Abstract
Es wird eine Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung gezeigt. Die Zusammensetzung besteht aus einem organischen Peroxid und einem Salz aus der Gruppe Pyryliumsalze, Thiapyryliumsalze und Selenopyryliumsalze der allgemeinen Formel (I) (Formel I) wobei die Substituenten die in der Beschreibung angegebenen Bedeutungen haben. Unter Verwendung dieses Fotopolymerisationsinitiators ist es möglich, eine hohe Sensibilität auch schon im sichtbaren Bereich des Lichtes zu erzielen.
Description
R1, R2 und R3
unabhängig voneinander ein Wasserstoffatom, eine Alkylgruppe, eine Halogenalkylgruppe, eine
Ethylenylgruppe, eine Styrylgrappe, eine Alkoxygruppe, eine Phenylgruppe, eine Naphthylgruppe,
eine Alkylphenylgruppe, eine Alkoxyphenylgruppe, eine Hydroxyphenylgruppe, eine Halogenphenyigruppe,
eine Nitrophenyigruppe, eine Aminophenylgruppe, eineNitrogruppe, eine Aminogruppe
oder eine Hydroxylgruppe,
X ein Sauerstoffatom, ein Schwefelatom oder ein Selenatom, und
Y eine an ionische Gruppe.
2. Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie
zusätzlich ein Bindemittel enthält.
3. Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das
Bindemittel ein Polymer mit wiederkehrenden N-Vinylpyrrolidon-Einheiten ist
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung zum Polymerisation von ethylenisch
ungesättigten Verbindungen und insbesondere Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzungen mit
hoher Empfindlichkeit, die gegenüber einer schwachen Belichtung mit ultravioletten Strahlen und sichtbaren
Strahlen empfindlich sind und die im Zusammenhang mit einem Laser verwendet werden können.
Es ist bekannt, daß man Monomere, Diniere, Trimere, Oligomere und Prepolymere mit ungesättigten Bindungen
im Molekül in Gegenwart eines Fotopolymerisationsinitiators fotopolymerisieren kann. Dieses Phänomen
wird in großem Maße bei Fotopolymeren oder Fotoresisten vom Fotopolymerisationstyp bei der Herstellung
von Druckplatten, gedruckten Schaltungen oder von I. C. verwendet.
Geeignete bekannte Fotopolymerisationsinitiatoren sind beispielsweise Benzoinverbindungen, wie Benzoin,
Benzoinethylether, Benzoinmethylether, Carbonylverbindungen, wie Benzil, Benzopbenon, Acetophenon oder Michler's Keton, Azoverbindungen, wie Azobisisobutyronitril oder Azodibenzoyl, Schwefelverbindungen,
wie Dibenzothiazolylsulfid oderTetraethylthiuramdisulfid, Halogenverbindungen, wie Tetrabromkohlenstoff
oder Tribromphenylsulfon und 1,2-Benzanthrachinon.
Aus der DE-PS 12 52 060 sind Pyrilium- oder Thiapyriliumsalze als Fotoinitiatoren bekannt, und in der
DE-OS 30 22 686 werden Onium-Fotoinitiatoren beschrieben, beispielsweise Thiapyrilium- und Selenopyriliumsalze,
die als Fotoinitiatoren verwendet werden.
Diese Fotopolymerisationsinitiatoren verleihen jedoch einigen ethylenisch ungesättigten Verbindungen
so oftmals noch keine ausreichend hohe Empfindlichkeit für die Verwendung als Fotopolymere.
In den vergangenen Jahren sind Verfahren zur Ausbildung von Bilde-η mit Laserstrahlen untersucht worden.
