Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein neues Verfahren zur Herstellung von makrocyclischen Ketonen.

sind bereits mehrere Verfahren zur Herstellung dieser Verbindungen bekannt, die jedoch ausnahmslos unbefriedigend
sind, da sie entweder zahlreiche Stufen umfassen und nur geringe Ausbeuten der gewünschten ,
Produkte liefern oder aber von schwer zugänglichen, teuren Ausgangsmaterialien ausgehen.
Es besteht daher ein Bedarf daran, Riechstoffe aus leichter zugänglichen und wohlfeilen Ausgangsmaterialien
auf neuen, einfacheren synthetischen Wegen herzustellen.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von makrocyclischen Ketonen der allgemeinen

Die ungesättigten Ketone der Formel I sind neue Stoffe, die interessante Riechstoffeigenschaften besitzen.
Ihr Geruch ist beträchtlich intensiver als derjenige der entsprechenden gesättigten Ketone.
Während die letzteren einen charakteristischen Moschusduft entwickeln, weisen die ungesättigten Ketone,
in welchen R Wasserstoff ist, einen an Zibeton erinnernden Geruch, und die ungesättigten Ketone,
in welchen R Methyl ist, einen mehr edelholzartigen Geruch auf.

Die Diketone IV sind gleichfalls neue Verbindungen, düngen der allgemeinen Formel
die auch interessante Riechstoffeigenschaften besitzen.
Bei der partiellen Reduktion der Diketone der CH2—C—C=O
allgemeinen Formel IV mittels Raney-Nickel wird
vorteilhaft als alkalisches Medium NaOH enthaltendes 5 (CH2J8

Bei der Dehydratisierung und Isomerisierung von Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel

in der R die vorstehende Bedeutung besitzt, können beispielsweise Schwefelsäure oder Phosphorsäure, Kaliumhydrogensulfat
oder Benzol- oder p-Toluolsulfonsäure verwendet werden.
Die Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel V oxydiert man unter Aufspaltung der Brückendoppelbindung
zu den Diketonen der allgemeinen Formel IV beispielsweise durch Ozonisierung, z. B. in alkoholischem
Medium, wie Methanol, und reduktive Spaltung des Ozonisierungsproduktes, z. B. mittels Natriumsulfit
oder Triphenylphosphin oder durch Hydrogenolyse mittels Palladium-Kohle-Katalysator.
Für die Oxydation der Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel V kann man auch Kaliumpermanganat verwenden.
Eine weitere Methode zur Herstellung der Diketone IV aus den Verbindungen der allgemeinen
Formel V besteht darin, daß man die letzteren epoxydiert, die erhaltenen Epoxyde der Formel

