Metallsalze von Phosphorsäuren, wie Thiophosphorsäuren, Phosphin- und Phosphonsäuren, werden z. B.
als Zusatzstoffe für Kohlenwasserstoffgemische, Kunststoffe, Anstrichmittel, Schmiermittel, Treibstoffe und
Fette verwendet. Bei den meisten Anwendungsgebieten ist das wichtigste Kriterium hinsichtlich der Brauchbarkeit
derartiger Metallsalze ihre Hitze- und Oxydationsstabilität.
Die Metallsalze der Dialkyldithiophosphorsäuren
werden durch Neutralisation der freien Säuren mit Metalloxyden, -carbonaten oder -hydroxyden erhalten
(vgl. britische Patentschrift 968 801). Diese Verbindungen haben jedoch den Nachteil, daß sie als Zusätze
in Schmierölen für Dieselmotoren, deren Kolbenringe aus Silber bestehen, wegen ihrer korrodierenden
Eigenschaften ungeeignet sind.
Aus der USA.-Patentschrift 3102096 ist es bekannt,
Zinkdiaryl oder bestimmte Zinkdialkyldithiophosphate mit Zinksalzen von Carbonsäuren in
Gegenwart von Wasser und einem Kohlenwasserstofflösungsmittel zu Produkten umzusetzen, die als
»Wasser-Komplexe« bezeichnet werden. Diese Verbindungen sind in Schmierölen nicht korrosiv gegenüber
Silber.
Die bisher bekannten Metallsalze der Dialkyldithiophosphorsäuren erfüllten noch nicht befriedigend die
an sie gestellten Anforderungen, insbesondere gegenüber hohen Temperaturen und Sauerstoff. Schon nach
kurzzeitigem Erhitzen auf höhere Temperaturen von z. B. 1200C erfolgt durch Abbau Schwefelwasserstoffentwicklung. Hier setzt die Erfindung ein.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von hitze- und oxydationsbeständigen
Metallsalzen von Phosphorsäureverbindungen der allgemeinen Formel

in der R Kohlenwasserstoff- oder Kohlenwasserstoffoxyreste, die gegebenenfalls durch polare Gruppen
substituiert sind, und X ein Sauerstoff- oder Schwefelatom bedeutet, durch Umsetzung der entsprechenden
Phosphorsäuren mit basischen Metallverbindungen, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man die Umsetzung
in Gegenwart einer Mono-, Di- oder Tricarbonsäure mit bis zu etwa 10 aliphatischen Kohlenstoffatomen
im Molekül oder deren Salz mit einem Alkali- oder Erdalkalimetall, Aluminium, Zink, Cadmium,
Eisen, Kobalt, Nickel oder Kupfer als Kataly-Verfahren

Nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren lassen sich innerhalb verhältnismäßig kurzer Reaktionszeiten
Metallsalze von Phosphorsäuren mit erhöhter Beständigkeit gegenüber Hitze und Oxydation und gegebenenfalls
mit erhöhter Basizität auf einfache Weise herstellen, die sich vorzuglich als Zusätze in Kohlenwasserstoffen
sowie Kraftstoffen und Schmierölen eignen.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren ist besonders wertvoll zur Herstellung von Metallsalzen von Thiophosphorsäuren,
Thiophosphinsäuren oder Thiophosphonsäuren. Diese Säuren entsprechen, wie vorstehend
schon erwähnt, der vorstehenden allgemeinen Formel. Die Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen können jeweils bis zu
Kohlenwasserstoffatome enthalten und Alkyl-, Aryl-, Aralkyl-, Alkenyl- oder Cycloalkylgruppen sein,
die gegebenenfalls einen oder mehrere polare Substituenten, wie eine Äther-, Halogen- oder Nitrogruppe,

Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren kann mit Ausnahme der Verwendung des Katalysators und der
substituierten Bernsteinsäure unter bekannten, für die Umsetzung einer Phosphorsäure mit einer basischen
Metallverbindung geeigneten Bedingungen erfolgen. Die Reaktionstemperatur liegt im allgemeinen im
Bereich von etwa 250C bis zum Zersetzungspunkt des
Reaktionsgemischs. Im allgemeinen liegt die Umsetzungstemperatur in einem Bereich von etwa 50 bis
etwa 2000C. Die Umsetzung kann durch einfaches
Mischen der Phosphorsäureverbindung mit der basischen Metallverbindung und gegebenenfalls in Gegenwart
eines Verdünnungs- oder Lösungsmittels erfolgen, das die Kontrolle der Umsetzungstemperatur und das
Mischen der Reaktionsteilnehmer erleichtert. Beispiele für geeignete Lösungsmittel sind Benzol, Toluol, Xylol,
Naphtha, Chlorbenzol, Dioxan, Nitrobenzol, Hexan und Mineralöl.