Es gibt bereits einige praktische Anwendungen auf dem Gebiet der Laser-Direktplattenherstellung bei
der Herstellung von Druckplatten, Laserfacsimiles und der Holografie. Lichtempfindliche Materialien für in
solchen Fällen verwendete Laser schließen Silbersalze lichtempfindlicher Materialien, elektrofotografische
Materialien, fotochrome Materialien und Fotopolymere, ein. Die Fotopolymeren haben im Vergleich zu Silbersalz-lichtempfindliehen
Materialien und elektrofotografischen Materialien eine sehr niedrige Empfindlichkeit
und außerdem liegt deren empfindlicher Wellen längen bereich zwischen den ultravioletten Strahlen und
den sichtbaren Ultrakurzstrahlen. Verwendet man beispielsweise monochromatisches Licht von Ar+-Laser
mit einer Wellenlänge von 480 nm, dann benötigt ein Silbersalzfilm eine Energiemenge von 0,0205 mJ/cm2,
während ein Fotopolymer eine Energiemenge von 7000 mJ/cm2 benötigt. Werden Ultraviolettstrahlen mit
Wellenlängen von 351/364 nm verwendet, dann benötigen die Fotopolymeren eine Energiemenge von
100 mJ/cm2.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, eine Initiatorzusammensetzung für die Fotopolymerisation zur Verfügung zu
stellen, welche bei der Zugabe zu fotopolymerisierbaren Verbindungen diesen eine hohe Empfindlichkeit
gegenüber Licht, und zwar auch schon im sichtbaren Bereich, verleiht, wobei diese Empfindlichkeit in der Nähe
der Silbersalz-lichtempfindlichen Materialien liegt.
Diese Aufgabe wird durch die im Patentanspruch 1 angegebene Kombination von organischen Peroxiden
und Pyriliumsalzcn gelöst.
Die Erfindung schließt auch solche Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzungen ein, die zusätzlich
ein Bindemittel enthalten, wobei das Bindemittel vorzugsweise ein Polymermit wiederkehrenden N-Vinylpyrrolidoneinheiten ist
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendbaren organisclien Peroxide schließen nahezu alle organischen Verbindungen mit einer .oder mehreren Sauerstoff-Sauerstoff-Bindungen im Molekül ein. Beispiele hierfür sind

Von den obigen organischen Peroxiden werden Benzoylgruppen enthaltende organische Peroxide bevorzugt, z. B. fcButylperoxybenzoaU Di-t-butyldiperoxyisophthalat, 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-do(benzoylperoxy)hexan, Benzoylperoxid, 2,4-Dichlorbenzoylperoxid und m-Toluoylperoxid. Von deaBenzoylgruppen enthaltenden organischen Peroxiden werden perox yes terartige organische Peroxide besonders bevorzugt, z. B. t-Butylperoxybenzoat, Di-t-butyldiperoxyisophthalat und 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di-(benzoylperoxy)hexan.
In der allgemeinen Formel (I) bedeuten, R1, R2 und R3 jeweils ein Wasserstoffetom, eine Alkylgruppe (vorzugs weise mit 1 ',is 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, z. B. eine Methylgruppe, eine Ethylgruppe, eine Propylgruppe und

Vorzugsweise stellt wenigstens einer der Reste R,, R2 und R3 eine einen Benzolring enthaltende Gruppe dar,
ausgewählt aus einer Styrylgruppe, einer Phenylgruppe, einer Naphthylgruppe, einer Alkylphenylgruppe,
einer Alkoxy phenylgruppe, einer Hydroxyphen ylgruppe, einer Halogenphenylgruppe, einer Nitrophenylgruppe und einer Aminophenylgruppe. Noch bevorzugter ist, daß jeder der Reste R), R2 und R3 eine einen Ben- so
zolring enthaltende Gruppe darstellt. Ganz besonders bevorzugt ist, daß R1, R2 und R3 jeweils eine Alkylphenylgruppe, eine Alkoxyphenylgruppe oder eine Phenylgrupp; darstellen.
Bei den Pyryliumsalzen, Thiapyryliumsalzen und Selenopyryliumsalzen der allgemeinen Formel (I) sind Beispiele für das Anion, das durch Y dargestellt wird, Perchlorat, Fluoroborat, Chloroaluminat, Chloroferrat,
Thioacetat, Methosulfat, Thiocyanat, Sulfat, Nitrat, Fluoroantimonat, Fluorophosphonat und Acetat. Es ist
bevoi7ugt, daß die anionische funktioneile Gruppe Y ein Perchlorat oder Fluoroborat ist.
Von den Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (I) werden Thiapyryliumsalze (d. h. solche, bei denen X ein
Schwefelatom bedeutet) ganz besonders bevorzugt.