hydrolysiert und die entstandenen gesättigten bicyclischen «,^-Glykole mit glykolspaltenden Oxydationsmitteln,
z. B. Kaliumpermanganat, Bleitetraacetat oder Perhalogensäuren, spaltet.
Die Epoxyde der Formel XI sind neue Verbindüngen, die Riechstoffeigenschaften aufweisen und
eine fixierende Wirkung ausüben.
Die als Ausgangsmaterial verwendete Verbindung der Formel VIII, in welcher R Methyl ist, d. h. 14-Methyl
- bicyclo - [ 10,3,0] - pentadecen - [ 1 (12)] - on - (13),
kann auch dadurch erhalten werden, daß man Biciclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[l(12)]-on-(l3)
zunächst mit einem Dialkylcarbonat, z. B. Diäthylcarbonat, und anschließend mit einem Alkylhalogenid, z. B. Methyljodid,
umsetzt und das erhaltene Reaktionsprodukt unter decarboxylierend wirkenden Bedingungen verseift
oder daß man Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[l(12)]-on-(13) durch Umsetzungmit einer organischen
Base in das entsprechende Enamin überführt, das letztere mit einem Alkylhalogenid umsetzt und anschließend
mit einem die Carbonylgruppe freisetzenden Mittel behandelt.
Als Ausgangsmaterial für die vorangehend beschriebenen Synthesen dient letztlich Cyclododecanon,
das gegenüber den bisher zur Synthese von macrocyclischen Riechstoffen mit 15 Ringgliedern ver
wendeten Ausgangsstoffen außergewöhnliche Vorteile bietet. Cyclododecanon ist in ausgezeichneter Reinheit
und in unbeschränkten Mengen zu außerordentlich niedrigen Preisen zugänglich. Die Ringerweiterung
des Cyclodeodecanons auf 15 Ringglieder läßt sich technische in einfacher und wirtschaftlicher Weise
durchführen.
In den nachfolgenden Beispielen sind die Temperaturen in ° C angegeben.
a) Ein Gemisch aus 110,1g (0,5 Mol) Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[l(12)]-on-(13),
(VIII; R = H), 1 Liter Methanol, 40 g einer 30%igen alkoholischen Raney-Nickel-Suspension und 16 ml 10%igen Natronlauge
wird in einem 2-Liter-Schüttelkolben bei Raumtemperatur
hydriert. Nach 10 Stunden ist die Hydrierung unter Aufnahme der berechneten Menge von
21 Litern Wasserstoff beendet, nachdem absorbiert worden ist. Man filtriert das Hydrierungsgemisch vom
Katalysator ab und dampft das Lösungsmittel im Vakuum ab. Der Rückstand wird in Essigsäureäthylester
gelöst, mit 30 ml Eisessig angesäuert und in üblicher Weise aufgearbeitet. Man erhält so 108 g
eines bei 94—1000C schmelzenden Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecanols-(13),
(X; R = H). Nach dem Umkristallisieren aus Methanol schmilzt die Hauptmenge
des gesättigten bicyclischen Alkohols bei 104—105°.
b) In einen mit Rührer, Thermometer, Rückflußkühler und Wasserabscheider ausgerüsteten Dreihalskolben
von 2 Liter Inhalt gibt man 108 g des gemäß Beispiel la) erhaltenen rohen Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecanols-(13),
500 ml Toluol und 10 g 70%ige Benzolsulfonsäure. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird unter Rühren
4 Stunden unter Rückfluß gekocht. Im Wasserabscheider werden 11 ml Wasser aufgefangen. Man
kühlt das Reaktionsgemisch auf Raumtemperatur ab und wäscht es mit 200 ml 10%iger wäßriger Natriumbicarbonatlösung
und anschließend mit Wasser neutral. Nach dem Trocknen über Natriumsulfat und Entfernung des Lösungsmittels unter vermindertem
Druck (12 mm Hg) erhält man 100 g Rohprodukt, das einer fraktionierten Destillation unterworfen wird.
Man erhält 91,2g einer bei 75—8070,04 mm Hg
destillierenden Fraktion, die aus Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[l(12)]
(V; R = H) besteht.
c) Eine Lösung von 20,6 g(0,l Mol)Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[l(12)]
(V; R = H) und 0,2 g Rose Bengale in 50 ml Methanol und 50 ml Benzol werden in einer Belichtungsapparatur herkömmlicher Bauart
(vgl. zum Beispiel G. O. Schenck in A. Schönberg:
»Präparative organische Photochemie«, Springer Verlag, Göttingen 1958) unter Durchleiten von
reinem Sauersoff bei 20° mit einem Quecksilber-Hochdruckbrenner (Type Philipps HPK 125 Watt)
belichtet. Die Reaktion ist nach ca. 70 Minuten bei einer Absorption von 2300 ml Sauerstoff beendet.
Nach dem Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels im Vakuum bei einer Badtemperatur von 40° erhält man 23 g
(etwa 93% der theoretischen Ausbeute) eines teilweise kristallinen Gemisches von 1-Hydroperoxy-bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[12(13)]
und 1-Hydroperoxybicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[ll(12)].
Das Produkt zeigt KJ/Eisessig eine positive Hydroperoxydreaktion (Jodabscheidung).
IR-Spektrum: 3400 cm"1 (assoz. OOH-Valenz); 815 cm"1 (trisubst. C = C-Gruppe).
20 g des rohen Hydroperoxydgemisches werden in 200 ml absol. Äther gelöst. Man gibt der Lösung
unter Eiskühlung und unter Rühren tropfenweise 0,5 ml 40%iges BF3-Ätherat zu. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wird noch 2 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur gerührt und dann durch Zugabe von 10%iger wäßriger
Natriumbicaronatlösung zersetzt. Aus der abgetrennten ätherischen Phase erhält man 20 g Rohprodukt,
das destilliert wird. Man erhält 16,5 g eines bei 50—

