"N-substituierte ß-Aminoäthylsilane"
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind N-substituierte ß-Aminoäthylsilane
und die. Verwendung dieser Verbindungen als Haftvermittler oder zum Schutz von anorganischen Oxiden oder
metallischen Oberflächen.
Aus der deutschen Patentschrift 1 152 695 sind N-(Aminoalkyl)-aminoalkylsiliciumverbindungen
bekannt, bei denen die mit dem Si-Atom verknüpfte Alkylgruppe mindestens drei C-Atome in der
Kette besitzen soll. N-substituierte ß-Aminosilane, bei denen
zwischen dem Si-Atom und dem Stickstoffatom nur zwei C-Atome in der Kette vorhanden sind, werden in dieser Patentschrift
deshalb nicht erwähnt, weil bei Organosiliciumverbindungen mit einem funktionellen Restj der von dem Si-Atom nur durch zwei C-Atorae
getrennt ist, der an sich bekannte ß-Zerfall eintritt.
Dieser ß-Zerfall zeigt sich deutlich bei der Umsetzung von ß-Chloräthylsilan
mit Ammoniak, die theoretisch zum entsprechenden ß-Aniinoäthylsilan führen müßte. Unter Abspaltung von Chlorwasserstoff
bildet sich Jedoch die entsprechende Vinylverbindung

Daneben entstehen noch andere olefinische Verbindungen und niedere
Silane.
Man nahm deshalb auch immer an, daß bei der Umsetzung von Aminen
oder anderen Substitutionsprodukten des Ammoniaks mit ß-Chloräthylsilanen
eine analoge Reaktion eintreten müßte, und daß solche N-substituierten ß-Aminoäthylsilane instabil seien.
Es wurde nun überraschenderweise gefunden, daß man N-substituierte
ß-Aminoäthylsilane und -siloxane der allgemeinen Formeln

wobei η eine ganze Zahl zwischen 0 und 3 und b gleich 0 oder 1
ist und Z1 für eine, gegebenenfalls substituierte, Alkyl-,
Cycloalkyl-, Aryl-, Carboxyl-, Sulionsäure- oder Estergruppe steht, Zp gleich Z1 oder Wasserstoff sein kann, R für Wasserstoff
und/oder einen Alkylrest mit 1 bis k C-Atomen steht, R1
ein Alkylrest mit 1 bis 8 C-Atomen oder ein Arylrest und R" ein

Alkyl- oder Alkoxyalkylrest mit 1 bis 8 C-Atomen ist, auf an sich bekannte Weise herstellen kann, und daß diese Verbindungen
unter Normalbedingungen stabile Verbindungen sind.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind also N-substituierte
ß-Aminoäthylsilane und -siloxane der obengenannten Formeln.
Die Herstellung dieser Verbindungen erfolgt auf an sich bekannte Weise. Die einfachste Darstellung erfolgt durch Umsetzung von
ß-Chloräthylsilanen bzw. -siloxanen der allgemeinen Formeln
Cl-CR2-CR2-Si-(OR")- und

wobei n, b und die Reste R, R1 und R" die obengenannte Bedeutung
haben, mit einem Derivat des Ammoniaks. In der am Si-Atom befindlichen CR2-Gruppe kann R gegebenenfalls auch ein Halogenatom
sein, wenn diese Verbindungen mit primären oder sekundären Aminen umgesetzt v/erden. Man erhält dann zusätzlich noch eine
Substitution in der oi-Stellung durch eine Aminogruppe.
Das Ammoniakderivat'kann ein primäres, sekundäres oder tertiäres,
aliphatisches, aromatisches, gemischt aliphatisch-aromatisches oder ein cyclisches Amin sein, dessen Alkyl- oder Arylrest durch
funktionelle Gruppen wie Halogene, Hydroxylgruppen, Estergruppen, Äthergruppen oder einen Aminorest substituiert sein kann. Der Alkylrest
kann bis zu 18 C-Atomen besitzen und gesättigt oder ungesättigt und der Arylrest ein ein- oder zweikerniger Rest sein.

