Besonders wirksame Verbindungen der Erfindung sind Phenylessigsäureester, die durch Umsetzen von
Phenylessigsäuren der allgemeinen Formel lib

mit einem Alkohol der Pyrethrumverbindungen bzw.
ίο Pyrethruminhaltsstoffe erhalten werden. In dieser allgemeinen
Formel bedeutet R1 einen unverzweigten oder verzweigten Alkylrest mit 1 bis 5 Kohlenstoffatomen,
einen Alkoxyrest mit 1 oder 2 Kohlenstoffatomen, ein Halogenatom oder eine Methylmercaptogruppe,
wobei zwei der Reste R1 eine Trimethylen-, Tetramethylen- oder Methylendioxygruppe bilden
können, ri ist eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 4, und R2
bedeutet einen unverzweigten oder verzweigten Alkylrest mit 3 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, eine Allyl-, Propargyl-
oder Isopropenylgruppe. Diese Ester zeichnen sich durch niedrige Warmblütertoxizität und
hohe insektizide Wirkung aus. Die Aktivität beruht vermutlich auf dem Phenylessigsäurerest des Moleküls.
Daher sind diese Phenylessigsäuren wichtige Zwischenprodukte der Erfindung.
Die Tatsache, daß bei den erfindungsgemäßen Essigsäureestern der allgemeinen Formel I, in der Y
einen Rest der allgemeinen Formel II bedeutet, die Reste Rj, R2 und R3 sehr unterschiedlich sein können,
zeigt, daß diese Reste die pestizide Wirkung der erfindungsgemäßen Essigsäureester nicht entscheidend
beeinflussen.
Seit der Einführung von Hexachlorcyclohexan und 1,1,1 - Trichlor - 2,2 - bis · (p - chlorphenyl) - äthan als
Pestizide wurden auf diesem Gebiet erhebliche Fortschritte gemacht. Phosphorverbindungen, Carbamate
und natürliche und synthetische Pyrethrumverbindungen gestatten es, die Ernteerträge zu erhöhen.
Diese landwirtschaftlichen Chemikalien verursachen jedoch Umweltverschmutzung. Ferner haben zahlreiche
Schadinsekten eine Resistenz gegen Pestizide entwickelt. Pestizide sollen eine niedrige Toxizität
haben, geringe Rückstände hinterlassen und sich rasch zersetzen. Sie sollen sich bei ihrem Eingang in
den biologischen Kreislauf in ungiftige Verbindungen verwandeln. Ferner sollen Pestizide keine Schwermetalle
enthalten und sich hauptsächlich aus Kohlenstoff, Wasserstoff und Sauerstoff zusammensetzen.
Von den bisher bekannten pestizidwirksamen Estern, z. B. den Phosphorsäureestern und Chrysanthemumcarbonsäureestern, glaubte man, daß ihre Aktivität auf der Grundstruktur der Phosphorsäure bzw. der Cyclopropancarbonsäure beruhe. Die Phosphorsäureester enthalten ein doppelt gebundenes Schwefel- oder Sauerstoffatom an einem fünfwertigen Phosphoraiom, während die Chrysanthemumcarbonsäureester als wesentliches Strukturelement einen dreigliedrigen Ring enthalten. Die pestizide Aktivität hängt von der Art eier Reste an den wesentlichen Strukturelementen ab.

die durch ihre ebene Struktur gekennzeichnet sind. Der Alkoholrest der erfindungsgemäßen Ester
der allgemeinen Formel I entspricht dem Alkoholrest der bekannten Chrysanthemumcarbonsäureester, wie
aus den Beispielen der nachstehend beschriebenen Verbindungen hervorgeht. Durch geeignete Wahl der
entsprechenden Säurekomponente und der Alkoholkomponenten lassen sich die verschiedensten Wirkungen
steuern, wie rasches Einsetzen der Wirkung, Permeabilität, Eindringen in lebende Pflanzen, restliche
Aktivität, pestizide Wirkung, Störung der Metamorphose, Sterilisation oder Unterdrücken der Eiablage.
Auch hinsichtlich des pestiziden Wirkungsspektrums zeigen die Verbindungen der Erfindung eine
selektive oder nicht selektive Wirkung gegenüber Insekten der Gattung Coreoptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera,
Orthoptera, Hemiptera, Homoptera und Acarus, je nach der speziellen Kombination der Säurekomponente
und der Alkoholkomponente. Die Verbindungen der Erfindung können auch zur Bekämpfung
anderer Schadinsekten, wie Nematoden, verwendet werden. Ein weiteres wichtiges Merkmal der Verbindungen
der Erfindung sind ihre Aktivität gegenüber Schadinsekten, die gegenüber den gegenwärtig verwendeten
Pestiziden resistent sind, und ihre sehr niedrige Toxizität gegenüber Warmblütern und Menschen.