Eine zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens besonders geeignete Methode besteht darin,
die basische Metallverbindung in kleinen Mengen in ein Gemisch aus der Phosphorsäureverbindung und
dem Katalysator in ein Lösungsmittel einzutragen. Bei einer anderen Methode wird die Phosphorsäureverbindung
zu einem Gemisch aus der basischen Metallverbindung und dem Katalysator zugegeben.
Weiterhin kann eine Aufschlämmung der basischen Metallverbindung in einem Verdünnungsmittel hergestellt
werden, die dann mit der Phosphorsäureverbindung und dem Katalysator vermischt wird. Besteht
der Katalysator aus einem Carboiisäuremetallsalz, so
kann dieser in situ im Reaktionsgemisch aus der entsprechenden Carbonsäure und der im Reaktionsgeraisch
anwesenden basischen Metallverbindung hergestellt werden.
Bei der Herstellung der Metallsalze nach dem erfindungsgemäßen
Verfahren entstehen im allgemeinen auch Nebenprodukte, wie Wasser. In den meisten
Fällen werden die Nebenprodukte von dem Metallsalz durch Destillation, Filtration, Verdampfung oder Ausfällung
oder nach anderen bekannten Verfahren abgetrennt.
Die Herstellung von Metallsalzen von Phosphorsäureverbindungen kann erfindungsgemäß auch in
Gegenwart von bis zu etwa 2 Äquivalenten je Äquivalent der Phosphorsäureverbindung einer kohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten
Bernsteinsäure oder deren Anhydrid erfolgen, die mindestens etwa 50 aliphatische
Kohlenstoffatome im Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituenten enthält. In vielen Fällen beträgt das Äquivalentverhältnis
der beiden Säuren in dem Gemisch etwa 0,1:1 bis etwa 2:1. Der Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituent
in der Bernsteinsäure stammt im allgemeinen von hochmolekularen, im wesentlichen gesättigten
Erdölfraktionen und im wesentlichen gesättigten Polyolefinen, insbesondere von Polymeren
von «-Olefinen, wie Äthylen, Propylen, 1-Buten, Isobuten,
1-Hexen, 1-Octen, 2-MethyM-bepten, 3-Cyclohexyl-1-buten
und 2-Methyl-5-propyl-l-hexen. Polymere von mittelständig ungesättigten Olefinen sind
ebenfalls wertvoll. Beispiele für solche Olefine sind Buten-2, Penten-3 und Octen-4.
Außerdem können Mischpolymerisate aus den votstehend
genannten Olefinen und anderen copolymerisierbaren, olefinisch ungesättigten Verbindungen,
wie aromatischen oder cyclischen Olefinen oder PoIy-5
olefinen, verwendet werden. Beispiele für derartige Mischpolymerisate sind Mischpolymerisate aus Isobuten
und Styrol, Isobuten und Butadien, Propylen und Isopren, Äthylen und Piperylen, Isobuten und
Chlorbutadien, Isobuten und a-Methylstyrol, 1-Hexen
ίο und 1,3-Hexadien, 1-Octen und 1-Hexen, 1-Hepten
und 1-Penten, 3-Methyl-l-buten und 1-Octen, 3,3-Dimethyl-1-penten
und 1-Hexen, Isobuten, Styrol und Piperylen.