Als Beispiele für solche Amine seinen genannt: Methylamin, Dime
thylamin, Äthylamin, Diäthylamin, Di-n-propylamin, n-Hexylamin,
Laurylamin, Äthylendiamin, Trimethylendiamin, Hexamethylendiamin, Äthanolamin, Diäthanolamin, Allylamin, 1-Penten-5-amin,
Anilin, o- und p-Chloranilin, p-Aminotoluol, Aminophenol,
Aminoanisol, Methacryloxypropylamin, Acetyloxyäthylamin, Äthoxyäthylamih,
Pyrrol, 2-Methylpyrrol, 2-Äthylpyrrol, Pyrrolidin,
Pyrazol, Imidazol, Indol, Indazol, 3,5-Dirnethylpyrazol
u.a.m.
Die ß-Chloräthylsilane bzw. -siloxane können aber auch mit Carbonsäureamiden
oder Sulfonsäureamiden zu den erfindungsgemäßen substituierten ß-Aminoäthylsilanen umgesetzt werden. Der Säurerest
kann dabei sowohl ein aliphatischer Rest mit 1 bis 8 C-Atomen oder ein aromatischer Rest sein. Beispiele für solche
Säureamide sind Harnstoff, Acetamid, Propionsäureamid, Capramid, Caprylamid, «-Chlorpropionamid, Benzamid, p-Methoxybenzamid,
Toluoamid, Chlorbenzamid, Salicylamid, Benzanilid, Phthalimid, Phenylacetamid, Vinylacetaraid, Benzosulfonamid.
Im allgemeinen erfolgt die Umsetzung des ß-Chloräthylsilanes
bzw. -siloxanes mit dem entsprechenden Ammoniakderivat bei
Temperaturen zwischen 20 und 1500C unter Abspaltung von KCl,
die durch überschüssiges Amin oder Amid gebunden wird. Man arbeitet
vorteilhaft mit einem Überschuß an dem Acunoniakderivat,
gegebenenfalls unter Überdruck, besonders wenn die als Ausgangsprodukte eingesetzten Derivate des Ammoniaks gasförmige oder
niedrigsiedende Verbindungen sind. Bei der Umsetzung entstehen

auch in untergeordneten Mengen, besonders wenn der Überschuß an Aminen oder Amiden gering ist und primäre Amine eingesetzt
werden, die entsprechenden bis-tert.-Aminoderivate der erfindungsgemäßen Silane.
Die N-substituierten ß-Aminoäthylsilane und -siloxane gemäß der
vorliegenden Erfindung finden in den gleichen Anwendungsgebieten Verwendung wie die entsprechenden (j-Amino alkylsilane, z.B.
^Aminopropyltriäthoxisilan. Insbesondere lassen sie sich, als
Haftvermittler und/oder als Schutzüberzüge für anorganisch oxidische oder metallische Oberflächen einsetzen.
Beim Einsatz als Haftvermittelr wird die Haftung von Polymeren,
besonders von Phenol- und Harnstoffharzen, Epoxid- oder Urethanharzen,
Polyolefinen und natürlichen oder synthetischen Kautschuktypen mit anorganischen Oxiden oder Mischoxiden, wie z.B.
in Sanden, Quarz, Glas in seinen verschiedenen Verarbeitungsformen, Titandioxid, Diatomeenerde oder Eisenoxid verbessert. Dabei
kann das Silan entweder als solches oder in einem geeigneten Lösungsmittel gelöst, sowohl auf die öxidische Oberfläche
in bekannter Weise, z.B. durch Sprühen, Spritzen oder Tauchen, aufgebracht werden oder aber mit dem Polymeren vermischt werden,
wobei anschließend das Polymere und die anorganischen Oxide miteinander in an sich bekannter Weise verbunden werden.
Die Verwendung der N~substituierten ß-Aminoäthylsilane als
Schutzüberzüge für die genannten Oberflächen oder zum Schutz von metallischen Oberflächen umfassen sowohl die Verwendung

