Description
Vorfahren zur Schmierung von Zweitaktmotoren und dafür ver-
wendetgJCompositignen
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Schmierung von Zweitaktmotoren.
Es ist "bekannt, daß das Schmieren von Zweitaktmotoren je nach
Motortyp entweder mittels eines mit Benzin gemischten oder eines nicht mit Benzin gemischten Schmiermittels, das dem Motor
dann mit einer Pumpe zugeführt und durch das Luft-Benzin-Gemisch
"befördert wird, durchgeführt werden kann. Im letzteren
Fall können die Lager entweder durch das auf diese Weise dem Motor zugeführte Schmiermittel oder dadurch, daß das Schmiermittel
dem Motor durch einen ausschließlich für diesen Zweck "bestimmten unabhängigen Kreislauf zugeführt wird, geschmiert
werden.
In allen Fällen gelangt das Schmiermittel schließlich in die Verbrennungskammer, und die Produkte seiner Verbrennung werden
ausgestoßen.
Es ist ferner bekannt, daß die Eigenschaften der üblicherweise beim Schmieren von Zweitaktmotoren verwendeten Öle und vor

machen, daß man, um eine ausreichende Betriebssicherheit zu gewährleisten, diese Öle in relativ großen Mengen verwenden
muß (oft mehr als 5 Gew.$ und immer mindestens 2 Gew.%
im Verhältnis zum Kraftstoff).
Die Verwendung solcher Ölmengen, die weit höher sind als die bei den Viertaktmotoren verwendeten Mengen, bringt zahlreiche
Nachteile mit sich:
- Es werden große Mengen mehr oder weniger gekrackten Öls ausgestoßen.
- Das Kraftstoff-Schmiermittelgemisch wird schlecht verbrannt, und es werden große Mengen an Rauch ausgestoßen.
Diese Erscheinungsformen sind Ursache besonders schädlicher Verschmutzung,
ob es sich nun um Luftverschmutzung oder im Falle von Außenbordzweitaktmotoren um die Verschmutzung der Wasseroberfläche
handelt.
Ein weiterer Nachteil besteht darin, daß sich in der Verbrennungskammer
und im Auspuffsystem Ablagerungen bilden, die zu einem Leistungsabfall des Motors führen und ein häufiges Auseinandernehmen
des Motors erforderlich machen.
Man hat jetzt festgestellt, daß bestimmte Polyester eine verbesserte
Aktivität aufweisen, vor allem hinsichtlich der Unanfälligkeit gegen das Festbrennen und Verklemmen des Kolbens, und
daher in viel geringeren Mengen als die üblichen Schmiermittel verwendet werden können, wodurch sich die vorstehend genannten
Nachteile erheblich verringern. Da diese Polyester außerdem ausgezeichnete Verschleißfestigkeitseigenschaften aufweisen, kommt
es nicht zu einem verstärkten Motorverschleiß, obgleich geringere Mengen an Schmiermittel verwendet werden.
Es ist daher das Ziel der vorliegenden Erfindung, neue verbesserte
Schmiermittelkompositionen herzustellen, die in unvermischter

Form oder im Gemisch mit einem Kraftstoff zur Schmierung von Zweitaktmotoren
verwendet werden können« Ein weiteres Ziel der Erfindung besteht darin, neue "Kraftstoff-Schmiermittel"-Gemische herzustellen,
die die genannten Schmiermittelkompositionen enthalten.
Ein weiteres Ziel der Erfindung ist es, ein Verfahren zum Schmieren
von Zweitaktmotoren vorzuschlagen, bei dem diese neuen Schmißi*·
mittelkompositionen oder diese neuen "Kraftstoff-Schmiermittel"-Gemische
verwendet werden.
Die Schmiermittelkompositionen der vorliegenden Erfindung zeichnen
sich allgemein dadurch aus, daß sie (a) ein Grundschmiermittel, das zumindest teilweise aus einem oder mehreren Polyestern
der nachstehenden Definition besteht, und (b) ein oder mehrere übliche Zusatzmittel in angemessenen Mengen enthalten.
Die in der vorliegenden Erfindung in Betracht gezogenen Polyester werden zwischen gesättigten oder ungesättigten aliphatischen Dioder
Tricarbonsäuren oder halogenierten cyclischen Dicarbonsäuren einerseits und aliphatischen Diolen andererseits gebildet. Sie
können durch monofunktlonelle Verbindungen (primäre oder sekundäre Monocarbonsäuren, Monoalkohole■ oder Monoamine) blockiert
sein oder auch nicht.
Die Polyester von Dicarbonsäuren entsprechen insbesondere einer der folgenden allgemeinen Formeln:

wenn sie verzweigt sind, mindestens eine seitliche Kohlenwasserstoffkette mit z.B. 1 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen enthalten,
oder von (gesättigten oder ungesättigten) alicyclischen oder aromatischen haleg©ni@rt§n Ploarbcmgäüren stammen,

