Die Erfindung "betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von
halogenierten Organo zinnverbindungen.
Halogenierte Organozinnverbindungen sind wichtige Zwischenstoffe. Beispielsweise können sie nach einer bekannten Verfahrensweise
unter Bildung der entsprechenden Organo zinnoxide hydrolysiert werden, aus welchen verschiedene Stabilisatoren,
insbesondere für Polyvinylchlorid, hergestellt werden,

Es ist eine ganz® Anzahl von Arbeitsweisen zur Herstellung
von halogenierten Alkylzianverbindiangen bekanfc, za B. die
Grignard-Methode, die !farts-Methode usw. Unter diesen- bekannten
Arbeitsweisen sind diejenigen am bequemsten und wirtschaftlich vorteilhaftesten,, bei denen halogenierte
Verbindungen direkt mit metallischem Zinn umgesetzt werden»
Arbeitsweisen zur Herstellung von halogenierten Alkylzinnverbindungen,
bei de.nen Alkyljodiae als Alkylierungsmittel
verwendet werden, wurden bereits im industriellen Maßstab durchgeführt·
Ba diese Verfahrensweise jedoch die Verwendung von teuren Alkyljodiden erfordert, ist die Gewinnung von Jod wirtschaftlich
unerläßliche Barüberhinaus betragen die Ausbeuten von Alkylzinnjodiden mit einem langkettigen Alkylrest mit
mehr als 8 Kohlenstoffatomen im besten Falle etwa 80 %,
Aus den oben angegebenen Gründen besteht das Bedürfnis nach einem verbesserten Verfahren, bei welchem die gewünschten
Produkte in einer hohen Ausbeute unter Verwendung der billigen Chloride als Alkylierungsmittel erhalten werden können..
Bei den Reaktionen der entsprechenden Bromide oder Chloride mit metallischem Zinn sind jedoch viele Verbindungen, welche
als wirksame Katalysatoren bei einer direkten Reaktion von Alkyljodiden mit metallischem Zinn angesehen wurden, praktisch
ohne Wirkung, so daß die Reaktionen äußerst langsam voranschreiten und die Umwandlungsrate von metallischem Zinn
in die Organozinnverbindung insbesondere bei der Verwendung
von Chloriden sehr langsam ist, mit Ausnahme einiger sehr
weniger, aktivierter Chloride, wie z, B. Benzylchlorid·

Aufgrund umfangreicher Untersuchungen zum Auffinden eines neuen Verfahrens wurde überraschenderweise^ gefunden, daß
die gewünschten Produkte selbst bei Verwendung von Chloriden oder Bromiden als Alkylierungsmittel in einer derart kurzen
Zeitspanne und einer solch hohen Ausbeute, wie sie aufgrund des allgemeinen Fachwissens nicht erwartet werden konnte,
erhalten werden können, indem zu dem Eeaktions system eine stickstoffhaltige Phosphorverbindung oder ein Gemisch von
Phosphorverbindungen und Ami,nverbindungen und zusätzlich
dazu eine kleine Menge wenigstens einer der Substanzen Brom, Jod oder Verbindungen hiervon hinzugegeben werden.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zur Herstellung von halo genierten Organozinnverbindungen der folgenden allgemeinen Formel
worin S ein geradkettiger oder verzweigter Alkylrest, ein
Cycloalkylrest, ein substituierter oder nicht substituierter
Arylrest, ein Aralkylrest oder Alkenylrest ist, X ein Ghlor- oder Bromatom bedeutet und m eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3 ist,
zeichnet sich dadurch aus, daß ein organischen Halogenid der Formel
HZ
worin H und X die oben angegebene Bedeutung besitzen, mit
metallischem Zinn in Anwesenheit eines Gemisches aus einer Phosphorverbindung mit einer Aminverbindung oder einer Phosphorverbindung
mit wenigstens einem Stickstoffatom im Molekül und in Anwesenheit wenigstens einer der Substanzen Brom,
einer Bromverbindung, Jod oder einer Jodverbindung umgesetzt wird·
In der Beschreibung ist unter dem Ausdruck "Alkylrest" ein

