Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft wasseremulgierbae, flüssige ölkonzentrate, die als Gleitmittel für
•Ormen, die zur Herstellung geformter Glasgegenstän-Ie
verwendet werden, geeignet sind. Diese ölkonzenrate eignen sich zur Herstellung von öl-in-Wasserimuisionen
mit hohem Wassergehalt, die das Ankleben les geschmolzenen Glases an der Metallform verhinlern.
Beim Formpressen von Glasflaschen wird geschmolenes Glas bei Temperaturen von ungefähr 982° C bis
2040C in eine mehrteilige Eisenform, die gewöhnlich auf einer Temperatur von ungefähr 3710C bis 5380C,
wie beispielsweise 4660C, gehalten wird, eingebracht. Die Eisenform wird dann umgekehrt und Druckluft in
die Form geblasen, um das geschmolzene Glas in der Form zu verteilen, wodurch das Glas geformt wird.
Während dieser Verformung kühlt sich das Glas ab und beginnt hart zu werden. Die beiden Hälften der Form
werden dann getrennt und der heiße Glasgegenstand entfernt. Dann werden die beiden Hälften der Form
erneut zusammengebracht, im Inneren der Form ein Gleitmittel verteilt und das Verfahren wiederholt.
Glasverformungsverfahren der soeben beschriebenen Art werden häufig in automatischen Formpreßmaschinen
durchgeführt, wobei die gebräuchlicheren zwei Formen verwenden. Jede dieser Formen kann in
ungefähr einem Zweisekunden-Takt arbeiten, so daß die Maschine jede Sekunde einen geformten Glasgegenstand
herstellen kann. Das Gleitmittel wird gewöhnlich über einen, in einem Vollkreis von 360° sprühenden
Sprühkopf in die Form eingesprüht, wobei der Sprühkopf in die zusammengefügte Form eingetaucht
und dann während des Sprühens herausgezogen wird. Nach dem Stande der Technik ist oftmals zur Ergänzung
der oben beschriebenen, automatischen Aufbringung des Gleitmittels ein von Hand durchgeführtes Auftragen
notwendig. Immer wenn der Bedienungsmann der Gießmaschine feststellt, daß Glas an einem Formteil
haftet, muß dieses Teil manuell mit zusätzlichem Gleitmittel bestrichen werden. Bei einem typischen
technischen Arbeitsverfahren muß ein Aufbringen von Gleitmittel von Hand bei jeder Form etwa viertel- oder
halbstündlich erfolgen.
Im allgemeinen sollte ein zur Verwendung in Glasformen vorgesehenes Gleitmittel einen Siedepunkt
aufweisen, der hoch genug ist, daß nicht unzumutbare Mengen des Gleitmittels vor der Glaszugabe aus der
Form verdampfen. Ferner sollte das Gleitmittel keine Ablagerungen durch seinen Zerfall an der Formoberfläche
bilden, und es sollte außerdem die erforderliche Gleitfähigkeit besitzen sowie die Fähigkeit, die Form
und das Glas zu benetzen. Derartige Gleitmittel sollten auch relativ billig und ohne Schwierigkeiten transportierbar
sein. Obwohl viele Materialien einen geeigneten Siedepunkt und eine ausreichende thermische Stabilität
besitzen, haben jedoch nur wenige die zusätzliche Fähigkeit, eine Glasform in erforderlichem Maße
gleitend zu machen.
Aus Petrolölen mit sehr hohem Molekulargewicht (ζ. Β einem Molekulargewicht von 690) können
ausgezeichnete Gleitmittel mit den für das Glasformpressen gewünschten Eigenschaften hergestellt werden.
Derartige öle sind jedoch trotz ihrer hervorragenden Eigenschaften zu viskos, um unmittelbar versprüht zu
werden. Lösungen dieser öle mit hohem Molekulargewicht in Kohlenwasserstoffen (z. B. eine Lösung von 5
bis 10Gew.-% öl in einem leichten Mineralöl mit einer
Viskosität von 40 SUS bei 990C) ergaben zwar ein zufriedenstellendes Gleitverhalten, waren aber in
hohem Maße rauchbildend. Diese letztere Eigenschaft ist von größter Bedeutung, Diese Rauchbildung, die
auch bei Verwendung von allen anderen bekannten Gleitmitteln auf ölbasis auftritt, führte während der
Testversuche in einem gut belüfteten Laboratorium zu einer erheblichen Belästigung des Personals, obgleich
nur etwa 5 bis 10 g öl verbraucht und weniger als die
Hälfte dieser Menge verdampft wurde.