Der Ausdruck »reaktionsfähiges Derivat« der Carbonsäure der allgemeinen Formel IX bedeutet ein
Säurehalogenid, ein Säureanhydrid oder einen Ester eines niedrigsiedenden Alkohols, ein Alkalimetallsalz.
ein Silbersalz oder ein Salz eines tertiären Amins. Als »reaktionsfähiges« Derivat des Alkohols der allgemeinen
Formel XII können z. B. die Halogenide oder Sulfonsäureester verwendet werden.
Die Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I schließen auch optische Isomere ein, da sie ein asymmetrisches
Kohlenstoffatom in der α-Stellung aufweisen.
Zur Herstellung der Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I wird die Veresterung der Säure der allgemeinen
Formel XI mit dem Alkohol der allgemeinen Formel XII vorzugsweise in einem geeigneten inerten
Lösungsmittel bei Raumtemperatur oder erhöhter Temperatur und unter geeigneten wasserabspaltenden
Bedingungen, z. B. in Gegenwart von Dicyclohexylcarbodiimid, durchgeführt. Bei Verwendung eines
Säurehalogenids als reaktionsfähigem Derivat der Säure wird die Umsetzung mit dem Alkohol bei
Raumtemperatur und in Gegenwart eines Säureacceptors, z. B. eines tertiären Amins, wie Pyridin
oder Triäthylamin, durchgeführt. Man erhält in hoher Ausbeute den entsprechenden Ester. Als Säurehalogenide
werden die Säurechloride bevorzugt. Die Umsetzung wird vorzugsweise in Gegenwart eines inerten
Lösungsmittels durchgeführt, wie Benzol, Toluol oder Petroläther. Durch Umsetzen des Esters der Säure
der allgemeinen Formel XI mit einem niedrigsiedenden Alkohol, wie Methanol oder Äthanol, als reaktionsfähigem
Derivat der Säure kann die entsprechende Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel I in hoher Ausbeute durch Erhitzen des Esters mit dem
Alkohol der allgemeinen Formel XII in Gegenwart einer Base, vorzugsweise dem Alkalimetallalkoholat,
das dem niedrigsiedenden Alkohol des eingesetzten Esters entspricht, oder in Gegenwart von Natriumhydrid
in einem inerten Lösungsmittel, wie Toluol, und unter Abtrennung des bei der Umsetzung freigesetzten
niedrigsiedenden Alkohols durch fraktionierte Destillation hergestellt werden.
Bei Verwendung eines Säureanhydrids als reaktions-
fähigem Derivat der Säure der allgemeinen Formel XI können die Verbindungen der alleemeinen Formel I
durch Umsetzen des Säureanhydrids mit dem Alkohol der allgemeinen Formel XII bei Raumtemperatur
oder vorzugsweise unter Erhitzen und in Gegenwart
eines Lösungsmittels, wie Toluol oder Xylol, hergestellt
werden. Bei Verwendung eines Halogenids oder Sulfonsäureester des Alkohols der allgemeinen Formel
XIl wird die Säure der allgemeinen Formel X' im allgemeinen in Form eines Aikaümetallsalzes,
Silbersalzes oder eines Salzes mit einem tertiäieß
Amin verwendet. Diese Salze können in situ durch Zugabe der entsprechenden Base zur Säure der allgemeinen
Formel XI hergestellt werden. Ib diesem FaH wird vorzugsweise ein LösungsmitteL wie Benzol,
Aceton oder Dimethyifonnajnid, verwendet, aad die
Umsetzung wird vorzueise anter Erhitzen des Reaktionsgemisches bis mm Siedepunkt oder aaterhalb
des Siedepaaktes des verwendeten LösaagsnÄ"

oder Toluol, und in Gegenwart von flüssigem Ammoniak bei Verwendung von Natriumamid als Base, in

Der Arylmalonsäureeslcr, der durch Carbalkoxylierung

in Gegenwart eines Alkalimelallalkoholals oder eines Alkalimetallhydrids als Base in einem inerten Lösungsmittel
oder einem Alkohol, der dem Alkalimetallalkoholat entspricht, alkyliert.
Stufe 2
Die Hydrolyse des Nitrils wird in an sich bekannter Weise, z. B. durch Erhitzen mit einer Mineralsäure
oder einem Alkalimetallhydroxid, durchgeführt.
Stufe 3 und 4
Die entsprechende Phenylessigsäure oder deren niederer Alkylester wird mit einem entsprechenden
Halogenid oder Sulfonsäureester der allgemeinen Formel R'—X in einem inerten Lösungsmittel und in
Gegenwart einer Base, wie einem Alkalimetall oder Alkalimetallhydrid oder n-Bulyllithium. bei Raum-Stufe