130°/0,01 mm Hg überdestillierenden öligen Produktes,
aus welchem 11 g kristallines Cyclopentadecandion-(l,5),
(IV; R = H), gewonnen werden. Smp. 60—62°. Ausbeute: 55% der Theorie.
Löst man 20 g des gemäß Beispiel 1 c) hergestellten rohen Hydroperoxydgemisches in 50 ml Eisessig und
gibt der Lösung 1—5 Tropfen konz. Schwefelsäure zu,
so wird die augenblicklich einsetzende, exotherme Reaktion durch Eiskühlung so weit gebremst, daß die
Temperatur 20: nicht übersteigt. Gibt man nach etwa 20 Minuten weitere 5 Tropfen konz. Schwefelsäure zu,
rührt das Reaktionsgemisch 2 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur, destilliert nach Zugabe von 2 g Natrium
acetat den Eisessig im Vakuum ab, nimmt den Rückstand in 100 ml Äther auf und schüttelt die Lösung
mehrmals mit verdünnter Natriumbicarbonatlösung aus, so erhält man durch übliche Aufarbeitung 19 g
eines öligen Produktes, aus welchem durch fraktionierte Destillation bei 0,01 mm Hg 8,5 g (43% der
Theorie) eines bei 60—62° schmelzenden Cyclopentadecandions-(l,5)
(IV; R = H) gewonnen weraen.
d) In einem für Hydrierungen ausgerüsteten Rundkolben von 4 Liter Inhalt gibt man 119 g gewonnenes
Cyclopentadecandion-(1,5) (0,5 Mol), 2500 ml Methylalkohol, 50 g Raney-Nickel in Form einer 30%igen
alkoholischen Suspension und 25 ml 10%ige Natronlauge. Man schüttelt das Gemisch bei Raumtemperatur
und Barometerdruck in einer Wasserstoffatmosphäre etwa 45 Minuten, wobei 12,5 Liter Wasserstoff (theoretisch
erforderliche Menge = 11,2 Liter H2 bei 0/760 mm) absorbiert werden.
Das Hydrierungsgemisch wird filtriert, worauf das Lösungsmittel durch Destillation un^er vermindertem
Druck aus dem Destillat abgedampft wird. Der Rückstand wird mit Toluol und Äther verdünnt und
anschließend mit 10%igem wäßrigem Natriumbicarbonat und Wasser gewaschen. Nach dem Trocknen
über Natriumsulfat wird das Lösungsmittel unter vermindertem Druck abgedampft. Man erhält auf
diese Weise 120 g eines in überwiegender Menge Cyclopentadecanol-(5)-on-(l) enthaltenden Produktes,
e) In einen mit Rührwerk, Thermometer. Rückflußkühler und Wasserabscheider ausgerüsteten Kolben
von 4 Liter Inhalt gibt man das rohe Cyclopentadecanol-(5)-on-(l) (120 g), 2500 ml Toluol und 5 g
70%ige Benzolsulfonsäure. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird während V4 Stunde unter Rühren unter Rückfluß
erhitzt, und dann dekantiert. Die organische Phase wird mit 10%igem Natriumbicarbonat gewaschen und
anschließend über Natriumsulfat getrocknet. Nach dem Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels wird der Rückstand
destilliert. Man erhält 92,2 g eines bei 116—
15570,03 mm Hg überdestillierenden Produktes, das in überwiegender Menge aus einem Gemisch von
Cyclopentadecen-(4)-on-(l) und Cyclopentadecen-(5)-on-(l), in welchem der Anteil der trans-Isomeren