Zur Verhinderung der Rauchbildung ist es notwendig, einen großen Teil des Öls mit. hohem Molekulargewicht
entweder durch ein flüchtiges Lösungsmittel oder durch Wasser zu ersetzen. Leichtes Naphta und ähnliche
Lösungsmittel sind jedoch wegen der Feuergefahr und chlorierte Lösungsmittel wegen der Toxizität unzulässig.
Die einzige Lösung bestand daher darin, das Öl mit hohem Molekulargewicht in Wasser zu emulgieren.
V/iederholte Versuche, herkömmliche Emulgiermittel in üblicher Weise zu verwenden, blieben jedoch ohne
Erfolg, da man keine Emulgiermittel für das öl mit hohem Molekulargewicht fand, die mit diesem ausreichend
verträglich waren, um die Herstellung eines kommerziell annehmbaren Produktes zu ermöglichen.
Die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung bestand daher darin, ein wasseremulgierbares, flüssiges ölkonzentrat
zu schaffen, das beim Verdünnen stabile Öl-in-Wasser-Emulsionen liefert, die ein Anhaften von
geschmolzenem Glas an der Form verhindern und so ein manuelles Auftragen überflüssig machen, im Gebrauch
keine Rauch- und Qualmbildung zeigen, die Feuergefahr herabsetzen und eine, für das Versprühen in die Form
geeignete Viskosität aufweisen.
Diese Aufgabe wurde nun durch die erfindungsgemäßen wasseremulgierbaren, flüssigen ölkonzentrate
gelöst.
Das erfindungsgemäße, wasseremulgierbare, flüssige ölkonzentrat besteht aus
1) 40 bis 94 Gew.-% eines Petroleumbasismaterials aus
a) Petroleum-Brightstock mit einem Durchschnittsmolekulargewicht von ungefähr 550 bis
900 und
b) einem Kohlenwasserstofflösungsmittel in einer Menge von 0 bis 40 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das
Gewicht des Petroleumbasismaterials und
2) mindestens 6 Gew-% einer Kombination von oberflächenaktiven Mitteln aus
a) mindestens 0,5 Gew.-% eines Reaktionsproduktes von 2 bis 20 Mol eines C2-Cj-Olefinoxids
mit 1 Mol eines Cio-Qo-aliphatischen Alkohols,
einer Cio —C2o-aliphatischen Säure, eines Cm —C2c-aliphatischen Amids, eines Cto—Cmaliphatischen
Amins oder eines Mono- oder Dialkylphenols mit 8 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen in den Alkylgruppen oder eines Gemisches
derselben,
b) mindestens 0,5 Gew.-% eines neutralisierten, phosphorsulfurierten Polyolefins einer Alkenylbernsteinsäure
oder deren Anhydrid oder einer neutralisierten Alkenylbernsteinsäure oder deren
Anhydrid, worin das Polyolefin und die Alkenylgruppen mit einem Molekulargewicht
von 400 bis 3000 durch Polymerisation eines C2 — Cs-Olefins erhalten worden sind, und
c) mindestens 0,5 Gew.-% eines Q-C^-aliphatischen
Alkohols, Cyclohexanols, eines Ci-CU-Alkylcyclohexanols oder eines Mono- oder
Dialkylphenols mit 4 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen in der Alkylgruppe als Kupplungsmittel.
Ein besonders bevorzugtes Ölkonzentrat gemäß Erfindung ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es eine
Kombination oberflächenaktiver Mittel aus einem mit einem Amin neutralisierten Aikenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid,
einem Polyoxyäthylendioleat als alkoxylierter Fettsäure, einem äthoxylierten Ce-Cn-Alkylphenol,
einem äthoxylierten Ci6-Ci3-aliphatischen Amin und Cyclohexanol enthält.