Die Verseifung und Decarboxylierung kann in an sich bekannter Weise mil einer Säure oder einer Base
und Erhitzen durchgerührt werden. Mann kann auch den Diester mil einem Alkalimelallalkoholat in einem
Alkohol erhitzen, wobei der Diester unter Decarboxylierung in den Monoester umgewandelt wird.
Der Monoester wird in an sich bekannter Weise in hoher Ausbeute zur entsprechenden Carbonsäure verseift.
Nachfolgend wird die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäß als Alisgangsverbindungen eingesetzten Carbonsäuren
der allgemeinen Formel Xl oder entsprechender Nitrile oder niederer Ester erläutert.
n-Isopropyl-4-mctho.\y phenylacetonitril
14,72 g (0.1 Mol) 4-Methoxyphenylacetonitril in
10 ml wasserfreiem Toluol werden unter Rühren innerhalb 30 Minuten zu einer auf 70 C erwärmten
Suspension von 2,64 g (0,11 Mol) Natriumhydrid und 18.45 g (0,15 Mol) lsopropylbromid in 100 ml wasserfreiem
Toluol und 10 ml wasserfreiem Dimethylformamid gegeben. Nach beendeter Zugabe wird
das Gemisch 3 Stunden auf 80 bis 85 C erhitzt, anschließend
auf Raumtemperatur abgekühlt und in 200 ml Eiswasser gegossen. Die organische Lösung
wird abgetrennt und die wäßrige Lösung zweimal mit Diäthyläthcr extrahiert. Die vereinigten organischen
Lösungen werden nacheinander mit Wasser und gesättigter wäßriger Kochsalzlösung gewaschen,
über Natriumsulfat getrocknet und unter vermindertem Druck eingedampft. Das zurückbleibende öl
wird unter vermindertem Druck destilliert. Ausbeute 5.70 g (83,0% d. Th.) ri-Isopropyl-4-methoxyphcnylacctonitril
vom Kp.,U5 95 bis 96 C.

1. Das eingesetzte 4-Bromphcnylacctonitril wird
aus 4-Bromtoluol hergestellt, das bei 180 C mit
Brom bromicrl und mit Kaliumcyanid in einem
Gemisch von DMSO — H2O in das Nitril überführt
wird.
2. Äthylbenzol wird nach K os ο 1 ο ρ ο f f (.1. Am.
Chem. Soc, Bd. 68 [1946], S. 1670) chlormethylicrt.
Die Chlormethylverbindung wird durch fraktionierende Destillation gereinigt und auf
die vorstehend beschriebene Weise in das Nilril überführt.
3. lsopropylbenzol wird chlormeihylierl und in das Nitril überfuhrt.
4. Technisch erhältliches 3-Chlorbenzylehlorid wird
in das Nilril überführt.
5,6. 3-FluortoIuol und 4-Fluortoluol werden mit
NBS in Tetrachlorkohlenstoff bromiert und anschließend in die Nitrile überführt.
7. Thioanisol wird mit Paraformaldehyd und Zinkchlorid
in schlechter Ausbeute chlormelhyliert und anschließend in das Nitril überführt.
8. Mesitylen wird chlormethylierl und in das Nitril überführt. In diesem Fall verläuft die Chlormethylierung
selbst bei erhöhter Temperatur (IK) C) und langen Reaktionszeiten (15 Stunden)
sehr langsam.
9. 3-Brnmbenzotrifluorid wird nach der Grignard-Methode
(R. Filier und H. N ο ν a r, J. Org.
Chem.. Bd. 25 [I960]. S. 733) in das 3-Hydroxymethylbenzotrifluorid
umgewandelt und hierauf mit HBr — H2SO4 in das Bromid und anschließend
mit KCN-DMSO in das Nitril überführt.
10. Piperonylalkohol wird mit Thionylchlorid bei
0 C in das Chlorid umgewandelt und anschließend mit KCN-DMSO zum Nitril umgesetzt.
11. m-Phenoxytoluol. hergestellt aus m-Kresol und
Bromtoluol. wird mit Brom bei 230 C bromiert. Das entsprechende Bromid wird in das Nitril
überfuhrt.
4-Brom-u-isopropylphenylessigsäure
20 g 4 - Brom - a - isopropylphenylacetonitril wird
6 Stunden mit 140 ml 50volumprozentiger Schwefelsäure auf 1450C erhitzt. Nach dem Abkühlen wird
das Reaktionsgemisch auf 150 g Eis gegossen und dreimal mit jeweils 100 ml Diäthyläther extrahiert.
Die vereinigten Ätherextrakte werden dreimal mit jeweils 70 ml 5%iger kalter Natronlauge extrahiert.
Die wäßrigen Extrakte werden mit konzentrierter Salzsäure angesäuert und hierauf mit Diäthyläther
extrahiert. Die vereinigten Ätherextrakte werden nacheinander mit Wasser und gesättigter Kochsalzlösung
gewaschen und über Natriumsulfat getrocknet. Nach dem Abdestillieren des Lösungsmittels hinterbleiben
16,9 g (78,2% d. Th.) weiße Kristalle, die für die nächste Stufe genügend rein sind. Ein Teil der Kristalle
wird aus Benzol umkristallisiert; F. 97 bis 98° C.
4-Methoxy-u-i: opropylphenylessigsäure
12,8 g 4 - Methox1, - «- isopropylphenylacetonitril
in 200 ml Athylenglykol und 40 g 50%iger Kalilauge werden 8 Stunden auf 140° C unter Rückfluß erhitzt.
Nach dem Abkühlen wird das Reaktionsgemisch in 200 ml Eiswasser eingegossen und mit Äther extrahiert.
Die wäßrige Lösung wird mit konzentrierter Salzsäure angesäuert und dreimal mit jeweils 150 ml
Diäthyläther extrahiert. Die vereinigten Ätherextrakte werden nacheinander mit Wasser und gesättigter
Kochsalzlösung gewaschen und über Natriumsulfat getrocknet. Nach dem Abdestillieren des Lösungsmittels
hinterbleiben 11,30 g (80,4% d. Th.) weiße Kristalle. Nach Umkristallisation aus Benzol
schmilzt die Verbindung bei 146 bis 148°C.

