频道选择方法和装置
本发明涉及一种具有调谐器的装置,具体地说,涉及一种频道选择方法和装置。
通常,具有调谐器的视频处理器,如盒式磁带录像机(VCR)或电视(TV)机,每当有频道转换请求时总是选择一个新的频道。通过调谐器转向新频道的频率从而使频道转换。因此,频道转换被延迟。在数字TV机中,如高清晰度电视(HDTV)为观看第二代(next generation)数字广播,与为观看NTSC(国家电视制式委员会)模拟广播的TV相比,前者花费了较长的时间来选择频道。这是因为调谐器需要很长的时间去调谐新频道的频率,特别是花费了较长的时间用于数字TV中的传送(TS)流解码器以检测参考屏的开始位置。如果频道被转换,TS解码器重新检测提供给新频道的包识别(PLD)和帧内(I)(intia(I)frame)的开始位置,从而消耗很多时间。因此,当频道被转换时观看者将等待很长时间。也就是说,由于每当频道被转换时频道选择操作总是再次从头开始,因此选择频道花费了很长的时间。
有鉴于此本发明的目的在于提供一种频道选择方法和装置,它能够减少切换频道的时间。
根据本发明的方案,除了通过使用两个调谐器中的一个选择当前观看的频道外,预计要选择的一个频道通过使用另一个调谐器预先选择。如果对预计要选择的频道请求了频道转换时,预先选择频道的信号作为观看频道的信号被选择。
通过下述结合附图的详细描述,本发明的上述目的和其他目的、特征和优点将会更加清楚。
图1是本发明的频道选择装置的方框图;和
图2A-2B是根据本发明由图1中所示微处理器执行的频道选择处理的流程图。
在下面的描述中,公知的功能和结构不再详细描述,以便清楚地描述本发明。
在图1中,本发明的频道选择装置被加到采用MPEG(运动图像专家组)标准的HDTV中。在图中,与本发明无直接关系的部分没有示出。第一调谐器102通过天线100接收一个数字TV广播信号并通过微处理器118的控制选择一个频道。而且,第一调谐器102产生选择频道的一个中频(IF)信号。第一IF模件(module)104把第一调谐器102产生的IF信号转换成一个基带信号。第一频道解码器106解码第一IF模件104产生的基带信号,以再现一个数据位流。通过微处理器118的控制,第一TS解码器108把第一频道解码器106再现的数据位流分离成声频和视频数据。
第二调谐器110通过天线100接收数字TV广播信号并通过微处理器118的控制选择频道。而且,第二调谐器110产生选择频道的一个IF信号。第二IF模件112把第二调谐器110产生的IF信号转换成一个基带信号。第二频道解码器114解码第二IF模件112产生的基带信号,以再现一个数据位流。通过微处理器118的控制,第二TS解码器116把第二频道解码器114再现的数据位流分离成声频和视频数据。
从第一和第二TS解码器108和116产生的声频和视频数据被提供给声频/视频开关124。通过微处理器118的控制,声频/视频开关124选择第一TS解码器108的输出或第二TS解码器116的输出作为当前观看频道的信号。根据MPEG标准,从声频/视频开关124选择的声频和视频数据被分别提供给一个声频解码器(未图示)和一个视频解码器(未图示)并被解码。解码的声频和视频数据经过信号处理并产生声音和图像。
键盘输入部分122被连接到微处理器118,它是HDTV的控制器。键盘输入部分122具有一个键盘和一个用于从遥控器接收红外信号的红外接收器。根据键盘输入部分122的键盘输入,微处理器118通过执行存储在存储器120中的程序控制HDTV的全部操作。存储器120包括一个用于存储微处理器118的一个程序的只读存储器(ROM);一个用于暂时地存储在执行微处理器118的程序的过程中产生的数据的随机存取存储器(RAM);一个用于存储各种参考数据的电可擦可编程只读存储器(EEPROM),等等。
第一和第二调谐器102和110、第一和第二IF模件104和12、第一和第二频道解码器106和114、第一和第二解码器108和116、存储器120和声频/视频开关124通过一个总线连接到微处理器118。
图2A至2B是由图1所示的微处理器118执行的频道选择过程的一个流程图。图2A和2B中所示的功能在存储器120的ROM中被编制成程序。
如果HDTV的电源被提供,微处理器118在步骤200把第一调谐器102设置到主调谐器并把第二调谐器110设置到次(sub)调谐器。在步骤202,微处理器118通过被设置到主调谐器的第一调谐器102选择一个当前观看的频道。微处理器118在步骤204操作顺次连接到主调谐器的IF模件、频道解码器和TS解码器。在步骤206,微处理器118选择由主调谐器选择频道的信号,即,通过声频/视频开关124从TS解码器产生的作为观看频道信号的声频和视频数据。因此,当前观看频道的IF信号从第一调谐器102产生并通过第一IF模件104转换成基带信号。转换的信号通过第一频道解码器106解码并被提供给第一TS解码器108。通过声频/视频开关124,第一TS解码器108产生的声频和视频数据作为当前观看频道的信号被选择,并产生声音和图像。