Es wurde gefunden, daß die Verwendung von einem der drei Bestandteile der Kombination von oberflächenaktiven
Mitteln allein nicht zufriedenstellend wirkt.
Nach einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform der vorliegenden Erfindung sollte das erfindungsgemäße
Ölkonzentrat jedes der äthoxylierten Materialien in einer Menge von wenigstens 2.0 Gew.-%, bezogen auf
das Gesamtgewicht des ölkonzentrats, enthalten.
Die ölkonzentrate der vorliegenden Erfindung sollen im allgemeinen, wie bereits oben erwähnt, 40 bis 94
Gew.-%, bevorzugt aber 60 bis 90 Gew.-%, und insbesondere 70 bis 85 Gew.-% eines Petroleum-Brightstocks
mit einem Durchschnittsmolekulargewicht von ungefähr 550 bis 900 enthalten.
Die Menge an Kohlenwasserstofflösungsmittel kann 0 bis 40 Gew.-°/o, z. B. 15 bis 40 Gew.-°/o des Gemisches
von Lösungsmittel und Petroleum-Brightstock betragen. Die Menge der Kombination von oberflächenaktiven
Mitteln in dem ölkonzentrat beträgt vorzugsweise 10bis30Gew.-%.

allgemeinen 1 bis 20 Volumteilen Wasser, beispielsweise mit 5 bis 15 Volumteilen Wasser pro Volumen

einfaches Mischen von Wasser mit dem ölkonzentrat ausreichend, um eine zur Verwendung als Glasformgleitmittel
geeignete Emulsion herzustellen. Praxisversuche haben gezeigt, daß das erfindungsgemäße
ölkonzentrat bei Verdünnungen von 5 bis 13:1
optimale Ergebnisse liefert.
Die in den erfindungsgemäßen ölkonzentraten enthaltenen Petrolöle hohen Molekulargewichts sind
öle mit einem Durchschnittsmolekulargewicht von ungefähr 550 bis 900, üblicherweise von 575 bis 800 und
bevorzugt von 600 bis 700. Die in den Ölzubereitungen gemäß Erfindung enthaltenen Brightstocks haben
hervorragende Eigenschaften und stammen von den entwachsten und entasphaltierten Rückständen irgendeines
Ftohöls ab. Diese Brightstocks können gewöhnlich eine Viskosität von ungefähr 120 bis 300 SUS bei 99°C
aufweisen. Ein typischer bevorzugter Brightstock kann einen Siedepunkt über der Verformungstemperatur
besitzen, z. B. einen Siedebereich bei atmosphärischem Druck von ungefähr 482°C (wobei 5 Vol.-°/o abdestilliert)
bis 593° C, wobei 50 bis 75 Vol.-% abdestilliert. Diese repräsentativen Siedepunkte werden nach dem
ASTM-Verfahren D-1160 bei 1 Torr gemessen und dann
auf die Siedepunkte bei atmosphärischem Druck umgerechnet. Es wurde gefunden, daß die beiden
bevorzugten Brightstocks die nachfolgenden Eigenschaften haben:

Beide in der Tabelle I beschriebenen öle werden bei weiterem Erhitzen gecrackt.
Die nach der vorliegenden Erfindung verwendbaren Kohlenwasserstofflösungsmittel umfassen beispielsweise
Virginnaphthas von paraffinischen Rohölen, raffinierte Naphtha paraffinischer oder naphthenischer Herkunft,
normale oder verzweigkettige Paraffine, Aromaten, alkylierte Aromaten u. dgl. Vorzugsweise liegt der
Flammpunkt des ausgewählten Lösungsmittels über 38° C. Vorzugsweise soll das Lösungsmittel eine niedere
Viskosität haben, so daß 40 Gew.-% oder weniger Lösungsmittel ausreichend ist, um eine Viskosität von
weniger als 400 SUS bei 38° C für das Lösungsmittel- und Olgemisch zu liefern. Bevorzugte Lösungsmittel
sind Lösungsmittelnaphthas (z. B. ein SCVextrahiertes Virginnaphta), Lösungsmittelalkylate (z. B. ein Isobutanalkylat)
und aromatische Lösungsmittel (z. B. ein gemischtes aromatisches Lösungsmittel mit einem
atmosphärischen Siedebereich von ungefähr 160 bis 1820C).