denjenigen der cis-Isomeren übersteigt, besteht.
Das erhaltene Rohprodukt kann wie folgt gereinigt werden: In einem Weithalskolben von 2 Liter Inhalt
gibt man einer Lösung von 92,2 g rohem Cyclopentadecen-(4 und -5)-on-(l) in 600 ml Lösung von 40 g
Semicarbazid-chlorhydrat in 200 ml 20%ige Natriumcarbonatlösung zu. Man erhitzt das Gemisch 1I4. Stunde
bei 45° und läßt es dann über Nacht im Kühlschrak stehen. Das niedergeschlagene kristalline Produkt wird
abgenutscht und dann mit gekühltem Äthanol, destilliertem Wasser und schließlich Äthanol gewaschen.
Das Produkt wird dann im Trockenschrank unter vermindertem Druck bei 100 getrocknet. Man erhält
auf diese Weise 75,1 g (Ausbeute 94,1 %) Semicarbazon,
das um 175 schmilzt.
Man rührt ein Gemisch von 300 ml 80%ige Phosphorsäure und 75,1 g des Semicarbazons von Cyclopentadecen-(4
und -5)-on-(l) während 30 Minuten bei Raumtemperatur. Man verdünnt das Reaktionsgemisch mit Wasser und extrahiert es mit Toluol.
Die organische Phase wird zuerst mit Wasser, dann ίο mit 10%iger wäßriger Natriumcarbonatlösung gewaschen
und über Natriumsulfat getrocknet. Durch Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels unter vermindertem
Druck erhält man 60,1 g rohes Cyclopentadecen-(4- und -5)-on-(l), das in einer Vigreux-Kolonne von
15 cm Höhe destilliert wird. Man gewinnt auf diese Weise 55,6 g eines bei 100—10270,003 mm Hg über
destillierenden Gemisches von reinem Cyclopentadecen-(4 und -5)-on-( 1), in welchem der Anteil der trans-Isomeren
überwiegt. Ausbeute an reinem Produkt: 50%, bezogen auf das eingesetzte Diketon.
f) Man löst 22 g eines größtenteils aus den trans-Isomeren von Cyclopentadecen-(4)-on-(l) und Cyclopentadecen-(5)-on-(l)
bestehenden Gemisches (Kp. = 102/0,03 mm Hg; Smp. = 30—33) in 250 ml Methylalkohol, gibt der Lösung 2 ml 10%iges wäßriges
Natriumhydroxyd und 5 g Raney-Nickel in Form einer 30%igen Suspension in Äthanol zu und
schüttelt die Mischung bei Raumtemperatur und Barometerdruck mit Wasserstoff. Die Hydrierung wird
unterbrochen, nachdem die theoretisch erforderliche Menge Wasserstoff absorbiert ist, wozu etwa 30 Minuten
erforderlich sind. Der durch Abfiltrieren des des Katalysators und Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels
erhaltene Rückstand wird in 200 ml Toluol aufgenommen. Die Lösung wird mit Wasser neutral gewaschen
und über Natriumsulfat getrocknet. Durch Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels und Destillation des
Rückstandes bei 100—10270,03 mm Hg erhält man in 95 bis 98%iger Ausbeute Cyclopentadecanon mit
einem Smp. von 63—65 \
Einer Lösung von 20 g Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[l(12)]
(V; R — H) in einer Mischung von 40 ml Aceton und 40 ml Eisessig gibt man unter Kühlung
(unter 15) und unter Rühren im Verlaufe einer Stunde