Alkylrest mit 1 "bis 18 Kohlenstoff atomen zu verstehen,
■unter "Arylrest" ein nicht substituierter Phenylrest oder

Verbindungen, welche bei der Reaktionstemperatur zum Entwickeln von Brom oder Jod in der Lage sind·
Als Beispiele für ein organisches Halogenid, welches bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren verwendet werden kann, seien fol
gende Verbindungen aufgeführts Chloride und Bromide mit einem
Methyl-, Äthyl», Propyl-, Butyl-, Hexyl-, Octyl-,
Lauryl-, 2-Ä thylhexyl-, n-Dodecyl-, Cyclohexyl-, Benzyl-,
Phenyl- und Arylrest, Das bei des. erfindungsgemäße Verfahren
verwendete metallische Zinn kann in einer beliebigen Form, z· B. als Pulver, Folie als Granulen eingesetzt werden.
Die Menge des bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren verwendeten,
organischen Halogenide "beträgt/T, 5- "bis 5-fache Molverhältnis,
bezogen auf metallisches ZiBn3 und vorzugsweise
das 2- bis 3-fache, Die Reaktion wird bei 130 0O bis 230 0G
während 3 bis 20 Stunden durchgeführt. Hiernach ist die Reaktion abgeschlossen, wobei sieh die ümwandungsrate des
Zinn auf etwa 100 % belaufte Die Menge der hinzuzugebenden Verbindungen wird in geeigneter Weise in Abhängigkeit von
den gewünschten Produkten festgelegt, und die Aminverbindung und die Phosphorverbindung oder die stickstoff enthaltende
Phosphorverbindung werden jeweils in einer Menge von 0,001 g bis 1,5 g pro 1 g Zinn und das Brom, Jod oder die Verbindungen
hiervon jeweils in einer Menge von 0,0001 g bis 1 g pro 1 g des Zinns eingesetzt.
Wenn beispielsweise das Halogen in dem ox^ganischen Halogenid
Chlor ist, liegen die Aminverbindung und die Phosphorverbin-

dung oder die stickstoff enthaltende Phosphorverbindung jeweils
vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 0,05 "bis 1 g pro 1 g des Zinns und das Brom, das Jod oder die Verbindungen hiervon
jeweils vorzugsweise in einer Menge von 0,001 bis 0,2 g pro 1 g des Zinns vore
Durch das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren ist es möglich geworden, insbesondere n-Octylzinnchloride, welche zur Herstellung
eines Stabilisators für die Verpackungsindustrie infolge ihrer niedrigen Toxizität besonders vorteilhaft verwendet
werden können, selbst unter Normaldruck unter Anwendung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens herzustellen, Darüberhinaus
ermöglicht die Anwendung dieses Verfahrens wahlweise eine der Mono-, Di- oder Tri-alkylzinnverbindungen in relativ
großer Menge durch Veränderung der Menge an Phosphorverbindungen und derjenigen der organischen Lösungsmittel
zu erhalten.
Die organischen Lösungsmittel, welche bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren angewandt werden,, besitzen ferner die
Funktion als Alkylierungskatalysator, wie dies in den folgenden Beispielen noch gezeigt wird« Daher ist ihre Verwendung
vorteilhaft. Ein Reaktionssystem, bei welchem organische Lösungsmittel alleine und keine Phosphorverbindungen
verwendet werden, besitzt den Nachteil, daß eine Reaktion mit dem Zinn praktisch nicht auftritt. Brom,
Jod oder die Verbindung hiervon sind insbesondere als Initiator für die Reaktion mit dem Zinn wirksam.
Die Phosphorverbindungen und die Aminverbindungen gemäß
dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren zeigen keine so hohe
katalytisch^ Wirkung, wenn sie getrennt verwendet werden,
dagegen zeigen sie einen extrem hohen, synergistischen Effekt, wenn sie in Kombination verwendet werden, und Brom, Jod
und die Verbindungen hiervon sind insbesondere als Initiator

