Description

涂膜刀具
本发明涉及一种特别适用于车削加工铸铁工件的涂膜刀具(硬质合金(cemented carbide)刀具)。
铸铁材料主要可分为两类:灰口铸铁和球墨铸铁。典型地,铸铁材料常具有一个含砂子、铁锈和其它杂质的浇铸表皮外层,而且还具有一个表面区域,该表面区域被脱碳并且含有比该材料之其它区域更多的铁素体。
采用Al2O3涂膜刀具切削加工灰口铸铁材料时的磨损主要是化学磨损、磨蚀磨损和所谓的粘着磨损。为保护刀具免受化学磨损需采用尽可能厚的Al2O3涂层。而这与该类型涂层的粘着磨损性质相矛盾。当涂层碎片或单个晶粒被所形成的工件碎屑从刀口处拉下时发生粘着磨损。特别是具有高含量铁素体的表面区域,对涂层的粘附性提出极高的要求,而且与工件上的浇铸表皮的内含物相结合,在主刀口的切口处造成切口磨损。
切削加工灰口铸铁的另一关键因素是对硬质合金刀具和涂层界面间过量Co粘结相的敏感度。过量的Co粘结相降低了涂层与硬质合金间的粘合力,并在切削加工过程中导致涂层剥落。
瑞典专利申请9502640-7中公开了一种特别适用于车削加工低合金钢的涂膜刀具,它由硬质合金体组成,其中包含5-11wt%的Co,<10%、优选为1.5-7.5wt%的金属Ti、Ta和/或Nb的立方碳化物,其余为WC。
令人惊奇地发现,结合以下特征:硬质合金体,其具有熔合高含量W的粘结相、低含量立方碳化物以及由特殊烧结过程制成的具有严格组成的表面组成,柱状TiCxNyOz层,结构化α-Al2O3层,TiN层,可满足容易辨别使用过的刀口的要求,以及通过刷光操作对涂膜刀口进行后处理,从而可获得适用于加工铸铁材料、特别是灰口铸铁的、性能优良的刀具。

硬质合金刀具的表面组成是被严格限定的,表面中Co的含量在指定含量的-4wt%至+4wt%范围内。
换而言之,本发明硬质合金由WC和Co组成,并含有约100-350μm、优选为150-300μm的宽的粘结相贫化表面区域,其中粘结相的含量单调且以非步进的形式增加,其最大值不大于硬质合金体内部的指定含量。在50μm表面区域内平均粘结相含量为指定粘结相含量的25-75%、优选为40-60%。
涂层包括:

A、将组成为6.0wt%Co、其余为WC的CNMG 120412-KM型硬质合金刀具按常规方法于1410℃下烧结,并在0.6bar H2中冷却至1200℃,获得具有熔合高含量W之粘结相的刀具,能散分光法测得相应的CW比率为0.85,表面Co含量为7wt%。常规ER处理后,在刀具上涂布0.5μm的等轴TiCxNyOz层,x=0.1,y=0.9,z=0,其平均晶粒粒径约0.2μm,然后采用MTCVD技术(处理温度850℃,CH3CN作为碳/氮源)再涂布8.0μm厚柱状晶粒的TiCxNyOz层,x=0.55,y=0.45,该晶粒的平均粒径为2.5μm。在该涂布循环的随后步骤中,沉积1μm厚等轴晶粒的TiCxNyOz(大约x=0.6,y=0.2,z=0.2)层,该晶粒的平均粒径为0.2μm,然后再依照US 5,654,035中给出的条件沉积5.0μm厚的(012)-结构化α-Al2O3层,其晶粒的平均粒径约1.2μm。在α-Al2O3层的顶部,将TiN/TiC/TiN/TiC/TiN以多层结构形式沉积,该涂层总厚度为1.5μm,每层中晶粒的平均粒径<0.3μm。最后,对刀具进行刷光处理,其中采用磨料为SiC的320目刷使刀口线光滑,并通过刷光处理沿刀口线除去TiN/TiC外复合层。
B、按A)中所描述的方法涂布组成为6.0wt%Co、其余为WC的CNMG 120412-KM型硬质合金刀具。刀具的CW比率为0.88,对其进行常规烧结处理,冷却时不加H2气氛。涂布前,采用其中涉及US5,380,408中所公开的电解蚀刻法的表面清洗步骤对刀具进行表面清洗。能散分光法测得刀具表面Co含量约为5wt%。该硬质合金具有一个约250mym宽的粘结相贫化表面区域,其中粘结相含量单调且非步进地增加,其最大值不超过硬质合金内部的指定含量。在25mym表面区域中粘结相的平均含量为3wt%。按A)中的相同方法对刀具作最终刷光处理。
C、将与A)中同一批的CNMG120412-KM型硬质合金刀具依据现有技术涂布4μm的等轴TiC层,其晶粒粒径<2.0μm,然后再涂布6μm厚的Al2O3层。XRD分析结果显示,Al2O3层由α-和κ-Al2O3的混合物组成,比例为60/40。XRD测定结果显示α-Al2O3层无优势生长方向。κ-Al2O3的晶粒粒径为2.0μm,而α-Al2O3的晶粒粒径高达5.5μm。
D、与C同批的硬质合金刀具。涂布完成后对刀具进行水砂抛光处理。
E、将与A同批的CNMG 120412-KM型硬质合金刀具涂布2μm的等轴TiCxNyOz层,其晶粒的平均粒径为0.2μm,然后依据现有技术沉积8μm厚的柱状TiCN层,其晶粒的粒径约3.0μm,并采用与A)相同的条件沉积6μm厚的(012)—结构化α-Al2O3层。按A)中的相同方法对刀具作刷光处理。
F、按A)中所描述的相同方法涂布组成为6wt%Co、4wt%立方碳化物、其余为WC的CNMG 120412-KM型硬质合金刀具。刀具的CW比率为0.88,并对它们进行烧结处理,其中在冷却步骤中采用H2气氛,能散分光法测得表面Co含量为9%。按A)中的相同方法对刀具作最终刷光处理。
G、按E中所描述的方法涂布组成为6.0wt%Co、其余为WC的CNMG 120412-KM型硬质合金刀具。刀具的CW比率为0.98,并对它们进行烧结处理,其中在冷却步骤中不采用H2气氛。对刀具作ER处理,并按常规方法进行清洗。能散分光法测得涂布前表面Co含量为30wt%。按A中的相同方法对刀具作最终刷光处理。
在端面车削操作中测试刀具。工件材料为球墨铸铁SS717。工件的形状在每一旋转中造成间歇性切削。切削速度为250m/min,进刀速度0.10mm/rev,切削深度2.0mm。采用冷却剂进行操作。
这种类型的操作通常造成涂层严重剥落。涂层以碎片形式从刀具上脱落。将涂层剥落的刀口线部分与用于切削操作的刀口线总长相比,由此评估磨损程度。