Die Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzungen bestehen (A) aus einem oder mehreren der vorerwähnten
organ ischen Perox ide und (B) aus einem oder mehreren der vorerwähnten Pyryliumsalze, Th iapyryliumsalze
und Selenopyryliumsalze, bei denen das Gewichtsverhältnis von (A) zu (B) im Bereich von 1 bis
99 :99 bis 1 und vorzugsweise 3 bis 95 :97 bis 5 liegt. Außerhalb der vorerwähnten Bereiche kann man keine
sehr guten Ergebnissen erzielen.
Geeignete Bindemittel sind Polymere mit Filmbildungsfähigkeit. Beispiele hierfür sind Poly-N-vinylpyrrolidon,
Polymethylmethacrylat, Polystyrol, Polyvinylacetat und Copolymere davon. Von diesen werden
N-Vinylpyrroiidonpöiyrnere wegen ihrer Empfind iidikeii ganz ucsüüucis bevorzugt.
Polymere mit wiederkehrenden Einheiten von N-Vinylpyrrolidon schließen Homopolymere von N-Vinylpyrrolidon und Copolymere von N-Vinylpyrrolidon mit copolymerisierbaren ungesättigten Monomeren ein. Beispiele für ungesättigte Monomere schließen Acrylsäureester, Methacrylsäureester, !Crotonsäureester, Maleinsäureester, Fumarsäureester, Itakonsäureester, Acrylamid, Acrylnitrtil, Ethylen, Vinylchlorid, Vinylacetat, Vinylidenchlorid, Methylvinylether, Methylvinylketon, Styrol, Vinyltoluol und Chlorstyrol, ein. Vorzugsweise verwendet man Polymere mit einem Molekulargewicht von 3000 bis 500 000. Der Anteil an N-Vinylpyrrolidon in den Copolymeren liegt vorzugsweise im Bereich von 5 Gew.-% oder mehr.
Polymere mit wiederkehrenden Einheiten von N-Vinylpyrrolidon schließen Homopolymere von N-Vinylpyrrolidon und Copolymere von N-Vinylpyrrolidon mit copolymerisierbaren ungesättigten Monomeren ein. Beispiele für ungesättigte Monomere schließen Acrylsäureester, Methacrylsäureester, !Crotonsäureester, Maleinsäureester, Fumarsäureester, Itakonsäureester, Acrylamid, Acrylnitrtil, Ethylen, Vinylchlorid, Vinylacetat, Vinylidenchlorid, Methylvinylether, Methylvinylketon, Styrol, Vinyltoluol und Chlorstyrol, ein. Vorzugsweise verwendet man Polymere mit einem Molekulargewicht von 3000 bis 500 000. Der Anteil an N-Vinylpyrrolidon in den Copolymeren liegt vorzugsweise im Bereich von 5 Gew.-% oder mehr.
Die Menge des Polymers, enthaltend wiederkehrende Einheiten von N-Vinylpyrrolidon, liegt im Bereich von
1 bis 100 Gew.-Teilen, bezogen auf 1 Gew.-Teil der Gesamtmenge der Komponente (A) und der Komponente
(B).
Die Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung gemäß der Erfindung ist in der Lage, nahezu alle polymerisierbaren, ethylenisch ungesättigten Verbindungen innerhalb einer sehr kurzen Zeit mit ultravioletten Strahlen im sichtbaren Bereich zu fotopolymerisieren. Als solche fotopolymerisierbare, ethylenisch ungesättigte Verbindungen kommen Monomere, Oligomere und Prepolymere mit polymerisierbaren, ethylenisch ungesättigten Bindungen in Frage. Beispiele für polymerisierbare, ethylenisch ungesättigte Verbindungen sind ungesättigte Säuren, wie Acrylsäure, Methacrylsäure, Itakonsäure, Maleinsäure und Anhydride davon, Phthalsäure und das Anhydrid davon oder Fumarsäure etc., ungesättigte Säureester, wie Methylacrylat (oder -methacrylat). Zu einer dieser polymerisierbaren, ethylenisch ungesättigten Verbindungen oder einer Mischung von zwei ψ
oder mehreren davon, gibt man die erfindungsgemäße Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung und
gewünschtenfalls die vorerwähnten Bindemittel und übliche Farbstoffe, Pigmente, Additive oder Inhibitoren
und geeignete Lösungsmittel, wobei man dann eine fotopolymerisierbare Zusammensetzung erhält.