der Reaktion mit dem Zinn v/irksam· Daher ist es bei vielen irgendeiner der oben genannten drei Komponenten nicht möglich,
daß die Reaktion vollständig abläuft» Andererseits läuft die Reaktion ohne neuerliche Zugabe von Broms Jod
oder Verbindungen hiervon als dritter Komponente leicht ab, wenn ein organisches halogenid der Formel RX verwendet wirds
worin X Brom ist, oder wenn eine Phosphorverbindung und/oder Aminverbindung verwendet wird, welche in ihren Molekülen
ein während der Reaktion abspaltbares Brom- oder Jodatom aufweisen, das dann in das Reaktionssystem eintritt·
Die Erfindung wird anhand der folgenden Beispiele näher erläutert.
30 g Zinnfolie, 94-$2 g n-Octylchlorid, 25 g Hexamethylphosphoramid,
25 g n-0ctanol und 2 g Joά wurden in einen
500 ml Vierhalskolben eingefüllt, der mit einem Rührer, einen Rückflußkühler und einem !Thermometer ausgerüstet
war. Es wurde während vier Stunden unter Rückfluß auf 170 ° bis 185 0G erwärmt. Danach war die Sinnfolie zu
100 % umgesetzt, wobei ein gelbes, klares Reaktionsgemisch erhalten wurde· Das Gemisch wurde unter vermindertem \
Druck zur Gewinnung von n-OctylChlorid, n-Octanol und
Hexamethylphosphoramid, welche im Überfluß vorlagen, destilliert
und unter Rühren auf 90 0G bis 100 ?.Q während 30 Minuten
unter Zugabe von 100 ml konz. Salzsäure erwärmt. Dann wurde die entstandene Salzsäureschicht abgetrennt, um
die anorganischen Zinnverbindungen hieraus zu entfernen. Das Gemisch der so erhaltenen Octylzinnchloride wurde
nach einem bekannten chemischen Trennverfahren aufgetrennt, wobei 45,5 % OctylzinntriChlorid, 32,6 % Dioctylzinndichlorid
und 11,2 % Trioctyl zinnchlor id erhalten wurden. Die Gesamtausbeute aus diesen drei Verbindungen belief sich
auf 94-,8 %, bezogen auf das eingesetzte, metallische Zinn.

Bei der Durchführung der oben beschriebenen Heak-tion ohne
Zugabe von Hexamethylphosphoramid oder Jod zeigt' das metallische
Zinn überhaupt keine Veränderung, selbst wenn es 20 Stunden auf 180 0C erhitzt wurde β Jails keine Zugabe von
n-Qctylalkohol erfolgte, erreichte die Umwandlungsrate
der Zinnreaktion alleine 100 %9 jedoch wurden nur 0 %,
2113 % bzw. 27»7 % des eingesetzten, metallischen Zinns zur
Herstellung von Monooctylzinntrichlorid9 Dioctylzinndichlorid
bzwo Srioctylzinnchlorid verbraucht, wobei die
Ge samt ausbeute lediglich 4-9,0 % betrug«
30 g Zinnfolies 94,2 g n-Qctylchlorid, 835 g Hexamethylphosphoramid,
50 g n-Öctanol und 2 g Jod wurden in dieselbe
Vorrichtung, wie sie in Beispiel 1 verwendet xrorden
wars eingefüllt, unter Hückfluß 10 Stunden auf 180 °0 bis
185 °G erwärmt, wobei 100 % der Zinnfolie umgesetzt wurden.
Nach derselben, in Beispiel 1 beschriebenen Arbeitsweise wurden MonoοctylsinntriChlorid9 BioctylsinndiChlorid und
Trioctylzinnchlorid in Ausbeuten von 6995 %9 20$0 % und 6,3 %
mit einer Gesamtausbeute von 95s8 % erhaltene
30 g Zinnfolie j 9&»2 g n-Octylchlorid, 295 g Hexamethylphosphoramid,
5 g n-0ctanol und 2 g Jod wurden in dieselbe Vorrichtung, wie sie in Beispiel 1 verwendet worden war, eingefüllt,
unter Rückfluß auf 180 0C bis 190 0C während 4· Stunden
erhitzt, wobei sich 100 % der Zinnfolie umgesetzt hatten. Nach derselben Arbeitsweise, wie sie in Beispiel 1 angegeben
ist, wurden Monooctylzinntrichlorid, Dioctylzinndichlorid und Trioctylzinnchlorid in Ausbeuten von 10,0 %, 35»5 % bzw·
5112 % mit einer Gesamtausbeute von 96,7 % erhalten*