Das Mengenverhältnis der Monoolefine zu den anderen Monomeren in den Mischpolymerisaten bestimmt
die Stabilität und die Öllöslichkeit der von solchen Mischpolymerisaten abgeleiteten Endprodukte.
Im Hinblick avif die Öllöslichkeit und die Stabilität sollen die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten
Mischpolymerisate im wesentlichen aliphatisch und gesättigt sein, d. h., sie sollen mindestens 80 Gewichtsprozent,
vorzugsweise mindestens 95 Gewichtsprozent, von den aliphatischen Monoolefinen abgeleitete Einheiten
und nicht mehr als etwa 5% olefinische Bindüngen, bezogen auf die Summe der Kohlenstoff-Kohlenstoff-Bindungen,
enthalten. In den meisten Fällen sollen die olefinischen Bindungen weniger als 2°/0, bezogen auf die Summe der Kohlenstoff-Kohlenstoff-Bindungen,
betragen.
Weiterhin können die Kohlenwasserstoffreste von gesättigten aliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen stammen,
wie hochraffinierten hochmolekularen Weißölen (Paraffinöle) oder synthetischen Alkanen, die durch
Hydrierung hochmolekularer olefinischer Polyraerer der vorstehend genannten Art oder hochmolekularer
olefinischer Verbindungen erhalten werden.
Vorzugsweise werden Polyolefine mit einem Molekulargewicht von etwa 750 bis 5000 als Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituenten
verwendet. Es wurde festgestellt, daß hochmolekulare Polyolefine mit einem Molekulargewicht
zwischen etwa 10 000 und etwa 100 000 oder darüber bei den erfindungsgemäß herstellbaren Endprodukten
als Viskositätsindexverbesserer wirken. Daher ist die Verwendung derartiger höhermolekularer
Polyolefine oft erwünscht. Der Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituent in der Bernsteinsäure kann auch inerte
polare Gruppen enthalten. Beispiele für derartige inerte polare Gruppen sind: Chlor- oder Bromatome,
Keto-, Äther-, Aldehyd- oder Nitrogruppen. Der Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituent soll gewöhnlich höchstens
etwa 10 Gewichtsprozent derartige polare Gruppen, bezogen auf das Gewicht des Kohlenwasserstoffteils
des Substituenten, enthalten.
Die erfindungsgemäß eingesetzten substituierten Bernsteinsäuren können durch Umsetzung von Maleinsäureanhydrid mit einem hochmolekularen Olefin oder einem chlorierten Kohlenwasserstoff, wie dem vorstehend beschriebenen Polyolefin, leicht hergestellt werden. Bei der Umsetzung werden die beiden Reaktionsteilnehmer auf eine Temperatur von etwa 100 bis 2000C erhitzt. Das Produkt einer derartigen Umsetzung ist ein Bernsteinsäureanhydrid mit einem hochmolekularen Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituenten. Der Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituent kann olefinische Bindüngen enthalten, die gewünschtenfalls durch Hydrierung in gesättigte paraffinische Bindungen umgewandelt werden können. Das Säureanhydrid kann durch Behandlung mit Wasser oder mit Wasserdampf
Die erfindungsgemäß eingesetzten substituierten Bernsteinsäuren können durch Umsetzung von Maleinsäureanhydrid mit einem hochmolekularen Olefin oder einem chlorierten Kohlenwasserstoff, wie dem vorstehend beschriebenen Polyolefin, leicht hergestellt werden. Bei der Umsetzung werden die beiden Reaktionsteilnehmer auf eine Temperatur von etwa 100 bis 2000C erhitzt. Das Produkt einer derartigen Umsetzung ist ein Bernsteinsäureanhydrid mit einem hochmolekularen Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituenten. Der Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituent kann olefinische Bindüngen enthalten, die gewünschtenfalls durch Hydrierung in gesättigte paraffinische Bindungen umgewandelt werden können. Das Säureanhydrid kann durch Behandlung mit Wasser oder mit Wasserdampf
zur entsprechenden Säure hydrolysiert werden. In diesem Zusammenhang ist darauf hinzuweisen, daß
das Säureanhydrid der Säure hinsichtlich seiner Brauchbarkeit bei der Herstellung des Endprodukts
gleichkommt. Tatsächlich ist das Säureanhydrid oft reaktionsfähiger als die Säure und wird deshalb oft
bevorzugt verwendet.
