Diese Erfindung betrifft Zubereitungen, die geeignet sind
zur Soiimierung von Formea, die zur Herstellung geformter
Glasgegeaatände, verwendet werden. Im besonderen betrifft
diese Erfindung ül-in-Waaseremulaionen, die aus Petrolölen
nohen Molefculargewiohts hergestellt werden, wobei die Emulsionen
zur Schmierung von Metallformen, welche zumG-lasformpresatn
verwendet werden, brauchbar sind. Diese

DChmiermittel vernindern das Ankleben des geschmolzenen
Glases an der hetallform.
Beim Formpressen von Glasflaschen wird geschmolzenes Glas bei Temperaturen von ungefähr 1600° bis 22000F ( 982 0Q bis
•1204 0C) in eine mehrteilige jiisenform tropfen lassen, die
gewöhnlich bei einer Temperatur von ungefähr 700° bis 100O0F (371° bis 5380G), wie Ö7O°F (466 0O) gehalten wird.
Die Eisenform wird dann umgekehrt und Druckluft in die Form geblasen, um das geschmolzene Glas längs der Abgrenzungen
der Form zu verteilen, wodurch das Glas geformt wird. Während dieser Verformungszeitdauer kühlt sich das Glas ab
und beginnt zu härten. Sie beiden Hälften der Form werden dann getrennt und der heiße Glasgegenstand entfernt. Dann
werden die beiden Hälften der Form erneut zusammengebracht, im Inneren der Form ein Schmiermittel verteilt und das
Verfahren wiederholt.
Glasverformungsverfahren der soeben beschriebenen Art werr
den häufig in automatischen Formpressmaschinen durchgeführt, wobei die gebräuchlicheren zwei Formen verwenden.
Jede dieser Formen kann in ungefähr einem Zwei-oekunden-Zeiträum
arbeiten, sodaB die Haschine jede Sekunde einen geformten Glasgegenstand herstellen kann. Das &enmiermittel
wird gewöhnlich in die Form über einen sprühkopf, der in 360° umkreis sprüht, eingesprüht, wobei der Sprühkopf in

die liefe der zusammengefügten Form eingebracht und dann
während dem Sprünen herausgezogen wirdo Nach dem Stand der
'iechnik ist ein von Hand erfolgendes Auftragen bei der
Form oftmals zur Ergänzung der oben beschriebenen, automatischen aufbringung des schmiermittels notwendig. So wird,
wenn die Aufsicht der Gießmaschine feststellt, daß Glas an einem ü)eil der Form haftet, sie diesen !eil der Form manuell
mit zusätzlichem Schmiermittel bestreichen. Bin typisches, kommerzielles arbeitsverfahren wird das Aufbringen
von Hand jeder Form etwa viertel- oder halbstündlich beinhalten.
äs besteht daher ein Bedürfnis nach besseren Schmiermitteln
als denen, diezur Zeit- bestehen, wobei diese besseren Schmiermittel das geschmolzene Glas am Anhaften an den Formen
verhindern wurden und dadurch die Anzahl an Verlangsamungen und Handauftragen ausschalten oder reduzieren würden.
Wünschenswerterweise sollten solche verbesserte Schmiermittel ebenso die Anzahl an Ausschuß, Feuergefahr
und so weiter verringern.
Im allgemeinen sollte irgendein zur 'Verwendung in Glasformen
vorgesehenes Schmiermittel einen Siedepunkt haben, der hoch genug ist, daß nicht unzumutbare Mengen des Schmiermittels
aus der Form verdampfen, bevor das Glas zugegeben ist; es sollte nicht unter Bildung dicker Ablagerungen

an der E'ormoberflache zum Zerfall gebracht werden, und es
sollte die notwendige b'chmierfähigkeit, einschließlich
der Fähigkeit die Form und das Glas anzufeuchten haben. Um
ideal zu sein, sollten solche bchmiermittel relativ billig
und leicht von einem Ort zum andern, zum iieispiel vom Hersteller
zum Verbraucher, zu transportieren sein. Während viele Materialien den notwendigen »siedepunkt und thermische
btabilität haben, haben wenige die zusätzliche Fähigkeit, ausreichend, eine Glasforrn zu schmieren.
Äusg'ezeicnnete bchmierraittel mit den für das Glasgießen gew
au seifen Eigenschaften können aus ±Jetrolö'ien mit sehr hohem
Molekulargewicht (zum Beispiel 690 Molekulargewicht) hergestellt v/erden, solche ule waren, während sie hervorragende
£,i ^ en schäften haben wenn sie allein verwendet werden, zu
viskos, um Kommerziell bedeutend zur Zeit verwendet zu werden (d.h. sie waren zu viskos, um unmittelbar versprüht zu