Ein Gemisch von 29,7 g Zinnfolie, 69,4 g n-Butylchlorid,
2,7 6 Jod, 2,3 S ffris-(diäthylami.no)-phosphoroxLd und
6 g niButanol wurde 5 Stunden auf 165 0C bis 169 0O erhitzt,
wobei n-ButylzinntriChlorid, Dibutyl zinndichlorid
und Tributylzinnchlorid in Ausbeuten von 11 %, 71 % bzw.
15 % und einer Gesamtausbeute von 97 % erhalten wurden,
während die Gesamtausbeute ohne Zugabe von n-Butanol lediglich
79 % betrug.
Die Produkte und deren Ausbeuten, welche durch Umsetzung von JO g Zinnfolie mit den anderen in ihren Mengen in der
Tabelle I aufgeführten Substanzen bei 180 0O bis 190 0O
erhalten wurden, sind in dieser Tabelle zusammengestellt.
Die Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel E SnXy, , worin
m gleich 4- ist, konnten in keinem der Beispiele erhalten werden.

30 g Zinnfolie, 95 S n-Octylchlorid, 20 g Triphenylphosphat,
20 g n-Tributylamin und 2 g Jod wurden in einen 500 ml
Vierhalskolben eingefüllt, der mit einem Rührer, einem Rückflußkühler
und einem Thermometer versehen war. Sie wurden 3 Stunden auf 185 0C bis 190 0C unter Rückfluß erwärmt, danach
hatte sich die Zinnfolie zu 100 % unter Bildung eines gelben, klaren Reaktionsgemisches umgesetzte Das Gemisch
wurde nach einem bekannten chemischen Reinigungsverfahren weiterbehandelt, wobei Octylzinntrichlorid, Dioctylzinndichlorid
und Trioctylzinnchlorid in Ausbeuten von 21,0 %,
55»0 % bzw· 15»0 % erhalten wurden«, Die Gesamtausbeute dieser
drei Octylzinnchloride belief sich auf 91»0 %, bezogen
auf das eingesetzte, metallische Zinn.
Pur Yergleichszwecke wurde die Reaktion unter Rückfluß bei
185 0G bis 189 °G während 10 Stunden nach der oben beschriebenen
Arbeitsweise, jedoch mit der Ausnahme wiederholt, daß Triphenylphosphat nicht hinzugegeben wurde. Das Ergebnis war,
daß die Umwandlungsrate des metallischen Zinns lediglich 23 % betrug,und daß die Ausbeuten von Octylzinntrichlorid,
Dioctylzinndichlorid und Trioctylzinnchlorid 13,0 %, 5,5 %
bzw. 1,6 % betrugen, wobei die Gesamtausbeute an Octylzinnchloriden
sich lediglich auf 20,1 %t bezogen auf das eingesetzte,
metallische Zinn, belief.
In derselben Weise, wie in Beispiel 42 beschrieben, wurde mit der Ausnahme, daß zusätzlich 25 g n-Octylalkohol hinzugesetzt
wurden, die Reaktion unter Rückfluß bei 184 0C bis
186 0C während 4 Stunden durchgeführt. Als Ergebnis ergab sich
eine Umwandlungsrate von metallischem Zinn von 100 % und Ausbeuten
an Octylzinntrichlorid, Dioctylzinndichlorid und Tri-