als Grundierungsmittel für Metalle oder Formkörpern aus Metallen
als auch die Verwendung als Korrosionsinhibitoren. Auch
für diese Verwendungszwecke können die erfindungsgeraäßen Silane sowohl als solche als auch verdünnt in Lösungen in geeigneten organischen Lösungsmitteln eingesetzt werden.

In einem 2-Liter-Dreihalskolben, der mit einem Rückflußkühler,
einem Rührer und einem Thermometer ausgestattet ist, wird eine Mischung aus 3 Molen Äthylendiamin und 1 Mol ß-Chloräthyltrimethoxisilan
eingegeben. Unter Rühren wird die Mischung auf 45°C aufgeheizt und nach Anspringen der Reaktion die Heizung
entfernt. Die Temperatur der Flüssigkeit steigt im Verlauf von 10 Minuten bis auf 9O0C an, dabei tritt eine Trennung in 2 Phasen
ein. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird anschließend noch 2 Stunden bei 800C gehalten. Nach Erkalten wird die obere der beiden Phasen
abgezogen und in einer Vigreux-Kolonne der Destillation unterworfen.
Nach Abtrennung überschüssigen Äthylendiamins bei .
Normaldruck wird die Destillation unter Vakuum fortgesetzt und bei einem Druck von 1 Torr bei einer Kopftemperatur von 690C
bis 73°C eine Fraktion erhalten, die einen Brechungsindex von n20 = 1*^00 besitzt und durch Elementaranalyse, Molekulargewicht, Neutralisationsäquivalent und J-R-Spektrum als N-(ß-Aminoäthyl)-ß-Aminoäthyltrimethoxisilan
[NH2-CH2-CH2-NH-CH2-CH2-Si(OCH3)J identifiziert wird.

Die Ausbeute an diesem Produkt, bezogen auf Einsatzmenge ß-Chloräthyltrimethoxisllan,
beträgt 55 %. · ■
In einem Dreihalskolben, ausgestattet mit Rückflußkühler, Rührer und Tropf trichter, v/erden 4 Mole Anilin vorgelegt und auf 900C
erhitzt. Anschließend wird im Verlauf von 4 Stunden 1 Mol ß-

Chloräthyltrimethoxisilan unter Rühren zugetropft. Die Reaktionsmischung
wird 2 Stunden bei 900C nachgerührt. Nach Erkalten vird die obere der beiden Phasen einer Vakuumdestillation unterworfen.
Zwischen 145 und 16O0C geht bei 1 Torr eine Fraktion über, die
aufgrund des J-R-Spektrums, des Neutralisationsäquivalentes, der Elementaranalyse und des Molekulargewichtes als N-Phenylß-Aminoäthyltrimethoxisilan
indentifiziert wird.
Die Ausbeute beträgt 43 %·
In der in Beispiel 2 beschriebenen Apparatur wird 1 Mol Acetamid, gelöst in 300 ml Toluol, zusammen mit 1 Mol Äthyldicyclohexylamin
vorgelegt und bei 1000C wird 1 Mol ß-Chloräthyltrimethoxisilan
im Verlauf 1 Stunde zugetropft. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wird noch eine 1/2 Stunde nachgeheizt, daraufhin erkalten
gelassen, der ausgefallene Salzanteil abgenutscht und die flüssige Phase destillativ im Vakuum aufgearbeitet.
Bei 0,5 Torr geht zwischen 85 und 950C eine Fraktion über, die
aus N~Acetyl~ß-Aininoäthyltrimethoxisilan besteht (J-R-Spektrura,
Molekulargewicht, Elementaranalyse).
In einem mit Rührwerk, Vigreux-Kolonne, Kolonnenkopf und Tropf trichter
ausgerüsteten 2-Liter-Dreihalskolben wird 1 Mol ß-Chioräthyl-

