Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Querverschweißen von Schlauchstücken aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff, insbesondere von vakuumfesten Schläuchen, J5 mit zwei relativ zueinander bewegbaren Druckbacken, zwischen denen das örtlich plastifizierte Schlauchstück einklemmbar ist.
Es sind Vorrichtungen zum Verschweißen von Schläuchstücken aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff bekannt, die im allgemeinen aus zwei "beheizten, gegeneinander bewegbaren Druckbacken bestehen. Das Schlauchstück wird zwischen die Druckbacken geschoben, danach werden die Druckbacken gegeneinander bewegt, wobei das eingeklemmte Schlauchstück durch die aufgeheizten Druckbacken auf die erforderliche Schweißtemperatur gebracht und verschweißt wird.
Ein nach einem bekannten Verfahren verschweißtes Schlauchstück mißt an der Schweißstelle etwa das Eineinhalbfache des ursprünglichen Schlauchdurchmessers (-γ-) · Diese Verbreiterung ist jedoch bei einer Verwendung als Dämpfungselement in einer Kraftstoffleitung ungeeignet, weil sich das Dämpfungselement dem Innendurchmesser der Kraftstoffleitung innerhalb gewisser Toleranzen anpassen bzw. bewegen muß. Außerdem werden bei einer Verwendung eines verschweißten Schlauchstückes als Dämpfungselement an die Schweißnaht bezüglich Festigkeit hohe Ansprüche gestellt. bo
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, mittels einer Vorrichtung die Enden eines gegen äußeren Unterdruck formstabilen Schlauches derart luftdicht zu verschweißen, daß die Schweißnähte den Durchmesser des ursprünglichen Schlauchstückes nicht überragen und die fer> Schweißnaht der erforderlichen Druckbeanspruchung standhält.
Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß einer der Druckbacken eine Rinne mit der Breite des Schlauches aufweist und der andere Backen in die Rinne bewegbar ist
Dadurch kann das in der Rinne liegende und durch Wanne plastifizierte Schlauchstück beim Gegeneinanderbewegen der Druckbacken seitlich nicht wegfließen; die in den begrenzten Raum zwischen den Druckbacken eingeschlossene Kunststoffmasse wird vielmehr in den lichten Raum des Schlauches verdrängt, wo sie nach <iem Abkühlen erstarrt
Ferner können die Stirnflächen des Druckbackens neben der Rinne als Anschlag für den anderen Druckbacken ausgebildet werden.
Um das Abfließen des plastischen Kunststoffes während des Verschweißens (Gegeneinanderbewegen der Druckbacken) in die lichte Schlauchweite zu begünstigen, können die Druckbacken im Anschluß an die Druckflächen für die Schweißnaht halbkreisförmige Ausnehmungen aufweisen, die konisch in die Druckfläche der Schweißbacken übergehen.
Das Abfließen von plastischem Kunststoff in das Schlauchinnere bewirkt u. a. eine wesentliche Verfestigung der Schweißnaht
Darüber hinaus können die Druckflächen der Druckbacken zwischen sich einen Hohlraum mit rechteckigem Querschnitt begrenzen.
Durch den rechteckigen Querschnitt wird die Dicke der Schweißnaht festgelegt. Sie ist vorzugsweise gleich der doppelten Wandstärke des Schlauches. Eine zu dünne Schweißnaht, wis sie durch herkömmliches Verschweißen entsteht, birgt die Gefahr eines Bruches entlang derselben, sobald das verschweißte Schlauchstück hohen Druckbelastungen ausgesetzt wird.
Um eine bessere Führung der gegeneinander bewegbaren Druckbacken zu gewährleisten, können schließlich die Wände der Rinne senkrecht sein.
Anhand eines in der Zeichnung dargestellten Ausführungsbeispieles soll die Erfindung näher erläutert werden. Es zeigt