octylzinnchlorid von 75,6 %, 18,0 % bzw· 1,5 % bei einer Gesamtausbeute
an Octylzinnchloriden von 95,1 %, bezogen auf .das
eingesetzte, metallische Zinn» Aus diesem Ergebnis ist ersichtlich,
daß im Vergleich mit dem Ergebnis des Beispiels 42 die Ausbeute an Octylzinntrichlorid sehr erhöht und die Gesamtausbeute
an Octylzinnchloriden ebenfalls etwas erhöht sind.
In derselben Weise, wie in Beispiel 42 beschrieben, jedoch mit der Ausnahme, daß 5 g Methoxybutylacetat zusätzlich hinzugegeben
wurden, wurde die Reaktion unter Rückfluß bei 184 0C bis
188 0C während 4 Stunden durchgeführt. Als Ergebnis wurde eine
Umwandlungsrate von metallischem Zinn von 100 % erhalten, wobei die Ausbeuten an Octylzinntrichlorid, Dioctylzinndichlorid
und Trioctylzinnchlorid 13,0 %, 71,0 %, bzw. 11,0 % betrugen
und die Gesamt ausbeute an Octylzinnchloriden sich auf 95,0 % belief. Aus diesem Ergebnis ist ersichtlich, daß die Ausbeute
an Dioctylzinndichlorid im Vergleich zum Ergebnis des Beispiels 42 und des Beispiels 43 sehr stark erhöht ist.
Die Ergebnisse der Beispiele 45 bis 92, welche entsprechend
den Arbeitsbedingungen der oben angegebenen Beispiele durchgeführt wurden, sind in den Tabellen II und III zusammengestellt.
Hierbei wurde in allen Fällen-das metallische Zinn als Zinnfolie in einer Menge von 30 g eingesetzt. Verbindungen
der allgemeinen lormel ^^^..τη» ^n äenen m gleich 4 ist,
konnten in keinem der Beispiele erhalten werden.