Besteht die Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung im wesentlichen aus den organischen Peroxiden
und den Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (I) ohne Bindemittel, dann beträgt die Menge der zuzufügenden
Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung (d. h. die Gesamtmenge an organischem Peroxid und
der Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (I)) 0,1 bis 40 Gew.-Teile und vorzugsweise 0,5 bis 30 Gew.-Teile,
bezogen auf 100 Gew.-Teile der polymerisierbaren, ethylenisch ungesättigten Verbindung. Enthält die Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung
ein Bindemittel, z. B. ein N-Vinylpyrrolidonpolymer, dann beträgt
die Menge (d. h. die Gesamtmenge aus organischen Peroxiden, den Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (I)
und dem Bindemittel) 50 bis 200 Gew.-Teile, bezogen auf 100 Gew.-Teile der polymerisierbaren, ethylenisch
ungesättigten Verbindung.
Als Verdünnungslösungsmittel kann man alle Materialien verwenden, die die Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung
und die polymerisierbaren, ethylenisch ungesättigten Verbindungen auflöst Beispiele
hierfür sind Wasser, Methanol, Ethanol, Propanol, Butanol, Aceton, Methylethylketon, Methylisobutylketon,
Ethylenglykolmethyl- oder ethylether, Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Ethylacetat, Butylacetat, Tetrahydrofuran, Dioxan,
Dichlormethan, Chloroform, Tetrachlorkohlenstoff, Trichlorethylen, Dimethylformamid und Dimethylsulfoxid.
Die fotopolymerisierbaren Zusammensetzungen ergeben eine Polymerisationsreaktion innerhalb einer sehr
kurzen Zeit nach der Bestrahlung mit aktiven Strahlen mit einem weiten Wellen längen bereich zwischen ψ
Ultraviolettstrahlen und dem sichtbaren Licht. Geeignete Lichtquellen sind beispielsweise Superhochdruck-, %
Hochdruck-, Mitteldruck- und Niederdruck-Quecksilberlampen, Kohlenbogenlampen, Xenonlampen,
Metallhalogen id lampen, Laserlampen mit sichtbaren und ultravioletten Strahlen, Fluoreszenzlampen, Wolframlampen
und das Sonnenlicht
Die erfindungsgemäße Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzungkann mannichtnurfüreine übliche
Fotopolymerisationsreaktion verwenden, sondern auch in einer Reihe von anderen Gebieten, z. B. für die
Lichthärtung von Überzügen, von Druckfarben, von Klebstoffen, zur Herstellung von Druckplatten und Fotoresisten
bei der Herstellung von Druckplatten oder I. C, wobei man in alle.-. Fällen ausgezeichnete Ergebnisse
erzielt. Da die erfindungsgemäßen Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzungen eine hohe Empfindlichkeit
und zwar in einem weiten Spektralbereich bis zum Bereich des sichtbaren Lichtes aufweisen, erzielt man
überraschend hohe Wirkungen, wenn die lichtempfindlichen Materialien einem Laser für sichtbares Licht,
z. B. einem Ar+-Laser, ausgesetzt werden.
Nachfolgend wird die Erfindung in den Beispielen und Vergleichsbeispielen ausführlich beschrieben. Alle
Teile sind dg bei auf das Gewicht bezogen.
Beispiele 1 bis SO
100 Teile Pentaerythrittriacrylat werden als polymerisierbare, ethylenisch ungesättigte Verbindung verwen-
|| det und 100 Gew.-Teile Poly-N-vinylpyrrolidon werden als Bindemittel verwendet. Zu der Mischung wird die
|| Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung der vorliegenden Erfindung in den in Tabelle 1 angegebenen
Mengen gegeben und die Mischung wird dann gleichmäßig in 1000 Teilen Ethylenglykolmethylether unter
Erhalt einer lichtempfindlichen Lösung gelöst.