An Stelle der Olefine oder chlorierten Kohlenwasserstoffe können bei der vorstehend beschriebenen Umsetzung
zur Herstellung der substituierten Bernsteinsäure auch andere Kohlenwasserstoffe verwendet
werden, die einen aktivierenden polaren Substituenten enthalten, d. h. einen Substituenten, der das Kohlenwasserstoffmolekül
hinsichtlich der Umsetzung mit Maleinsäure oder Maleinsäureanhydrid aktivieren kann. Beispiele für derartige polare Substituenten sind
Sulfid-, Disulfid-, Nitro-, Mercaptan-, Brom-, Ketön- oder Aldehydgruppen. Beispiele für polar substituierte
Kohlenwasserstoffe sind Polypropylensulfid, Dipolyisobutendisulfid, nitriertes Mineralöl, Dipolyäthylensulfid
und bromiertes Polyäthylen. Die substituierten Bernsteinsäuren und Bernsteinsäureanhydride können
weiterhin durch Umsetzung von Itaconsäure mit einem hochmolekularen Olefin oder einem polar substituierten
Kohlenwasserstoff bei einer Temperatur, die im allgemeinen in einem Bereich von etwa 100 bis etwa
2000C liegt, hergestellt werden.
Wenn das Mengenverhältnis der Reaktionsteilnehmer im erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren in chemischen
Äquivalenten angegeben wird, beruht das Äquivalentgewicht eines Reaktionsteilnehmers auf der
Zahl der funktionellen Gruppen im Molekül. Demnach beruht das Äquivalentgewicht der Phosphorsäureverbindung
auf der Zahl der Phosphorsäurereste im Molekül. Beispielsweise hat eine Dithiodialkylphosphorsäure
1 Äquivalent pro Mol, ebenso eine Monothiooder Dithiodialkylphosphinsäure. Eine substituierte
Bernsteinsäure mit einer Bernsteinsäuregruppe im Molekül hat 2 Äquivalente pro Mol. Das
Äquivalentgewicht einer basischen Verbindung eines Metalls der II. Gruppe des Periodensystems entspricht
der Hälfte ihres Molekulargewichtes, und das Äquivalentgewicht eines Carbonsäuresalzes mit einem
Metall der II. Gruppe des Periodensystems entspricht ebenfalls der Hälfte seines Molekulargewichtes. Das
Äquivalentgewicht der erfindungsgemäß als Katalysator verwendeten Carbonsäure hängt von der Zahl
der im Molekül enthaltenen Carboxylgruppen ab. Beispielsweise hat Phthalsäure oder Phthalsäureanhydrid
2 Äquivalente pro Molekül, Maleinsäure oder Maleinsäureanhydrid ebenfalls, 1,2,4-Benzoltricarbonsäure
hat 3 Äquivalente pro Molekül und Essigsäure 1 Äquivalent pro Molekül.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren ist nachstehend an Hand der Beispiele näher erläutert.
1113 g (3 Äquivalente) Ο,Ο'-Di-isooctyldithiophosphorsäure
werden zu einem Gemisch aus 1000 g Benzol, 183 g (4,5 Äquivalente) Zinkoxyd und 13 g
(0,12 Äquivalente) Zinkacetat - dihydrat innerhalb 75 Minuten bei einer Temperatur von 21 bis 49 0C
zugegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird 1 Stunde auf 68 bis 85°C erhitzt, wobei 32 ml Wasser abdestilliert
werden. Der Rückstand wird filtriert. Das Filtrat wird
auf 8ODC/8O Torr erhitzt und wiederum filtriert.