2-Phenyl-2-propargylmalonsäurediäthylester
Gemäß vorstehender Methode zur Herstellung von 2 - Phenyl - 2 - allylmalonsäurediäthylester wird der
Malonsäurediäthylester in 81,7%iger Ausbeute erhalten. K.p.0,5 115 bis 120°C.
H-Propargylphenylessigsäure
20,0 g (0,073 Mol) 2 - Phenyl - 2 - propargylmalonsäurediäthylester
werden 2 Stunden in 330 g einer 5%igen Lösung von Kaliumhydroxid in Methanol unter Rückfluß gekocht und verseift. Danach wird
das Methanol unter vermindertem Druck abdestilliert, der Rückstand in 150 ml kaltem Wasser gelöst
und mit konzentrierter Salzsäure angesäuert. Es erfolgt spontane Decarboxylierung. Die Monocarbonsäure
wird mit Diäthyläther extrahiert. Der Ätherextrakt wird eingedampft. Ausbeute 12,4 g (97,6%
d. Th.) vom F. 90 bis 93C.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen mit einer Isopropenylgruppe in der α-Stellung, wie die Verbindungen
83, 85 und 125, können in üblicher Weise aus dem entsprechenden Säurechlorid durch Veresterung
hergestellt werden, doch wandert die Doppelbindung der Isopropenylgruppe leicht in die α,/9-Stellung. Nach
chromatographischer Reinigung werden die Verbindungen in niedriger Ausbeute erhalten. Der Einsatz
der gemäß nachfolgender Methoden hergestellten Ausgangsverbindungen ergibt im erfindungsgemäßen
Verfahren bessere Ergebnisse.
4-Methoxy-/i,/S-dimethylatropasäure
Eine aus 38,1 g Isopropylbromid und 7,3 g Magnesium in 90 ml wasserfreiem Diäthyläther hergestellte
Lösung von Isopropylmagnesiumbromid wird unter Eiskühlung mit einer Lösung von 16,6 g 4-Methoxyphenylessigsäure
in 100 ml wasserfreiem Tetrahydrofuran versetzt. Danach wird die Lösung 2 Stunden
bei Raumtemperatur gerührt. Hierauf wird die Lösung mit einer Lösung von 7,0 g wasserfreiem
Aceton in 20 ml wasserfreiem Toluol versetzt und 5 Stunden unter Rückfluß erhitzt. Nach dem Abkühlen
wird die Lösung mit 15%iger Schwefelsäure angesäuert die wäßrige Phase abgetrennt und mit
Diäthyläther extrahiert. Die vereinigten organischen Lösungen werden mit 10%iger wäßriger Natriumcarbonatlösung
extrahiert. Der wäßrige Extrakt wird mit konzentrierter Salzsäure angesäuert und mit Diäthylätijer
extrahiert. Der Ätherextrakt wird über Natriumsulfat getrocknet Nach dem Abdestillieren
des Lösungsmittels wird der Rückstand aus Äthylacetat ufflkristallisierL Ausbeate J 2,4 g (55.2% d. Th.)
4-Methoxy-£/Mnnethylatropasäare vom F. 124 bis
2-<Cyclohexan-i '-ol-l '-yl)-buttersäureäthylester
Diese Verbindung wird aus 29,3 g 2-BrombuttersäureaÄylestet,
14$ g Cyclohexanon und 9,51 g Zink
in SQr ml Benzo! und 25inl Toluol nach Reformat
sky hergestellt; Ausbeute 16,4 g (51% d. Th.) vomKp.4 116 bis 1170C.
2-(Cyclohexen-1 -yl)-buttersäureäthylester
16,4 g 2 - (Cyclobexan - Γ - öl - Γ - yl) - buttersäureäthylester
werden mit 11 g Phosphorpentoxid in 60 ml wasserfreiem Benzol 3 Stunden unter Rückfluß
erhitzt. Nach dem Abkühlen wird das Reaktionsgemisch in 80 ml kaltes Wasser eingegossen, die
organische Lösung wird abgetrennt, mit gesättigter Kochsalzlösung gewaschen und unter vermindertem
Druck eingedampft. Der Rückstand wird unter ver-
i.s mindertem Druck destillien. Ausbeute 11,6 g (76,5%
d. Th.) eines hellgelben Öls vom Kp.4 88 bis 92° C.
2,3 - Diäthyl - 3 - hydroxy - pentancarbonsäureäthylester
In ähnlicher Weise wie 2-(Cyclohexan-r-ol-l'-yl)-buttersäureäthylester
wird die Titelverbindung aus 3-Pentanon und 2-Brornbuttersäureäthylester hergestellt.
Ausbeute 52,8% d. Th.; Kp.2O 113 bis 121 C.
Eine weitere Ausgangsverbindung für das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren wird erhalten, indem man
die Titelverbindung gemäß der vorgenannten Herstellung von 2-(Cyclohexen-l-yl)-buttersäureäthylester
mit Phosphorpentoxid in Benzo) dehydratisiert. Ausbeute 68,2% d. Th., Kp.22 95 bis 98° C.
Die Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I weiten eine ausgezeichnete pestizide Wirkung auf. Zur
Herstellung von pestiziden Mitteln können die Verbindungen mit Lösungsmitteln, Füllstoffen, Verdünnungsmitteln,
anderen Wirkstoffen, Dispergiermitteln, Netzmitteln, Ausbreitemitteln, Treibmitteln,
Emulgiermitteln und Lockmitteln in an sich bekannter Weise zu emulgierbaren Konzentraten, benetzbaren