tropfenweise eine Lösung von 28 g Kaliumpermanganat in einer Mischung von 400 ml Aceton und
40 ml Wasser zu. Man rührt das Reaktionsgemisch 2 Stunden, nutscht den abgeschiedenen Braunstein
ab und wäscht den letzteren mit Aceton. Das Filtrat wird im Vakuum eingedampft, worauf der Rückstand
in Äther aufgenommen und die Lösung mit wäßrigem Natriumbicarbonat und dann mit Wasser gewaschen
und schließlich erneut eingedampft wird. Man erhält 17,5 g eines teilweise kristallinen Rückstandes, aus
***dem man durch Destillation i 1 g reines Cyclopentadecandion-(l,5)
(IV; R = H) vom Smp. 60^62°
gewinnt. Außerdem isoliert man 6 g reines Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecancis-diol-(l,
12) vom Smp. 87°, das mit Bleitetracetat umgesetzt, weitere 5,2 g Cyclopentadecandion-(l,5)
liefern kann.
In ein mit Rührwerk, Thermometer sowie Ein- und Auslässen für Gase ausgerüstetes zylindrisches Reaktionsgefäß,
dessen Auslaß in eine Kaliumjodid-Lösung eintaucht, gibt man 103,1 g (0,5 Mol) Bicyclo-[ 10,3,0]-
pentadecen-[l(12)](V;R = H) und 1,5 Liter Methylenchlorid.
In die Lösung leitet man unter Kühlen auf — 10° ein Ozon-Sauerstoff-Gemisch mit einer Geschwindigkeit
von 20 Liter pro Stunde (entsprechend 3 g Ozon pro Stunde) ein. Nach 6 Stunden unterbricht
man die Reaktion und läßt das Ozonisierungsgemisch über Nacht bei —10° stehen.
Man setzt dem auf 15° gehaltenen Ozonisierungsgemisch
eine Suspension von 10%igem Palladium-Kohle-Katalysator (enthaltend 0,8 g Palladium) in
50 ml Methylenchlorid zu und schüttelt das Gemisch in einer Wasserstoffatmosphäre in einem 3-Liter-Kolben.
Die Hydrierung wird nach 18 Stunden unterbrochen, nachdem 8 Liter Wasserstoff aufgenommen
worden sind. Das durch Abfiltrieren des Katalysators ,5
und Abdampfen des Lösungsmittels erhaltene Rohprodukt wird einer fraktionierenden Destillation bei
0,04 mm Hg unterworfen. Man erhält 78,8 g einer bei 120—140° siedenden Fraktion, die beim Stehen kristallisierte.
Durch Umkristallisieren dieses Produkes aus Petroläther erhält man 78,8 g reines Cyclopentadecandion
(1,5) (IV; R = H) vom Smp. 60—62°. Ausbeute: 65,6% der Theorie.
Werden 10,5 g Bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[l(12)] in 100 ml Lösungsmittelgemisch — bestehend aus
80 Teilen wasserfreiem Methanol und 20 Teilen Methylenchlorid — unter den in diesem Beispiel weiter
oben angegebenen Bedingungen 1 Stunde lang mit Ozon behandelt, läßt man die vollständig ozonisierte
Lösung anschließend zu einer wäßrigen Lösung von 25 g kristallwasserhaltigem Natriumsulfit in 250 ml
Wasser tropfen, wobei stark gerührt und äußerlich gekühlt wird, und trennt die organische Phase, nachdem
diese nicht mehr peroxydisch reagiert, nach dem Hinzufügen von 100 ml Petroläther in einem Scheidetrichter
ab, so erhält man nach üblicher Aufarbeitung 10,8 g reines Cyclopentadecandion-(1,5) vom Smp.
60—62°.