trimethoxisilan zusammen mit 300 ml Toluol vorgelegt. Die Temperatur
des Kolbeninhaltes wird auf 700C eingestellt und daraufhin
werden im Verlauf von 2 Stunden 27 g Wasser zugetropft. Gleichzeitig werden über die Kolonne äquivalente Mengen an Methanol
aus dem Reaktionsgemisch entfernt. Die Supftemperatur wird gegen Ende der Wasserzugabe auf 10O0C gesteigert, die
Kopftemperatur bei 680C gehalten.
Nach Entfernung von 96 g Methanol wird im Vakuum das Toluol abdestilliert
und ein öliges Produkt erhalten, das einen Brechungsindex von npQ = 1,401 und eine Viskosität von 150 cSt
bei 200C besitzt.
Die Elementaranalyse ergibt folgende Werte:

Das aus der Hydrolyse von 1 Mol ^Chloräthyltrimethoxisilan erhaltene
Siloxan wird in einem Autoklaven unter Zugabe von 7 Molen Äthylendiamin und 300 ml Toluol 20 Stunden bei 800C umgesetzt.
Nach Abkühlung wird der Autoklav entleert und die flüssige Phase von dem abgesetzten Äthylendiaminhydrochlorid dekantiert.
Im Vakuum wird das Äthylendiamin und Toluol entfernt. Es

bleibt ein öliges Produkt zurück, dessen Brechungsindex zu n20 = 1>5°1 und dessen Viskosität zu 1800 cSt gemessen wird.
Die Elementaranalyse erbringt folgende Werte:

Ein Glasfaserbündel wird in bekannter Weise durch Hitzebehandlung entschlichtet und nach dem Abkühlen in eine Imprägnierlösung
gegeben, die zu 59 Gewichtstellen aus Wasser, zu 39 Gewichtsteilen aus Methanol und zu 2 Gewichtsteilen aus N-(ß-Aminoäthyl)-ß-Aminoäthyltrimethoxisilan
besteht. Das Faserbündel wird anschließend im Luftstrom getrocknet, mit einem handelsüblichen
Epoxidharz getränkt, zu einem Stab verarbeitet (0 8 mm, Glasgehalt ca. 52 Gewichtsprozent) und einer 2 1/2stündigen Wärmebehandlung
bei 135 C unterworfen.
Zur Kontrolle werden auf gleiche Weise Stäbe gefertigt, bei denen
jedoch die Imprägnierlösung für die Glasfasern ohne Silanzusatz
geblieben ist (Bezugsprobe).

Verglichen werden die Biegefestigkeiten der Bezugsprobe und der silangeschlichteten Probe im trockenen Zustand und nach einer
Kochzeit von 60 Stunden in Wasser.

100 Gewichtsteile Quarzsand, 2,5 Gewichtsteile eines Phenolharzes + , dem 0,25 Gewichtsprozent Haftvermittler in Form von N-(ß-Aminoäthyl)-ß-Aminoäthyltrimethoxisilan
(bezogen auf das Harz) zugemischt v/urden, werden mit 15 Volumenprozent eines
Härters ++' (bezogen auf das Harz) vermengt.
Aus der Mischung werden Prüfstäbe hergestellt. Nach Lagerzeiten
von 1,5 und 24 Stunden bei 220C wurde die Biegefestigkeit im
+GF-f- -Festigkeitsprüfgerät ermittelt.
Als Vergleich dienen Prüfkörper, die ohne Zugabe von Silan zum Harz hergestellt wurden.