6.2υ g (0,02 Mol) </-Äthylphenylessigsäureanhydrid
und 3,76 g (0,02 Mol) 5-Benzyl-3-furylmethylalkohol werden in 50 m! wasserfreiem Pyridin gelöst. Das
Gemisch wird 2 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur gerührt, sodann in 100 ml Eiswasser eingegossen und
dreimal mit jeweils 20 ml Diäthyläther extrahiert. Die vereinigten Ätherextrakte werden zweimal mit jeweils

abkühlen gelassen und in 30 ml Eiswasser eingegossen. Die Toluolschicht wird abgetrennt, mit gesättigter

Eine Lösung von S;üg der gemäß Methode zur Heistellung der

Verbindung und 4,5 g Triethylamin in 50 ml Dimethylformamid wird unter Kühlung im Eisbad allmählich
mit 7,0 g 3-Phenoxybenzylbromid versetzt und 15 bis 18 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur gerührt.
Danach wird das Gemisch in kalte 10%ige Schwefelsäure eingegossen und mit Diäthyläther extrahiert.
Der Ätherextrakt wird mit 10%iger wäßriger Natriumcarbonatlösung gewaschen, über Natriumsulfat
getrocknet und eingedampft. Es hinterbleiben 4,8 g roher Hydroxyester, der durch 13stündiges Erhitzen
auf 800C mit Phosphorpentoxid dehydratisiert wird. Nach dem Abfiltrieren und Abdestillieren des Lösungsmittels
hinterbleibt die rohe Titelverbindung als dunkel gefärbtes Öl. Durch chromatographische
Reinigung an Kieselgel werden 1,9 g (40,5% d. Th.) reiner Ester erhalten; n? 1,5798.
Verbindungen des Typs wie die Verbindungen IS1
21, 243, 244 und 246 werden aus der entsprechenden Carbonsäure oder dem Säurechlorid hergestellt, die
durch Hydrolyse des Äthylesters erhalten wird, der in ähnlicher Weise wie die vorgenannten Ausgangsverbindungen
2 - (Cyclohexan -1' - öl - Γ - yl) - buttersäureäthylester
und 2 - (Cyclohexen -1 - yl) - buttersäureäthylester hergestellt wird. Die Hydrolyse kann
in an sich bekannter Weise mit einer Lösung von Natriumhydroxid oder Kaliumhydroxid in Methanol
bei Raumtemperatur durchgeführt werden. Die erhaltene Carbonsäure enthält eine geringe Menge an Doppelbindungsisomeren
(bis zu etwa 10%), die rohe Carbonsäure wirrt jedoch ohne Abtrennung der Isomeren
verestert und das Produkt in der letzten Stufe chromatographisch an Kieselgel gereinigt.
Durch Vermischen der Verbindungen (1) bis (297) mit Xylol und einem als Netzmittel wirkenden Gemisch
(nachfolgend als »Netzmittel Α« bezeichnet) aus einer nichtionischen oberflächenaktiven Verbindung
auf der Basis eines Alkylphenols und einer anionischen oberflächenaktiven Verbindung auf der
Basis von Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure werden 25%ige, 50%ige bzw. 25%ige emulgierbare Konzentrate hergestellt.
20 bis 25 Tage alte Reispflanzen werden in Töpfen gezogen und mit einer 300fach verdünnten
Lösung der erhaltenen emulgierbaren Konzentrate sowie einer 300fach verdünnten Lösung eines benetzbaren
Pulvers mit 30% 1-Naphthyl-N-methylcarbarr.at
(Wirkstoff A) zum Vergleich in einer Menge von 10 ml/Topf gesprüht. Sodann werden die Töpfe mit
einem zylindrischen Drahtnetz bedeckt Auf die mit dem Wirkstoff A sowie den Verbindungen 1 bis 21

