onsäure, Toluolsulfonsäure-C';} >

1-Hydroxybenzolsulfonsäure, n-Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure,

Ein geeignetes Anion heterocyclischer Sulfonsäuren ist z.B. das Anion der Chinolinsulfonsäure-(5).
Weiterhin kommen die Anionen von Arylsulfin-, -phosphon- und
-phosphonigsäuren, wie Benzolsulfin- und Benzolphosphonsäure,
in Betracht.
Bevorzugt sind farblose Anionen. Für das Färben aus wäßrigem Medium sind solche Anionen bevorzugt, die die Wasserlöslichkeit
des Farbstoffs nicht zu stark beeinträchtigen. Für das Färben aus organischen Lösungsmitteln sind vielfach auch solche
Anionen bevorzugt, die die Löslichkeit des Farbstoffs in organischen Lösungsmitteln fördern oder zumindest nicht negativ
beeinflussen.
Das Anion ist im allgemeinen durch das Herstellungsverfahren und die eventuell vorgenommene Reinigung des rohen Farbstoffs

gegeben. Im allgemeinen liegen die Farbstoffe als Halogenide (insbesondere als Chloride oder Bromide) oder als Methosulf
ate, Äthosulfate, Sulfate, Benzol- oder Toluolsulfonate
oder als Acetate vor. Die Anionen können in bekannter Weise gegen andere Anionen ausgetauscht werden.
Unter einem Alkylrest wird ein gesättigter oder ungesättigter aliphatischer Rest mit vorzugsweise 1 bis 6 C-Atomen
verstanden, der nichtionische Substituenten und/oder Carboxylgruppen enthalten kann; z. B. der Methyl-, Äthyl-,
n- und iso-Propyl-, n-, iso- und tert. Butyl- und die verschiedenen
isomeren Pentyl- und Hexylreste sowie der Vinyl-, Propenyl-, Allyl- und Propargylrest oder der Hydroxyäthyl-,
Chloräthyl- oder Cyanäthylrest.
Mit Cycloalkylresten sind beispielsweise Cyclopentyl- und
Cyclohexylreste gemeint, die durch nichtionische Reste und/
oder Carboxylgruppen substituiert sein können.
Arylreste sind beispielsweise gegebenenfalls nichtionisch und/
oder durch Carboxylgruppen substituiert Phenylreste und deren
Anellierungsprodukte, wie der gegebenenfalls nichtionisch und/ oder durch Carboxylgruppen substituierte Naphthalinrest.
Heterylreste sind beispielsweise 5- oder 6-gliedrige heterocyclische
Ringe wie der Thienyl-, Pyridyl-, Pyrrolyl-, Indolyl-(2)-,
lndolyl-(3)-, Benzothiazolyl-(2)- oder Benzoxazolyl-(2)-Rest und ihre durch nichtionische Reste oder durch Carboxylgruppen
substituierten Derivate.
Aralkylreste sind beispielsweise durch Aryl- oder Heterylreste substituierte Alkylreste.
Nichtionische Substituenten im Sinne der vorliegenden Erfindung sind die in der Parbstoffchemie üblichen nichtdissoziierenden

Die neuen Farbstoffe eignen sich zum Färben, Bedrucken und Massefärben von Materialien, die vollständig oder überwiegend
aus polymerisierten ungesättigten Nitrilen wie Acrylnitril und Vinylidencyanid oder aus sauer modifizierten
Polyestern oder aus sauer modifizierten Polyamiden bestehen. Sie eignen sich weiterhin für die übrigen bekannten Anwendungen
kationischer Farbstoffe, wie das Färben und Bedrucken von Cellulose-acetat, Kokos, Jute, Sisal und Seide, von tannierter
Baumwolle und Papier, zur Herstellung von Kugelschreiberpasten und Stempelfarben und zur Verwendung im
Gummidruck. Die Färbungen und Drucke auf den zuerst genannten Materialien, insbesondere auf Polyacrylnitril, zeichnen
sich durch ihr sehr hohes Echtheitsniveau aus, vor allem durch sehr gute Licht-, Naß-, Reib-, Dekatur-, Sublimier-
und Schweißechtheiten.
Gegenüber vorbekannten ähnlichen Farbstoffen zeichnen sich die neuen Farbstoffe durch verbesserte Echtheiten, insbesondere
verbesserte Lichtechtheit, und eine erwünschte bathochrome Verschiebung des Farbtons aus. Die mit ihnen
hergestellten Färbungen und Drucke zeigen in besonderem Maße die erwünschte Eigenschaft, ihren Farbton bei künstlicher
Beleuchtung wenig bis nicht zu verändern, d.h. sie haben eine gute "Abendfarbe". Weitere Vorteile liegen in
der ungewöhnlichen Klarheit des Farbtons, der besonders für die Herstellung brillanter Drucke wichtig ist, in ihrem

gleichmäßigen Aufziehen auf die obengenannten Materialien, vor allem auf Polyacrylnitril, und in der guten Kombinierbarkeit
mit handelsüblichen Farbstoffen.

55 Teile N-Äthyl-4-methylsulfonyl-naphtholactam~(1,8) werden
mit 35 Teilen Ν,Ν-Diäthyl-anilin in 400 Teilen Phosphoroxy-
chlorid unter Zusatz von 30 Teilen Phosphorpentoxid 8 bis 10 Stunden bei 80 bis 850C verrührt. Die erkaltete Mischung
wird in 2000 bis 3000 Teile Eiswasser gegossen. Sobald das
überschüssige Phosphoroxychlorid hydrolysiert ist, werden
unter Kühlung bei maximal 350C 300 Teile konzentrierte
Natronlauge zugefügt. Dabei scheidet sich der Farbstoff der Formel

in bereits weitgehend reiner Form aus. Er wird nach mehrstündigem Rühren abgesaugt und mit verdünnter Kochsalzlö
sung gewaschen. Die Ausbeute ist annähernd quantitativ. Der Farbstoff kann gewünschtenfalls durch Umkristallisieren
aus Wasser gereinigt werden. Er ergibt auf Polyacrylnitril sehr echte und brillante blaue Färbungen und Drucke.
Das verwendete Naphtholactamderivat wurde folgendermaßen hergestellt:
Zu 300 ml 10 #iger Sodalösung wurden unter Rühren 30 g N-
Äthylnaphtholactam-4-sulfonsäurechlorid gegeben, dann inner
halb von 10 Minuten 30 g Na-Dithionit zugefügt. Man rührt
das Reaktionsgemisch 2 Stunden bei 6O0C, läßt abkühlen und

stellt mit 5 % HCl sauer. Das ausgefallene Produkt wird abgesaugt,
mit Wasser gewaschen und getrocknet. Ausbeute: 25,6 g.
Das erhaltene rohe, gelbe Produkt wird zur Reinigung nochmals
mit 10 #iger NaOH verrührt. Nach Absaugen von unlöslichen Anteilen wird aus dem Filtrat mit 5 #iger Salzsäure
die Sulfinsäure gefällt, getrocknet und aus Alkohol umkristallieiert.
Ausbeute: 19 g; Pp.: 112 - 1160C.

4-Methylsulfony1-N-äthy!naphtholactam:
26,1 g N-Äthylnaphtholactam-4-sulfinsäure werden in 100 ml
Wasser aufgeschlämmt. Man gibt 6,5 g Kaliumhydroxid hinzu,
erwärmt auf 4O0C und tropft nach Zugabe von 20 ml Alkohol
13 g Dimethylsulfat innerhalb 11/2 Stunden zu. Durch Zugabe von wäßriger Kalilauge (insgesamt 6,6 g Kaliumhydroxid
in etwa 10 %iger Lösung) wird der pH über 7-8 gehalten.
Mit der letzten Hälfte der Lauge werden gleichzeitig nochmals 7 g Dimethylsulfat innerhalb von 45 Minuten zugegeben.
Man rührt 3 Stunden bei 400C nach, stellt das Reaktionsgemisch
mit 10 %iger wäßriger Natriumhydroxid-Lösung alkalisch, saugt ab, wäscht die gelbe kristalline Masse mit Wasser und
trocknet.
Ausbeute: 11,5 g; Fp. nach Umkristallieren aus Dimethylformamid/Alkohol:
198 - 2020C (Sintern ab 1940C).
Verwendet man anstelle des Diäthylanilins N-Methyl-, N-Äthyl-,
N-ß-Chloräthyl- oder N-ß-Cyanäthyltetrahydrochinolin oder
eines der folgenden Amine in Jeweils äquivalenter Menge, so erhält man ebenfalls sehr echte Farbstoffe.

scheidet sich sofort in kristalliner Form mit nahezu quantitativer Ausbeute aus. Er entspricht der Formel

blaue Färbungen und Drucke.
Das verwendete N-Äthyl~4-p-tolylsulfonyl-naphtholactam-(1,8)
wurde folgendermaßen hergestellt:
Zu einem Gemisch aus 40 g N-Äthy!naphtholactam, 88 g p-Toluolsulfochlorid
und 60 ml Nitrobenzol wurden unter Rühren und Feuchtigkeitsausschluß 28 g AlCl^ gegeben, anschließend
wird auf 600C erwärmt. Bei dieser Temperatur gibt man portionsweise,
wobei die Temperatur bis 10O0C ansteigt, weitere 56 g AlCl3 hinzu. Man rührt 5 Stunden bei 110 bis 1300C,
trägt dann auf Eis aus, saugt ab und wäscht mit Cyclohexan und Lignin.
Ausbeute: 72,5 g; Fp.: 200 - 2020C.

Analoge N-Alkyl-4-p-toluolsulfonyl'naphtholactame erhält man
durch Umsetzung von Toluolsulfochlorid mit N-Methyl-, N-n-Propyl-,

-Iactam-(1,8). Diese Lactamderivate ergeben nach der Verfahrensweise

33,7 Teile N-Äthyl-4-phenylsulfonyl-naphtholactam-(1,8) und
23,0 Teile 1 ^^-Trimethyl-S-methoxy^-cyanmethylen-indolin
werden in 75 Teilen Chlorbenzol mit 25 Teilen Phosphoroxychlorid 6 Stunden bei 80 bis 900C verrührt. Nach dem Erkalten

Verwendet man anstelle des angegebenen 2-Cyanmethylen-indolins
die jeweils äquivalente Menge einer der folgenden heterocyclischen Methylenbasen, so erhält man ebenfalls
sehr echte, neue Farbstoffe. Der Farbton auf Polyacrylnitril ist in Klammern angegeben:

erkaltete Mischung wird in 10 000 Teile Eiswasser gegossen. Der ausgeschiedene Farbstoff kann in üblicher Weise durch
Umkristallisieren aus Wasser gereinigt werden. Er entspricht der Formel

Das Butylsuifonyl-naphtholactam wurde folgendermaßen hergestellt:
In eine Lösung von 50 g N-Äthylnaphtholactam-4-sulfinsäure in
100 ml Dimethylformamid wurden 12 g gepulvertes Kaliumhydroxid eingetragen. Nachdem sich alles gelöst hat, werden
bei 500C innerhalb 1/2 Stunde 35 g n-Brombutan zugetropft.
Dann wird 1 Stunde bei 700C und 1 Stunde bei 1000C gerührt.
Zur Aufarbeitung versetzt man mit 250 ml Wasser und 70 ml 20 %iger wäßriger Natriumhydroxidlösung, rührt 1 Stunde bei
Raumtemperatur, wobei der pH durch Zugabe von zusätzlicher Natriumhydroxidlösung über 10 gehalten wird, und saugt die

4 Teile N-Äthyl-4-(3t-nitrophenylsulfonyl)-naphtholactam-(l,8)
(1,8) werden mit 2,4 Teilen ΙΤ,Ν-Diäthylanilin, 4 Teilen
Phosphoroxychlorid und 1,2 Teilen wasserfreiem Zinkchlorid zunächst bei 70 - 900C, dann 15 - 20 Stunden bei 100 - 1100C
gerührt. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird in Eis/Wae&er ausgetragen
und der ausgefallene Farbstoff aus Wasser umkristallisiert. Man erhält den Farbstoff der Formel

in Form des Doppelsalzes mit Zinkchlorid, der Polyacrylnitril in klarem blauem Ton färbt.
Bei analoger Arbeitsweise erhält man bei Verwendung der unten angegebenen Ausgangsprodukte folgende Farbstoffe in Form des
Zinkchlorid-Doppelsalzes, die Gewebe aus Polyacrylnitril in den angegebenen Tönen färben:

Das für den 4. Farbstoff der Tabelle verwendete N-Äthyl-4-allylsulfonylnaphtholactam-(l,8) erhält man wie folgt:
In eine lösung von 50 Teilen N-Äthylnaphtholactam-(l,8)-4-aulfinsäure in 95 Teilen Dimethylformamid werden 12 Teile gepulvertes Kaliumhydroxid eingetragen. Nachdem sich alles gelöst hat, werden bei 500O innerhalb einer 1/2 Stunde 30 Teile
Allylbromid zugetropft. Anschließend rührt man 1 Stunde bei
70° und 1 Stunde bei 1000C, läßt abkühlen und gibt zum
Reaktionegemisch 250 Teile Wasser mit 86 Teilen 2Obiger
wässriger Natriumhydroxidlösung. Man rührt 1 Stunde bei Raumtemperatur, wobei der pH-Wert nötigenfalls durch Zugabe
weiterer Natriumhydroxidlösung über 9 gehalten wird. Man saugt ab und kristallisiert den Rückstand aus Eisessig um.
Ausbeute: 30 Teile
Fp nach nochmaligem Umkristallisieren aus Eisessig: 160 - 164°.
7,2 Teile N-Äthyl-4-p-tolylsulfonylnaphtholactam-(l,8) werden
mit 8,1 Teilen l,3,3-Trimethyl-5-methoxy-2-methylenindolin,
9 Teilen Phosphoroxychlorid und 5 Teilen Fhosphorpentoxid
Stunden bei 100 - 120° gerührt. Der nach Austragen des Reaktions-

produkte in Eis/Wasser anfallende Farbstoff wird aus Wasser unter Zusatz von Kohle umkristallisiert. Der Farbstoff entspricht
der Formel

und färbt Polyacrylnitril in rotvioletten Tönen.
Verfährt man nach der oben angegebenen Methode der Kondensation mit Phoephoroxychlorid und Phosphorpentoxid, so erhält
man bei Verwendung der unten angegebenen Ausgangsprodukte folgende Farbstoffe, die Polyacrylnitril in den angegebenen
Tönen färben:

3,2 Teile N-Äthyl-4-n-butylsulfonylnaphtholactam-(lt8) werden
mit 1,7 Teilen Diphenylamin, 3 Teilen Fhosphoroxychlorid und
3,2 Teilen Zinntetrachlorid vermischt, dann erwärmt und 15 Minuten bei 135° gerührt. In das noch wärme Reaktionsgern!sch
werden 20 Teile Methanol gegeben, dann wird 1 Stunde kalt gerührt und abgesaugt. Der Rückstand wird mit Wasser ausgekocht.
Aus dem Filtrat scheidet sich beim Erkalten der Farbstoff der Formel

aus, der Polyacrylnitril in klarem blauen Ton mit sehr guter
Mchtechtheit färbt.
Ein wäßriges Färbebad, enthaltend pro Liter 0,75 g 30
Essigsäure, 0,40 g Natriumacetat und 0,25 g des Farbstoffs der Formel
SO2-CH3
Cl'
wird bei ca. 450C mit der dem Flottenverhältnis 1 : 40 entsprechenden
Menge Polyacrylnitrilfasem beschickt, innerhalb von 20 bis 30 Minuten zum Sieden erhitzt und 30 bis
60 Minuten bei dieser Temperatur gehalten. Nach dem Spülen und Trocknen der Faser erhält man eine brillante blaue Färbung
von sehr guter Lichtechtheit.

Sauer modifizierte Polyglycolterephthalatfasern vom Typ DACRON 64 (Du Pont), bzw. wie sie in der Belgischen Patentschrift
549 179 und in der USA-Patentschrift 2 893 816 be-

schrieben sind, werden bei 200C im Flottenverhältnis 1 : 40
in ein wäßriges Bad eingebracht, das pro Liter 3 g Natriumsulfat, 0,5 bis 2 g eines Oleylpolyglycoläthers (50 Mol
Äthylenoxyd), 2,5 bis 5 g Diphenyl und 0,3 g des Farbstoffes der Formel des Beispiels 1 enthält, und mit Essigsäure
auf einen pH-Wert von 4,5 bis 5,5 eingestellt wurde. Man erhitzt innerhalb.von 30 Minuten auf 980C und hält das Bad
60 Minuten bei dieser Temperatur. Anschließend werden die Fasern gespült und getrocknet. Man erhält eine brillante
blaue Färbung von sehr guten Echtheitseigenschaften.
In einen Färbebecher von 500 ml Inhalt, der sich in einem beheizten Wasserbad befindet, werden 0,75 g des Farbstoffes
der Formel des Beispiels 1 mit der 20-fachen Menge heißen Wassers unter Zusatz von etwas Essigsäure angeteigt
und mit heißem Wasser gelöst. Die Färbeflotte erhält noch einen Zusatz von 0,5 g des Einwirkungsproduktes von 50 Mol
Äthylenoxid auf 1 Mol Oleylalkohol und wird mit kaltem Wasser auf 500 ml aufgefüllt. Der pH-Wert der Färbeflotte wird
mit Essigsäure oder Natriumacetat auf 4,5 bis 5 eingestellt.
In dieser Färbeflotte werden 10 g Stückware aus sauer modifiziertem
Polyamid ständig in Bewegung gehalten, während man 15 Minuten die Temperatur auf 1000C erhöht. Bei Kochtemperatur
färbt man 15 bis 20 Minuten, spült das Material mit kaltem Wasser und trocknet es anschließend, z.B. durch
Bügeln oder im Trockenschrank bei 60 bis 700C. Man erhält
ein blau gefärbtes Material.
Ein Gewebe aus Polyacrylnitril wird mit einer Druckpaste folgender Zusammensetzung bedruckt:

30 Teile des Farbstoffes der Formel des Beispiels 1 50 Teile Thiodiäthylenglykol
30 Teile Cyclohexanol
30 Teile 30 %ige Essigsäure
Teile Kristallgummi
Teile Kristallgummi
30 Teile wäßrige Zinknitratlösung (d = 1,5) und
Teile Wasser.
Der erhaltene Druck wird getrocknet, 30 Minuten gedämpft und anschließend gespült. Man erhalten einen brillanten
blauen Druck mit sehr guten Echtheitseigenschaften.

Verfahren nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Umsetzung in Gegenwart von PhosphoroxyChlorid, Phosphortri- oder -pentachlorid, Zinntetrachlorid oder Titantetrachlorid als Kondensationsmittel durchgeführt wird.
- 8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Umsetzung in Gegenwart eines weiteren wasserabspaltenden Mittels wie Phoephorpentoxid, Aluminiumchlorid oder Zinkchlorid durchgeführt wird.

Verfahren zur Herstellung kationischer Farbstoffe der allgemeinen FormelTR- N = C - KAn*worinO2S-R1Wasserstoff, einen Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl- Aralkyl- oder Arylrest oder einen mit dem Naphthalinring in o-Stellung verbundenen Alkylenrest,einen Alkyl-, Cycloalkyl-, Aralkyl- oder Arylrest oder einen über Kohlenstoff gebundenen gesättigten oder ungesättigten heterocyclischen _Rest,_ Wasserstoff oder einen nichtionischen Substituenten und/oder eine Carboxylgruppe, die Zahlen 1 oder 2,

Verfahren zum Färben, Bedrucken und Massefärben von Materialien, die vollständig oder tiberwiegend aus polymerisierten ungesättigten Nitrilen wie Acylnitril oder Vinylidencyanid, aus sauer modifizierten Polyamiden oder aus sauer modifizierten Polyestern bestehen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man Farbstoffe der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 verwendet.

Materialien, die vollständig oder tiberwiegend aus polymerisierten ungesättigten Nitrilen wie Acrylnitril und Vinylidencyanid, aus sauer modifizierten Polyamiden oder aus sauer modifizierten Polyestern bestehen, und die mit Farbstoffen der Ansprüche 1 bis 5 gefärbt, bedruckt oder in der Masse gefärbt worden sind.Le A 14 109 - 43 -309832/1029