werden). Kohlenwasserstofflösungen dieser Öle mit hohem
i'ioleKulargewicht (,zum üeispiel i? bis 10 Gew.,o des uls hohen
r.oleiculargewichtc in einem Leicntmineralöl mit einer Viskosität
von 4-0 oUo bei 2100F (99°O)) ergaben zufriedenstellende
i->cuiäierunb, waren aber ÜDei^mäüig rauchüildend. Diese
letztere ^igexibcriaft ibt von {^röliter Bedeutung. Uieser
Kauen, der ebenso durch alle anderen Dekannten bchmiermittel auf Olbasis cebildet wird, war ausreichend, Beschwerden bei
anderen Angestellten zu verursachen, die in dem gleichen

gut gelüfteten Laboratorium während der i'estversuche arbeiteten,
wobei 5 bis 10 g ül verbraucht wurden und weniger
als die Hälfte dieser Menge verdampft wurde.
Die Ausschaltung von Hauch macht das .Ersetzen eines großen
Teils des üls mit hohem Molekulargewicht entweder durcri
ein fluchtiges Lösungsmittel oder durcn V/asser notwendig. Leichtes Naphtha und so weiter konnte v/egen der Feuergefahr
und chlorierte Lösungsmittel und so weiter konnten wegen der 'i'oxizität nicht toleriert werden. Die einzige
praktische Lösung bestand daner darin, das ul hohen holekulargewichts
in wasser zu emulgieren„ wiederholte Versuche
herkömmliche itfnulgiermittel in einer herkömmlichen
Weise zu verwenden blieben jedoch ohne Erfolg« Wan fand keine die ausreichend mit dem Ul hohen holekulargewicnts
zur Herstellung eines kommerziell annenmbaren ir'roduKts verträglich sind.
Es wurde nunmehr gefunden, daß eine stabile ül-in-Nasseremulsion von Petroleumölen hohen Molekulargewichts hergestellt werden kann. Das zur Bildung dieser stabilen 01-in-Wasseremulsion verwendete ö !konzentrat kann durch ein
faches Verstärken des hoch molekularen öls mit einer neu
gefundenen Kombination von oberflächenaktiven hitteln her
gestellt werden. Das Wasser-emulgierbare ülkonzentrat Jtaim

von 5 bis 13:1 ergeben.
Die zur Verwendung nach der vorliegenden Erfindung geeignetsten Petrolöle hohen Molekulargewichts sind solche Öle
mit einem Durchschnittsmolekulargewicht von ungefähr 550 bis 900, üblicherweise von 575 bis ÖOÜ und bevorzugt von
βρο bis 700. Ln dieser Hinsicht sind bright stocks besonders
wünschenswert und haben hervorragende Eigenschaften.
Diese bevorzugten Petroleumöle stammen von den entwachsten und entasphaltierten Rückständen von irgendeinem Rohöl.
Diese bright stocks können gewöhnlich eine Viskosität bei 2100I'1 (yy°ö) von ungefähr 120 bis 300 SUS haben. Ein typischer,
bevorzugter bright stock kann einen Siedepunkt über der Verformungstemperatur, zum Beispiel einen,Siedebereich
bei atmosphärischem Druck von ungefähr 90O0F (4820O)
(bei 5 Vol.^ Abdestillation) bis 1100°F (593°ö) bei 50 bis
75 Vol.'/i Abdestillation haben. Diese repräsentativen Siedepunkte
werden nach dem ASTi-J-Yerfahren D-1160 bei einem Torr
gemessen und dann auf Siedepunkte bei atmosphärischem Druck umgewandelte Es wurde gefunden, daß die beiden bevorzugten
bright stocks die nachfolgenden Eigenschaften haben:

Molekulargewichts, die vorzugsweise neutralisiert ist. ■ bolche Materialien, wie sie hier vorgesehen sind, gehören
dem liyp an, wie sie als Detergentien bei Motorölen verwendet werden, bie beruhen auf Polymerisaten von C2-C,--Olefinen,
worin das Polymerisat ein Molekulargewicht (ütaudinger)
von 400 bis 5000, geeigneter von 700 bis 140U, hat. Me
oäureforrnen dieser Polymerisate werden durch Keaktion der
Polymerisate mit PqSc oder mit i-±aleinsaureanhydrid erhalten,
wie dies in der schmiertechnik üekannt ist. P^b c-Dehandelte.;
Polybuten- und i-oiybutenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid odei -odure
v/erden bevorzugt. Ein geeignetes ke"aerial ist Polyisobutenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid
oder die entsprechende b'äure, die als solche oder umgesetzt mit einem Arnin oder Alkohol verwendet
werden können; die IsoDutenylgruppe hat.vorzugsweise

säurederivate kann mit herkömiblicrien .Basen (zum Beispiel

mit Aminen (zum Beispiel i'riäthanolamin) bewirkt v/erden
und die iieutralisierung kann vor der Zugabe der bäurederivate
zu dein ul mit hohem Molekulargewicht bewirkt werden
oder sie kann in situ in dem 01 vorgenommen werden. Viele Aminderivate des Monoalkenylbernsteinsäureänhydrids sind
kommerziell verfügbar und sind zur erfindungsgeinäisen Verwendung

Die Athylendiamine mit 1 bis 5 Ätnylenrücicständen
werden besonders bevorzugt. Gemische von Amin'en können
verwendet werden. Ammoniak kann ebenso verwendet .werden.
Andere neutralisierende Mittel für fernsteinsäurederivate
umfassen Alkohole, vorzugsweise iithylendiamintetraäthanol,
das Ester bilden kann»
Der dritte wesentliche Bestandteil bei der Kombination
oberflächenaktiver Mittel ist ein Kupplungsmittel. Kupplungsmittel dienen dazu, in der oberflächenaktiven Monoschicht
Unordnung zu schaffen, wodurch sie dafür sorgen, daß die oberflächenaktiven Mittel wirksamer werden. &s
scheint, daß ein Kupplungsmittel Spalten in der Monoschicht des oberflächenaktiven Mittels schafft, wobei diese bpal-.
ten beziehungsweise Zwischenräume dann mit wasser und/oder Öl gefüllt werden. Cyclohexanol ist als Kupplungsmittel
extrem wirksam, während Isopropanol, Mono-, Di- und 'i'riäthylenglycol,
Glyzerin und Butan-1,3-^dioi, wenn sie allein
verwendet werden, nicht zufriedenstellend sind» Cyclohexanol,
kann ersetzt werden durch G/i-Oo tertiäre Alkohole
(zum Beispiel t-Butanolrund t-Arnylalkohol) und C^-C^-Alkylcyclohexanole.
Gemische dieser Kupplungsmittel können ebenso verwendet werden.
Es isfc wünschenswert aber nicht erforderlich, die drei

wesentlichen oberflächenaktiven Mittel mit bestimmten zusätzlichen
oberflächenaktiven Mitteln zu ergänzen, um-das hydrophile/lipophile Gleichgewicht (HLB) zu verbessern oder
zu stabilisieren. Das optimale HLB ist ungefähr 6 bis 14, zum Beispiel ungefähr 10 bis 12. Der HLB-viert wird vom Fachmann
als das Zwanzigfache des Verhältnisses des Waaserbenetzten
(hydrophilen) Gewichts in dem Oberflächenaktiven Molekül zu dem Gesamtmolekulargewicht erläutertο diehe

311 (1949). Es hat daher ein oberflächenaktives Mittel, das 30^o hydrophile Gruppen enthält (zum Beispiel Polyoxyäthylen)