a) Das folgende Gemisch wurde in der im Beispiel 1 a,
beschriebenen Weise in einem 2-Liter-Schüttelkolben hydriert:
— 234 g (1 Mol) 14-Methyl-bicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[l(12)]-on-(13)
(VIII; R = CH3),
df = 0,9835; nl° = 1,5178.
— 100 g 30%ige aloholische Raney-Nickel-Suspension,
— 2000 ml Methanol,
— 10 ml 10%ige Natronlauge.
Die Hydrierung wurde bei Raumtemperatur durchgeführt. Nachdem man das Hydrierungsgemisch vom
Katalysator abfiltriert und das Lösungsmittel verdampft
hat wurde der Rückstand in Essigsäureäthylester gelöst. Nach den üblichen Wasch- und
Reinigungsverfahren [siehe Beispiel 1 a)] sowie Destillation erhielt man 240 g des rohen 2-Methylbicyclo-[
10,3,0]-pentadecanols-(l).
b) In einen mit Rührer, Thermometer, Rückflußkühler und Wasserabscheider ausgerüsteten Dreihalskolben
von 4 Liter Inhalt gab man
— 240 g des rohen bicyclischen Alkohols hergestellt unter a),
— 2000 ml Toluol,
— 40 g 70%ige Benzolsulfonsäure.
Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde 4V2 Stunden unter
Rückfluß gekocht, dann auf Raumtemperatur gebracht. Nach dem im Beispiel 1 b beschriebenen
Reinigungs- und Destillationsvorgang erhielt man 198 g einer bei 100—110°/0,2 mm Hg siedenden
Fraktion, die aus 2-Methyl-bicyclo-[l 0,3,0]-pentadecen-[4 (15)] (V; R = CH3) besteht.
df = 0,9141; nf = 1,5008.
df = 0,9141; nf = 1,5008.
MS:M+ = 220 (100); m/e = 206, 149, 135, 121, 107,
94, 81, 67, 55, 41.
c) Eine Lösung von HOg (0,5 Mol) 2-Methylbicyclo-[10,3,0]-pentadecen-[4(15)]
in 1 Liter Methylenchlorid wurde bei —10° mit einem Ozon-Sauerstoff-Gemisch,
wie im Beispiel 3 beschrieben, behandelt. Nach 7 Stunden unterbrach man die Reaktion und ließ
die Temperatur des Ozonierungsgemisches langsam bis + 10° steigen. Dieses Gemisch wurde nach dem
Zusetzen von 3 g einer 10%igen Palladium-Kohlen-Suspension 20 Stunden hydriert.
Nach Filtrieren des Katalysators und Destillation des Lösungsmittels erhielt man 99 g einer bei 125—
155o/0,2 mm Hg destillierenden Fraktion. Durch Umkristallisieren
dieses Produktes aus Petroläther erhielt man 88 g reines 3-Methyl-cyclo-pentadecandion-(l,5)
(IV; R = CH3) vom Smp. 48^9°. Ausbeute 70%
der Theorie.
MS:M+ = 252 (34); m/e = 237, 209, 195, 153, 142,
125,111,97,85,69,55,41.
d) und e) 63 g (0,25 Mol) 3-Methyl-cyclopentadecandion-(l,5)
wurden wie im Beispiel 1 d) beschrieben mit Hilfe von Raney-Nickel hydriert. Das so erhaltene
rohe 3-Methyl-cyclopentadecanol-(5)-on-(l) wurde dann in 500 ml Toluol gelöst und mit 1,25 g 70%iger
Benzolsulfonsäure unter Rückfluß gekocht. Nach den im Beispiel 1 e) beschriebenen Trenn- und Reinigungsverfahren
sowie Destillation erhielt man ca. 49 g einer bei 95—£8c/0,l mm Hg destillierenden
Fraktion, welche aus einem Gemisch 3-Methylcyclopentadecen-(4)-on-(l)
und 3-Methyl-cyclopentadecen-(5)-on-(l) besteht.
df = 0,9270; nf = 1,4877.
f) Man hydriert 23,5 g eines größtenteils aus den trans-Isomeren von 3-Methyl-cyclopentadicen-(4)-on-(1)
und 3-Methyl-cyclopentadecen-(5)-on-(l) (I; R = CH3) bestehenden Gemisches in der im Beispiel 1 f)
beschriebenen Weise und erhält nach Aufarbeitung des Hydrierungsgemisches und Destillation des Rückstandes
in etwa 95%iger Ausbeute racemisches 3-Methyl-cyclopentadecanon-(l), das die folgenden physikalischen
Eigenschaften aufweist:
d1? = 0,924; b'd 5 = 1,481. Das Semicarbazon des
Ketons schmilzt bei 134°.
Claims (6)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von makrocyclischen Ketonen der allgemeinen Formel