Die mit dem C2 - C3-Olefinoxid umgesetzten aliphatischen
Säuren umfassen die aliphatischen Säuren mit von 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen. Fettsäuren werden
bevorzugt, wie Säuren einschließlich Laurin-, Palmitin-, Stearin- und Oleinsäuren und ähnliche. Das durch
Umsetzen von 8 Mol Äthylenoxid mit 1 Mol Oleinsäure und durch nachfolgendes Verestern der freien Hydroxygruppe
des Produkts mit einem zusätzlichen Mol Oleinsäure gebildete Polyxyäthylendioleat wird bevorzugt.
Die gemäß Erfindung verwendbaren aliphatischen Alkoholderivate umfassen solche Produkte, die von
Alkoholen mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen erhalten werden. Fettalkohole werden bevorzugt; spezifische
Beispiele dieser Alkohole umfassen n-Dodecyl-, n-Tetradecyl-, n-Cetyl-, n-Octadecyl-, Oleylalkohole und
ähnliche. Die äthoxylierten Derivate der normalen Ci6 — Ci8-primären Alkohole werden besonders bevorzugt.
Aus dem Oxoverfahren herrührende Alkohole, wie der Ci 3-Alkohol, sind ebenso geeignet.
Die gemäß Erfindung verwendbaren aliphatischen Aminderivate umfassen Produkte, die von aliphatischen
Aminen mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen hergestellt werden. Beispiele dieser Materialien umfassen Fettamine,
wie Laurylamin, Cetylamin, Octadecylamin, Eicosylamin, Oleylamin und ähnliche. Die äthoxylierten
Derivate der normalen C|b—Cig-primären Amine
werden bevorzugt.
Die aliphatischen Amidderivate, die für die Verwendung in dieser Erfindung geeignet sind, umfassen die von
den obenerwähnten aliphatischen Säuren herrührenden Amide.
Die Alkylphenole, die mit Äthylenoxid oder Propylenoxid umgesetzt werden, umfassen die Mono- oder
Dialkylphenole mit 8 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen in der Alkylgruppe. Spezifische Beispiele umfassen unter
anderem p-Octylphenol, Nonylphenol, Dinonylphenol,
p-Dodecylphenol, Didodecylphenol und ähnliche. Äthoxylierte
p-Nonylphenole wurden als besonders wirksam
gefunden.
Der zweite wesentliche Bestandteil der Kombination von oberflächenaktiven Mitteln ist eine polymere Säure
hohen Molekulargewichts, die neutralisiert ist. Die hier vorgesehenen Materialien gehören dem Typ an, wie sie
als Detergentien bei Motorölen verwendet werden. Sie basieren auf Polymerisaten von Q-Cs-Olefinen, worin
das Polymerisat ein Molekulargewicht (Staudinger) von
400 bis 3000, geeigneter von 700 bis 1400, hat. Die Säureformen dieser Polymerisate werden durch Reaktion
der Polymerisate mit P2S5 oder mit Maleinsäureanhydrid erhalten, wie dies aus der Schmiertechnik
bekannt ist. P2S5-behandeltes Polybuten- und Polybutenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid,
oder die entsprechende Säure, werden bevorzugt. Ein geeignetes Material ist PoJyisobutenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid oder die entsprechende
Säure, die als solche, oder umgesetzt mit einem Amin oder Alkohol, verwendet werden können; die
Isobutenylgruppe hat vorzugsweise ein Molekulargewicht im Bereich von 400 bis 3000. Materialien dieser
Art sind in der britischen Patentschrift 9 22 831 offenbart. Die Neutralisation der oben beschriebenen
Säurederivate kann mit üblichen Basen (z. B. Natriumhydroxid, Kaliumhydroxid u. dgl.) oder mit Aminen (z. B.