将上述实施例1中的A、B、D和E型刀具用于间歇性切削灰口铸铁SS0125的测试中。该切削条件对涂层的抗剥落性以及涂层的抗化学磨损和抗磨蚀磨损性提出很高要求。工件的形状使得每转对工件进两次刀,从而造成间歇性切削。切削速度为300m/min,进刀速度0.25mm/rev,切削深度2.0mm。切削时不使用冷却剂。

将上述实施例1中的A、B和G型硬质合金刀具进行车削实验,该实验使刀口变形并导致涂层剥落,从而加速刀具的磨损。采用灰口铸铁SS0737进行实验,在纵向切削操作中结合一定进刀速度和车削深度。观察使硬质合金变形前最高的可能切削速度。

Claims (5)

1、一种包含涂层和硬质合金体的刀具,其特征在于,所述硬质合金体由WC、5-10wt%的Co、和<0.5wt%选自周期表中IVb、Vb、VIb族的金属立方碳化物组成,其具有熔合高含量W的粘结相,CW比率为0.8-0.9,所述硬质合金体的表面组成被严格限定,表面上Co的含量处于指定值的-4wt%至+4wt%范围内,而且所述涂层包括:
—等轴晶粒的TiCxNyOz第一(最里)层,其中x+y+z=1,y>x且z<0.1,厚度为0.1-2μm,晶粒粒径<0.5μm,
—柱状晶粒的TiCxNyOz层,其中x+y+z=1,z=0,x>0.3且y>0.3,厚度为5-10μm,晶粒粒径<2μm,
—等轴或针状晶粒的TiCxNyOz层,其中x+y+z=1,z<0.5,x>y,厚度为0.1-2μm,晶粒粒径<0.5μm,
—结构化细晶粒(0.5-2μm)的光滑α-Al2O3层,厚度为3-6μm,以及
—TiCxNyOz外层,x+y+z=1,z<0.05,其厚度为0.5-3μm,晶粒粒径<1μm,
且至少在刀口线中除去所述外层,使得所述Al2O3层沿刀口线处于顶层,并且所述TiCxNyOz外层为清理边上的顶层。
2、如前述权利要求所述的刀具,其特征在于,所述α-Al2O3层具有(012)方向的晶体结构,晶体结构系数TC(012)大于1.3。
3、如任一前述权利要求所述的刀具,其特征在于,所述第一(最里)TiCxNyOz层具有组成z<0.5且y<0.1。
4、如任一前述权利要求所述的刀具,其特征在于,所述TiCxNyOz外层包含TiN/TiC/TiN以一种或几种顺序构成的复合层。
5、包含涂层和硬质合金体之刀具的制造方法,其特征在于,对基料为WC-Co的硬质合金体进行烧结处理,其包括于0.4-0.9bar的氢气氛中至少冷却至低于1200℃的冷却步骤,然后涂布:
—厚度为0.1-2μm的等轴晶粒的TiCxNyOz第一(最里)层,所述晶粒粒径<0.5μm,所采用已知的CVD法,
—厚度为4-12μm的柱状晶粒的TiCxNyOz层,所述晶粒粒径<5μm,采用MTCVD技术沉积,用乙腈作碳和氮源,在850-900℃构成该涂层,
—厚度为0.1-2μm的等轴或针状晶粒的TiCxNyOz层,所述晶粒粒径<0.5μm,采用已知的CVD方法,
—厚度为3-8μm的、光滑的结构化α-Al2O3层,其晶体结构具有(012)、(104)、或(110)方向,采用已知的CVD方法,
—厚度为0.5-3μm的TiCxNyOz外层,采用已知的CVD方法,然后进一步
通过刷光或喷砂处理将至少在刀口线中的所述TiCxNyOz外层除去,使得所述Al2O3层沿刀口线处于顶层,并且所述TiCxNyOz外层为刀具清理边上的顶层。