Das zweite Filtrat ist eine Öllösung eines basischen
Zinksalzes mit einem Zinkgehalt von 10,1 °/0, einem
Phosphorgehalt von 7,31 0I0, einem Schwefelgehalt von
15,61 °/o und einem Gewichtsverhältnis von Zn:P von
1,38:1. Zu Vergleichszwecken wird das vorstehende Verfahren jedoch ohne Verwendung von Zink-dihydrat
im Reaktionsgemisch wiederholt. Das Verfahrensprodukt (944 g) hat einen Zinkgehalt von
9,71%, einen Phosphorgehalt von 7,62 %, einen Schwefelgehalt von 15,64% und weist ein Gewichtsverhältnis von Zn:P von 1,27:1 auf (Bromphenolblau-Indikator).
60 g (1,5 Äquivalente) Zinkoxyd werden zu 1484 g (4 Äquivalente) eines Gemisches aus O,O'-Di-isooctyldithiophosphorsäure
und 17 g (0,16 Äquivalente) Zinkacetat-dihydrat bei einer Temperatur von 23 bis 270C gegeben. Hierauf wird Zinkoxyd in drei Portionen
von jeweils 60 g zugegeben, wobei die Temperatur auf 72 0C ansteigt. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wird 2 Stunden mit Stickstoff bei 70 bis 8O0C geblasen
und anschließend 1 Stunde auf 75°C/20Torr erhitzt. Der Rückstand wird filtriert. Das Filtrat (1487 g) hat
einen Zinkgehalt von 10,3 %, einen Phosphorgehalt von 7,29 %. einen Schwefelgehalt von 15,89 % und
ein Gewichtsverhältnis von Zn:P von 1,42:1.
Ein nach dem gleichen Verfahren hergestelltes Produkt ohne Verwendung von Zinkacetat-dihydrat weist
einen Zinkgehalt von 9,92 °/o, einen Phosphorgehalt von 7,46 0I0, einen Schwefelgehalt von 16,4% und ein
Gewichtsverhältnis von Zn: P von 1,33:1 auf.
6100 g O,O' - Di - isooctyldithiophosphorsäure
(16 Äquivalente) werden zu einem Gemisch aus 3500 ml Benzol, 977 g (24 Äquivalente) Zinkoxyd und
33,8 g (0,34 Äquivalente) Zinkacetat-dihydrat innerhalb 27a Stunden bei 22 bis 57° C gegeben. Das
Reaktionsgemisch wird 3 Stunden auf 40 bis 500C und anschließend auf 910C erhitzt. Dabei werden
4Q 150 g Wasser abdestilliert. Der Rückstand wird filtriert, und das Filtrat wird auf 90°C/70Torr erhitzt,
um flüchtige Bestandteile abzudestillieren, und anschließend wiederum filtriert. Das Filtrat (5364 g)
hat einen Zinkgehalt von 9,93%, einen Phosphorus gehalt von 7,32%, einen Schwefelgehalt von 15,46%,
und das Gewicbtsverhältnis von Zn:P beträgt 1,35:1.