Triäthanolamin) durchgeführt werden. Man kann vor der Zugabe der Säurederivate zu dem öl mit hohem
Molekulargewicht oder in situ in dem öl neutralisieren. Viele Aminderivate des Monoalkenylbernsteinsäureanhydrids
sind kommerziell verfügbar und sind für die erfindungsgemäßen ölkonzentrate gut geeignet. Bevorzugte,
für die Neutralisation geeignete Amine sind Alkyl- und Alkanolamine (z. B. Triäthanolamin) und
Äthylendiamine (z. B. Tetraäthylpentamm). Die Äthy-
lendiamine mit 1 bis 5 Äthylenresten werden besonders bevorzugt. Es können zur Neutralisation auch Amingemische
und auch Ammoniak verwendet werden. Andere, die Bernsteinsäurederivate unter Esterbildung
neutralisierende Mittel sind beispielsweise Alkohole, vorzugsweise Äthylendiamintetraäthanol.
Der dritte wesentliche Bestandteil der Kombination von oberflächenaktive Mitteln ist ein Kupplungsmittel.
Kupplungsmittel dienen dazu, in der oberflächenaktiven Monoschicht Unordnung zu schaffen, wodurch sie dafür
sorgen, daß die oberflächenaktiven Mittel wirksamer werden. Es hat den Anschein, daß ein Kupplungsmittel
in der Monoschicht des oberflächenaktiven Mittels Spalten erzeugt, wobei diese Spalten bzw. Zwischenräume
dann mit Wasser und/oder öl gefüllt werden Cyclohexanol ist als Kupplungsmittel extrem wirksam
während Isopropanol, Mono-, Di- und Triäthylenglykol Glycerin und Butan-1,3-diol, wenn sie allein verwendet
werden, nicht zufriedenstellend sind. Cyclohexanol kanr ersetzt werden durch C4-Ce-tertiäre Alkohole (ζ. Β
tert.-Butanol und tert.-Amylalkohol) und C, -C4-Alkyl
cyclohexanole. Gemische dieser Kupplungsmittel kön nen ebenso verwendet werden.
Den erfindungsgemäßen Ölkonzentraten könner auch verschiedene andere Additive wahlweise ii
wechselnden Mengen zugegeben werden. Beispiel« solcher Additive umfassen Molybdändisulfid, Bornitru
und Silicium-enthaltende Materialien; Oxidationsinhibi toren wie 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-methylphenol; Additiv«
zur Verhinderung des Bakterien- oder Pilzwuchses wie Trihydromethylnitromethan u. dgl.
Erfindungsgemäße Zubereitungen und solche für Vergleichszwecke wurden durch einfaches Mischen des
Basisöls mit der Kombination von oberflächenaktiven Mitteln hergestellt; die Mengen der Bestandteile
werden in Gewichtsteilen angegeben. Bei dem Stabilitätstest wird 1 Volumteil ölkonzentrat mit 10
Volumteilen destilliertem oder hartem Wasser verdünnt und zur Bildung einer stabilen Öl-in-Wasser-Emulsion
gerührt. Die Zubereitungen A bis C und G bis N sind erfindungsgemäße ölzubereitungen, während die Zubereitungen
D bis F Vergleichszubereitungen sind, die nicht den Erfordernissen der Erfindung entsprechen.
Die Zeichnung »Creme« oder »leichte Creme« ist der Typ mit geringster, nicht einwandfreier Abtrennung;
»schwere Creme« und »ölige Creme« gibt Zwischentypen der Abtrennung an, während die Bezeichnung
»freies öl« den schlechtesten Abtrenniingstyp darstellt.
Die für jede Zubereitung aufgezeigten Zahlen geben die Ergebnisse, die durch ein minutenlanges Schütteln einer
wäßrigen Emulsion des Konzentrats und dann durch Absitzenlassen während der angegebenen Zeitdauer
erhalten wurden. Die Art und Menge der Abtrennung in Millimeter in verschiedenen Zeitintervallen wird in den
nachfolgenden Tabellen II, III und IV angegeben.