Die Klassen zusätzlicher oberflächenaktiver Mittel, die
verwendet werden können, sind;
Klasse 1
Diese Klasse umfaßt die hohen HLB-Materialien, wie Triäthanolamin
(das im wesentlichen 20 uLB hat). Hohe HLB-iunine,
zum Beispiel iriäthanolamin, können sowohl zur iieutralisierung
der Säurederivate der Olefinpolymerisate dienen, als auch als zusätzliche oberflächenaktive Mittel wirken. ;,\fie
vorausgehend angegeben, kann die iieutraÜ3ierung der Säurepolymerisate
mit herkömmlichen Basen, zum Beispiel Natriumöder Kaiiumhydroxid, bewirkt werden, aber die Ergebnisse
sind weniger zufriedenstellend, weil siehe Basen gewöhnlich
in der Form ihrer Wasserlösungen gebildet werden und ebenso

von oberfläcnenaktiven hitteln dieser Klasse ist
nicht kritiscn, aüer ihre Verwendung wird zur stabilisierung
des HLB-KUSgIeichs bevorzugt. Geeignete mittlere IiLn-
und mittlere i-iolekulargewicnt-üulfonate umfassen die iJetroleumsulfonate
mit einem Durchschnittsmolekulargewicht von Deispielfaweise 4uu bis 11Uu. Diese sulfonate werden in

Beispiel 1 · .
ErfindungsgemäJie Zubereitungen una Vergleichszubereitungen
vmrden durch einfaches hisehen des Basisöls mit der iiombination
oberflächenaktiver Iiittel hergestellt; die hengen
der bestandteile werden in'Gewichtsteilen angegeben. Bei
dem Stabilitätstest wird ein Volumen Ülkonzentrat mit 10
Volumen entweder destilliertem oder hartem Wasser verdünnt und zur Bildung einer stabilen öl- in-Wasseremulsion gerührt.
Die Zubereitungen A üis G und G bis W werden nach der Erfindung hergestellt, während Zubereitungen D bis J1
Vergleichszubereitungen sind, die nicht den Erfordernissen
der Erfindung entsprechen. JÜie Bezeichnung "Creme" oder
"leichte Creme" ist der letzte, nicht einwandfreie Abtrennungstyp;
"schwere Creme" und "ölige Creme" gibt Zwischen— typen der Abtrennung an, während die Bezeichnung "freies ül"
den härtesten Abtrennungstyp darstellt. Die für jede Zubereitung aufgezeigten Zahlen geben die Ergebnisse, die durch
ein minutenlanges schütteln, einer wäßrigen .amulsion des
i.onzentrats und dann durch Absitzenlassen während der angegebenen
Zeitdauer erhalten vmrden. Die Art und Menge der Abtrennung in Kubikzentimeter in verschiedenen Zeitintervallen
wird in den nachfolgenden Tabellen II, III und IV
aufgezeigt:

Ein Gemisoh aus 50 Teilen bright, stock mit einem Molekulargewicht
von 600 bis 700, 6 Teilen PIBSA/TEBA, 6,5 Teilen
äthöxylierter Oleinsäure, 3,5 Teilen äthoxyliertem Octylphenol,
3,0 Teilen äthoxyliertem Oleylamin, 4,0 Teilen Hatriumaulfonat
und 2,0 Teilen Cyclohexanol wurde hergestellt.
Dabei hatten diese Materialien die gleiohe chemische Zusammensetzung
wie die Materialien, die zur Herstellung der Zubereitung A in Tabelle II verwendet wurden. Das vorliegende
Öemisoh enthielt jedooh kein Lösungsmittel, Bei der Herstellung
der Emulsion wurden 7,5 ocm dieses Konzentrats durch

heftiges, mechanisches Huhren mit 92,5 com hartem Wasser
(300 ppm GaCIp) emulgiert und die Abtrennungen in ecm nach
den folgenden Zeitabläufen bestimmt;

P Aus den Ergebnissen der Beispiele 1 und 2 ist zu ersehen, daß
zufriedenstellende Emulsionen von bright stock hergestellt werden können, wenn man die angegebene Kombination von oberflächenaktivem
Mittel verwendet und daß die sich ergebenden Emulsionen ausreichende Stabilität, sowohl in destilliertem
als auch in hartem Wasser aufweisen.
Obgleich die vorliegende Erfindung in erster linie auf Schmier·
mittel, die bei Glasgießverfahren brauchbar sind, gerichtet
ist, können die erfindungsgemäßen Zubereitungen auoh für andere Zwecke verwendet werden. Beispielsweise können diese
Schmiermittel ebenso bei verschiedenen Spritzguß-Arbeitsverfahren verwendet v/erden, um Metallformen zu schmieren, die
beim Gießen von Aluminium, Zink, usw. verwendet werden, wo sie als !Formtrennmittel zum Vermeiden von Ankleben arbeiten.
Diese Schmiermittel können ebenso für verschiedene andere Zwecke, besonders bei splchen, die Hochtemperaturarbeitsverfahren
beinhalten, verwendet werden.

