Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of seeding and seedling raising, in particular to a shell-breaking-free germination accelerating method for seedless watermelons.
Background
China is the largest watermelon producing area in the world, and watermelon is one of the favorite fruits. The varieties of the watermelons are also various, wherein the seedless watermelons are popular among people because of the convenience in eating the watermelons. The planting area of the seedless watermelons is also increased year by year.
The germination rate of the seedless watermelon seeds is low due to thick seed coats, weak vigor and the like. To improve this situation, the currently used germination methods include: firstly, soaking seeds; then, the soaked seeds are lightly knocked like the cracked melon seeds, and the 'snap' is heard; and finally, uniformly arranging the seeds which are knocked open in a constant temperature box for accelerating germination.
The treatment mode of manually cracking the seeds for accelerating germination enables the germination accelerating treatment process of the seedless watermelons to become very complicated, and seed kernels are easily damaged in the process of cracking the seeds, so that the germination rate is influenced.

The embodiment of the invention provides a shell-breaking-free germination accelerating method for seedless watermelons, which comprises the following processing steps of:
(1) taking seedless watermelon seeds, spreading the seeds in the sun outdoors, uniformly exposing the seeds for 2 to 3 hours (h), wherein the outdoor ground temperature is 35 to 42 ℃;
(2) soaking the exposed seedless watermelon seeds in cold clear water for 4-5h, and soaking the seeds;
(3) after the seed soaking treatment is finished, soaking the seed soaked by a medicament containing a seed germinator and a bactericide for 8-9 hours;
(4) cleaning and air drying the seeds soaked by the medicament, placing the seeds into a breathable fabric (such as a towel or coarse cloth) and then placing the seeds in an environment with the temperature of 35-40 ℃ for germination acceleration;
in the process of accelerating germination, the seeds can be turned over every 10-12h, and water is added into the breathable fabric to ensure that the water content of the fabric keeps unchanged in the initial state;
(5) after the germination rate of the seeds in the germination accelerating treatment process reaches 75-85%, the seeds naturally grow in a normal-temperature environment until the germination accelerating process is completed, wherein the temperature of the normal-temperature environment is required to be 20-25 ℃.
The following describes the implementation of the present invention in detail by taking a specific application example. In the application embodiment, the corresponding seedless watermelon shell-breaking-free germination accelerating treatment process can comprise the following steps:
(1) taking seedless watermelon seeds, spreading the seeds under outdoor sunlight for 2-3h, keeping the outdoor ground temperature at 35-42 ℃, continuously turning the seeds and uniformly exposing the seeds to the sun, and aiming at promoting the after-ripening of the seeds and achieving the effect of improving the vitality and the germination potential of the seeds, and avoiding that the seeds cannot be dried.
(2) After the seeds are collected, the seeds are soaked in cold clear water for 4-5 hours, so that the purpose of soaking the seeds is achieved, the effect of promoting the loosening of the seed shells is also achieved, and the water temperature of the cold clear water is 15-25 ℃.
(3) The cleaned seeds are soaked for 8-9h by using the medicament, so that the effects of sterilizing and promoting the germination of the seeds can be achieved. The medicament can be prepared by sterilizing with a seed germinant and carbendazim in a ratio of 1:1 and diluting with water by 500 times.
(4) Washing the seeds soaked with the medicament with clear water, and then spin-drying or air-drying the seeds by using a washing machine to the extent that no visible moisture exists on the surface.
(5) The air-dried seeds are wrapped by wet coarse cloth or towel with good air permeability, the water content of the coarse cloth is suitable for dripping without water drops when the seeds are twisted by hands, and the aim is to increase the air permeability of the seeds to achieve the effect of promoting the germination of the seeds.
(6) Placing the wrapped seeds in an electric blanket or a seed germination box for germination acceleration, namely performing germination acceleration treatment at a high temperature of 35-40 ℃; the seeds can start to bud and expose white after 24h, the seeds can be turned over after 10-12h to heat the seeds uniformly, and meanwhile, a little cold water can be added into the coarse cloth (the water content of the coarse cloth is proper, namely the initial humidity of the coarse cloth is kept).
(7) And (3) powering off the germination accelerating box after the seeds reach the germination rate of 75-85% to ensure that the seeds naturally grow, keeping the temperature at 20-25 ℃ generally at room temperature, completing the germination accelerating process when the sprouts grow to about 0.5cm, and sowing.
Example one
(1) Taking seedless watermelon seeds, spreading the seeds evenly and insolating the seeds for 2.5h (h) under outdoor sunlight, controlling the outdoor ground temperature to be 37 ℃, and continuously turning over the seeds to insolate the seeds evenly in the insolating process.
(2) Collecting the exposed seeds, and soaking in cold clear water at 25 deg.C for 4.5 h.
(3) Soaking the cleaned seeds for 8.5h by using a medicament, wherein the medicament is a liquid obtained by sterilizing the seeds by using a seed germinant and carbendazim in a ratio of 1:1 and diluting the seeds by 500 times by using water.