Es wurde ein Gemisch aus 50 Teilen Brightstock mit einem Molekulargewicht von 600 bis 700, 6 Teilen
PIBSA/TEBA, 6,5 Teilen äthoxylierter Oleinsäure, 3,5
Teilen äthoxyliertem Octylphenol, 3,0 Teilen äthoxyliertem Oleylamin, 4,0 Teilen Natriumsulfonat und 2,0
Teilen Cyclohexanol hergestellt. Diese Materialien hatten die gleiche chemische Zusammensetzung wie die
Materialien, die zur Herstellung des erfindungsgemäßen üikonzentrats A in Tabelle Il verwendet wurden. Das
vorliegende Gemisch enthielt jedoch kein Lösungsmittel. Bei der Herstellung der Emulsion wurden 7,5 ml
dieses Konzentrats durch heftiges, mechanisches Rühren mit 92,5 ml hartem Wasser (300 ppm CaCIj)
emulgicrt und die Abtrennung in ml nach folgenden Zelten bestimmt:

Aus den E.gebnisson der Beispiele 1 und 2 1st zu
ersehen, daß zufriedenstellende Emulsionen aus Bright· stock hergestellt werden können, wenn man die
angegebene Kombination von oberflächenaktiven Mit· leln einsetzt und daß die sich ergebenden Emulsionen
eine ausreichende Stabilität, sowohl In destilliertem als
es auch in hartem Wasser aufweisen.
Obwohl die erflndungsgemaßen wasseremulglerba·
ren flüssigen ölkonzentrate in erster Linie brauchbare
Schmiermittel für das Glasgießverfahren sind, können

sie auch für andere Zwecke eingesetzt werden. wo sie als Formtrennmittel wirken. Die erfindungsge-
Beispielsweise können diese ölkonzentrate ebenso zur mäßen Ölkonzentrate können ferner auch als Schmier-

Claims (3)
1. Wasseremulgierbares, flüssiges ölkonzentrut,
bestehend aus
1) 40 bis 94 Gew.-% eines Petroleumbasismaterials aus
a) Petroleum-Brightstock mit einem Durchschnittsmolekulargewicht von ungefähr 550
bis 900 und ι ο
b) einem Kohlenwasserstofflösungsmittel in einer Menge von 0 bis 40 Gew.-%, bezogen
auf das Gewicht des Petroleumbasismaterials und
2) mindestens 6 Gew.-% einer Kombination von oberflächenaktiven Mitteln

mit 1 Mol eines Cio—C2o-aliphatischen
Alkohols, einer Cio-C2o-aliphatisehen
Säure, eines Cio-Cjo-aliphatischen Amids, eines Cio-C2o-aliphatischen Amins
oder eines Mono- oder Dialkylphenols mit 8 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen in den Alkylgruppen
oder eines Gemisches derselben
b) mindestens 0,5 Gew.-% eines neutralisierten, phosphorsulfuriertcn Polyolefins einer
Alkenylbernsteinsäure oder deren Anhydrid oder einer neutralisierten Alkenylbernsteinsäure
oder deren Anhydrid, worin das Polyolefin und die Alkenylgruppen mit einem Molekulargewicht von 400 bis 3000
durch Polymerisation eine.» C2-Cs-Olefins
erhalten worden sind, und
c) mindestens 0,5 Gew.-% Q-C^-aliphatisehen
Alkohols, Cyclohexanols, eines Ci — C4-Alkylcyclohexanols oder eines
Mono- oder Dialkylphenols mit 4 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen in der Alkylgruppe als Kupplungsmittel.
2. ölkonzentrat gemäß Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es eine Kombination oberflächenaktiver
Mittel aus einem mit einem Amin neutralisierten Alkenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid,
einem Polyoxyäthylendioleat als alkoxylierter Fettsäure, einem äthoxylierten C8-Ci2-AIkylphenol,
einem äthoxylierten C|b-Ci8-alipahtischen Amin
und Cyclohexanol enthält.
3. ölkonzentrat gemäß den Ansprüchen 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es jedes der äthoxylierten
Materialien in einer Menge von wenigstens 2,0 Gew.-%, bezogen auf das Gesamtgewicht des
ölkonzentrats, enthält.
