防火热塑性树脂组合物
技术领域
本发明涉及阻燃热塑性树脂组合物,更具体地说,通过将环形烷基磷酸化合物用于橡胶改性苯乙烯树脂和聚苯醚树脂的混合物,本发明涉及的热塑性树脂组合物具有好的阻燃性和耐热性。
背景技术
聚苯醚树脂具有好的耐热性、高冲击强度和好的尺寸稳定性。因此该树脂广泛地用于各种通用用途。然而,由于其过高的耐热性,可以发现聚苯醚树脂具有较差的可加工性的缺陷。因此,聚苯醚树脂与橡胶改性苯乙烯树脂或苯乙烯树脂混合,以提高可加工性,以便用于电子产品如个人电脑、传真等等。此外,当聚苯醚树脂和含橡胶改性苯乙烯树脂的混合物用于电气或电子产品时,树脂应具有阻燃性能。
一种广为人知的赋予阻燃性能的方法是将含卤素化合物或含锑化合物加到含橡胶改性的苯乙烯树脂中。但是仍能发现不足,即,含卤素化合物会导致模具本身被在模制工艺(molding process)过程中释放出的卤化氢气体,腐蚀,并且由于一旦着火会释放毒性气体,它能造成致命伤害。特别地,主要用于含卤素阻燃剂的聚溴二苯醚在燃烧中能产生有毒气体如二恶英和二呋喃。所以,制备没有卤素化合物的阻燃剂已成为该领域的一个主要问题。
美国专利第3,639,506号披露了一种树脂组合物,该组合物使用磷酸三苯酯(TPP)作为阻燃剂以便给聚苯醚树脂和苯乙烯树脂提供阻燃性。然而,在这种情况下,应该加入含卤素混合以便克服耐热性降低的问题,因为由于加入了TPP,该树脂组合物的耐热性被降低。
美国专利第3,883,613号披露了一种树脂组合物,该组合物将磷酸三米基酯(trimesityl phosphate)用于聚苯醚树脂和苯乙烯树脂作为阻燃剂。美国专利第4,526,917号披露了使用TPP和磷酸三米基酯作为阻燃剂的树脂组合物。然而为获得足够的阻燃性需要大量的阻燃剂。
因此,本申请的发明人通过将环形烷基磷酸化合物用于橡胶改性苯乙烯树脂和聚苯醚树脂的混合物,开发了具有杰出阻燃性但不显示耐热性降低的阻燃热塑性树脂组合物。
发明目的
本发明的一个目的是通过使用环形基磷酸化合物作为阻燃剂,提供一种阻燃热塑性树脂组合物。
本发明的另一目的是提供一种具有良好耐热性的阻燃热塑性树脂组合物。
随后的说明和所附权利要求将使其它目的和优点更加明显。
发明内容
根据本发明的防火热塑性树脂组合物包括(A)20-90重量份橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂;(B)10-80重量份的聚苯醚树脂;(C)每100重量份(A)和(B)的总和0.1-30重量份的环形磷酸化合物;以及(D)每100重量份(A)和(B)的总和0-25重量份的芳香族磷酸酯化合物。
具体实施方式
(A)橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂
作为基础树脂用于本发明的橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂可以通过将橡胶、一种芳香族单-链烯基单体和/或烷基酯单体混合以及采用热聚合或聚合引发剂聚合来制备。
可用于本发明的橡胶包括丁二烯橡胶、异戊二烯橡胶、苯乙烯-丁二烯共聚物和烷基丙烯酸橡胶。该橡胶的用量为0-30重量份,优选0-15重量份。
此外,用于橡胶改性苯乙烯中的单体是一种或多种的单体,其选自由芳香族单-链烯基单体、丙烯酸或甲基丙烯酸烷基酯单体构成的组。单体的用量为70-100重量份,优选85-97重量份。
本发明的树脂组合物可以用热聚合或聚合引发剂聚合。用于本发明的聚合引发剂可以是一种或多种,其选自由有机过氧化物如过氧化苯甲酰、叔丁基过氧化氢、过氧化乙酰和过氧化氢异丙苯或偶氮化合物如偶氮双异丁腈(AIBN)构成的组。
本发明的橡胶改性苯乙烯树脂可以用已知聚合方法制得,例如本体聚合、悬浮聚合、乳液聚合或者其结合。其中优选本体聚合。
在考虑橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂和聚苯醚混合时为获得最佳物理性能,橡胶颗粒的平均尺寸优选在0.1-6.0μm(z-平均)的范围内,更优选0.25-3.5μm(z-平均)。该橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂或没有橡胶的聚苯乙烯树脂可以单独使用或者作为混合物结合使用。
(B)聚苯醚树脂(PPE)
聚苯醚被加到橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂中以提高阻燃性和耐热性。
聚苯醚树脂的实例包括聚2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚、聚2,6-二乙基-1,4-苯醚、聚2;6-二丙基-1,4-苯醚、聚2-甲基-6-乙基-1,4-苯醚、聚2-甲基-6-丙基-1,4-苯醚、聚2-乙基-6-丙基-1,4-苯醚、聚2,6-二苯基-1,4-苯醚、聚2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚与聚2,3,6-三甲基-1,4-苯醚的共聚物、以及聚2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚与聚2,3,5-三乙基-1,4-苯醚的共聚物。优选使用聚2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚与聚2,3,6-三甲基-1,4-苯醚、以及聚2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚的共聚物,更优选使用聚2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚。
对聚苯醚的聚合程度没有特别限制,但考虑树脂组合物的热稳定性或者可加工性,优选聚苯醚的粘度在0.2-0.8的范围(在25℃在氯仿溶剂中测得)。
基础树脂由20-90重量份橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂(A)和10-80重量份聚苯醚树脂(B)组成。
(C)环形磷酸酯化合物
用于本发明的环形磷酸酯化合物具有下面的结构式(I):

具有结构式(I)的环形磷酸酯化合物的实例包括甲基-双(5-乙基-2-甲基-1,3,2-二氧杂磷酰杂环己烷-5-基)甲基甲基磷酸酯P-氧化物(methyl-bis(5-ethyl-2-methyl-1,3,2-dioxaphorinan-5-yl)methylmethyl phosphonic acid ester P-oxide),甲基-双(5-乙基-2-甲基-1,3,2-二氧杂磷酰杂环己烷-5-基)磷酸酯P,P’-二氧化物(methyl-bis(5-ethyl-2-methyl-1,3,2-dioxaphorinan-5-yl)phosphonicacid ester P,P’-dioxide)。
本发明的环形磷酸酯化合物(C)的用量基于100重量份的含(A)+(B)的基础树脂在0.1-30重量份的范围。
(D)芳香族磷酸酯化合物
用于本发明的芳香族磷酸酯化合物具有下面的结构式(II):

其中R3、R4和R5彼此独立地为H或C1-4烷基;X为C6-20芳基或烷基取代的C6-20芳基,其衍生自二醇衍生物,如间苯二酚、对苯二酚和双酚-A;以及n为0-4。
当n为0时,结构式(II)代表的化合物是磷酸三苯酯、磷酸三甲苯酯、trixyrenyl phosphate、磷酸三(2,6-二甲苯基)酯、磷酸三(2,4,6-三甲苯基)酯、磷酸三(2,4-二叔丁苯基)酯、磷酸三(2,6-二叔丁苯基)酯,及其类似物,而当n为1时,该化合物包括间苯二酚双(二苯磷酸酯)、间苯二酚双(2,6-二甲苯基磷酸酯)、间苯二酚双(2,4-二叔丁苯基磷酸酯)、对苯二酚双(2,6-二甲苯基磷酸酯)、对苯二酚双(2,4-二叔丁苯基磷酸酯)及其类似物。该化合物可以单独使用或相互结合使用。
在本发明中,芳香族磷酸酯的用量可以在每100重量份基础树脂0-25重量份。
在本发明的树脂组合物中可以含有其它添加剂。这些添加剂包括抗滴落剂(anti-dripping agent)、抗冲改性剂、增塑剂、无机填料、热稳定剂、抗氧化剂、配伍剂、光稳定剂、颜料和/或染料。无机填料如金属氧化物、石棉。玻璃纤维、滑石、陶瓷、碳酸盐和硫酸盐。这些添加剂的使用量基于100重量份基础树脂为0至30重量份。

实施例
用于制备实施例和比较实施例中的防火热塑性树脂的成分如下:
(A)橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂
(a1)橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂:使用韩国Cheil Industries Inc生产的高抗冲聚苯乙烯树脂(商品名:HR-1380F)。丁二烯橡胶的颗粒尺寸可以为1.5μm。该橡胶用量为6.5%重量。
(a2)苯乙烯树脂:使用韩国Cheil Industries Inc生产的通用聚苯乙烯树脂(GPPS)(商品名:HF-2680),其平均分子量为210,000。
(B)聚苯醚树脂(PPE)
(b1)使用日本Aashi Kasei公司生产的粉状聚2,6-二甲基苯醚(商品名:P-402)。颗粒的平均尺寸为几个微米(μm)。
(b2)使用由GE生产的粉状聚2,6-二甲基苯醚(商品名:HPP-820),颗粒的平均尺寸为几个微米。
(C)环形磷酸酯化合物
使用R hodia公司生产的抗火焰1045,其含有20.8%的磷(一种重量比8%的甲基-双(5-乙基-2-甲基-1,3,2-二氧杂磷酰杂环己烷-5-基)甲基甲基磷酸酯P-氧化物与重量比85%的甲基-双(5-乙基-2-甲基-1,3,2-二氧杂磷酰杂环己烷-5-基)磷酸酯P,P’-二氧化物的混合物)。
(D)芳香族磷酸酯化合物
(d1)使用日本Daihachi化学公司生产的熔点为48℃的磷酸三苯酯。
(d2)使用日本Daihachi化学公司生产间苯二酚双(2,6-二甲苯)磷酸酯(商品名PX200)。
(d3)使用日本Daihachi化学公司生产的双酚-A二磷酸酯(商品名CR-741)。
(d4)使用日本Daihachi化学公司生产的间苯二酚二磷酸酯(商品名CR-733S)。
(E)添加剂
使用杜邦公司生产的Teflon(注册商标)。
实施例1-11
将表1中的组分混合,混合物用传统的双螺杆挤压机挤成颗粒。将树脂颗粒在80℃干燥3小时,用6盎司注模机在180~280℃和桶温40~80℃的条件模制成测试样品。按照UL94VB,用1/8”的厚度测量测试样品的阻燃性。按照ASTM D-1525在5kg下测试耐热性。测试结果列于表1中。

1.一种阻燃热塑性树脂组合物,包括:
(A)20-90重量份橡胶改性聚苯乙烯树脂;
(B)10-80重量份的聚苯醚树脂;
(C)基于100重量份(A)和(B)的总和的0.1-30重量份环形磷酸化合物;以及
(D)基于100重量份(A)和(B)的总和的0-25重量份芳香族磷酸酯化合物。
2.根据权利要求1所述的阻燃热塑性树脂组合物,其中所述聚苯醚树脂选自由下列物质组成的组:聚2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚、聚2,6-二乙基-1,4-苯醚、聚2,6-二丙基-1,4-苯醚、聚2-甲基-6-乙基-1,4-苯醚、聚2-甲基-6-丙基-1,4-苯醚、聚(2-乙基-6-丙基-1,4-苯醚、聚(2,6-二苯基-1,4-苯醚、聚(2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚和聚2,3,6-三甲基-1,4-苯醚的共聚物、以及聚2,6-二甲基-1,4-苯醚和聚2,3,5-三乙基-1,4-苯醚的共聚物。

4.根据权利要求1所述的阻燃热塑性树脂组合物,其中所述环形磷酸酯化合物是甲基-双(5-乙基-2-甲基-1,3,2-二氧杂磷酰杂环己烷-5-基)甲基甲基磷酸酯P-氧化物,或甲基-双(5-乙基-2-甲基-1,3,2-二氧杂磷酰杂环己烷-5-基)磷酸酯P,P’-二氧化物。
5.根据权利要求1所述的阻燃热塑性树脂组合物,其中所述环形磷酸酯化合物具有下面的结构式(II):

其中R3、R4和R5彼此独立地为H或C1-4烷基;X为C6-20芳基或烷基取代的C6-20芳基,其衍生自如间苯二酚、对苯二酚和双酚-A的二醇衍生物;以及n为0-4。
6.根据权利要求1所述的阻燃热塑性树脂组合物,其中进一步包括抗滴落剂、抗冲改性剂、增塑剂、无机填料、热稳定剂、抗氧化剂、配伍剂、光稳定剂、颜料和/或染料。