824 g (3 Äquivalente) einer Ο,Ο'-Dialkyldithiophosphorsäure,
die durch Umsetzung von 1 Mol P8S5 mit
4 Mol eines Gemisches aus 65 Molprozent Isobutanol und 35 Molprozent primärem Amylalkohol hergestellt
wurde, werden zu einem Gemisch aus 1300 g Benzol, 407 g Mineralöl, 159 g (3,9 Äquivalente) Zinkoxyd
und 14 g (0,13 Äquivalente) Zinkacetat-dihydrat bei einer Temperatur von 26 bis 510C gegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch
wird2V4 Stunden auf 65 bis 86°Cerhitzt, wobei 32 ml Wasser abdestilliert werden. Der Rückstand
wird filtriert. Das Filtrat wird auf 85°C/10 Torr erhitzt und wiederum filtriert. Das Filtrat (1150 g) hat
einen Zinkgehalt von 8,99%, einen Phosphorgehalt von 6,9 %, einen Schwefelgehalt von 14,86 % und weist
ein Gewichtsverhältnis von Zn:P von 1,29:1 auf. Es wird ein weiterer Versuch durchgeführt, der dem vorstehenden
gleicht, wobei jedoch kein Katalysator bei der Umsetzung verwendet wird. Bei diesem Versuch
sind insgesamt 4,5 Äquivalente Zinkoxyd (15 % mehr als bei dem vorstehenden Versuch) erforderlich, um

Ein weiterer Versuch, der dem vorstehend beschriebenen gleicht, wobei jedoch kein Zinkacetat
verwendet wird, ergibt ein Produkt mit einem Zinkgehalt von 3,16 οΙϋ, einem Phosphorgehalt von 3,74%
und einem Schwefelgehalt von 7,26 %, wobei das Gewichtsverhältnis von Zn:P 0,845:1 beträgt.
6,16 g 0,0'-Di-(tetrapropylen-subst.-phenyl)-dithiophosphorsäure
(1 Äquivalent) werden zu einem Gemisch aus 301 g Mineralöl, 96,3 g (1,5 Äquivalente) Cadmiumoxyd und 6,7 g (0,05 Äquivalente)
Cadmiumacetat-dihydrat bei 70° C zugegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird 2 Stunden bei 7O0C gehalten
und anschließend 30 Minuten auf 90°C/30Torr erhitzt und filtriert. Das Filtrat (795 g) enthält 6,76%
Cadmium, 3,08% Phosphor und 6,36% Schwefel, und das Gewichtsverhältnis von Cd:P beträgt 2,19:1.
Bei einem weiteren Versuch, der dem vorstehenden entspricht, wobei jedoch kein Cadmiumacetat verwendet
wird, erhält man ein Produkt mit einem Cadmiumgehalt
von 6,27% und einem Gewichtsverhältnis von Cd:P von 1,58:1.
615 g (1 Äquivalent) O,O'-Di-(tetrapropylen-subst.-phenyl)-dithiophosphorsäure
werden zu einem Gemisch aus 295 g Mineralöl, 199 g (1,5 Äquivalente) Strontiumhydroxyd-octahydrat und 5,4 g (0,5 Äquivalente)
Strontiumacetat - halbhydrat innerhalb 61Z2 Stunden bei 700C gegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird 1 Stunde bei 70° C gehalten, dann
30 Minuten auf 90°C/30 Torr erhitzt, mit einer Filterhilfe versetzt und filtriert. Das Filtrat (870 g) enthält
6,7% Strontium, 2,95% Phosphor und 3,04% Schwefel, und das Gewichtsverhältnis von Sr:P beträgt
2,27:1.
Ein weiterer Versuch, der dem vorstehenden entspricht, wobei jedoch kein Strontiumacetat als Katalysator
verwendet wird, ergibt ein Produkt mit einem Strontiumgehalt von 5,08%, einem Phosphorgehalt
von 2,75 7o> einem Schwefelgehalt von 4,84% und
einem Gewichtsverhältnis von Sr:P von 1,85:1.
939 g (1,13 Äquivalente) eines polyisobutensubstituierten Bernsteinsäureanhydrids mit der Säurezahl 100
(der Polyisobutenrest hat ein Molekulargewicht von 1000), das durch Chlorierung des Polyisobutene und
Umsetzung des chlorierten Polyisobuten mit einem 20%igen molaren Überschuß Maleinsäureanhydrid
hergestellt wurde, werden zu 310 g Mineralöl und 3,2 ml Essigsäure gegeben. Das Gemisch wird auf
88c C erhitzt und mit 119 g (2,93 Äquivalente) Zinkoxyd
versetzt. Das Gemisch wird 2 Stunden bei 88° C bis 1100C gehalten, und anschließend werden 820 g
(1,1 Äquivalente) Di-(chlorphenyl)-dithiophosphorsäure
bei derselben Temperatur zugegeben. Das erhaltene Gemisch wird hierauf auf 100 bis 1100C und
anschließend auf 150° C/20 Torr erhitzt. Der Rückstand wird filtriert. Das Filtrat wird in 94%iger Ausbeute
der Theorie erhalten und hat einen Phosphorgehalt von 1,97% und einen Zinkgehalt von 5,4%.