Der in den Fig. 1 und 2 dargestellte Schweißstempel besteht aus den Druckbacken 1 und 2, wobei der eine Druckbacken zwei parallel zueinander angeordnete Stirnflächen 3, 4 aufweist, welche eine Rinne 5, 6 begrenzen, in welche das eigentliche Druckteil 7 eingreift.
Die Druckbacken 1, 2 sind so ausgelegt, daß diese in der Schweißstellung (im eingefahrenen Zustand) an den Stirnflächen 3,4 aufliegen, wobei jedoch in der Rinne 5, 6 ein offener Spalt 8 mit einem etwa rechteckigen Querschnitt (Druckfläche) gebildet wird. Im Anschluß an die Druckflächen für die Schweißnaht sind halbkreisförmige Ausnehmungen 10,11 vorgesehen, die mit einer konischen Wandung 12,13 in die Druckfläche der Druckbacken 1,2 übergehen.
Die eigentliche Vorrichtung (Fig.3 —5) besteht aus zwei Schlauchführungen 14 und 15, wobei die Führung 14 aus einem Material mit geringem Wärmeleitvermögen sein kann. Ein axial verschiebbares Heizelement 16, welches bei Offenstellung des Schweißstempels zwischen die Druckbacken 1 und 2 gefahren werden kann, erwärmt das Schlauchstück 9 auf die erforderliche Schweißtemperatur. Nach Erreichen der Schweißtemperatur fährt das Heizelement 16 zur Seite, so daß es um die Führung 14 zu liegen kommt, die den Schlauch
während der Scnweißdauer gegen Wärme abschirmt
Nach dem Verschieben des Heizelementes 16 schließen sich die Druckbacken 1, 2 des Schweißstempels bis die Stirnflächen 3, 4, fest aufeinanderliegen. Beim Zusammenpressen der Druckbacken 1, 2 verschweißt die Schlauchwandung, die Schweißnaht erhält die gewünschte, durch den Schweißstempel festgelegte Form. Das überflüssige, sich im plastischen Zustand befindliche Material wird hierbei in das Jnnere des Schlauches 9 verdrängt, wo es zu einem Pfropfen erstarrt, so daß eine feste und absoiüt dichte Verschweißung gebildet wird. Währenddes Schweißens bzw. während der Abkühlungszeit wird die vorhergehende Schweißnaht durch ein Messer 17 derart
getrennt, daß mit einer einzigen Schweißnaht jeweils zwei Schlauchstückenden verschweißt sind. Um die Schweißzeit abzukürzen, können die Druckbacken 1, 2 des Schweißstempels durch Kühlwasser gekühlt werden.
Nach genügender Abkühlung der Schweißnaht fahren die Druckbacken 1, 2 des Schweißstempels in die Ausgangsstellung zurück, der Schlauch 9 wird entsprechend nachgeschoben, während das Heizelement 16 wieder in die Heizstellung gebracht wird.
Die Druckbacken 1,2 können zum Verschweißen von Schlauchenden mit allen bekannten Schweißverfahren, wie z. B. dem Hochfrequenz-, Induktion-, Ultraschallverfahren, verwendet werden.

Claims (5)

26^9 Patentansprüche:
1. Vorrichtung zum Querschweißen von Schlauch-Stücken aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff, insbesondere von vakuumfesten Schläuchen, mit zwei relativ zueinander bewegbaren Druckbacken, zwischen denen das örtlich plastifizierte Schlauchstück einklemmbar ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß einer der Druckbacken (1,2) eine Rinne (5,-6) mit der Breite des Schlauches aufweist und der andere Backen in die Rinne bewegbar ist
2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Stirnflächen (3, 4) des Druckbakkens (2) neben der Rinne (5,6)_als Anschlag für den la anderen Druckbacken (1) ausgebildet sind.
3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Druckbacken (1, 2) im Anschluß an die Druckflächen für die Schweißnaht halbkreisförmige Ausnehmungen (10,11) aufweisen, die konisch in die Druckfläche der Druckbacken (1,
2) übergehen.
4. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Druckflächen der Druckbacken (1, 2) zwischen sich einen Hohlraum mit rechteckigem Querschnitt begrenzen.
5. Vorrichtung nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Wände der Rinne (5,6) senkrecht sind.