Claims (6)
1O tfaBseremulgierbares, flüssiges ülkonzentrat dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daii es umfaßt:
(a) 40 Ms 94 G-ewo^ eines Petroleumbasismaterials aus einem
Petroleuia-bright stock mit einem Durchs ohnittsmolekularge-wicht
von ungefähr 550 bis 900 und einem Kohlenwasserstofflösungsiiiitteli
wodurch das Lb'aungsmittel von 0 bis 40 S-evrö$
des Basismaterials betragt,
(O) den Ausgleich des Ölkonzentrats als eine Kombination
von oberflächenaktiven Mitteln in einer Gesamtmenge von
wenigstens 6 GtewO^, wobei die Kombination der oberflächenaktiven Mittel wenigstens jeweils Oj,5 Gewe$ umfaßt von (1)
einem alkoxylierten Material, das selbst das EeaktionsprodtJkt
von 2 bis 20 Hol eines uo-Ö™=Olefin02Ciäs mit or ο Hol

daß das Lösungsmittel 5 bis 40 G-eWo^ des Petroleumbasismaterials beträgt, wobei dieses Basismaterial eine Viskosität
von weniger als 400 SUS bei. 100°il (3B0C) hat, das
alkoxylierte Material (T) das Reaktionsprodukt des Olefinox'ids
mit einem C1-. bis Cp0 Fettalkohol, einer C10 bis
C?u Fettsäure, einem C10 bis Cp0 aliphatischen Amin oder
einem Co bis C1 ρ Alkylphenol oder Gemisohe derselben ist,
der Bestandteil (2) der Kombination der oberflächenaktiven Mittel ein neutralisiertes, phosphorsulfuriertes Polyolefin
oder eine neutralisierte Alkenylbernsteinsäure oder -anhydrid
ist und der Bestandteil (3) ein C, bis C„ t-Alkohol,
Cyclohexanol oder niederer Alkylcyclohexanol ist»

daß die Kombination der oberflächenaktiven Mittel ein mit einem Amin neutralisiertes Alkenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid.,
ein Polyoxyäthylendioleat als alkoxylierte Fettsäure, ein äthoxyliertes G0-C12 Alkylphenol, ein. äthoxyliertes
G-jg-ö-jg aliphatisches Amin und Cyclohexanol umfaßt.

4. Gelkonzentrat gemäß einem der Ansprüche i bis 3 -dadujceo.

in einer I-ienge von wenigstens 2,0 (lew.5» bezogen auf das
Gesamtgewicht des ölkonzentrats vorhanden ist.
5. Ölkonzentrat gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4- dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß die Oberflächenkombination 2 bis 10
Gew.% eines Natrium- oder Calciumsalzes einer Petrolsulfon- (|
säure mit einem Molekulargewicht von 400 bis 520 umfaßt,
6. !Flüssiges Ülkonzentrat gemäß einem der Ansprüche 1 bis
5 dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Rest des Öliconzentrats
wenigstens 1 Gew.^? Cyclohexanol und 2 bis 10 Gevi.:ß iron
jedem der nachfolgenden Bestandteile umfaßt: Polyoxyätlijlendioleat,
athoxyliertes Nonylphenyol, äthoxyliertes Olejlamin,
neutralisiertes Alkenylbernsteinsäureanhydrid hergestellt
von einem C^-Ct Olefin, das zu einem Molekularge- g
wicht von 400 bis 3000 polymerisiert und mit Polyamin neutralisiert
ist, und ein rTatriumpetroleumsulfonat mit einem
Molekulargewicht von 400 bis 520.
7« üchmierJliittel geeignet zur Verwendung in Glasformungsarbeitsverfahren
dadurca gekenpzeichnet, daß es umfaßt eine
Ol-in-Wasser^iöulsion, die im wesentlichen aus dem ülkonzentrat
der Ansprüche 1 bis ^ und Vv'asser in einem Volumvertiärtnis
von 1:20 Teilen Wasser pro !'eil Konzentrat besteht.