Ein weiterer Versuch, der dem vorstehenden entspricht, wobei jedoch keine Essigsäure verwendet
wird, ergibt ein Produkt in 95,9%iger Ausbeute der Theorie mit einem Phosphorgehalt von 1,57% und
einem Zinkgehalt von 4,74%·
Die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Metallsalze sind wertvoll als Zusatzstoffe für Schmieröle, Benzine und
Erdöltreib- und -brennstoffe. Sie sind außerdem wertvoll als Insecticide, Schädlingsbekämpfungsmittel,
Erzflotationsmittel oder Weichmacher. Bei derartigen Anwendungen können die erfmdungsgemäß hergestellten
Metallsalze den Gemischen, denen sie einverleibt sind, Oxydations- und Korrosionsbeständigkeit
verleihen. Besonders geeignet sind die Metallsalze als
ίο Hochdruckzusätze und Oxydationsinhibitoren in
Schmiermitteln.
Die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Metallsalze sind insofern außerordentlich wertvoll, da sie besonders
beständig gegenüber hohen Temperaturen und längerer Berührung mit Luft sind. Diese hervorragende
Stabilität der Metallsalze ist besonders im Hinblick auf ihre Brauchbarkeit als Zusatzstoffe für Schmiermittel,
Erdöltreib- und -brennstoffe und Benzine wichtig. Der Grund für diese Stabilität ist nicht be-
ao kannt, jedoch ist bekannt, daß diese in direktem Zusammenhang
steht mit der Gegenwart des Katalysators in dem Reaktionsgemisch, aus dem das Metallsalz
hergestellt wird. Die ungewöhnlich günstige Stabilität der erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Metallsalze
wird nachstehend an Hand eines Versuchs erläutert, wobei eine Probe eines Metallsalzes bei 1210C
gelagert und die Zeit gemessen wird, die zur Bildung von Schwefelwasserstoff aus der Probe erforderlich ist,
was auf den Abbau des Metallsalzes hinweist. Je langer dieser Zeitraum ist, desto stabiler ist das Metallsalz.
Die Ergebnisse sind in nachstehender Tabelle angegeben.

Claims (4)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung von hitze- und oxydationsbeständigen Metallsalzen von Phosphorsäureverbindungen
der allgemeinen Formel

in der R Kohlenwasserstoff- oder Kohlenwasserstoffoxyreste,
die gegebenenfalls durch polare Gruppen substituiert sind, und X ein Sauerstoffoder
Schwefelatom bedeutet, durch Umsetzung der entsprechenden Phosphorsäuren mit basischen
Metallverbindungen, dadurch gekenn-
zeichnet, daß man die Umsetzung in Gegenwart einer Mono-, Di-, oder Tricarbonsäure mit
bis zu etwa 10 aliphatischen Kohlenstoflfatoraen im Molekül oder deren Salz mit einem Alkali- oder
Erdalkalimetall, Zink, Cadmium, Aluminium, Eisen, Kobalt, Nickel oder Kupfer als Katalysator
bzw. gegebenenfalls mit bis zu etwa 2 Äquivalenten einer kohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Bernsteinsäure oder deren Anhydrid mit mindestens
etwa 50 aliphatischen Kohlenstoffatomen im Kohlenwasserstoffsubstituenten, der auch inerte
polare Gruppen enthalten kann, je Äquivalent der Phosphorsäureverbindung durchführt.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1. dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß eine Dithiophosphorsäure- oder eine
Dithiophospbinsäureverbindung verwendet wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als basische Metallverbindung
Zinkoxyd verwendet wird.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als Katalysator Essigsäure
verwendet wird.