gegeben. 30 Moskitolarven werden jeweils in ein Becherglas gegeben und 1 Tag stehengelassen.
Danach wird die Mortalität berechnet und der Wert für die LC50, d. h. die 50%ige letale Konzentration,
bestimmt. Die Ergebnisse sind in Tabellen zusammengestellt.

Aus den Beispielen 228 bis 233 ist ersichtlich, daß die Verbindungen der Erfindung eine ausgezeichnete
biologische Aktivität gegenüber verschiedenen Schadinsekten und Milben besitzen.
Die Verbindungen der Erfindung können zur Bekämpfung der verschiedensten Schadinsekten, wie
Moskitos, Stubenfliegen und Kakerlaken. Getreideinsekten, wie Reisbohrer (Calandra oryzae) und Milben,
sowie anderer in der Landwirtschaft schädlicher Insekten, wie Pflanzenhüpfer, grüne Reisblatthüpfer
(Nephotettix bipunctatus cinticeps Uhler), Kohlwürmer (Barathra brassicae Linne), Kohlschaben (PIutella
maculipennis Curtis), Noctuidae, Kohlweißlingen (Pieris rapae Linne), Reisstengelbohrer (Chilo
suppressalis Walker), Aphiden, Tortrices und Blattbohrer verwendet werden.
Die Verbindungen können ferner in Getreidelagern, im Gartenbau, in Gewächshäusern und bei der Lebensmittelverpackung
verwendet werden.
Zur Herstellung von pestiziden Mitteln können bessere Wirkungen durch Verwendung einer Kombination
von zwei oder mehr Verbindungen der F.rfindung erzielt werden. Ferner kann durch Kombination
einer oder mehrerer Verbindungen der Erfindung mit anderen Pestiziden ein breiteres Wirkungsspektrum
erreicht werden. Als weitere pestizide Verbindungen kommen z. B. Organoborverbindungen, wie

(Wirkstoff Q) in Frage, welche die Wirkung der Verbindungen der Erfindung syr.ergetisch verstärken.
Zur Herstellung von Räuchermitteln werden im allgemeinen noch Terephthalsäure, Isophthalsäure
und 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-p-kresol (BHT) zugesetzt.
Pbenolderivate, Bisphenolderivate, Arylamine, wie Phenyl - η - naphthylamin, Phenyl - /ί - naphthylamin
oder ein Kondensationsprodukt aus Phenetidin und Aceton, werden als Stabilisatoren verwendet. Ferner
können noch andere insektizide oder mitizide Verbindungen, wie Padan und N,N-Dimethyl-N-(2-methyl
- 4 - chlorphenyl) - formamidin, antimikrobiell Verbindungen, Nematozide, Herbizide, Düngemittel
und andere landwirtschaftliche Chemikalien zugesetzt werden.

Zur Herstellung von Moskitowendeln werden die nachstehend in Tabelle Vl aufgeführten Verbindungen
in 20 ml Methanol felöst. Die Methanollösung wird mit 100 g eines Moskitowendelträgers, einem
Gemisch aus Tabupulver, Pyrethrummark und Sägemehl, im Gewichtsverhältnis 3:5:1 vermischt. Nach
dem Abdampfen des Methanols wird das Gemisch mit 150 ml Wasser verknetet, zu Moskitowendeln
stranggepreßt und getrocknet.