Die erhaltene lichtempfindliche Lösung wird auf eine anodisch oxidierte Aluminiumplatte in einer Trokkenfilmdicke
von 1 μπι aufgetragen.
Die Empfindlichkeit wurde unter Verwendung von jeweils monochromatischem Licht sichtbaren Bereiches
(Wellenlänge: 488 nm), ultravioletten Strahlen (Wellenlänge: 365 um) und Laserstrahlen (Wellenlänge:
488 nm) durchgeführt. Das monochromatische Licht im sichtbaren Wellenlängenbereich von 488 nm wurde
mittels einer SOO-W-Xenon lampe als Lichtquelle und Passieren des Lichtes durch zwei Farbglasfilter erhalten.
Das monochromatische Licht von 365 nm wurde mittels einer 450-W-Hochdruck-Quecksilberdampflampe
und Durchleiten des Lichtes durch einen Farbglas filter erhalten. Als Laserlicht wurde ein einbahniger
Ar+-Laser (2,5 W) mit einer Wellenlänge von 488 nm als Strahlenbündel mit einem Durchmesser von
1,25 mm verwendet. Unter Verwendung von jeweils monochromatischem Licht wurde der oben erwähnte
lichtempfindliche Film entwickelt. Die Empfindlichkeit wurde gemessen als die integrierte Lichtenergie, die
zur vollständigen Aushärtung des überzogenen Films erforderlich war.
Die Ergebnisse werden in Tabelle 1 gezeigt, in welcher alle Mengender Fotopolymerisationsini tiatorzusammensetzungen
auf 100 Teile Pentaerythrittriacrylat bezogen sind.

Der Empfind lichkeits test wurde in gleicher Weise wie in den Beispielen 1 bis 50 durchgeführt, wobei jedoch
als Bindemittel Polymethylmethacrylat, Polystyrol oder Polyvinylacetat anstelle von Poly-N-vinylpyrrolidon
verwendet wurden, wie dies in Tabelle 3 gezeigt wird.
Die Ergebnisse werden in Tabelle 3 gezeigt.
Vergleichsbeispiele 1 bis 14
Es wurde der gleiche Empfindlichkeitstest wie in den Beispielen 1 bis 50 durchgeführt, wobei man iedoch
einen der bekannten Fotopolymerisationsinitiatoren, organischen Peroxide, Pyryliumsalze und Thiapyryliumsalze
anstelle der erfindungsgemäßen Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung verwendete.
Die Ergebisse werden in Tabelle 2 gezeigt^ in welcher alle Mengen des Fotopolymerisationsinitiators auf
100 Teile Pentaerythrittriacrylat bezogen sind.

Anmerkung:
Die Abkürzungen in Tabelle 3 haben die gleichen Bedeutungen wie ά !? in Tabelle 1. Die Menge des Bindemittels beträgt
100 Teile.
Tabellen 1,2 und 3 zeigen deutlich, daß die Materialien in den Beispielen alle eine sehr hohe Empfindlichkeit gegenüber ultraviolettem Licht und sichtbarem Licht haben im Vergleich zu den Vergleichsbeispielen.
Insbesondere zeigen die Materialien in Tabelle 1, in denen Poly-N-vinylpyrrolidon als Bindemittel verwendet
wird, eine überraschend hohe Empfindlichkeit gegenüber sichtbarem Licht mit einer Wellenlänge von
488 nm in der Größenordnung von 0,1 mJ/cm2 oder weniger.
Man kann infolgedessen die Fotopolymerisationsinitiatorzusammensetzung gemäß der Erfindung in einem
weiten Bereich für zahlreiche lichtempfindliche Materialien verwenden. Die Erfindung ist besonders geeignet
für Materialien, bei denen eine hohe Empfindlichkeit benötigt wird, z. B. für lichtempfindliche Materialien
für sichtbare Licht-Laser.

- P aten tansprüche:
1. Fotopolymerisationsinitiatomisammensetzung, die ein Salz der allgemeinen Formel (I)R2(Dumfaßt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie zusätzlich ein organisches Peroxid umfaßt, und daß in Formel (I) bedeuten:
