技术领域
本发明涉及在电信网中,特别是移动通信网中的电子支付机制。
背景技术
在不久的将来,电子支付机制将通过电信网广泛地应用于产生和接收支付,例如不同的服务,货物或信息。在一次交易过程中,通称为电子代用币(token)的电子形式取代了货币,并且在用户间相互交换。也被称为电子货币或电子现金的数字现金是主要模仿普通现金的电子代用币的一种形式。然而,电子代用币还可以设计成针对其他电子支付形式的电子模拟,包括来自银行或其他金融机构的支票和信用卡。后面的这些可选方式是为那些愿意使用信用卡或其他一些非现金的机制进行支付的人设计的。
在一个电子代用币系统中,代用币可存储在用户卡或计算机中,并且它们可在远程交易用户之间直接交换。这种交换不需要固定的网络设施并且能够通过一个临时的网络连接来实现,例如,通过使用无线网的移动站。也提出了需要在线第三方支付服务器处理交易的其他电子支付机制。它们不同于电子代用币系统的方面是,它们依赖于网络设施并且需要至少一个附加方在线介入。有关电子支付机制的标准还没有出现,因此在市场上有几种相互竞争的方法。
使用诸如数字现金的电子支付机制的最有益的一种方法是提供一个具有此功能的诸如便携电话的移动站。由于存在许多相互竞争的方法,实际的问题是决定在移动站中应当使用哪一种电子支付机制。在移动站中实现一种电子支付机制需要时间并且产生很大的设计和投资费用。更换支付机制或增加一个新的支付机制需要新的设计和投资。并且,在使用过程中还将逐步产生不同型号的移动站,而这些移动站需要移动网提供不同的服务。因此,提供具有满足尽可能多的用户的特殊需求并且在至少一个合理的时间段内不必变换的电子支付机制的移动站是非常重要的。另一方面,如果引入一种新的电子支付机制以便在其他地方普遍使用,从竞争的观点来看尽快在移动站中使用这种机制是非常有用的。因此,对于在移动系统中实现一种电子支付服务而言,存在不同的问题和相互冲突的需求。
对于其他电信网的终端设备也存在同样的问题。
发明内容
本发明的一个目的是在电信系统中,特别是在移动系统中实现一种电子支付服务并且消除或至少缓解上述问题。
在一个基于本发明的,通过数据网在电信系统终端设备和其他交易方之间进行电子交易的系统中可以实现本发明的上述目的,其他目的和优点。该系统的特征在于,它包括一个支付服务网关,该支付服务网关包括一个第一支付协议接口,和至少一个其他的支付协议接口,其中第一支付协议接口支持用于终端设备支付交易的第一电子支付协议,而至少一个其他的支付协议接口与数据网相连,并且支持与用于其他交易方的支付交易的上述第一电子支付协议接口相同或不同的电子支付协议,支付服务网关被用来在第一和上述至少一个其他支付协议接口之间进行支付交易的协议适配。

具体实施方式
如上所述,本发明最优实施例的基本原理是为电信系统的终端设备提供一种通用支付机制,并且包含涉及服务单元,即服务网关中某个支付机制的所有计算机程序和机制,其中该服务单元位于网络设施中并且通过该服务单元传递交易。通过使用其他交易方所支持的电子支付方法,该服务网关作为终端设备的代表与其他交易方进行交易。