Claims (1)
- Patentansprüche,Verfahren zur Herstellung von halogenierten Organozinnverbindungen der folgenden allgemeinen FormelH11 SnX. m m 4-mworin R ein geradkettiger oder verzweigter Alkylrest, ein Cycloalkylrest, ein substituierter oder nicht-substituierter Arylrest, ein Aralkylrest oder ein Alkenylrest ist, X ein Chlor- oder Bromatom bedeutet und m eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 3 ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein organisches Halogenid der FormelEXworin E und X die oben angegebene Bedeutung besitzen, mit metallischem Zinn in Anwesenheit eines Gemisches aus einer Phosphorverbindung mit einer Aminverbindung oder einer Phosphorverbindung mit wenigstens einem Stickstoffatom im Molekül und in Anwesenheit wenigstens einer der Substanzen Brom, einer Bromverbindung, Jod oder einer Jodverbindung umgesetzt wird.Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Reaktion in einem organischen Lösungsmittel durchgeführt wird»3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Reaktion bei einer Temperatur von 130 0G bis 230 0C während 3 bis 20 Stunden durchgeführt wird.4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das organische Halogenid in einer Menge von 1,5 bis 5 Mol pro Mol metallischem Zinn verwendet wird.3G9846/15. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß wenigstens eine der Substanzen Brom, einer Bromverbindung, Jod oder einer Jodverbindung in einer Menge von wenigstens 0,01 Gewo-9o, bezogen auf die Menge des metallischen Zinns, verwendet wird,8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Phosphorverbindungen Phosphine und Halogenphosphine insbesondere Triäthylphosphin, iürinonylphenylphosphin, Triphenylphosphin, Iributylphosphin, Dibutylbromphosphin, Diphenylchlorphosphin und Dibutylphosphin; Phosphate, Halogenphosphate und Thiophosphate, insbesondere Triäthylphosphat, Diphenylchlorphosphat, Triphenylphosphat, Tributylphosphat, Diäthylphosphat und Triäthylthiophosphat; Phosphite und Halogenphosphite, insbesondere Triäthylphosphit, Iriphenylphosphit, Tributylphosphit, Diäthylphosphit und n^-Butyldichlorphosphit; Phosphoniumsalze, insbesondere Tetraäthylphosphoniumjodid und Tetraäthylphosphoniumchlorid; Phosphinoxide und Phosphinsulfide, insbesondere Iributylphosphinoxid und Tributylphosphinsulfid; Stickstoff-enthaltende Phosphorverbindungen, insbesondere Phosphorsäureamide und Amide der phosphorigen Säure und insbesondere Hexamethylphosphoramid, Tris-(di-n-butylamino)phosphin, Diisopropyldimethylaminomethylphosphonat, Diäthyl-bis-(2-hydroxyäthyl)-aminomethyl-309846/1 U7phosphonat, Tris-dimethylamlnophosphinsulfid, DimethylphosphoramiddiChlorid, Tris-(3-a,Tninophenyl)phosphinoxid und Phosphortrimorpholid; oder anorganische Phosphorverbindungen, insbesondere Phosphoroxytrichlorid, Phosphortribromid, Phosphortrichlorid, Polyphosphorsäure oder Ammoniumpolyphosphat, verwendet werden.9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Amine tertiäre Amine, insbesondere Triäthylamin, Tributylamin, Triphenylamin oder Dirnethylanilin; sekundäre Amine, insbesondere Diäthylamin, Dibutylamin, Diphenylamin, Dibenzylamin, Monomethylanilin, Phenyl-alpha-naphthylamin oder ΪΓ,ΙΤ1-Diphenyl-p-phenylendiamin; primäre Amine, insbesondere n-Butylamin, Äthylendiamin, Benzylamin oder Anilin; organische und anorganische, quarternäre Ammoniumsalze, insbesondere Triäthylbutylammoniumjodid, fTriäthylammoniumbromid, Ammoniumbromid oder Ammoniumjodid; heterocyclische Verbindungen, insbesondere Pyridin, Piperidin, Morpholin oder Pyrrol; Säureamide, Guanidinverbindungen, Thiazolverbindungen, Imidazolinverbindungen, Imidazolverbindungen, Verbindungen der.Dithiocarbaminsäure oder Ghinolinverbindungen, insbesondere Ν,Ν-Dimethylformamid, N-Methylpyrrolidon, Diphenylguanidin, o-Tolylbiguanid, Dibenzothiazyldisulfid, N-Oxydiäthylen-2-benzothiazolsulfenamid, N-Oyclohexyl-2-benzothiazolsulfenamld, 2-Mercaptoimidazolin, Mercaptobenzoimidazol, Mercaptobenzoimidazolzinksalz, Tetraäthylthiuramdisulfid, Tetramethylthiurammonosulfid, das Tellursalz der Diäthyldithiocarbaminsäure, Ohinolin, 6-Ä.thoxy-2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydrochinolin oder Hexamethylentetramin verwendet werden,10. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Stickstoff enthaltende Phosphorverbindungen Hexabutylphosphoramid, Tris-dimethylaminophosphinsulfid, Dimethylami.nodibromphosphin,309846/1U7Hexamethylphosphoramid, Ietramethylpho sphordi amidchlorid, Dimethylpho sphoramiddichlorid, Octamethylpyropho sphor amid, Tris-( di-n-butylamino )pho sphin, Tri s( 3-aminophenyl)pho sphinoxid, Diäthyl-lDis-(2-hydroxyäthyl)aminometliylp]iosp3ionat, Diisopropyldimethylaminomethylphosphonat, .Phosphortrimorpholid, ρ .Tritutylaminophosphoniumchlorid, Diäthylaiianodichlorphospnin, PhOSPhQr(III)-CyRnJn, o-Äthyl-p-phenylpho sphor ami, d, o-Äthyl-NjH-diäthyl-p-methylphosphoramidthioat, Phosphortriamid, Oyanomethyltriphenylphosphoniumbromid, p,p,p-(iEriphenyl)-phosphinimid, p-Nitrobenzylidentriphenylphosphoran, Tris-(phenylcarbamoyl)phosphin, Diäthylcyanomethylphosphonat, p-Nitro· phenylphosphordichloridat, Di-n-butylaminodichlorpho sphin, Phosphortripiperididphosphin oder Äthyl-N,N-diäthyl-p-methylphosphoramidat verwendet werden·11.
