoffen eingebracht werden. Sie können in Schmierölzusammensetzungen, z. B. Kraftfahrzeugmotorschmierölen, Automatikgetriebeflüssigkeit, etc., bei ausschließlicher Verwendung als Dispersionsmittel im allgemeinen in Konzentrationen an aktivem Bestandteil innerhalb des Bereichs von etwa 0,5 bis 10 Gew.%, zum Beispiel 1 bis 5 Gew.%, vorzugsweise 1,5 bis 3 Gew.% der Gesamtzusammensetzung verwendet werden. Konventionellerweise werden die Dispersionsmittel mit den Schmierölen gemischt als Konzentrate, die üblicherweise bis zu etwa 50 Gew.% der Additivverbindung in Mineralöl gelöst enthalten, vorzugsweise in einem Mineralöl mit einer ASTM D-445 Viskosität von etwa 2 bis 40 und vorzugsweise 5 bis 20 cSt (5 bis 20 mm²/s) bei 99ºC. Das Schmieröl schließt nicht nur von Erdöl abgeleitete Kohlenwasserstofföle ein, sondern außerdem synthetische Schmieröle wie z. B. Polyethylenöle; Alkylester von Dicarbonsäuren, komplexe Ester von Dicarbonsäure, Polyglykol und Alkohol; Alkylester von Carbon- oder Phosphorsäuren; Polysilikone; Fluorkohlenwasserstofföle und Mischungen aus Schmierölen und synthetischen Ölen in beliebigen Proportionen, etc. Der Ausdruck "Schmieröl" schließt in dieser Offenbarung alle zuvor genannten ein. Die brauchbaren erfindungsgemäßen Additive können zweckmäßigerweise als Konzentrat von 10 bis 80 Gew.% angeboten werden, wie etwa 49 Gew.% des Dispersionsmittels in 20 bis 90 Gew.% Mineralöl, z. B. Solvent 150 Neutralöl, mit oder ohne weiteren vorhandenen Additiven.
- Wie oben angemerkt können solche Zusammensetzungen oder Konzentrate, die die erfindungsgemäßen Dispersionsmittel enthalten, außerdem weitere bekannte Additive enthalten, wie z. B. die Zinkdialkyl(C&sub3;- bis C&sub8;)dithiophosphat-Antiverschleißinhibitoren, die üblicherweise in Mengen von 1 bis 5 Gew.% vorliegen.
- Brauchbare Detergentien schließen die normalbasischen oder überbasischen Metallsalze, z. B. Calcium, Magnesium, Barium, etc., von Erdölnaphthensäuren, Erdölsulfonsäuren, Alkylbenzolsulfonsäuren, öllöslichen Fettsäuren, Alkylsalicylsäuren, Alkylen-bisphenolen und hydrolysierten phosphosulfurierten Polyolefinen ein. Typische Mengen sind 1 bis 7 Gew.%, wobei die bevorzugten Substanzen normale und basische Calcium- und Magnesiumsulfonate, -phenolate und sulfurierte -phenolate sind.
- Oxidationsinhibitoren schließen gehinderte Phenole, z. B. 2,6-Di-tert.butyl-para-kresol, Amine, sulfurierte Phenole und Alkylphenothiazine ein, die gewöhnlich in Mengen von 0,001 bis 1 Gew.% vorliegen.
- Stockpunktsenkungsmittel sind üblicherweise in Mengen von 0,01 bis 1 Gew.% vorhanden und schließen paraffinalkylierte aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, Olefinpolymere und -copolymere, Acrylat- und Methacrylatpolymere und -copolymere ein.
- Viskositätsindexverbesserungsmittel sind Olefinpolymere und -copolymere wie Polybuten, Ethylen/Propylen-Copolymere, hydrierte Polymere und Copolymere und Terpolymere von Styrol mit Isopren und/oder Butadien, Polymere von Alkylacrylaten oder Alkylmethacrylaten, Copolymere von Alkylmethacrylaten mit N-Vinylpyrrolidon oder Dimethylaminoalkylmethacrylat, nachträglich mit einem aktiven Monomer wie z. B. Maleinsäureanhydrid gepfropfte Polymere von Ethylen/Propylen, die mit einem Alkohol oder einem Alkylenpolyamin weiter umgesetzt worden sein können, Styrol/Maleinsäureanhydrid- Polymere, die mit Alkoholen und Aminen nachbehandelt worden sind, etc. Solche Produkte werden in den erforderlichen Mengen verwendet, um den gewünschten Viskositätsgrad zu erzielen, im allgemeinen werden 1 bis 15 Gew.% verwendet.
- Eine Rosthemmungsaktivität kann von den zuvor erwähnten Metalldi(kohlenwasserstoff)dithiophosphaten und den entsprechenden Estervorstufen, phosphorsulfurierten Pinenen, sulfurierten Olefinen und Kohlenwasserstoffen, sulfurierten Fettsäureestern und sulfurierten Alkylphenolen geliefert werden. Bevorzugt sind die Zink-di(kohlenwasserstoff)dithiophosphate, die Salze der Di(kohlenwasserstoff (C&sub3;- bis C&sub8;-))ester der Dithiophosphorsäuren sind. Rostinhibitoren werden üblicherweise im Bereich von 0,01 bis 1 Gew.% verwendet.
- Kraftstoffersparnis- oder reibungsvermindernde Additive können außerdem vorhanden sein, wie z. B. dimere Säureester mit Glykolen wie in US-A-4 105 781, hervorgebracht von Shaub, wobei die Ester von dimerisierter Linolensäure und Diethylenglykol ein bevorzugtes Material waren, oder andere effektive Kraftstoffersparnis-Additive, wobei die Glycerinester der C&sub1;&sub6;- bis C&sub1;&sub8;-Fettsäuren mit Glycerinoleat besonders geeignet waren. Diese Additive liegen in Mengen vor, die in Abhängigkeit von ihrer Effektivität sehr variieren, werden aber im allgemeinen in sehr geringen Anteilen verwendet.
- Demzufolge soll der Ausdruck Schmierölzusammensetzung wie hier verwendet ein Öl mit Schmierölviskosität einschließen, das zusätzlich zu den erfindungsgemäßen Produkten konventionelle Additive in gebräuchlichen Mengen enthält, die erforderlich sind, um die normalen, mit ihnen verbundenen Funktionen zu liefern.
- Die erfindungsgemäßen makrocyclischen Polyaminverbindungen können außerdem in Brennstoffen (Kraftstoffen) in ausreichenden Mengen, um dem Brennstoff Dispersions- und Detergenseigenschaften zu verleihen, verwendet werden, insbesondere zur Verhinderung und Entfernung von Ablagerungen aus dem Vergaser und den Kraftstoffleitungen, wenn sie vorzugsweise in Benzinkraftstoffzusammensetzungen verwendet werden. Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindung können in Brennstoffen in Mengen im Bereich von etwa 0,0001 bis etwa 1 Gew.%, vorzugsweise etwa 0,0004 bis etwa 0,1 Gew.%, insbesondere mindestens 0,001 Gew.%, bezogen auf das Gewicht der Brennstoffzusammensetzung, verwendet werden. Geeignete Brennstoffzusammensetzungen schließen normalerweise flüssige Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoffe wie Motorenbenzin (ASTM D439-73), Dieselkraftstoff oder Brennstofföl (ASTM D-391) und Mischungen solcher Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoffe mit Nicht-Kohlenwasserstoffmaterialien wie z. B. Alkoholen, Ethern, Nitroverbindungen und dergleichen ein.
- Die Erfindung wird weiter durch die folgenden Beispiele illustriert, die sie in ihrer Reichweite nicht einschränken sollen.
- Um die auffallende Empfindlichkeit der Produktzusammensetzung gegenüber der Art der Zugabe hervorzuheben, wird die Verfahrensweise des Standes der Technik, d. h. die Zugabe von Polyamin zu Kohlenwasserstoffbernsteinsäureanhydrid (direkte Zugabe) ebenfalls beschrieben, um die Bildung linearer Imidprodukte wie im Stand der Technik gelehrt zu illustrieren.
- A. Beispiele für Dispersionsmittel durch Aminierung von PIBSA mit Aza-Kronen- und Aza-polycyclischen Verbindungen.
