Unter einem Alkylrest wird ein gesättigter oder olefinisch ungesättigter
aliphatischer Rest mit 1 bis 6 C-Atomen verstanden, der nichtionische Substituenten und/oder Carboxylgruppen enthalten

Gegenstand der vorliegenden Anmeldung sind ferner Verfahren zum
Pärben, Bedrucken und Maeaefärben von synthetischen Materialien
aus polymerisieren ungesättigten Nitrilen wie Polyacrylnitril oder Vinylidencyanid, sauer modifizierten Polyestern und sauer
modifizierten Polyamiden, sowie die aus diesen Materialien bestehenden und mit den erfindungsgemäßen Farbstoffen gefärbten,
bedruckten und/oder in der Masse gefärbten Produkte.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Anmeldung sind Verfahren zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen der Formeln I bis XIa,
die dadurch gekennzeichnet sind, daß man in kationische Farbstoffe oder in Farbstoffvorprodukte nach an sich bekannten Verfahren mindestens eine Gruppe Z, die die in Formel (I) angegebene Bedeutung hat, einführt und im Falle der Einführung in
Vorprodukte diese sodann in an sich bekannter Weise in kationische Farbstoffe umwandelt.

oder ein anderes, in analoger Weise reagierendes Derivat einer entsprechenden Sulfonsäure wird

2) Ein primäres Sulfonamid eines kationischen Farbstoffs oder
Farbstoffvorprodukts wird mit einem aktiven Derivat eines Amide bzw. Harnstoffs kondensiert. Solche aktiven
Derivate sind z.B. Acetale wie Dimethylformamid-dimethylacetal, Thio-Verbindungen wie Dimethyl-thioformamid und Isothiuroniumsalze
- z.B. das Addukt von Dimethylsulfat an tetrasubstituierte Thioharnstoffe -, vor allem aber die aus
der Vilsmeier-Reaktion bekannten Reaktionsprodukte mit

Die Einführung der Gruppierung Z in ein Farbstoffvorprodukt kann mit der nachfolgenden Umwandlung dieses Vorproduktes in
einen kationischen Farbstoff zu einem "Eintopfverfahren" kombiniert werden^ Diese Kombination ergibt sich besonders glatt,
wenn man die Gruppierung Z nach 2) unter Verwendung eines ViIsmeier-Kompleies
einführt.

Die neuen Farbstoffe eignen sich zum Färben, Bedrucken und Massefärben von Materialien, die vollständig oder überwiegend
aus polymerisieren ungesättigten Nitrilen wie Acrylnitril und
Vinylldencyanid oder aus sauer modifizierten Polyestern oder aus sauer modifizierten Polyamiden bestehen. Sie eignen sich
weiterhin für die übrigen bekannten Anwendungen kationischer Farbstoffe, wie das Färben und Bedrucken von Gellulose-acetat,
Kokos, Jute, Sisal und Seide, von tannierter Baumwolle und
Papier, zur Herstellung von Kugelschreiberpasten und Stempelfarben und zur Verwendung im Gummidruck. Die Färbungen und
Drucke auf den zuerst genannten Materialien, insbesondere auf
Polyacrylnitril, zeichnen sich durch ihr sehr hohes Echtheitsniveau aus, vor allem durch sehr gute Licht-, Naß-, Reib-,
W Dekatur-, Sublimier- und Schweißechtheiten. Ein besonderer Vorteil
der neuen Farbstoffe ist ihre ungewöhnlich hohe Löslichkeit in Wasser und polaren organischen Lösungsmitteln; dadurch
ist die Herstellung stabiler, hochkonzentrierter Lösungen möglich.
Die Farbstoffe sind weiterhin durch ihr außergewöhnlich gleichmäßiges Ziehvermögen ausgezeichnet, welches die Herstellung
völlig egaler Färbungen in einfacher Weise erlaubt.
Besonders hervorgehoben wird die Unempfindlichkeit der Lösungen der neuen Farbstoffe gegen Fremdionen wie Rhodanid, Cyanid,
Oxalat, Sulfat, Bromid, Chlorozinkat u.a., die mit den bekannten kationischen Farbstoffen Fällungen ergeben, welche die Anwendung
der Farbstoffe empfindlich zu stören vermögen. Derartige | Störungen können durch Verwendung der erfindungsgemäßen Farbstoffe
gänzlich vermieden oder weeentlich vermindert werden.
Die in den Beispielen genannten Teile sind Gewichtsteile; die Temperaturen sind in Graden Celsius angegeben.

und 30 Teile N,N-Diäthylanilin werden mit 325 Teilen Phosphoroxychlorid
unter Zusatz von 30 Teilen Phosphorpentoxid etwa 8
Stunden bei ca. 80° verrührte Beim Erkalten entsteht ein
Kristallbrei, der in 2000 Teile Wasser eingetragen wird. Nach vollständiger Hydrolyse des Phosphoroxychloride wird die entstandene
tiefblaue Lösung mit 350 Teilen könäsentrierter Natronlauge
abgestumpft und zusätzlich mit 400 Teilen Kochsalz versetzt.

Das Ausgangsprodukt war folgendermaßen hergestellt worden:
23,6,Teile N-Äthy!naphtholactam werden bei einer Temperatur
unter 40° innerhalb einer Stunde in 108 Teile Chlorsulfonsäure eingetragen. Der Ansatz wird 30 Min. bei 80° gerührt und nach
dem Abkühlen auf 30° auf 600 Teile Eis ausgetragen. Das

gefallene Sulfochiorid wird abgesaugt, mit ^O Teilen JSisv/asser
gewaschen und in 75 Teilen konz. Ammoniaklösung 4 Stunden bei 50 - 60° gerührt. Der Ansatz wird mit 120 Teilen 15$iger Salzsäure
auf pH 5 gestellt, der-Niederschlag abgesaugt und bei
70° im Yakuum getrocknet. Man erhält 29,6 Teile N-ithyl~4-sulfonamido-naphtholaötam
vom Schmelzpunkt 215 - 216°. 29,6 Teile N-Äthyl-4-sulfonamido-naphtholactam werden in einer Lösung von
16,7.Teilen Phosphoroxychlorid in 35,8 Teilen Dimethylformamid
1 Stunde bei Raumtemperatur gerührt. Die Lösung wird in eine Mischung'von 430 Teilen 10biger Kochsalzlösung und 100 Teilen
Eis gegossen, der Niederschlag abgesaugt und bei 70° im Yakuum getrocknet. Man erhält 32,3 Teile 4(N"-N"-Dimethylformamidin-'
N'-sulfonyl-)N-äfchy!naphtholactam vom Schmelzpunkt 193 - 194°.
Anstelle des N-Äthyl-naphtholactams kann auch die jeweils
äquivalente Menge N-Methyl-, N-n-Butyl-, N-iso-Butyl-, N-n-.
Amyl-, N-iso-Amyl-, N-ß-Chloräthyl-, N-ß-Cyanäthyl-, N-ß-Methoxyäthyl-,
N-ß-Methoxycarbonyläthyl-, N-A'thoxycarbonylmethyl-
oder N-Oyclohexyl-naphtholactam- (1.8) eingesetzt
werden. Die so erhaltenen Verbindungen ergeben nach der Arbeitsweise des Beispiels 1 ebenfalls sehr wertvolle, coloristisch
ähnliche Farbstoffe.

so erhält man ebenfalls hervorragend echte neue Farbstoffe entsprechender Struktur.

und 45 Teile 1,3-Diphenyl-pyrazolin werden mit 450 Teilen Phosphoroxychlorid und 50 Teilen Phosphorpentoxid erwärmt. Die
Farbstoffbildung beginnt bei ca. 80°. Man hält die Mischung 24 Stunden auf etwa 90 - 95°, läßt erkalten und zersetzt das
überschüssige Kondensationsmittel mit etwa 500 Teilen Wasser unter guter Kühlung. Der dabei ausgeschiedene Farbstoff wird
durch Umkristallisieren aus Wasser unter Zusatz· von Kohle gereinigt. Er entspricht der Formel

Eine Mischung von 40 Teilen N-Methyl-phenoxazin, 66 !Dellen des in Beispiel 3 verwendeten Naphtholactam-derivates, 600 Teilen
Phosphoroxychlorid und 30 Teilen Phosphorpentoxid wird solange
bei etwa 90° verrührt, bis die Mischung zu einem steifen Kristallbre.i erstarrt; dies ist nach 3 bis 4 Stunden der EaIl.
Der erkaltete Kristallbrei wird mit Wasser zersetzt und der dabei erhaltene Niederschlag wird mit 10.- 20 000 Teilen Wasser
ausgekocht. Aus dem PiItrat scheidet sich beim Erkalten der

8,3 Teile des in Beispiel 3 verwendeten Naphtholactam-derivates
und 4,3 Teile Diphenylamin werden mit 10 Teilen Phosphoroxychlorid und 6 Teilen Zinntetrachlorid 10 Minuten auf 130° erhitzt.

•Dae verwendete Naphtholaetam-derivat war folgendermaßen hergestellt
worden:
170 Teile Naphtholactam-Cl^) werden in 600 Teilen Dimethylformamid
mit 60 Teilen gepulvertem Kaliumhydroxid verrührt. Bei 50 - 60° tropft man 130 Teile Benzylchlorid zu und rührt die
Mischung hernach zunächst 30 Minuten bei 60°, dann 1 Stunde bei 80° und schließlich 1 Stunde bei 110°. Nach dem Erkalten
verdünnt man mit 3000 Teilen Wasser, saugt ab, wäscht den Rückstand
mit Wasser und trocknet ihn bei etwa 60°. Man erhält 235,1 Teile rohes N-Benzyl-naphtholactam, welches zwischen
104- und 108° schmilzt. Eine aus Alkohol umkristallisierte Probe schmilzt bei 120 - 122°.
52 Teile N-Benzy!naphtholactam werden in 220 Teile Chlorsulfonsäure
bei Raumtemperatur eingetragen. Der Ansatz wird 2 Stunden bei 20 - 30° gerührt, in 2000 Teile Eis eingetragen und abgesaugt.
Der feuchte Rückstand wird in 200 Teilen konz. Ammoniaklösung 10 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur gerührt, mit Salzsäure
schwach sauer gestellt und abgesaugt. Der Rückstand wird mit Wasser gewaschen und.im Vakuum bei 70° getrocknet. Man erhält
61 Teile N-Benzy1-4-sulfonamido-naphtholactam von Schmelzpunkt

Das Chloroform wird abdestilliert, und zum Rückstand werden 400 Teile iO$ige Kochsalzlösung gegeben. Das Produkt wird abgesaugt,
mit Wasser gewaschen und bei 70° im Vakuum getrocknet. Das Produkt wird aus Methanol/Dimethylformamid umgelöst.
Man erhält 42 Teile der Verbindung der ersten Formel im Beispiel 8 vom Schmelzpunkt 138 - 140°e Verwendet man eins der
in folgender Tabelle angeführten, analog erhältlichen Naphtholactam-derivate anstelle des oben genannten, so erhält
man ebenfalls sehr wertvolle, coloristisch ähnliche neue Farbstoffe.

Das verwendete Naphtholactam-derivat war folgendermaßen erhalten
worden:
60 Teile N-Äthyl-4-sulfonamido-naphtholaetam werden in 200 Teilen
Orthoameisensäureester 15 Stunden unter Rückfluß gekocht. Nach
dem Abkühlen auf Raumtemperatur wird abgesaugt und der Rückstand mit 50 Teilen Methanol gewaschen. Man erhält 50 Teile der Verbindung

mit dem Schmelzpunkt 124 - 125 . 40 Teile dieser Verbindung werden
mit 60 Teilen N-Kethylbenzylamin 2 Stunden bei 50 gerührt. Es wird
auf Raumtemperatur abgekühlt, mit Methanol gewaschen und bei 70 im
Vakuum getrocknet. Man erhält 47»2 Teile der Verbindung der ersten
Formel im Beispiel 13 mit einem Schmelzpunkt von 180 - 181 .
41 Teile 2-Methoxy-diphenylamin und 66 Teile des in Beispiel 1 verwendeten
Naphtholactam-derivates werden mit 800 Teilen Phosphoroxychlorid und 100 Teilen Phosphorpentoxid 5 Stunden zum Sieden erhitzt. Die erkaltete
Mischung wird mit 6OOO Teilen Eiswasser hydrolysiert. Der ausgeschiedene
Farbstoff wird abgesaugt und durch Umkristallisieren aus Wasser unter Zusatz von 1-2 Teilen Aktivkohle gereinigt. Er entspricht

dem Erkalten wird das Quaternierungsprodukt abgesaugt und mit Toluol
oder Benzol gewaschen. Es entspricht der Formel

Beispiel 19 ^
In einen Färbebecher von 500 ml Inhalt, der sich in einem
bebeizten Wasserbad befindet, werden 0,75 g des Farbstoffs
der Formel des Beispiels 1 mit der 20-lachen Menge heißen
Wassers, unter Zusatz von etwas Essigsäure angeteigt und mit heißem Wasser gelöst. Die Färbeflotte erhält noch einen Zusatz
von 0,5 g des Einwirkungsproduktes von 5P Mol Äthylenoxid auf 1 Mol Oleylalkohol und wird mit kaltem Wasser auf 500 ml
aufgefüllt. Der pH-Wert der Färbeflotte wird mit Essigsäure oder Natriumacetat auf 4,5 bis 5 eingestellt.
In dieser Färbeflotte werden 10 g Stückware aus sauer
modifiziertem Polyamid ständig in Bewegung gehalten, während man in 15 Minuten die Temperatur auf 10O0C erhöht. Bei Kochtemperatur
färbt man 15 - 20 Minuten, spült das Material mit kaltem Wasser und trocknet es anschließend, z.B. durch
Bügeln oder im Trockenschrank bei 60 - 700C.
Man e'rhält ein rotstichig blau gefärbtes Material.
Ein Gewebe aus Polyacrylnitril wird mit einer Druckpaste
folgender Zusammensetzung bedruckt:
30 Teile des Farbstoffes der Formel des Beispiels
50 Teile Thiodiäthylenglykol
30 Teile Cyclohexanol
30 Teile 30#ige Essigsäure 500 Teile Kristallgummi
30 Teile wässrige Zinknitratlösung (d = 1,5) und
330 Teile Wasser.
Der erhaltene Druck wird getrocknet, 30 Minuten gedämpft und anschließend gespült. Man erhält einen brillanten, rotstichig
blauen Druck mit sehr guten Echtheitseigenschaften.