通过PLMN所建立的数据连接进行涉及移动站MS和服务网关10之间的交易的通信。该数据连接是一个交换数据连接,或一个诸如包交换连接的虚拟数据连接等等。如果PLMN提供一个短消息服务,那么也可以在这种方式下实现通用支付接口,即移动站MS通过短消息服务与一个按次序与局域网LAN1相连的支付短消息服务中心通信。如图5中虚线13所示,另一种可选的方式不是通过局域网LAN1进行连接,而是把服务网关10直接连到PLMN。例如当使用上述短消息服务时,可以通过与短消息中心和PLMN之间的普通连接相同的方式来实现连接13。在任何情况下服务网关10均具有一个到达某个公共数据网的数据连接,该连接可以是直接,也可以通过一个局域网或其他的传输设施。
需要强调的是电子支付协议是端对端的用户应用协议,即通过诸如传输控制协议/网间协议(TCP/IP)的低层通信协议的用户数据域来传输用户数据。因此,它与支付协议,本发明在不同通信网中使用的通信协议,或通信协议间所需求的适配无关。
从上面的讨论可以发现,根据移动系统可以通过几种方式来实现移动站MS和服务网关10之间的连接。因此本发明不仅限于一个特定移动系统或某种在移动站MS和服务网关10之间实现连接以便进行交易的方式。可以使用本发明的PLMN的一个例子是泛欧数字移动系统GSM,在GSM建议和GSM移动通信系统(The GSM System for Mobile Communications),M.Mouly和M.B.Pautet,Palaiseau,法国,ISBN:2-9507190-0-7中更详细地描述了GSM。为了图解在一个与移动站MS连接的数据终端设备DTE(例如PC)和通用数据网之间建立的数据连接,本申请人引用了一个先前的国际专利申请,PCT/FI94/00413。在所引用的申请中,一个提供到数据网的连接的专用接入计算机和一个移动服务交换中心配合使用。在整个数据会话期间保持与数据网的连接,但只在实际的数据传输时才建立移动站和接入计算机之间的连接,因而节省了无线资源和连接费用。通过这种已知的方式,最好能够把通过局域网LAN1在移动站MS和服务网关10之间建立的,用于基于本发明的支付机制的连接实现成为一个Internet连接。也可以把基于本发明的服务网关10连接到这个接入计算机。通过局域网连接服务网关10的好处是能够为公司的所有移动服务交换中心服务。
下面,通过一个示例性的交易解释如何把基于本发明的支付服务适配到一个移动系统上。参照图5,假设有三个分别使用数字支付协议#1,#2及#3的商店14,15和16通过一个第二局域网LAN2与通用数据网12连接。还假定一个使用移动站系统MS的用户从商店15进行购货服务并且通过移动站MS使用基于本发明的数字支付服务为购货服务付款。对所包含的服务的支付对应于数字现金的总量A。商店15,精确地说是商店的计算机或收款系统,以基于商店15使用的支付协议#2的方式向客户给出的网络地址请求现金总量A。该网络地址是服务网关10的网络地址,并且因此该请求通过局域网LAN2,公共数据网12及局域网LAN1被路由到服务网关10。服务网关10在支持支付协议#2的支付协议接口21上接收该请求。控制单元23在数据库11中检查用户的电子钱包是否含有足够支付总量A的数字现金。如果没有,则控制单元23把此情况指示给支付协议接口21,该接口接着通过使用一个基于支付协议#2的消息把信息传送给商店15。如果数据库11包括足够量的数字现金以完成支付,则控制单元把此情况指示给接口单元21,此后接口21通过协议转换单元22把一个支付请求传送给通用支付协议接口20。接着支付协议接口20以基于通用数字支付协议的方式把一个支付请求传送给移动站。移动站MS接收支付请求并且通过移动站或数据终端设备的显示器把它显示给用户。如果用户通过从移动站或数据终端设备的键盘输入的一个命令入接受该项支付,则移动站MS通过PLMN和局域网LAN1传送一个确认消息给服务网关10。通用支付协议接口20接收确认消息并通过协议转换单元22把它传送给支付协议接口21。支付协议接口21向控制单元23指示该确认,而控制单元23从数据库11中的用户电子钱包把对应于所需的总量A的数字现金转移到支付协议接口21。支付协议接口21以基于支付协议#2的方式把数字现金发送到商店15。如图3和4所示,在支付协议#1和#2中数字现金可以具有不同的形式,因此会需要两个数据库。
也可以只在用户接受交易之后检查用户的金融资源。
当使用其他的支付协议#1和#3时,通用支付协议接口的操作与使用支付协议#2期间的操作相同。另一方面,控制单元23的操作和数据库11中的数据可以不同。例如,如果支付协议#1是基于用户的信用卡的,则控制单元23在数据库11中检查用户信用卡中的余额是否足够支付,并且当它接受支付时把总支付额增加到信用卡中。
服务网关10还被安排自动对用户花费的电子货币进行计费。可以通过不同的方法实现这个功能。已花费的货币可包括在移动用户的电话费中,或稍后单独交付,或已经预付,或使用一些其他支付的方式。
还应注意的是基于本发明的服务网关只有一种可能的实现,其操作在上面已经描述。显然本领域的技术人员根据这个例子可以有多种可选的实施例。
附图和相关的描述仅是为了说明本发明。在不脱离下面的权利要求书范围的情况下可以改变本发明的细节。

Claims (7)

1、一种在电信系统中的一个终端设备和其他交易方之间进行电子支付交易的系统,其特征在于,该系统包括一个支付服务网关,,该网关包括:
一个第一支付协议接口,其中对于终端设备的支付交易该接口支持一个第一电子支付协议,
至少一个与数据网连接的其他支付协议接口,该接口支持与上述其他交易方的支付交易所使用的第一电子支付协议接口相同或不同的电子支付协议,并且
支付服务网关被用来对第一和上述至少一个其他支付协议接口之间的支付交易进行协议适配。
2、如权利要求1所述的系统,其特征在于:
上述支付服务网关通过一个诸如移动网公司的局域网的数据网连接到移动网。
3、如权利要求1所述的系统,其特征在于:
上述支付服务网关被直接连到移动网。
4、一种通过一个数据网在电信系统中的一个终端设备和其他交易方之间进行电子支付交易的方法,其特征在于:
通过支付服务网关路由该支付交易,
不管上述其他交易方的电子支付协议如何,在终端设备与网关之间的所有支付交易中使用一个第一电子支付协议,
在网关与上述其他交易方之间的各个支付交易中使用上述其他交易方的电子支付协议。
5、如权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于:
在上述支付服务网关中对上述第一支付协议和各个其他交易方的支付协议之间进行一次协议转换。
6、如权利要求4或5所述的方法,其特征在于上述电信网是一个数字移动网,并且在支付服务网关和终端设备之间的通信可以直接通过移动网实现,也可以通过移动网和一个定位在支付服务网关和移动网之间的一个数据网实现。
7、一种在电信网中的一个终端设备和其他交易方之间进行交易的设备,其特征在于,该设备包括:
通过在与该终端设备的支付交易中使用一个第一电子支付协议,执行与该终端设备的交易的第一装置,第一电子支付协议独立于其他交易方所支持的一个第二电子支付协议,
通过使用上述其他交易方所支持的第二电子支付协议,执行与所述其他交易方的支付交易的第二装置,
在所述第一电子支付协议和第二电子支付协议之间执行协议转换的第三装置。