Die nachstehend in Tabelle VH aufgeführten Verbindungen werden in einem Lösungsmiltelgemisch
aus Xylol und raffiniertem Kerosin (1:1) zu 15 Teilen
einer Lösung gelöst. Die Lösung wird in eine Sprühdose abgefüllt. Nach dem Aufsetzen des Ventils
werden in die Sprühdose 85 Teile eines Treibmittels, z. B. ein Fluorchlorkohlenwasserstoff, monomeres
Vinylchlorid oder verflüssigtes Erdgas, eingefüllt. Man erhält Aerosolpräparale.

Zur Herstellung von Räuchermitteln werden die in Tabelle VIII aufgeführten Verbindungen in geeigneler
Menge in Chloroform gelöst. Die Chloroformlösung wird gleichmäßig auf einer Asbestplatte mit
den Abmessungen 2,5 cm χ 1,5 cm χ 0,3 mm adsorbiert.
Sodann wird auf diese Asbestplatte eine im behandelte
Asbestplatte mit den gleichen Abmessungen aufgelegt. Dieser Schichtstoff kann auf einer Heizplatte
erhitzt werden. Anstelle von Asbest können auch andere faserige Trägerstoffe, wie Karton, verwendet
werden.

(83), (86). (94). (103). (108) und (125) werden mit jeweils 5 Teilen Piperonylbutoxid vermischt und in
20 Teilen Aceton gelöst. Nach Zusatz von 94 Teilen Diatomeenerde einer Teilchengröße von etwa 50 Mikron
wird die Masse gründlich vermischt und das Aceton verdampft. Man erhält Streupulver.

10 Larven des Tabakwurms (Spodoptera lituna
Fabricius) im dritten Häutungsstadium werden in eine Glasschale mit hoher Seitenwand und einem
Durchmesser von 14 cm gegeben. 1 ml einer 200fach verdünnten wäßrigen Lösung der in den Beispielen
234 und 236 erhaltenen emulgierbaren Konzentrale wird auf die Larven gesprüht. Die behandelten Larven
werden dann in eine Glasschale überführt, in der ihnen Futter angeboten wird. 2 Tage nach der Behandlung
sind durch jede der untersuchten Verbindungen mehr als 80% der Larven abgelötet.
Auf einem Feld, auf dem Rettiche im 5- bis 6blätlrigem
Stadium wachsen, die mit grünen Pfirsichblattläusen (Myzus persicae Suiza) befallen sind, werden
mit einer 200fach verdünnten wäßrigen Lösung der in den Beispiele!: 234, 235 und 237 erhaltenen
emulgierbaren Konzentrate in einer Menge von 4241/0,404 ha besprüht 2 Tage nach der Behandlung
ist die Populationsdichte der PfirsichblattJäuse S auf mehr als Vip vermindert.
Ein Stück Sperrholz mit den Abmessungen ίο 15cm χ 15cm χ 0,4cm wird mit einer 200fach verdünnten
wäßrigen Lösung der in den Beispielen 234 und 235 erhaltenen emulgierbaren Konzentrate in
einer Menge von 50 ml/m2 während einer Stunde getränkt und anschließend getrocknet. Hierauf weris
den auf die Sperrholzplatte erwachsene Kakerlaken (Blattella germanica Linne) gesetzt Innerhalb 3 Tagen
sind mehr als 8ü% der Kakerlaken abgetötet.
Ein Feld mit reifen Auberginen, das mit Larven des Kartoffelkäfers (Epilachna sparsa orientalis Dieke)
befallen war, wird mit einer 200fach verdünnten wäßrigen Lösung der gemäß Beispiel 234 erhaltenen emulgierbaren
Konzentrate in einer Dosis von 4241 pro 0,404 ha gespritzt. 30 Minuten nach der Behandlung
sind 90% der Larven von den Pflanzen herabgefallen und bewegungsunfähig gemacht. 24 Stunden nach
der Behandlung sind nahezu 100% der Larven abgetötet.
45 Tage alte Reispflanzen werden in Wagnertöpfen gezogen und in einer Menge von 10 ml/Topf mit
einer 400fach verdünnten wäßrigen Lösung der im Beispiel 241 beschriebenen benetzbaren Pulver gespritzt.
Hierauf werden die Töpfe mit einem zylindrischen Drahtnetz bedeckt, unter dem etwa 20 Larven
von Blatthüpfern (Cicadula sexnotata) freigelassen werden. Einen Tag später sind mehr als 80%
der Larven abgetötet.
Die im Beispiel 245 erhaltenen Stäubemittel werden gleichmäßig auf den Boden von Petrischalen mit
einem Durchmesser von 14 cm in einer Menge von 2 g/m2 aufgebracht. Auf die Seitenwand wird Butter
bis zu einem Abstand von etwa 1 cm vom Boden aufgeschmiert.
10 erwachsene Kakerlaken werden in die Petrischale gegeben. Nach 30 Minuten werden die
Kakerlaken in eine frische Petrischale verbracht. In jedem Fall sind 3 Tage später mehr als 80% der
Kakerlaken abgetötet.
Die im Beispiel 238 hergestellten ölpräparate werden
in einem Drehtisch nach Campbel (vgl. Soap and Sanitary Chemicals, Bd. 14 [1938], Nr. 6,
S. 119) in einer Menge von 5 ml versprüht. 20 Sekunden
später wird die Schließvorrichtung geöffnet, und 100 erwachsene orientalische Stubenfliegen (Musca
domestica vicina Maquant) werden dem Nebel 10 Minuten ausgesetzt. Danach werden die Fliegen
in einen anderen Käfig verbracht, in welchem ihnen Futter angeboten wird. Nach 24 Stunden sind mehr
als 80% der Fliegen abgetötet.