- und die Zahl n, die den Polykondensationsgrad des Polyesters angibt, einen Wert von mindestens 1, z.B. 1 bis 10,hat.
Als Beispiele für aliphatische Dicarbonsäuren seien die folgenden genannt:
Die Tetrapropenylbernsteinsäure, die Trimethyl-2,2,4-adipinsäure,
die Sebacinsäure, die Dodecandionsäure, die isomeren Säuren Octyl-2-undecandionsäure-1,
11 und Nonyl-2-sebacinsäure-1, 10 sowie die gegebenenfalls durch Hydrieren und/oder Halogenieren gesättigten
"dimeren" Säuren (die durch Dimerisation von ungesättigten Fettsäuren
wie der Oleinsäure, der Linolsäure und der Linolensäure erhalten werden).
Als Beispiele für halogenierte Dicarbonsäuren kann man alicycllsche
Säuren wie die Hexachlor-1,4f5,6,7i7-bicyclo-(2.2,1)-hepten-5-dicarbonsäure-2,3
oder aromatische Säuren wie die Tetra-

genannt: Die Essigsäure, die Propionsäure, die Buttersäure, die Pelargonsäure, die Äthyl-2-hexansäure, die Dodecansäure, die
Stearin- und die Isostearinsäure, die aus Olefinen durch oxosynthese
hergestellten verzweigten Säuren, die Dimethyl-2,2-propansäure-1
("aeide.versatique 5") und die "acide versatique 9-11".
Als Beispiele für blockierende Monoalkohole seien die folgenden genannt:
Methyl-, Äthyl-, Propyl-, Butyl-, Octyl-, Dodecyl-, Cetyl-, Octadecyl-,
Äthyl-2-hexyl-, Trimethyl-3,5,5-hexylalkohol, das Cyclohexanol,
das Methyl-2-cyclohexanol, die verzweigten Alkohole,
die von durch Oxo-Synthese aus Olefinen hergestellten verzweigten Monosäuren stammen, der Benzylalkohol und die Glykolmonoalkyläther,

Als Beispiele schließlich für blockierende Monoamine kann man das Methyl-, Dimethyl-, Äthyl-, Isopropyl-, Butyl-, Isobutyl-, Äthyl-2-hexyl-,
Cyclohexyl- und das Methylcyclohexylamin anführen.
In der vorliegenden Erfindung kommen auch bestimmte Polyester in
Betracht, in denen die aliphatischen Dicarbonsäuren der obigen Definition zumindest teilweise durch gesättigte oder ungesättigte
aliphatisch^ Tricarbonsäuren wie z.B. die gegebenenfalls durch Hydrierung und/oder Halogenierung gesättigten "trimeren" Säuren
(fllo durch Trimeri sation von ungesättigten Fett säuren wie dor
Oleinsäure, der Mnolsäure und der Linolensäure erhalten werden) ersetzt sind· Diese verzweigten Polyester können auch durch mono-

funktioneile Verbindungen, wie sie weiter oben beschrieben sind, blockiert sein.
Die vorstehend beschriebenen Polyester können nach jedem herkömmlichen
Verfahren hergestellt werden, z.B. durch direkte Veresterung mindestens einer Polyoarbonsäure durch mindestens ein Diol,
vorzugsweise in Gegenwart eines Veresterungskatalysators wie z.B. der p-Toluolsulfonsäure oder des Zinkchlorids. Sie können auch
durch Umsetzung mindestens eines Diols mit mindestens einem PoIycarbonsäurederivat
(Ester, Chlorid oder Anhydrid z.B.) erhalten werden.
Die Umsetzung kann durch Schmelzen der Reaktionsteilnehmer oder in
Lösung in einem inerten Lösungsmittel, wie z.B. dem Benzol, dem Toluol oder einem Xylol, durchgeführt werden.
Die blockierenden monofunktionellen Verbindungen können entweder zu Beginn der Umsetzung oder nach der Kondensation der Polycarbonverbindung
und des Diols in das Reaktionsmilieu gegeben werden.
Die im Vorhergehenden definierten Polyester können selbst das Grundschmiermittel der erfindungsgemäßen Schmiermittelkompositionen
bilden. Das Grundschmiermittel kann jedoch auch, z.B. als Verdünnungsmittel, Kompositionen wie leichte Erdölfraktionen wie
White-Spirit (Terpentinölersatz).oder Kerosin (Carbureacteur) in Mengen beispielsweise bis zu 50 Gew.$ enthalten. Die Polyester
können ferner in unterschiedlichen Mengen mit verschiedenen üblichen
Schmiermitteln wie Mineralölen, Paraffinölen oder Naphthenölen
(z.B. durch ein Lösungsmittel raffiniert oder hydroraffiniert)
oder synthetischen Schmierölen vermischt sein, die z.B. durch Oligomerisation oder Polymerisation von olefinischen Kohlenwasserstoffen
erhalten werden und gegebenenfalls einer abschließenden Hydrierungsbehandlung (z.B. der Polyisobutylene) unterzogen worden
sind.
In manchen Fällen kann der Polyesteranteil in üblichen Schmierölen
sehr gering sein, z.B. kann er nur 0,01 °ß>
des Gewichts des Grundschmiermittels betragen. Das Polyester spielt dann eine ein-

fache Rolle als Mittel gegen das Eesfbrennen des Kolbens.
Die Polyester können schließlich mit einfachen Estern gewöhnlicher
Alkohole, (Monoalkohole oder Polyole) wie z.B. dem Isodecyladipat,
dem Trimethylhexalazelat oder dem Trimethylolpropancaprylat,
mit einfachen Estern von Alkylenglykololigomeren, wie z.B. dem .Dipropylenglykoladipat oder -pelargonat, oder mit komplexen
Estern vermischt sein.
In allen Pullen gibt man, um die erfindungsgemäßen Schmiermittelkompositionen
zu erhalten, dem vorstehend definierten Grundnchmiormittel
übliche Zusatzstoffe, hauptsächlich ein reinigendes Zuontzmittel,
wie z.B. einen aschefreien Reinigungs- und Dispergierzusatz
in einer Menge z.B. zwischen 0,05 und 30 % und vorzugsweise zwischen
5 und 20$ des Gewichts der Schmiermittelkomposition und ein
Antioxydationsmittel (z.B. von der Art eines Phenols oder Amins) in einer Menge z.B. zwischen 0,1 und 10$ des Gewichts der Komposition
zu.
Wie auch immer die Zusammensetzung des "Grundschmiermittels" der im Vorhergehenden definierten Schmiermittelkompositionen sein mag:
Man hat festgestellt, daß das Vorhandensein bestimmter organischer Verbindungen in dem Grundschmiermittel günstig ist und vor allem
die Eigenschaften hinsichtlich der Vermeidung einer Kolbenverklemmung verbessern kann.
Diese organischen Verbindungen, die von verschiedener Art sein können, z.B. Carbonsäuren, einfache Ester, Alkohole, Amine, Amide,
Aminsalze oder Nitrile, sind dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie mindestens eine aliphatische Kette mit 8 bis 24, vorzugsweise 10 bis
18 und insbesondere 12 Kohlenstoffatomen enthalten.
Als spezifische Beispiele dieser Verbindungen seien die folgenden genannt: Die Octansäure, die Decansäure, die Tetradecansäure, die
Hexadecansäure, die Octadecansäure, die Octadecen-9-onsäure und
ihre niederen Alkylester, z.B. Methyl-, Äthyl-, Isopropyl-, Butyl-, Isobutyl oder Äthylhexylester, die natürlichen Fraktionen, die Gemische
von Säuren von der Octansäure bis zur Hexadecansäure mit

dem Schwergewicht auf der Dodecansäure enthalten,
- das Octanol, das Decanol, das Tetradecanol, das Hexadecanol, das
Octadecanol oder die Fraktionen linearer Alkohole, die durch Reduktion der Fraktionen der entsprechenden Monocarbonsäuren oder
mit einem Syntheseverfahren wie der Polymerisation des Äthylen durch die Aluminiumalkylverbindungen mit nachfolgender Oxydation
erhalten werden,
- vorzugsweise die Verbindungen mit aliphatischen Ketten mit 12
Kohlenstoffatomen, wie die Dodecansäure, die Dodecanoate niederer Alkyle, das Dodecanol oder das Dodecylamin,
Diese Verbindungen können aus Di- oder Tricarbonsäuren, die durch Dimerisation oder Trimerisation von Monocarbonsäuren wie der
Octadecen-9-onsäure (Oleinsäure), der 0ctadecadien-9,10-onsäure
(Linolsäure) und der Octadecatrien-9,12,15-onsäure (Linolensäure),
gegebenenfalls mit nachfolgender Hydrierung, erhalten werden, oder aus ihren Estern bestehen.
Diese organischen Verbindungen können z.B. in einer Menge von 0,1 bis 40$ und vorzugsweise 2,5 bis 10$ des Gewichts des Grundschmiei»-
mittels enthalten sein.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zum Schmieren von Zweitaktmotoren int dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man dabei Schmiermittelkomponltionen
verwendet, wie sie in der vorstehenden Beschreibung definiert sind.
Diese Schmiermittelkompositionen können in unveränderter Form zum Schmieren von Zweitaktmotoren mit gesonderter Schmierung verwendet
werden.
Für das Schmieren von Zweitaktmotoren, die mit einem mit dem Kraftstoff
vermischten Schmiermittel geschmiert werden, können die erfindungsgemäßen
"Kraftstoff-Schmiermittel"-Gemische 0,05 bis 10$,

z.B. 0,05 bis 5io und insbesondere 0,1 bis 1 Gew.$ Schmiermittel
enthalten. Man kann vorteilhafterweise ein bleifreies Spezialbenzin verwenden.
Das erfindungsgemäße Schmierverfahren ist bei luft- oder wassergekühlten
Zweitaktmotoren von Land- oder Wasserfahrzeugen anwendbar.
Die nachstehend aufgeführten Beispiele dienen der Erläuterung der vorliegenden Erfindung, sollen jedoch in keiner Weise als Beschränkungen
gelten.
Analog dem in der Belgischen Patentschrift 772 208 beschriebenen Verfahren hat man Polyester hergestellt.

Polyester, hergestellt aus 164 g eines Gemisches aus isomeren
Säuren, nämlich der 0ctyl-2-undecansäure-1,11 und der Nonyl-2-sebacinsäure-1,10,
104 g Dirnethyl-2,2-propandiol-1,3 und 200 g Dodecansäure.
- Viskosität bei 98,9° 0 = 13,8 cSt.
Produkt^B^
Polyester, hergestellt aus 328 g eines Gemisches von isomeren Säuren,
nämlich der Octyl-2-undecansäure-i,11 und der Nonyl-2-sebacinsäure-1,10
sowie aus 115 g Dimethyl-2,2-propandiol-1,3.

Polyester, hergestellt aus einer "dimeren" Säure (G-emisch von Dicarbonsäuren
aus der Dimerisation eines Olein-, Linol- und Linolenßäuregemisches)

Polyester, hergestellt aus einer "dimeren" Säure und Dimethyl-2,2-propandiol-1,3.

Die in Tabelle I angegebenen Schmiermittel wurden im Gemisch mit
einem gewöhnlichen bleifreien Benzin mit der Researchoktanzahl 94 bei einem Zweitaktmotor der Marke Motobecane Typ AV7L getestet*
Um die Klemmfestigkeitseigenschaften der getesteten Gemische
festzustellen, hat man den Temperaturanstieg des Zündkerzenkn· stücks
gemessen, der durch einen Geschwindigkeitsabfall des Motors um 400 Umdrehungen pro Minute infolge einer Verklemmung des
Kolbens in dem Zylinder verursacht worden ist, zu der es kommt, wenn die Kühlung des Motors unterbrochen wird. Das Schmiermittel
ist umso besser, je größer der Temperaturanstieg ist, den das jeweilige
Schmiermittel zuläßt. Die Ergebnisse sind in Tabelle II angegeben.
Zum Vergleich hat man auch das Polyisobutylen allein und in
Kraftstoff-Schmiermittelgemischen mit 5,7$ Schmiermittel, nach den
üblichen Empfehlungen, verschiedene Mineralöle getestet.

Man hat eine Schmiermittelkomposition (Schmiermittel Xl) mit
einem Gehalt von 80 Gew. fo Produkt A von Beispiel 1 und 20 Gew.$
eines multifunktionellen aschefreien Zusatzmittels "Oloa 340 D"
hergestellt. Fach den Ergebnissen der Verklemmungsversuche von Beispiel 1 ist es offensichtlich, daß das im Gemisch mit Benzin
verwendete Schmiermittel XI mit 0,5 Gew.% Produkt A eine Sicherheit
gegen die Kolbenverklemmung gewährleistet, die der eines zu 5(/o beigemischten handelsüblichen Öls zumindest gleich ist.
Das. Benzin, dae zur Herstellung der Testgemische gedient hat, i3t
ein bleifreies Benzin mit der Researchoktanzahl 94.
Der nach der Methode CEO 1 402 T 68 bei einem Motor der Marke
MOTOBECANE Typ AV7L durchgeführte Yerschmutzungstest dauert 100
Stunden. Er besteht aus' verschiedenen Betriebsphasen, darunter eine Phase mit gedrosseltem Motor. Er ist representativ für den

tatsächlichen Betrieb längerer Dauer.
Die Ergebnisse sind nachstehend in Tabelle IV angegeben.

Claims (17)
1) Schmiermittelverbindung für Zweitaktmotoren, bestehend aus
einem Grundschmiermittel und mindestens einem üblichen Zusatzmittel, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das genannte Grundschmiermittel
mindestens einen Polyester enthält, der einer der folgenden allgemeinen Formeln entspricht:

in welchen die zweiwertigen Reste G von mindestens einem aliphatischen
Diol und die zweiwertigen Reste A von mindestens einer Dicarbonsäure stammen, welche eine aliphatische Dicarbonsäure
oder eine halogenierte alicyclische oder aromatische Dicarbonsäure ist, X ein Wasserstoffatom oder ein von Monocarbonsäuren
stammender Acylrest ist, Y die Hydroxylgruppe, eine von primären oder sekundären Monoalkoholen stammende
Oxykohlenwasserstoffgruppe oder ein einwertiger Rest von primären oder sekundären Monoaminen ist und n, das den Polykondensationsgrad
angibt, einen Wert von mindestens 1 hat.
2) Schmiermittelkomposition nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Reste G 2 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten, die
Reste A zumindest teilweise aliphatische Reste sind, die eine lineare Kohlenwasserstoffkette mit 2 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen
enthalten, und die Zahl η einen Wert von 1 bis 10 hat.
3) Schmiermittelkomposition nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die Reste G 2 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten, die die Reste A zumindest teilweise aliphatische -I0S+^ Lind, die
eine Ilauptkohlenwasserstoffkette mit 2 bis 18 Lo'alenstoffatomen
und mindestens eine seitliche Kohlenwasaerstoffkette
mit 1 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen enthalten, und die Zahl η einen Wert von 1 bis 10 hat»

4) Schmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 2 und 3, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß die Reste A zumindest teilweise von gesättigten aliphatischen Dicarbonsäuren stammen.
5) Schmierraittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 2 und 3, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß die Reste A zumindest teilweise von ungesättigten aliphatischen Dicarbonsäuren stammen.
6) r>chmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß die von Dicarbonsäuren stammenden zweiwertigen Reste A zumindest teilweise durch zumindest von
einer aliphatischen Tricarbonsäure stammende dreiwertige Reste ersetzt sind.
7) Schmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Grundschmiermittel außerdem mindestens ein übliches Schmiermittel enthält, das ein Mineralöl
oder ein synthetisches Schmiermittel ist. ·
8) Schmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Grundschmiermittel außerdem mindestens ein Verdünnungsmittel enthält.
9) Schmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Grundschmiermittel außerdem mindestens einen einfachen Ester enthält.
10) Schmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß das Grundschmiermittel außerdem mindestens eine organische Verbindung mit einfachen Funktionen enthält,
die mindestens eine aliphatisch^ Kette mit 8 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen
enthält.
11) Schmiermittelkomposition nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß das Grundschmiermittel außerdem mindestens eine organische Verbindung mit einfachen Funktionen enthält, die mindestens
eine aliphatische Kette mit 12 Kohlenstoffatomen enthält.

12) Schmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 10 und 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die genannte organische Verbindung
mit einfachen Funktionen 0,1 Ms 40 Gew.# des Grundschmiermittels
beträgt.
13) Schmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Grundschmiermittel im wesentlichen
aus mindestens einem Polyester besteht.
H) Kraftstoff-Schmiermittelgemisch für Zweitaktmotoren, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es 0,05 bis10Gew.# einer Schmiermittelkomposition
nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 13 in einem üblichen Kraftstoff enthält.
15) Kraftstoff-Schmiermittelgemisch für Zweitaktmotoren, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß es 0,05 bis 5 Gew.$ einer Schmiermittelkomposition
nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 13 in einem üblichen Kraftsfoff enthält.
16) Verfahren zum Schmieren eines Zweitaktmotors, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man eine Schmiermittelkomposition nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 13 verwendet.
17) Verfahren zum Schmieren eines Zweitaktmotors, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man ein Kraftstoff-Schmiermittelgemisch nach einem der Ansprüche H und 15 verwendet.
