Description

  • Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum kontinuierlichen Überlappungsverschweißen von Kunstoff-Follien oder oder -Tateln Zusatz zu Patent ... (Patentanmeldung P 24 26 154.9-10) Das Hauptpatent bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zum Kontinueirlichen Überlappungsverschweißen von thermoplastischen Kunstoff-Follien oder -Tafeln durch Ernitzen und Zusammenpressen ihrer einander zugewendeten Oberflachen, das sich dadurch auszeichnet, daß ein Zusatzwerkstoff im heißplastischen Zustand zwischen die erhitzen Oberflächen gebracht und durch das Zusammenpressen schichtformig verteilt wird.
  • Im Hauptpatent wird die Auflasssung vertreten, daß der Zusatzwerkstoff reichllen zu dosieren sei, damit ein erneblicher Teil der für die Verschweißung der zu verbindenen Oberflächen erforderlichen Wärme durch den Zusatzwerkstoff eingebracht wird und dadurch das Verfahren von zufalligen Schwankungen der vorherigen Oberflachenerhitzung, wie sie bei Schweißarbeiten im Freien bei unterschiedlichen Wind- und Temperaturverhaltnissen nicht zu vermeiden sind, weitgehend unabhangig wird. Es zeigte sich aber, daß durch die Verwendung großerer Mengen des Zusatzwerkstoffes unerwuuschte Spannungen im Nahtbereich entstehen. Wahrend die an den Schweißbereich seitlich anschließenden Flächenteile verhaltnismaßig kühl bleiben und daher ihre Di Dimenslonen kautu ändern, erleidet das auf Sehmeiztemperatur erhitzte Material im Kern der Naht einen erhe@lichen Volumjenschrumpf.
  • Ertindu@gsgemaß wurde festgestellt, daß man die Spannungen innerua@@ eines ertraglichen Rahmens halten kann, wenn an den Preßdruck nach Dauer und Stärke so einstellt, dafl die verbieibende mittlere Dicke der Schicht des Zusatzwerkstofis nicht größer als die Dicke der Folien oder Talen ist. Wenn eine der ueiden Folien oder Tafeln dunner als die andere ist, soll das MaL der Jeweils duuneren zugrunde gelegt werden.
  • Angestrebt werden sollte eine Dicke der Schicht des Zusatzwerkstoffs von ein Drittel bis zwei Drittel der Dicke der Follen oder Tatein bzw. der jeweils dunneren Folie oder Tafel. Für den in der Prxis besonders interessierendeu Bereich von Foliendicken um 3 mm entspricht dies einer Verbleibenden mittleren Dicke der Schicht des Zusatz werkstoffs zwischen i und 2 mm.

Solche Abstandsunterschiede sind ins-@esondere beim Arbeiten im ireien Gelande, belspie@sweise auf einer abzudichtenden Erdfiache, unvermeidilch.

