Description

  • Wäßrige Isocyanat-Emulsionen fUr die Verleimung von Spanplatten 1. Zusatz zu Patent (Patentanmeldung P 27 03 27so9) Abänderung des Verfahrens zur Herstellung wäßriger Polyisocyanat-Emulsionen, wobei man die Polyisocyanate in Gegenwart eines Emulgators auf der Grundlage eines Polyglykols mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 4.000 bis 20.000 in Wasser dispergiert bzw. emulgiert, gemäß Patent (Patentanmeldung P 27 03 275.9), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Emulgator anstelle eines Polyglykols Polyvinylalkohol eines mittleren Molekulargewichts von 5 000 bis 100000 verwendet.
  • Die Erfindung nach dem Hauptpatent betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung wäßriger Polyisocyanat-Emulsionen, wobei man die Polyisocyanate in Gegenwart eines Emulgators auf der Grundlage eines Polyglykols mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 4.000 bis 20.000 in Wasser dispergiert bzw. emulgiert.
  • Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Verbesserung des Verfahrens nach dem Hauptpatent, wobei wäßrige Emulsionen von Isocyanaten entstehen, die eine gegenüber den nach dem Hauptpatent erhältlichen gesteigerte Gebrauchsdauer besitzen und überdies preiswerter sind, da zu ihrer Herstellung weniger Emulgator benötigt wird. Im allgemeinen ist eine Menge von etwa 0,5 bis 5 % Emulgator, bezogen auf das gesamte Emulsionsgewicht ausreichend, um eine Emulsion herzustellen, deren titrierbarer Gehalt an Isocyanatgruppen in 10 Stunden um nicht mehr als etwa 2 % abfällt. Die nachstehende Tabelle, die mit der Emulsion des Herstellbeispiels aufgestellt wurde, zeigt dies.
  • Polyvinylalkohole des angegebenen Molgewichtsbereiches sind handelsüblich und bedürfen keiner näheren Erläuterung. Sie werden bevorzugt dem Emulgierwasser in entsprechender Konzentration zugesetzt und lassen eine hohe Emulgiergeschwindigkeit zu.
  • Angaben zu sonstigen Einzelheiten zur Herstellung und Verwendung der Isocyanat-Emulsionen sind in der Beschreibung des Hauptpatents enthalten, auf die hier verwiesen wird.
  • Beispiel Eine typische Emulsion wird aus 30 Teilen technischem Diphenylmethan-4,'-diisocyanat (S1DI) und 70 Teilen 5%iger wäßriger Emulgator-Lösung in folgender Weise erhalten: Es wird eine 5%ige wäßrige Lösung des Polyvinylalkohols hergestellt, indem (z.B. der unter dem Handelsnamen Denka Poval B 17 R erhältliche) Polyvinylalkohol warm in Wasser gelöst wird.
  • In die abgekühlte Lösung wird Diphenylmethan-,4'-diisocynat eingerfihrt. Das Emulgieren mittels eines hochtourigen Rührwerks erfordert ca. 10 bis 30 Sekunden.
  • Zur Bestimmung der Stabilität der Emulsion wird der Isocyanat-Gehalt zum Zeitpunkt der Herstellung gleich 1007, gesetzt und die Abnahme laufend gemessen. So ergibt sich bei der beschriebenen 5%igen Emulsion innerhalb von 7 Stunden nur eine Abnahme von 1,5% Klebstoffgehalt.
  • Die folgende Tabelle gibt eine Übersicht huber die gemittelten Isocyanat-Gehalte für eine Emulsion aus 30 Teilen Diphenylmethan-4,4'-diisocyanat mit 70 Teilen 5giger wäßriger Emulgatorlösung bzw. mit 70 Teilen zeiger wäßriger Emulgatorlösung.

    Anwendungsbeispiel Mit der beschriebenen Emulsion, die mittels 5»iger Emulgatorlösung erhalten worden war, wurden in üblicher Weise Spanplatten hergestellt und ihre technologische Anwendung geprüft.

Claims (1)

  1. Patentanspruch Abänderung des Verfahrens zur Herstellung wäßriger Polyisocyanat-Emulsionen, wobei man die Polyisocyanate in Gegenwart eines Emulgators auf der Grundlage eines Polyglykols mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 4.000 bis 20.000 in Wasser dispergiert bzw. emulgiert, gemäß Patent (Patentanmeldung P 27 03 275.9), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man als Emulgator anstelle eines Polyglykols Polyvinylalkohol eines mittleren Molekulargewichts von 5 000 bis 100000 verwendet. /7