在步骤208-218,微处理器118确定预计要选择的频道并通过设置到次调谐器的第二调谐器110预先选择预计的频道。此外,微处理器118操作顺次连接到第二调谐器110的第二IF模件112、第二频道解码器114和第二TS解码器116到备用状态。更详细地,微处理器118在步骤208中检查是否已预先按下频道选择键。如果是,微处理器118在步骤210检查频道上行键(channel up key)是否最近被按下。如果频道选择键没有被按下或如果频道上行键(channel up key)已经被按下,微处理器118在步骤212测定当前观看频道的下一号码(next number)的频道作为要选择的频道。如果一个频道下行键(channel down key)最近被按下,微处理器118测定当前观看频道的先前号码(previous number)的频道作为在步骤214要选择的频道。由于频道下行和上行键中的任何一个被连续按下的情况比频道下行或上行键被交替按下的情况更为频繁,步骤212或214被执行。由于电源被提供,当频道选择键没有被按下时,当前观看频道的先前号码的频道可作为要选择的频道被测定。
选择了将要被选择的该频道后,微处理器118在步骤216通过次调谐器预先选择将要被选择的频道。接下来,微处理器118操作顺次连接到第二调谐器110的IF模件、频道解码器和TS解码器到备用状态。换句话说,将要被选择的下一个频道的频率通过次调谐器被预先地调谐。PID和I帧的开始位置被连接到次调谐器的TS解码器检测。
微处理器118在步骤220检查频道选择键是否被按下。如果频道选择键被按下,微处理器118在步骤222检查由频道选择键指定的频道是否等于次调谐器预先选择的频道。如果它们彼此不相等,步骤222返回到步骤202。如果它们彼此相等,微处理器118在步骤224设置主调谐器到次调谐器,设置次调谐器到主调谐器。步骤224接下来是步骤204。因此选择当前频道的第一调谐器102被设置到次调谐器,第二调谐器110被设置到主调谐器。在这种情况下,由于第二调谐器110已经预先选择一个将要被转换的频道,因此能够迅速转换频道而无须另外的调谐。而且,由于第二IF模件,第二频道解码器114和第二TS解码器116处于备用状态,转换了频道的广播能够被立即观看。
因而,除了通过使用第一调谐器选择当前观看的频道外,将要选择的下一个频道通过使用第二调谐器被预先选择。此外,连接到第二调谐器的IF模件、频道解码器和TS解码器被预先准备,从而大大缩短了转换频道的时间。如果测定的要选择频道不同于观看者想要的频道,需要的时间与普通频道选择方法所需时间相同。但是,由于测定的要选择频道等于观看者想要的频道的概率比较高,因此转换频道的时间能够被缩短。
虽然本发明示出的实施例已经被应用于HDTV,它可应用于通过使用调谐器选择频道的所有装置。此外,可以使用2个调谐器、一个IF模件、一个频道解码器和一个TS解码器代替使用两个调谐器、两个IF模件、两个频道解码器和两个TS解码器。而且,在模拟TV或盒式磁带录像机中,仅使用两个调谐器而无须使用频道解码器和TS解码器。
如上所述,通过预先选择将要被选择的下一个频道能够明显地缩减转换频道的时间。
由于本发明已经参考其特定的优选实施例被图示和描述,可以理解,在不脱离本发明的权利要求规定的本发明的精神和保护范围的情况下,本领域的技术人员可以对形式和细节作出各种变化。

Claims (10)

1.一种具有第一和第二调谐器的视频处理器的频道选择方法,包括步骤:
通过使用所说的第一调谐器选择一个当前观看的频道;
通过使用所说的第二调谐器预先选择一个预计将要选择的频道;
如果对预计要选择的频道请求了频道转换时,选择预先选择频道的信号作为所说的观看频道的信号。
2.如权利要求1的频道选择方法,其中,进一步包括为了从频道上行键和频道下行键中响应最近按下的频道选择键而预计下一个将要被选择的频道的步骤。
3.如权利要求2的频道选择方法,其中,该预计步骤包括步骤:
如果所说的频道上行键是最近按下的频道选择键,测定所说的当前观看频道的下一号码的频道作为将要被选择的频道;以及
如果所说的频道下行键是最近被按下的频道选择键,测定所说的当前观看频道的先前号码的频道作为将要选择的频道。
4.一种视频处理器的频道选择装置,包括:
一个键盘输入部分,包括一个频道选择键;
用于选择不同频道的第一和第二调谐器;
一个用于产生当前观看频道的信号的声频/视频开关;和
一个控制器,用于通过设置所说的第一调谐器到一个主调谐器,选择当前观看的频道,通过设置所说的第二调谐器到一个次调谐器,预先选择一个预计要选择的频道,当对预计要选择的频道请求频道转换时设置所说的次调谐器到所说的主调谐器,以及通过所说的声频/视频开关选择由所说的主调谐器选择频道的信号作为所说的观看频道的信号。
5.如权利要求4的频道选择装置,其中,进一步包括:
第一和第二中频模件,用于把从所说的第一和第二调谐器产生的中频信号转换成基带信号;
第一和第二频道解码器,用于解码从所说的第一和第二中频模件产生的所说的基带信号,以再现数据位流;和
第一和第二传送流解码器,用于把由所说的第一和第二频道解码器再现的所说的数据位流分成声频和视频数据;
6.如权利要求5的频道选择装置,其中,响应频道上行键和频道下行键中的最近按下的频道选择键所说的控制器测定下一个将要选择的频道。
7.如权利要求6的频道选择装置,其中,当所说的频道上行键是最近按下的频道选择键时,所说的控制器测定所说的当前观看频道的下一号码的频道作为将要选择的频道,并当所说的频道下行键是最近被按下的频道选择键时,测定所说的当前观看频道的先前号码的频道作为将要选择的频道。
8.如权利要求7的频道选择装置,其中,当由于提供了所说的视频处理器的电源,所说的频道选择键没有被按下时所说的控制器测定所说的下一号码的频道作为将要选择的频道。
9.如权利要求8的频道选择装置,其中,当所说的频道选择键指定的频道等于由所说的次调谐器选择的频道时,所说的控制器设置所说的主调谐器到次调谐器,设置所说的次调谐器到所说的主调谐器。
10.如权利要求9的频道选择装置,其中,所说的控制器是所说的视频处理器的主控制装置的一个微处理器。
