Description
- Verfahren zur Herstellung von acyloxymethylsubstituierten Siloxanen Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von acyloxymethylsubstituierten Siloxanen, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß man ein Siloxan der allgemeinen Formel RnSiO4-n, worin n eine Zahl größer als 1 und höchstens gleich 3 bedeutet und mindestens einer der Substituenten R ein Brommethylrest, jedes übrige R ein Alkyl- oder ein Arylrest, vorzugsweise Methyl oder Phenyl ist, in Gegenwart eines tertiären Amins mit einer aliphatischen, cycloaliphatischen oder aromatischen, ein oder mehrbasigen, gegebenenfalls indifferent substituierten Carbonsäure zur Reaktion bringt.
- Als Beispiele der verwendbaren Carbonsäuren seien genannt: Ameisensäure, Essigsäure, Chloressigsäure, Cyanessigsäure, Methoxyessigsäure, Propionsäure, Isobuttersäure, Acrylsäure, Methacrylsäure, Crotonsäure, Adipinsäure, Maleinsäure, Hexahydrobenzoesäure, Benzoesäure, Terephthalsäure.
- Die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Acyloxymethylsiloxane können als grenzflächenaktive Mittel, z. B.
- Emulgatoren, als Zusatzmittel zur Modifizierung der Eigenschaften von Kunststoffen und als Zwischenprodukte zur Herstellung anderer Siliciumverbindungen verwendet werden.
- Ein derartiger von siloxansubstituiertem Methanol ableitbarer Carbonsäureester wurde bislang beispielsweise dadurch hergestellt, daß man Di- (chlormethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan und Natriumacetat 24 Stunden lang in Eisessig oder dieses Disiloxan und ein Alkalisalz einer anderen Carbonsäure in trockenem Dirnethylformamid erhitzte. Eine solche Reaktion setzt die Verwendung wasserfreier Salze voraus, da andernfalls durch Hydrolyse entstehendes Alkali zur Spaltung der Si-C-Bindung an der Halogenmethylgruppe führt. Da die Herstellung solch wasserfreier Salze oft schwierig ist, bedeutet es bereits einen Vorteil, statt dessen die freien Säuren verwenden zu können. Darüber hinaus erfordert das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren wesentlich kürzere Reaktionszeiten und geringeres Erhitzen. In vielen Fällen genügt zur praktisch vollständigen Umsetzung kurzzeitiges Erwärmen auf annähernd 100°C.
- Oftmals verläuft die Reaktion von einer bestimmten Temperatur ab exotherm selbsttätig weiter, so daß es bei empfindlichen Säuren notwendig sein kann, zu kühlen oder mit einem inerten Lösungsmittel, z. B.
- Toluol, zu verdünnen. In einigen Fällen beginnt die Reaktion schon durch die beim Zusammengeben der Komponenten frei werdende Neutralisationswärme.
- Beispiel 1 Zu 160 g (0,5 Mol) 1,3-Di-(brommethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan gibt man unter heftigem Rühren 66 g (1,1 Mol) Essigsäure und 111 g (1,1 Mol) Triäthylamin. Dabei erwärmt sich das Gemisch bis auf ungefähr 60"C. Man erhitzt anschließend die so erhaltene klare, später trübe werdende Lösung auf 90"C und unterbricht dann die Wärmezufuhr. Die Temperatur steigt danach selbsttätig und mit wachsender Geschwindigkeit bis auf ungefähr 130"C; währenddessen erstarrt das Reaktionsgemisch schließlich, eine halbe Stunde nach Reaktionsbeginn, völlig zu einem Kristallbrei. Man nimmt diesen nach dem Abkühlen in Wasser auf, trennt die sich abscheidende Ölschicht ab und äthert die wäßrige Schicht aus. Die vereinigten Öl- und Ätherphasen trocknet man mit wasserfreiem Natriumsulfat und fraktioniert sie dann über eine Kolonne; Man erhält 120 g reines 1,3-Di-(acetoxymethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan (86 0/o der theoretisch möglichen Menge), durch kernmagnetische Resonanz und ultrarotspektroskopisch identifiziert, mit Kp.0,6 790 C und n2D = = 1,4225.
- Beispiel 2 Mit 160 g (0,5 Mol) 1,3-Di-(brommethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, 94g (1,1 Mol) Cyanessigsäure und 122 g (1,2 Mol) Triäthylamin verfährt man, wie im Beispiel 1 beschrieben. Nach der fraktionierten Destillation erhält man 89 g spektroskopisch identifiziertes 1 ,3-Di-(cyanacetoxymethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, Kp.3 = 205"C und n2o0 = 1,4492.
- Beispiel 3 Mit 160 g (0,5 Mol) 1,3-Di-(brommethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, 103 g (1,2 Mol) Crotonsäure und 132 g (1,3 Mol) Triäthylamin verfährt man wie im Beispiel 1 beschrieben. Nach der fraktionierten Destillation erhält man 85 °/o der theoretisch möglichen Menge an spektroskopisch identifiziertem 1,3-Di-(crotonoxymethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, Kp.0,3 = 107"cm n2Do = 1,4540.