Die insektizide Aktivität der gemäß Beispiel 243 hergestellten Aerosolpräparate gegenüber orientalischen
Stubenfliegen wird in einer Peet-Grady-Kammer (vgl. Soap and Chemical Specialities Bluebock
[1965]) untersucht. Innerhalb 15 Minuten nach der Behandlung sind mehr als XO% der Stubenfliegen
bewegungsunfähig gemacht, und 1 Tag nach "der Behandlung sind in jedem Fall mehr als 70% der
Stubenfliegen abgetötet.

Die gemäß Beispiel 240 hergestellten Ulpräparate
werden in einem würfelförmigen Glaskasten mit der Kantenlänge 70 cm, in welchem sich etwa 50 erwachsene
orientalische Stubenfliegen befinden, in einer Menge von 0,7 ml und unter einem Druck von
1,5 kg/cm2 versprüht. 10 Minuten später sind mehr als 80% der Fliegen bewegungsunfähig gemacht.
Etwa 50 erwachsene Stechmücken (Culex pipiens) werden in einem würfelförmigen Glaskasten mit der
Kantenlänge 70 cm freigelassen und mit den gemäß Beispiel 239 hergestellten Olpräparaten in einer
Menge von 0,7 ml und unter einem Druck von 1,5 kg cm2 besprüht. Innerhalb 10 Minuten sind mehr
als 80% der Stechmücken bewegungsunfähig gemach!
Ein Nylonnetz mit einer lichten Maschenweite von etwa 1 mm wird auf den unteren Teil eines Glas-Zylinders
mit einem Durchmesser von 20 cm und einer Höhe von 20 cm aufgelegt. Auf dem oberen
Teil des Glaszylinders wird Butter in einer Breite von etwa 3 cm aufgeschmiert. Sodann werden 20
erwachsene Kakerlaken in dem Glaszylinder freigelassen. Auf den Glaszylinder wird ein weiterer;
Glaszylinder der gleichen Größe und hierauf noch ein Glaszylinder mit einem Durchmesser von 20 cm
und einer Höhe von 40 cm gestellt. Jeweils 0,5 ml der gemäß Beispiel 240 hergestellten ölspritzmittel
wird vom oberen Zylinder unter einem Druck von 0,75 kg/cm2 versprüht. Danach wird der Glaszylinder
verschlossen und stehengelassen. Innerhalb 30 Minuten sind mehr als 90% der Kakerlaken bewegungsunfähig
gemacht, und 3 Tage nach der Behandlung sind mehr als 90% der Kakerlaken abgetötet.
Etwa 50 erwachsene Stechmücken (Culex pipiens) werden in einem würfelförmigen Glaskasten mit der
Kantenlänge 70 cm freigelassen. In die Mitte des Bodens des Glaskastens wird ein Moskitowendel
gemäß Beispiel 242 gelegt und an beiden Enden angezündet. Nach 20 Minuten sind mehr als 80%
der Stechmücken bewegungsunfähig gemacht.
Etwa 50 erwachsene Stechmücken (Culex pipiens) werden in einem würfelförmigen Glaskasten der
Kantenlänge 70 cm freigelassen. In dem Glaskasten wird auf eine elektrische Heizplatte eine gemäß Beispiel
244 hergestellte Asbesträucherplatte aufgelegt und erhitzt. Innerhalb 20 Minuten sind mehr als
90% der Stechmücken bewegungsunfähig gemacht.
In Tabelle IX ist die Toxizität typischer Verbindungen
der Erfindung bei Mäusen nach oraler Verabfolgung zusammengefaßt.
