Abstract

Description

快装式电池及支架
发明背景
本发明涉及蓄电池,尤其涉及将蓄电池在一支架内快速连接和安装。
目前,大多数用于启动发动机的汽车电池使用所熟悉的SAE型铅接线端。这种接线端通常需要一在电缆上的环圈型铅连接件。铅圈一般由螺母和螺栓紧固,由此需要安装工具,这样导致安装工艺相当困难和不方便。
本发明的目的是提供一种发动机启动电池和用于该电池的支架,电池可在不使用工具的情况下方便地插在和扣入支架中。该动作完成了电池端子至汽车电气系统的必要的电接触,并还可靠地安装了电池。
发明概要
根据本发明,电池有一外壳,该外壳具有若干带插座的端子延伸部。一电池支架具有若干导电插头,而导电插头具有当电池放入支架中时容纳在插座中的立柱。最好是,在电池外壳上的若干可释放的互连凸起和支架啮合,以把电池锁定在支架中。
支架形成为一托盘,该托盘一端壁中设置有若干插头,在托盘的相对的和相邻的端壁中形成一活铰链。插头包括容纳在电池外壳上的端子延伸部中对准的插座中的立柱。一壁架从电池外壳的与端子延伸部相对的端部伸出,并容纳在形成于托盘相对铰接端壁上的插锁部中。
在较佳实施例中,这些插座的纵向轴线平行于电池外壳的一端壁,诸立柱垂直于托盘的底板延伸。插头具有一孔,以容纳一连接于车辆电气系统的导体。

本发明省略了所需的工具,提高了安装的方便性,降低了由于关节擦伤、手腕扭伤或扳手或其它关节而引起的电池端子的偶然短路所形成的电火花所导致的的手碰伤的可能性。

较佳实施例的详细说明
参阅附图,图中示出了有关在1998年1月19日申请的转让给本申请的受让人的正在审理中的美国专利申请号09/008,719申请中所示出和描述的那类薄金属膜铅酸(lead-acid)电池。该审理中的申请的公开内容在此全部援引以作参考。
电池10具有一外壳,该外壳包含多个呈螺旋形卷绕的薄金属膜单元(未示出)。外壳包括一本体11、一顶部12和一热封于本体11的底部13。本体11包括侧向一体伸出的端子壳体14、15,它们靠近一端壁16的下部。本体11还包括一从相对端壁18延伸的凸起三角块17。
本体内的各单元电池彼此串联地连接在一起,还连接到容纳在端子延伸部14和15中的诸端子20。每个端子由铅或铅合金本体22制成,一垂直对齐的插座23容纳在本体22内。插座23最好是由Konnektech公司制造的以RADSOK作为注册商标上市的插座式连接件。由附图可知,插座23的顶部和底部可通到端子延伸部14和15的顶部和底部。
总的用数字30表示的支架制成一托盘状,它有两侧壁31、一底板32、一前端壁33和一后端壁34。四个弹性衬垫35以安装部36安装在底板32上。一对插头40伸过前端壁33。每一插头有一基部41、一伸过端壁33并以螺纹孔终止的连接部42和一直立柱体部44。柱体部44可容纳在一端子20的插座23中。螺纹孔43的作用是连接到一引向车辆电气系统的导体。插头40刚好安装在前端壁33中被切除部分45的平直表面中。托盘在插头40周围模制而成,或通过将插头40插过设置在前端壁33中的矩形开口而形成。
侧壁31用沿侧壁31的周边间隔设置的三角块46加固。两准直用的立柱47在托盘对角的拐角附近形成在底板32中并伸出底板32。准直用立柱47开有切口,以在底板32为衬垫安装部36留有空间,立柱是锥形的,方便插入设置在底部13中的两圆筒形眼孔(未示出)中,并方便从中取出。
后端壁34有一模制到端壁中的铰接部50,它有一伸出的插锁部51。铰接部50形成为一塑料部件设计领域中技术人员所众所周知的“活铰链”。
电池10从上面插入支架30,其中立柱44滑入和容纳在端子的插座23中。电池一直插到它抵靠在衬垫35上为止。衬垫35被略微压缩,直到插锁部51与电池外壳上的三角块17啮合为止。当这样安装时,电池被可靠地安装在支架30内。然而,抓住铰接部50使插锁部51从三角块17中释放出来,就能方便地使电池松开,由此可从支架中取出电池。
端子20和21最好是由铅或铅合金铸造而成,插座连接件23插入模制在适当的位置。最好对插座23进行镀镍,然后镀上铅锡合金,以耐酸和盐雾的腐蚀。端子20可被挤压焊接(extrusion welded)/氧炔焊(fusion welded)到一单元电池的相邻铅带上。一用硅酮或氟硅酮油处理过的橡胶衬垫围绕在端壁16中的用于焊接的开口。插头40最好由黄铜或铜合金铸造成单件,并也进行镀镍,随后镀上铅锡合金,以耐腐蚀。通过一利用在插头40中的螺纹孔43的螺钉将电池电缆连接到插头40上,以完成到车辆电气系统的电气连接。
尽管所示的是电池垂直插入的支架,但也可将支架和其插头设计成允许电池以任何角度滑入支架,包括水平和垂直方向。

Claims (14)

1.一种电池系统,它包括一电池和一电池支架,其特征在于:电池有一外壳,在外壳的一端具有若干包括空心插座的端子;以及支架具有若干连接到电线的导电插头,这些插头包括当电池插入支架中时容纳在插座中的立柱。
2.如权利要求1所述的电池系统,其特征在于,支架有一与电池外壳上的一凸起啮合的可释放插锁部。
3.如权利要求2所述的电池系统,其特征在于,支架是一托盘,插头穿过托盘的一端壁延伸,插锁部形成在托盘的一相对端壁上。
4.如权利要求3所述的电池系统,其特征在于,支架有一底板,底板上安装若干弹性衬垫,以支承在支架中的电池外壳。
5.如权利要求4所述的电池系统,其特征在于,端子设置在电池外壳一端壁的延伸部中,插座的方向基本上与电池外壳的端壁平行,其中这些立柱垂直于托盘的底板延伸。
6.如权利要求3所述的电池系统,其特征在于,每一插头有一通向托盘外面的螺纹孔。
7.如权利要求1所述的电池系统,其特征在于,插座插入模制于端子中。
8.一种电池系统,它包括一电池和一电池支架,其特征在于:电池有一外壳,在外壳的一侧或多侧具有若干端子延伸部,每一端子延伸部安装一具有空心插座的端子;支架是一托盘,具有一底板和若干直立侧壁,若干端子插头安装在托盘的一个或多个侧壁中,并包括若干容纳在插座中的立柱;以及一安装在托盘上的与电池外壳可释放啮合的插锁部。
9.一用于电池的电池支架,电池具有一在电池外壳外面的端子和在端子中的空心插座,所述支架包括:一具有一底板和若干直立侧壁的托盘;以及一穿过托盘一侧壁延伸的导电插头,所述插头有一在托盘内部的立柱,以容纳所述插座,还有一在托盘外面的连接部,以容纳一导体。
10.如权利要求9所述的支架,其特征在于,所述连接部是一螺纹孔。
11.如权利要求9所述的支架,其特征在于,托盘的另一侧壁有一与电池外壳啮合的插锁部。
12.如权利要求9所述的支架,其特征在于,底板上有若干弹性衬垫,电池外壳可靠在上面。
13.一种电池,具有一电池外壳,所述外壳带有一对朝外延伸的设置在端子延伸部中的端子和插入所述端子中的空心插座。
14.如权利要求13所述的电池,其特征在于,插座通向电池外壳的底部。