- 6,5 g des durch eine En-Reaktion von Polyisobutylen (Mn 1300, durch Gasphasenosmometrie) und Maleinsäure wie von Brois und Gutierrez in US-A-4 239 636 beschrieben hergestellten Polyisobutenylbernsteinsäureanhydrids (PIBSA) mit einer Verseifungszahl von 48,5 und 0,5 g (2,5 millimol) Cyclam wurden vereinigt und auf 150ºC erwärmt; die Reaktionsmischung wurde mehrere Stunden bei 150ºC gerührt und dann zwei Stunden lang mit Stickstoff gespült. Die Analyse des Konzentrats ergab 1,65 % Stickstoff und besaß ein IR- Spektrum mit der für ein acyliertes Cyclamprodukt charakteristischen Carbonylabsorption.
- Das obige Verfahren wurde wiederholt, außer daß die verwendete Menge an PIBSA verdoppelt wurde, um eine weitere Acylierung der Cyclamverbindung zu bewirken. Die Analyse des Endprodukts ergab 1,13 % Stickstoff.
- Äquimolare Mengen der Aza-Kronenverbindung und des PIBSA aus Beispiel AI wurden vereinigt und auf 150ºC erwärmt; die Mischung wurde bei dieser Temperatur zwei Stunden lang gerührt und eine Stunde mit Stickstoff gespült. Das acylierte Hexacyclenprodukt enthielt 1,5 % Stickstoff.
- Das obige Verfahren wurde wiederholt, außer daß die Menge an PIBSA verdoppelt wurde. Das Endprodukt enthielt 0,85 % Stickstoff.
Claims (7)
1. Verwendung einer öllöslichen makrocyclischen
Polyaminverbindung als Additiv für Schmieröl, die das Reaktionsprodukt
eines Kohlenwasserstoffbernsteinsäureanhydrids oder einer
-carbonsäure mit 8 bis 15 000 Kohlenstoffatomen und einer
makrocyclischen Azaverbindung mit mindestens zwei NH-Gruppen
und der Formel
ist, in der U, V und W NH, S oder O sein können, n und m
ganze Zahlen von 1 bis 4 sind und Alkylen C&sub2; bis C&sub4; ist.
2. Verwendung einer wie in Anspruch 1 definierten Verbindung als
Additiv für Brennstoffe.
3. Schmierölzusammensetzung, die eine größeren Menge eines Öls
mit Schmierstoffviskosität und 0,1 bis 20 Gew.% einer wie in
Anspruch 1 definierten Verbindung umfaßt.
4. Brennstoffzusammensetzung, die eine größere Menge eines
Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoffs umfaßt, der 0,0001 bis 1 Gew.%,
vorzugsweise mindestens 0,0004 bis 0,1 Gew.% einer wie in
Anspruch 1 definierten Verbindung enthält.
5. Verwendung oder Zusammensetzung nach einem der Ansprüche 1
bis 4, wobei die Azaverbindung
1,4,8,11-Tetraazacyclotetradecan, 1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclododecan,
1,4,7,10-Tetraazacyclotridecan,
1,4,8,12-Tetraazacyclopentadecan,
1,5,9,13-Tetraazacyclohexadecan oder 1,4,7,10,13,16-Hexaazacyclooctadecan
ist.
6. Öllösliche makrocyclische Polyaminverbindung, die das
Reaktionsprodukt eines Kohlenwasserstoffbernsteinsäureanhydrids
oder einer -carbonsäure mit 8 bis 15 000 Kohlenstoffatomen
und einer makrocyclischen Azaverbindung mit mindestens zwei
NH-Gruppen und der Formel
ist, in der U, V und W NH, S oder O sein können, n und m
ganze Zahlen von 1 bis 4 sind und Alkylen C&sub2; bis C&sub4; ist, mit
der Maßgabe, daß mindestens einer aus U, V und W von NH
verschieden ist.
7. Öllösliche makrocyclische Polyaminverbindung, die das
Reaktionsprodukt eines Kohlenwasserstoffbernsteinsäureanhydrids
mit 50 bis 15 000 Kohlenstoffatomen und einer makrocyclischen
Azaverbindung mit mindestens zwei NH-Gruppen und der Formel
ist, in der U, V und W NH, S oder O sein können, n und m
ganze Zahlen von 1 bis 4 sind und Alkylen C&sub2; bis C&sub4; ist.