als Katalysator aus 1 Mol Phenol und 1,8 Mol Formaldehyd,
' bestehend aus einer ca. 60 %igen wäßrigen Lösung von p-Toluolsulfonsäure.
1000 g Quarzsand werden mit 25 g eines Phenolharzes + , dem
0,3 g N-(ß--Aminoäthyl)-ß-Aminoäthyltrimethoxisilan und 3,0 g
eines Härters ++' zugesetzt wurden, in einem Mischer intensiv
gemengt.
Unter einem Druck von 7 atü werden aus der Mischung bei 22O0C
Prüfkörper hergestellt. Die Härtungszeit beträgt 30 Sekunden. Die Stäbe werden im Biegefestigkeits-Prüfgerät (siehe Beispiel
6) untersucht.
Als Vergleich dienen Prüfkörper aus Sand-Harz-Harter-Gernischen,
die ohne Zusatz von Silan hergestellt wurden.

Streifen aus Kupferfolie werden sorgfältig entfettet und anschließend
in eine 5 %ige Lösung von N-(ß-Aminoäthyl)-ß-Aminoäthyltrimethoxisilan
in Äthanol getaucht. Nach 2stündiger Trocknung an der Luft werden die Streifen 90 Minuten in einem luftgespülten
Ofen bei 1600C gelagert. Ein Vergleich zu nicht .silanbehandelten
Proben zeigt, daß
die silanbehandelten Proben nach der Wärmebehandlung noch
den vollen Metallglanz besitzen,
die nicht silanbehandelten Proben hingegen eine Oberflächenschwärzung
aufweisen.
Stahlstreifen der Abmessung 10 cm χ 5 cm werden gründlich mit
Perchloräthylen gereinigt. Danach werden die Bleche in eine 4 Gewichtsprozente N-(ß~Aminoäthyl)-ß-Aiüinoäthylsilikon enthaltende
methanolische Lösung eingetaucht (siehe Beispiel 4), an der Luft getrocknet und bei.1400C.10 Minuten im Trockenschrank gelagert.
Auf die so vorbehandelten Bleche wird eine 15 &Lge Lösung eines
Copolymerisates aus etwa 85 ^0 Vinylchlorid und etwa 15 ^ Vinylacetat
in einem Gemisch aus Xylol und Athylisobutylketon (Gewichts
verhältnis 1 : 1,5) aufgetragen. Nach Verdunsten des Lösungsmittels
und dem Hartwerden des Lackes werden die Streifen in einen Luftumwälzofen gelegt und Temperaturen von 16O°C aus-

gesetzt. Zum Vergleich werden in den Luftumwälzofen Proben beigelegt,
die bei gleicher Vorbehandlung ohne Aminosilikonauftrag geblieben sind. Während die nicht aminosilikongrundierten Strei
fen nach 14 bis 18 Minuten beginnen, einen schwarzen Anflug zu
bekommen, und das Harz beginnt, sich vom Untergrund abzulösen, bleiben die aminosilikongrundierten Proben farblos und das Harz
haftet fest darauf.

1.; N-substituierte ß-Aminosilane und -siloxane der folgendenallgemeinen Formelnzt-N-CR2-CR2-Si-(OR" )j_n und (R1),2TI
Rwobei η eine ganze Zahl zwischen 0 und 3 und b gleich 0 oder 1 ist und Z1 für eine, gegebenenfalls substituierte, Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl-, Aryl-, Carboxyl-, Sulfonsäure- oder Estergruppe steht, Z2 gleich Z^ oder Wasserstoff sein kann, R für Wasserstoff und/oder einen Alkylrest mit 1 bis 4 C-Atomen steht, R1 ein Alkylrest mit 1 bis 8 C-Atomen oder ein Arylrest und R" ein Alkyl- oder Alkoxyalkylrest mit 1 bis 8 C-Atomen ist. - 2. Verwendung der Silane und Siloxane gemäß Anspruch 1 zum Schutz von anorganisch oxidischen oder metallischen Oberflächen oder als Haftvermittler zwischen diesen Oberflächen und Polymeren.