- Beispiel 4 Mit 160g (0,5 Mol) 1,3-Di-(brommethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, 140g (1,1 Mol) Hexahydrobenzoesäure und 122 g (1,2 Mol) Triäthylamin verfährt man wie im Beispiel 1 beschrieben. Nach der fraktionierten Destillation erhält man 155 g spektroskopisch identifiziertes 1 ,3-Di-(hexahydrobenzooxymethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, Kp.0,4 = 165"C; n200 = 1,4625.
- Beispiel 5 Mit 160g (0,5 Mol) 1,3-Di-(brommethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, 122 g (1 Mol) Benzoesäure und 102 g (1 Mol) Triäthylamin verfährt man wie im Beispiel 1 beschrieben. Nach der fraktionierten Destillation erhält man 820/o der theoretisch möglichen Menge an spektroskopisch identifiziertem 1,3-Di-(benzooxymethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, Kp.,,=188"C; n200 =1,5111.
- Beispiel 6 Ein Gemisch von 160 g (0,5 Mol) 1,3-Di-(brommethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, 79 g (1,1 Mol) Acrylsäure und 122 g (1,2 Mol) Triäthylamin erhitzt man 4 Stun- den auf ungefähr 100"C. Dann läßt man das Reaktionsgemisch erkalten, nimmt es in Wasser auf und verfährt des weiteren wie im Beispiel 1 beschrieben.
- Nach der fraktionierten Destillation erhält man 90 g spektroskopisch identifiziertes 1,3-Di-(acryloxymethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, Kp.0,6= 950C; n200 = 1,4442.
- Beispiel 7 160 g (0,5 Mol) 1,3-Di-(brommethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan mischt man mit 100 cm3 Toluol und 55 g (1,2 Mol) Ameisensäure. Dazu gibt man tropfenweise eine Lösung von 117 g (1,15 Mol) Triäthylamin in 100 cm3 Toluol, wobei die Temperatur auf 65"C steigt, und erhitzt dann das Gemisch 1 Stunde auf 100"C. Das dabei ausgefallene Salz trennt man durch Filtrieren ab; seine Bromidtitration ergibt 92 01o der theoretisch möglichen Menge.
- Aus dem Filtrat erhält man durch fraktionierte Destillation reines 1,3-Di-(formoxymethyl)-tetramethyldisiloxan, durch kernmagnetische Resonanz und ultrarotspektroskopisch identifiziert, Kr.12 = 115"C; n200 = 1,4281.
- Beispiel 8 391 g (0,5 Mol) eines linearen oc,w-Di-(brommethyl)-polydimethylsiloxans, das mit einem Bromgehalt von 20,5 Gewichtsprozent ungefähr der Formel BrCH2 - Si(CH3)2 -0 -[- Si(CH3)2 -0 H6 Si(CH3)2 - ClI2Br entspricht, mischt man mit 122 g (1 Mol) Benzoesäure und 112 g (1,1 Mol) Triäthylamin und erhitzt das Gemisch 2 Stunden auf ungefähr 120"C. Das dabei ausgefallene Salz trennt man durch Filtrieren ab; seine Bromidtitration ergibt 9301o der theoretisch möglichen Menge.
- Das Filtrat dampft man ein, schließlich bei 100"C und 1 Torr. Den Rückstand filtriert man erneut und erhält das Veresterungsprodukt im Filtrat als gold- gelbes Öl der Verseifungszahl 142. Bei 20"C beträgt seine Dichte 1,05 g/cm3, seine Viskosität 14cP und sein Brechungsindex n200 = 1,4521.
- Beispiel 9 1000 g eines verzweigten Polysiloxans, das mit einem Bromgehalt von 11,6 Gewichtsprozent ungefähr der Formel entspricht, mischt man mit 105 g (1,74 Mol) Essigsäure und 162 g (1,6 Mol) Triäthylamin und erhitzt das Gemisch 8 Stunden zum Sieden unter Rückfluß. Das dabei ausgefallene Salz trennt man durch Filtrieren ab und dampft das Filtrat ein, schließlich bei 100"C und 1 Torr. Den Rückstand filtriert man erneut und erhält das Veresterungsprodukt im Filtrat als gelbes Öl der Verseifungszahl 75 mit einem restlichen Bromgehalt von 1,4 Gewichtsprozent. Bei 200 C beträgt seine Dichte 1,015 g/cm3, seine Viskosität 27 cP und sein Brechungsindex n2D = 1,4120.
Claims (1)
- Patentanspruch: Verfahren zur Herstellung von acyloxymethylsubstituierten Siloxanen, d a d u r c h g e k e n nz e i c h n e t, daß man ein Siloxan der allgemeinen Formel RnSiO4-n, worin n eine Zahl größer als 1 und höchstens gleich 3 bedeutet und mindestens einer der Substituenten R ein Brommethylrest, jedes übrige R ein Alkyl- oder Arylrest ist, in Gegenwart eines tertiären Amins mit einer aliphatischen, cycloaliphatischen oder aromatischen, ein-oder mehrbasigen, gegebenenfalls indifferent substituierten Carbonsäure zur Reaktion bringt.