in welcher R Wasserstoff oder den Methylrest bedeutet, η 1 oder 2 ist, aber nur 2 benachbarte η ,5
gleichzeitig 1 sein dürfen und die Doppelbindung eis- oder trans-Konfiguration aufweist, dadurch
gekennzeichnet daß man
a) eine bicyclische Pentadecen-on-Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel

in welcher R die obengenannte Bedeutung besitzt, durch katalytische Hydrierung mittels Raney-Nickel
bei Raumtemperatur, normalem oder erhöhtem Druck, gegebenenfalls in alkalischem Medium, unter Verwendung von 2 Mol Wasserstoff
je Mol ungesättigtes Keton in die entsprechende bicyclische, gesättigte Verbindung der allgemeinen

b) diese Verbindung mittels anorganischer Säuren oder saurer Salze bzw. aromatischer Sulfonsäuren
durch Dehydratisierung und Isomerisierung der entstehenden Doppelbindung, in eine Bicyclopentadecen-Verbindung
der allgemeinen Formel

c) diese Verbindung durch Oxydation unter Aufspaltung der Brückendoppelbindung oder
durch Epoxydierung von dieser und anschließender Hydrolyse und Spaltung der entstandenen gesättigten
bicyclischen «,^-Glykole mit glykolspaltenden
Oxydationsmitteln in eine Diketonver-
bindung der allgemeinen Formel

in welcher R die obengenannte Bedeutung besitzt, überführt,
d) diese in an sich bekannter Weise durch partielle Reduktion mit vorteilhaft Raney-Nickel
bei normaler Temperatur, normalem oder erhöhtem Druck, vorteilhaft in alkalischem Medium,
unter Anwendung von 1 Mol Wasserstoff je Mol Diketon oder in Gegenwart eines Edelmetallkatalysators,
gegebenenfalls in saurem Medium in die entsprechende Ketoalkoholverbindung überführt,
e) aus dieser mittels Mineralsäuren, sauren Salzen oder aromatischen Sulfonsäuren in üblicher
Weise Wasser abspaltet und gegebenenfalls
f) die erhaltene Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel

in der R die obenangegebene Bedeutung besitzt und eines der Symbole η 1 und das andere 2 ist,
in an sich bekannter Weise, vorteilhaft in Gegenwart von Raney-Nickel oder Edelmetallen, bei
normalem oder erhöhtem Druck bei Raumtemperatur oder erhöhter Temperatur katalytisch
hydriert.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß in Stufe b) Schwefelsäure oder
Phosphorsäure, Kaliumhydrogensulfat bzw. Benzol- oder p-Toluolsulfonsäure verwendet werden.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Oxydation der Reaktionsstufe c)
durch Ozonisierung, insbesondere in alkoholischem Medium, und reduktive Spaltung des Ozonisierungsproduktes,
insbesondere durch Natriumsulfit oder Triphenylphosphin, oder durch Hydrogenolyse,
insbesondere mit einem Palladium-Kohle-Katalysator, durchgeführt wird.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Oxydation der Reaktionsstufe c)
mit Kaliumpermanganat durchgeführt wird.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Oxydation der Reaktionsstufe c)
zunächst mit molekularem Sauerstoff in Gegenwart von sauerstoffübertragenden Sensibilisatoren
durchgeführt wird und anschließend das erhaltene Gemisch von Hydroperoxyden mit einer Broensted-
oder Lewis-Säure oder mit einem Reagens, das von einer niedrigeren in eine höhere Oxydationsstufe
überführbar ist, oder mit Wärme behandelt wird.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 5, dadurch

gekennzeichnet, daß zur Wasserabspaltung Schwefelsäure oder Benzolsulfonsäure verwendet wird.