  • Die Verriugerung der Menge des Zusatzwerkstoils verringert auch die durch den Zusatzwerkstoff zwlschen die zu verbindenden Oberflachen eingebrachte harmemenge. Uaterseaied@iche (zu starke oder zu geringe) vorherige Ernitzung der zu verbindenden Oberilachen wirkt sich daner entsprechend @eichter in Fehlern der Schweißnaht aus.
  • @rfindungsgemäß ist daher vorgesenen, daß die Lrhitzung de@ Zu verßindenden Oberflachen abungig von der Temperatur gesteuert wird. Darunter soll sowohl die Regelung der @eizleistung der für die @rhitzung verwendeten Gerdie ab@@@ig von der in Bewegungsrichtung hinter diesen Geraten erreichten Oberflächentemperatur ais auch die Steuerung dieser Geräte abhangig von der in Bewegungsrichtung ver diesen Geraten gemessenen Oberflachentemperatur verstanden werden. Erfindungsgemaß Bevorzugt wird die @etztere Alternative, weil die Anordnung von Temperaturmeßeinrichtungen im Anschluß an die Erhitzun@sgerate problematisch sein kann. Erstens kann die Messung durch Store@nflusse der Heizeinrichtungen verfalscht werden und zweltens sucht man mit den Erhitzungseinrieutungen so uahe als moglich an diejenige Stelle @eranzugehen, an der die beiden Folien zusammengepreßt werden, um eine ung@eieamaßige Auskhhlung im Anschiuß an die Lrnitzung zu vermeiden. Die erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung ist daner vorteilnafterwelse vor der Erhitzungseinrichtung mit einem Temperuiurmeßorgan ausgerüstet.
  • In diesem Zusammenhang ist die kombinierte Verwendung eines Infrarotstrahlers und mindestens einer dem Infrarotstrahier nachgeschalteten Heißluftdüse besonders vorteilhaft. Denn einerseits lassen sich elektrisch betriebene Infrarotstrahler verhältnismäßig rasch und einfach regeln, Und andererseits erscheint es zweckmäßig, wenn die von der Heißgasdüse erzeugte Heißluftwolke sich in möglichst großem Abstand von den Temperaturmeßgeräten befindet.
  • Die Erfindung wird im folgenden naher unter Bezugnahme auf die Zeichnung erläutert, die ein vorteilhaftes Ausfhhrungsbeispiel veranschaulicht. Sie zeigt einen schematischen Längsschnitt durch den Schweißber eich und ist im wesentlichen identisch mit der des Hauptpatents, so daß wegen der allgemeinen Beschreibung auf das Hauptpatent verwiesen werden kann.
  • Abweichend von dem Ausführungsbeispiel des Hauptpatents besteht die Erhitzungseinrichtung aus dem Infrarotstrahler 5 und zwei nachfolgend angeordneten Heißluftdüse 12, von denen die erste die Heißluft von beispielsweise 2700 C hauptsächlich gegen die Oberflächen 7 richtet, während der von der zweiten Düse ausgestoßene Heißluftstrom auch noch eine Komponente entgegen der Vorschubrichtung aufweist.
  • Die von dieser Düse ini weiteren Umkreis erzeugte Heißluftwolke schützt auch bis zu eihem gewissen Grade din Bereich zwischen der Heißluftdüse tind der Preßstelle 11 vor zu starker Abkühlung.
  • In Vorschubrichtung 10 vor dem Infrarotstrahler 5 ist ein Strahiungsmeßgerät angeordnet, das die Temperaturen der einander zugewendeten Oberflächen der Folien 2 und 3 mißt. Die Meßdaten werden einem automatisch arbeitenden Regler zugeführt, der die Heizleistung des Infrarotstrahlers 5 und/oder der Heißluffdüse 12 derart steuert, daß sich auch bel unterschiedlichsten Anfangstemperaturen der Folien 2 und v im Bereich 11 etwa gleiche Schweißbedingungen einstellen. Statt der Verwendungeines automatischen Steuergeräts könnte seibstverständiich auch eine optische Anzeige der Oberflächentemperaturen in Verbindung mit manueller Verstellbarkeit der Heiz-@eistung vorgesehen sein.

    4. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 - 3, d a d u r c h g e -h e n n z e i c h n e t , daß die Ernitzung der zu verbindenden Oberflachen abhungig von deren Temperatur gesteuert wird.

Vorrichtung zur Ausübung des Verfahrens nach einem der Ansprüche 1 - 4, d a d u r c h g e k e n n z e i c h n e t, daß sie titit einem die Temperatur der zu verbindenden Oberflächen messenden Organ und einem gemäß den Meßergebnissen dieses Organs beeinflußbaren teuerert fi@r die Leistung der Erhitzungseinrichtung ausgerüstet ist.
    b. Vorrientung nach Anspruch 5, d a d u r c h g e k e n n -e e 1 c il ii e t , daß die Erhitzungseinrichtung einen Infrarotstrahler und mindestens eine in Vorschubrichtung dahinter angeordnete Heißgasduse umlaßt.
